historic midterm opportunity all because their primary winners were just terrible. >> you do have republicans nominating, shall we say, flawed candidates. >> herschel walker in georgia, jd vance in ohio. dr. oz in pennsylvania. >> what looked like a whineout for democrats in the fall is maybe not going to be so bad because of the candidates republicans are nominating. >> walker can lose, oz can lose, johnson can lose. they're bad candidates. >> laura: so smug and so wrong. liberal super packs even helped boost the so-called election denier republicans in the primaries with the thought that they would be easier to defeat in the general elections. even our own senate minority leader joined the pig pile against his own party trying to tamp down his party's expectations by blaming the populous, the maga folks.

>> there's probably a greater likelihood the house flips than the senate. senate races are just different, they're state wide. candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome. >> laura: he's a barrel of laughs, isn't he? just asthma conditional was wrong about voting for biden's so-call infrastructure bill, he was wrong to imply that republicans just chose lousy candidates. now we all know the gop establishment has been exposed for their mistakes on things like china trade and these endless wars. and i think it kind of makes them nervous when new faces appear on the scene who just aren't beholdened to the old guard and who aren't afraid of them, afraid to challenge them even. they hated trump for the same reason. thank god we have a system where the people, not washington dinosaurs get to choose who best to represent them every election cycle. but if we're talking weak candidates and we are talking weak candidates, the party that

has them in spades is the democrat party. i mean, jb pritzker in illinois? please. who in his right mind believes he should win reelection. what has he actually done to the state other than preside over a huge population loss. other than, you know, further wrecking education in the state by ordering schools to stay closed throughout the state through covid. no wonder so many families left illinois public schools. meanwhile, arizonians have a chance to elect kari lake as their governor, dynamic and bold and vowing to tackle the border and crime problems. but her democrat challenger katie hobbs, oh, my, she's horrible in every way. >> i've continued to meet with community leaders, and focus on how we cannot just build a campaign that's inclusive, but make sure that our government at every level of the administration, reflects the

diversity of the state of arizona. >> laura: oh, my goodness, she's as deadly boring and uninspiring but, well, no more said than democrat senator maggie hassan in new hampshire who debated bolden this week. instead of focusing on the fact that we could have heating oil rationing this winter, she went back to 2020. >> here's the thing about election deniers, right? he is working and has been working to conceal how extreme he is. don bolduc can ignore where more grant it staters are on those issues i just talked about, right, because he thinks he doesn't need to accept election results. >> laura: first of all, stop saying right. oh, my gosh, painful. and then in a category by herself is oregon's left wing loan tina kotek who's running for governor there. >> portland in particular in ad to making measure 110 work we need a meth stabilization center

would talk now like she supports law enforcement. >> laura: of course she doesn't. and, look, drazen is a notice nonsense republican. maybe not as conservative as i'd like but this is after all the pacific northwest, got to be realistic. again, which party here has the bad candidates again? now, as for that georgia match-up between liberal rafael warnock and herschel walker, the democrats may wish they hadn't revved up the smear machine, because if walker doesn't flinch and if the hits keep coming and he keeps going and then he goes on to win, he'll be a solid vote for sensible measures such as closing the southern border and opening new oil and gas pipe lines. now, with the nastiness, all of it thrown at him, walker will be battle tested for what the swamp will bring him. and last but not least, and i could go on and on, let's not forget the worst of them all, uncle john fetterman in an.

saw john fetterman i think of courage. this guy stood up last night, god bless john fetterman. >> laura: do the voters of pennsylvania really appreciate what happened on wednesday? now, it was an insult to them what happened to them on wednesday. now, god bless everybody, but that's not what the pennsylvania voters need. they only get to send two senators to pennsylvania and this is the one the democrats chose as the best in the state to run. really? and the same people who lied about fetterman's condition were trying to tell us that dr. oz is supposedly the bad candidate in this match-up. a former heart surgeon and an entrepreneur from an immigrant family who achieved the american dream, that's the bad candidate? yeah, nice try. the race is so dire there that obama is swooping in. >> swooping into western pa to try to do the rescue attempt. and they're so freaked out that even biden and kamala are pairing together at a rare rally appearance for fetterman.

