we will talk a little bit about politics. 22 days from today will be the midterm elections. there's a brand new "new york times" poll out this morning that essentially says a republican win is possible. winning control of congress. that means both the house and the senate, according to the poll, if this year's elections for congress were held today, which party's candidate would you be more likely to vote for in your district? 49% say the republican. 45% say the democrat. and it's because the economy and inflation are dominant issues but you knew that. >> rachel: yes, we absolutely know that and we have a fox poll proving that. look at this. 89% are extremely or very concerned about inflation. 79% crime, 74% political division. 73% is the ukraine-russia situation.

what's taught in school, abortion, gun law, border security and then, last, climate change. and, you know, it's interesting, the democrats, some of their ads that they're putting out not focused on inflation. in fact, they spent $95 million on abortion ads. meanwhile, the republican ads are almost exclusively about the economy. that might be why they are running ahead in the poll. >> brian: i saw a cbs poll in july. the democrats gaining momentum. in fact, starting to gain momentum with because of the dobbs decision and looked as though the economy was getting better. since that time things have ticked down and reversed and republicans have momentum. i can't say republicans deserve credit for it it's what the president's party is doing letting the border fall apart. the republican governors making everybody take notice. seeing what's happened with inflation. knowing that the democratic president promised to be are transitory. and here it is stubbornly extremely high 40 year high over

a year just under 9%. then you see what's happening with crime never city while people say the republicans well, the republicans should have used some of that money to put into their police force. when they're missing the point. the police know what party defunded them. defamed them. said they were unnecessary. the reason why they put down the badge or didn't pick up the uniform. so, therefore, these issues are coming their way. had it been about climate change. how it been about donald trump, had it been about january 6th, it would have worked that way. that's not what the person people care about right now. dr. oz was on earlier with senator tom cotton going to bat for him in pennsylvania. >> inflation is devastating the budgets of pennsylvania's families. john fetterman will be a rubber stamp for joe biden's agenda. >> he has only agreed to an hour of one debate even though he has been asked by multiple outlets to do several debates or at least give me more time than an hour because he needs closed captions. which means when i speak because he is unable to understand or

process the words i'm saying apparently, he needs to have it on closed captions. is he going to read the questions and ultimately answer them. i think for the voters of pennsylvania, this is an issue of transparency. >> and so that's one of the reasons why, you know, the democrats are not talking about inflation because they would rather talk about something else. brian, barack obama said people, democrats should stop talking about donald trump. and he said that they should, instead, be talking about the inflation control act, which lowered proximate result prescription drug priors, lowering energy costs, gun bills. the former president barack obama is going to be campaigning in michigan, wisconsin and georgia. joe biden is going to be appearing this week, i believe on thursday at a dnc fundraiser in pennsylvania for fetterman. he will be appearing for fetterman and so will kamala harris. as we get down just three weeks from tomorrow away from the

midterms. >> rachel: yeah. looks like definitely that dr. oz is benefiting from this waive. and we also know that a lot of people aren't answering to the calls. steve: they have been inaccurate before. >> brian: they have had a tough six to eight years. keep an eye. for those people who think that -- people see what they want to see, the fact that a republican is winning in oregon and lee zeldin is within striking distance of new york. that should get all -- when those doors close, that should get democrats extremely nervous. because i don't think anybody thought that six months ago. >> steve: historically, the president's party loses power in the midterms. so, it was set up for the republicans to win anyway. and now, with inflation, and crime and the border and the list goes on and on, suddenly, according to the "new york times," if the election were today, it's not. the republicans would have complete control of the u.s. house and the senate senate.

>> steve: this goes back to a program where they were trying to get as many people to join the national guard as possible. you are one of the people who help with recruiting. you got a bonus. they are just simply assuming that you did something illegal? >> absolutely, sorry. it was a great program to establish -- during the height of 2 wars between 2,005 and 2006. we were told to go out every recruit. we did. we recruited. we put their data into a database. that is all that took to get these into the military. >> steve: now, right now, on your military record, you have a flag or a title. >> i have a title. it is impacted me and my family significantly. in 2019, promotion to major. and then a flag popped up saying that there was fraud. those allegations that i spoke

of earlier popped up. once you have a flag, you have to go through an extensive promotion review board. it took 18 months. but because of the special interest to the government, it got further delayed. therefore, resulted in being removed from the promotion list, affecting me to climb the ladder within the military. it has affected me and thousands of other soldiers. >> steve: that is where you come in. how do help people like that captain clear their name? >> well, it is a long and bureaucratic process that will ultimately lead to federal court we believe. we are asking congress to hold hearings on this issue, because we think it is important to understand why they spent close to $15 million to recover about

less than a half a million dollars during this investigation. we also think it is important for congress to look into the fact that army with the help of fbi has created federal criminal histories on these soldiers and former soldiers that say they were in fact arrested when they weren't. that is a boldface lie. >> steve: i know there are more than 2500 soldiers flagged by the army and the army referred to 1500 cases to civilian authorities appeared only 137 soldiers have been charged. captain, you have not. you know, ultimately, as this diminished your trust in the military that, you know, you served your nation. you did your best. out of nowhere, some unknown bureaucrat says, that guy is probably dirty. >> absolutely, sorry. i feel completely isolated and hopeless from the military. i adore and respect the military.
