401(k). the cover on "the new york post" says it all. if you talk about traditional ways of saving money in the average workplace because usually there is a matching fund with 401(k). on average, the average american lost -- over the last 1.5 years because of what is happening with the market. everywhere you look. it is a huge percentage of people savings. the more you have, the more he lost. >> steve: the average 401(k) down 30 -- 25% in one year which literally makes it at 301k. if you had $300,000 in a 401(k), you have lost on average by "the new york post," $75,000. keep in mind, things have been chewing at your 401(k) over the last 1.5 years. we were told, look, inflation is a high class problem. it is not a high-class problem. it impacts the little guy. it impacts people who are living on fixed income.