now that is truly desperate. now here's the reality. we shouldn't judge candidates by whether the press likes them or whether big business likes them or whether they will go with the flow in dc. we should judge them on whether they'll fight for the national interests and stand up for the american people. now, this year, all over the country, republican voters chose talented, self-made men and women who think for themselves and who will fight for you. the democrats, they mostly nominated establishment hacks who will do whatever pelosi and schumer tell them to do. and when a smart, independent thinker goes up against someone who just does what the handlers tell them, even the bias press can't help but recognize the difference in quality. we have better candidates, much better. and that is making a difference. and that's the angle. joining me now is tom bevin president and co-founder of real clear politics and brian kilmeade fox and friends cohost and author of the president and the freedom fighter now out in

paper back. he's also the host, of course, one nation airing saturdays at 8:00 p.m. tom, it turns out that these gop candidates with no experience, in many cases are connecting with the concerns of everyday americans in their states and districts, better than the democrats who may be the incumbents. >> yeah, and i think they've all acquitted themselves well in the debates they've had. if you think about jd vance in ohio and herschel walker outperformed expectations in his debate in georgia, blake masters certainly had a strongs debate performance in arizona. and so -- and you look at the democratic candidates, the one you didn't mention in your angle is manned la barnes in wisconsin, another, who is seen as a rising star in the democratic party, ron johnson is well up in the polls there now leading in all the polls extending his lead there, and so, you know, i think democrats are the whens are looking at

their candidates and thinking, oh, boy, maybe they weren't as good as we thought they were originally. >> laura: well, brian, chuck schumer was caught on a hot mic today talking about democrats chances in the midterms, check this out. >> >> laura: brian he said the debate didn't hurt much in pennsylvania? oz is up by 3. >> right. by the way how does he know? he's smiling and cheerleading. but it is interesting to catch the hot mic. no matter how experienced you are in politics they seem to never understand the microphone is always on. remember when he called peter doocy, the president of the united states a stupid blank. couple things on your monologue you nailed it in many respects.

another respect is this. there's a belief in washington that you have to have experience as a politician to be a successful politician. i think we screwed up the job description. the job description is seniors. i would like to execute for the people that put me there along with represent and on the best things in the interest of my country, okay, and party fits in. it doesn't mean you have to spend 30 years doing it. you can be in business, you can be in medicine, you can be in sports. you can be multifaceted in terms of herschel walker he has business as well. because he doesn't do it they say, well, inspeared. yeah, at what? kari lake is one of the most impressive candidates i have seen come out of the box. she has no political experience but 30 years doing what you do, an outstanding broadcaster. you could probably step right in, laura ingraham has no experience. at what? serving your country? doing what's best? understanding issues? and i think that donald trump is really -- i know he's pretty much not on the ballot definitely but he is kind of when you look at blake masters

and jd vance, when you look at herschel walker, when you look at even marco rubio he's stumping for surely these are candidates, kari lake, lot of people they didn't get behind and trump said that's my pick and they said we're in trouble and little by little these candidates ended up really proving themselves. >> laura: and the conventional wisdom, establishment conventional wisdom is wrong again in washington but tom the washington post revealed i think how desperate the democrats are getting, because on wednesday, they pumped about $6.3 million worth of ads into a trio of congressional districts in new york and new jersey. and first lady jill biden spent the afternoon in rhode island trying to help save a democrat running there in a district her husband carried by almost 14 points. and then i guess he's trying to shore up hochul in new york, they're worried about hochul getting enough turnout in new york city. in a politico piece tonight tom, this is getting very

interesting. >> yeah. it's -- the northeast is not looking good for the democrats. they have problems everywhere, across the board. there was a story earlier this week that democrats are pouring millions into washington state to shore up patty murray against tiffany smiley the republican candidate up there who's within striking distance. and you've seen these polls pop up. there was a poll in inn me that showed the governor's race there close, which was a bit shocking. so, yeah. look, i think the general consensuses and all the data is telling us that a republican wave is building across the country the generic congressional ballot you see the movement in the senate races and the house races and the governor's races and the question is, you know, we're still ten days away so how big will it be? will it crest early and not be as big as people think or will it build early and crash on election day? that remains to be seen but right now republicans on are on offense in states and districts that democrats didn't think they

were going to be playing defense. and they're up against it right now, the democrats certainly are. >> yeah, crime inflation and the border aren't going to be fixed in ten days. brian finally your book the president freedom fighters is out in paper back now. how does this and this story relate to service and the idea that the last thing you really want is a professional politician in washington. you want people with real world experience to relate to what's going to now in the lives of everyday people. >> absolutely, you know, we know the story most written about president, frederick douglass born a slave, don't tell me you have head wins if this guy can be born a slave and within seven years of freedom can be one of the most well respected people in the free world because he went to europe and established himself. about you the number two slot on every list is education. we are learning not to respect lincoln and douglas and american founding fathers and the average american family not politically oriented and not woke is outraged by this.

