>> carley: good morning, everyone appeared it is still cool out there but we have a warm up relatively speaking in the next couple of days. take a look at the temperatures across the eastern part of the country, 38 louisville, 42 atlanta and definitely some cold-weather records especially over night there is there frost and freeze alert from folks the gulf coast to maine that we will warm things up starting today into friday and saturday. 80 st. louis, 79 st. louis, and saturday 70s for parts of atlantic and florida. florida feeling way below average. northwest, we've had very warm temperatures for months, and that we have a pattern change with a cold front significant one coming in on friday and saturday. we will drop those temperatures, and then we will see the potential for heat of snow.

chasing after suspects who randomly punched him in that head walking down the sidewalk in brooklyn. his attackers are still on the loose. harvey kraft is the nypd officer and joins me now. harvey, good morning. we are so sorry what happened. another victim of a random attack. describe what that situation that happened. what happened? >> i was walking down the street and i thought i was going to have an eventful afternoon but suddenly i realized it was evil lurking in the shadows. amp announced to me when i have my back turned to the street and grabbing some merchandise, i felt a shock to the temple on the right side of my head. it actually felt like there was a fist, that is how hard it was. it didn't knock me down and i didn't get knocked out but i was stunned for a quick second. i nearly turned around, confronted them and then when i saw i wasn't knocked out, i

started chasing them. we are all running different directions. i saw on a video in retrospect this was a planned attack because they were with their cell phones. i think the main objective and highlight of the day is to attack a respected person and put it on video. that is what these individuals are proud of. >> carley: the police were saying this is part of knockout gain and they were filming it which means they were not afraid of the consequences. that is part of the problem. >> it is amazing the untested they have on an afternoon in a crowded street. 1:00 in the afternoon. and anyone can be a victim any time day or night. you have to be constantly on guard. it is unfortunate but true. i'm glad that it resulted

criminals. how many times do you see people are repeat offenders. they have rap sheets to pull up the yellow pages. in the police are doing their job. the job to enforce and apprehend the suspects. in the district attorneys, the judges and the court system to put them behind bars, keep them free from injuring others and endangering the lives of innocent, good people. if you don't have safety in the city, what good is anything else? i can tell you i worked in the '90s where crime was rampant. there were a lot of murders. however, i think you could actually feel the fear in the city today. it is impalpable. >> carley: without a doubt. >> this is affecting every bureau. when i was working as an officer, there were select neighborhoods. >> carley: rate. >> that were known to be dangerous. and in other areas, you feel

access has been limited because the reaction to his instagram post showing the tent city has not been great. so, they are trying to deflect and they probably just want a lot of us to go away. todd: rachel, what do you make of the optics of all of this and specifically glee the adams administration not caring about the optics of it all. we have veterans that have been on new york's headey for decades and they don't get anywhere near the accommodations these individuals committed with illegally and they don't care about the optics, do they, rachel? >> no, but you know what new york city residents, even though many of them are open to the idea of welcoming the emigrants, we will say we should help american citizens first. i went over to the bronx when this tent city was over there and then it got moved here $320 million because they didn't want it there. but the people were saying the

same thing, hey, what about prioritizing our american citizens? others are saying maybe we need to prioritize what is happening at the border. again mayra flores and other texas representative saying immigration reform starts with border security. we wouldn't have this problem if we were controlling our borders. but again, it is interesting for the security presence here. i went to the border and i didn't see this kind of security. >> carley: one of the lady said, how long will they stayed there and what is the process of getting the migrants from the tent facility to their final destination? you are fearless, rachel because you were shouting at the people who were working there. we went aoc was not a mission and she was not at the fence crying this time. she was actually cheering because she was happy those individuals were not in her district because remember, she was mad for putting them in her district. such a passionate aggressive.
