of all the times joe biden has appeared out of touch is this the worst example of all? >> it's bad and it's only going to get worse. last year he showed how out of touchy was 2021 in the spring with the measure rescue plan pumped trillions of dollars in our economy and didn't rescue america. led to the inflation we are seeing right now. the inflation reduction act is fueling more inflation. when, really we need to get back to american energy. a lot of that is what is driving our costs up. and people are having to divert things away from savings and then we are seeing savings collapse. so he is making things worse and not things better. everything i want to do make things better for us in north carolina and you are country. he is out of touch. my opponent is out of touch. the democrats' ideology doesn't allow them to solve this problem. >> carley: congressman, you mentioned energy and also opec production cuts. and the allegation that the president asked saudi arabia to delay those production cuts until after the midterm elections and then went on tv and said because they didn't he

threatened consequences. now, there is a lot of republicans who say is that true exact same quid pro quo that led to former president trump's first impeachment. essentially asking a foreign country to intervene in an election. how do you feel about that and should anything be done about these allegations made against the president? >> absolutely. he needs to be investigated for this. but, let's go back to american weakness. it really started in afghanistan about 14 month ago where we tragically lost 13 marines. it snagged to the reps of the world, russia that they could invade ukraine. disrupting supplies. instability in the rest of the world and europe. it saber reality in south china sea and signaled to korea. and certainly that biden is not strong and can be taken advantage of. going to venezuela a sworn enemy

and saying we need more energy. it's american weakness and all what joe biden has projected. the democrats can't solve this issue. we need good leadership. we need a change in washington, d.c. we have got to get republicans elected, including me right here in north carolina. >> todd: senate majority could come down to your rice according to real clear politics. you are up by a point and a half. congressman, why do you think you will pull it out in the end and become senator budd? >> look. americans are focused on three things. they are focused on inflation. they are focused on crime. and focused on immigration. they want to say parents want to take back control. i think of a secretary who commutes about an hour into work. about six months away from retirement. not only is she seeing her 401(k) collapse. she is wondering if she can afford gas in her car to get to her job, to get to her retirement. that incapsulates so many stories i'm hearing in all 100 counties. they realize how out of touch.