warning about the explosion of no excuse mail in ballots during the pandemic. we all know how 2020 turned out, especially the failed legal challenges that followed the election. now, this time the gop is not waiting. the ap noting that election days is november 8th but legal challenges have already begun. of course that has all the usual suspects crying foul. >> they could let the states start counting those early votes as they come in, but they don't want to do that because they want to sew doubts in the results. >> what the voters out there have to understand is what they guys didn't accomplish with bear spray and batons and bay nets on january 6th they're now trying to do with voter suppression. >> laura: they're upset because it's working. last year the rnc won a challenge against michigan democrat secretary of state overrules on how poll challengers can operate. they also won legal challenges in nevada and arizona over the appointment of poll workers.

in wisconsin they won on the issue of ballot curing which is a process where voters can fix problems with their ballots so they can actually be counted. wisconsin' high court also found the use of drop boxes to be illegal. yay. joining me now is texas senator ted cruz author of the appropriately titled justice corrupted how the left weaponized our legal system. senator congrats on the book. there's pending litigation also in pennsylvania where the secretary of the commonwealth there just announced it could take days to count all the votes. how are we still allowing this to happen in the united states of america? >> you know, it is really ridiculous and seems the places where it takes days to count the votes, they always end up being these bright blue cities where democrats are looking to get the votes they need to try to win an election. how come the rest of the country manages to actually finish our counting on election night and

get a result? you know, the book that i have that came out this week, justice corrupt ready goess into the history of voter fraud and how this goes into our democracy and what we're seeing now particularly in 2020 is democrats took advantage of the covid crisis to change the rules and change the rules in a way that encouraged more voter fraud. they did things like put in place universal mail-in ballots in some states, even though it is clear that mail-in ballots make voter fraud more likely. they did things like putting in place unmanned drop boxes which again invite voter fraud. they do so by doing things like facilitating ballot harvesting which readily invites fraud because it allows paid political operatives to handle other people's ballots, to influence vulnerable voters and if they don't like the way the voter votes to throw away their votes.

book gets into georgia's voter integrity law and texas voter integrity law and the lies this white house and justice department have told. this is soaring because when people have confidence in voter election they're more likely to turn out. i've been fighting voter fraud for two decades, whiffs the solicitor in texas i led before the supreme court defending photo ids for voting and went to the score 6-3 the court upheld veto ids for voting the opinion written by justice john paul stevens which as you know was one of the leading liberals on the court who said protecting the integrity of election enhances everyone's confidence in democracy because it prevents your vote from being stolen. but today's biden white house, they want a system where more fraud is possible. and what this book is all about is that, under barack obama and now even more so under joe

biden, they have politicized the department of justice, the fbi, the irs, the cia, the entire federal government, and they're using it as a weapon to target and attack their enemies. it's profoundly dangerous. and it is a fundamental threat to our liberties. >> laura: and i hope the senate, if it returns into republican hands, the senate -- the republican-controlled senate actually is able to do something about all this. senator, elon musk now takes the reigns at twitter, speaking of texas because he's moved his operation to texas, what do you think is going to happen now that all of this lunacy perhaps will end with the censorship with opposing viewpoints? >> look, i think elon musk's buying twitter is one of the most significant developments for free speech in modern times. big tech is the single greatest threat to free speech and to free and fair elections we have in america, and twitter was brazen about it, about silencing

and censoring conservetives. elon musk put a lot of money into it and he said he wants it to be a haven for free speech, for people to speak and debate and be a town square of public democracy. i think that is tremendous, he fired the top executives, that is incredibly important. he needed to clean house at the top level. and simply allowing free speech is incredibly important. next year, when republicans take a majority, and i'm right now in the middle of a nation-wide 17-state bus tour, i spent all day today campaigning with herschel walker in georgia. when we take the majority in both houses, which i believe we will, i'm next in line to chair the senate commerce committee and you can be assured we're going to have hearings examining big tech censorship and fighting to protect free speech. >> laura: all right senator we can't wait to watch that and congrats again on the book >> now a new disney film and taylor swift wrestle with fat
