this is "america's newsroom." terrible situation there. she was not in san francisco at the time so she got a call and it happened sometime in the middle of the night. we'll get more details, we believe, this morning and we'll bring them to you. >> bill: if i'm correct, their home is in pacific heights in san francisco. high living as you know and a home in napa valley. this happened in san francisco according to the reporting. you think about crime and how we've been talking about it for two years. lee zeldin is the republican candidate in new york. a month ago he had a random shooting in his front yard where his two daughters were home. point being depending the circumstances of this story, crime hits everybody. >> dana: there was also the home intrusion and robbery of the democratic candidate in los angeles running for mayor, her name is escaping me at the moment but she also remember had the gun stolen from her home.
6:02 am
still don't have information about how that happened. >> bill: two days ago this guy walked into the headquarters for katie hobs who is running for governor in arizona and stole 1100 worth of computer equipment. it can happen anywhere. crime is random and such a significant part of this election story here. >> dana: interesting in the statement it said the motivation for the attack against paul pelosi is under investigation. so we'll find out more and bring it to you as that happens. >> bill: stand by for more on that coming up here. meanwhile, we have 11 days until america votes. former president barack obama will hit the trail in a big way. democrats hope for a mid-term miracle. >> dana: today he is in georgia where the senate race is razor close and senate majority leader chuck schumer is sounding the alarm with a stunning admission caught on a hot mic yesterday
6:03 am
telling president biden the democrats chances in georgia are fading fast. >> dana: we have team fox coverage. bryan len as reports from philadelphia. analysis from bret baier and we also are in college park georgia with steve. >> former president obama expected here later this afternoon going to stump for stacey abrams as well as senator raphael warnock in the run-up to his visit the former president said people in georgia are being challenged what he called extreme gun laws as well as extreme abortion laws. on the campaign trail, stacey abrams running for governor is really pounding the abortion issue. here is abrams. >> brian kemp got into office

and made it his priority to make women less. he broke the promise we hold in this country that we have the right to control our bodies and futures. i'm here to tell you it may have taken a man to break that promise but it will take a woman to put it right. >> her opponent is brian kemp. most polls show kemp with a slight lead. kemp is stressing the economy and what he said were democratic efforts to shut down georgia's economy during the pandemic. >> you know what science they were following? they were following the political science. that wind is blowing different now. we knew it then. we weren't worried about what the polls said or what the national media said. we worried about your children. we worried about our own children. >> georgia has been a reliably red state for decades.
6:05 am
that all changed in 2021 when the democrats won two runoff senate elections taking control of the senate. dana, back to you. >> dana: all eyes on georgia this fall. thank you. >> bill: we mentioned the former president is hitting the road. what's interesting, you go where the votes are, right? especially right now in the homestretch. want to take you back to two years ago. president obama will be in georgia a later today. in georgia two years ago state was won by biden by 12,000 votes, okay? he'll be in the southern part of fulton county which holds lantus. right down around here. it was decided by 12,000 votes. in full ton county alone there were over 200,000 votes. in michigan tomorrow decided by 154,000 votes two years ago. president obama will go to detroit, 332,000 was the difference there in michigan.
6:06 am
also in the same day over the weekend on saturday it goes to wisconsin, 20,000 votes between biden and trump two years ago. he will go to milwaukee and the pattern repeats itself, right, 183,000 vote advantage to the blue team two years ago. next tuesday he goes out to nevada. really interesting congressional races out in nevada and we're tracking them with great intensity and clarity and attention come election night. 33,000 votes between biden and trump. he will hit clark county, las vegas, triple the number there statewide in clark county alone and 90,000 votes. you go where the votes are. they're for democrats in pennsylvania in the city of philadelphia primarily and then pittsburgh after that. that's where we find bryan llenas with visitors later today. good morning. what's the news there? >> bill, good morning. according to the white house
6:07 am
press corps tonight's state dinner at the philadelphia convention center marks president biden's 21st visit to pennsylvania. he has invested far more time in this battleground more than any other. for instance, going to georgia just three times. tonight president and the vice president will share the stage with john fetterman who is scheduled to speak. they have made two joint public appearances together since september. tonight's visit comes as fetterman tries to reassure voters he is fit for office. >> i believe and so do my doctors believe that i will be able to return back to being full and back on 100% as long time keeps going longer and longer. >> biden and former president obama will be in pennsylvania on november 5th. obama notably held big events here in 2016 for hillary clinton
6:08 am
and in 2020 for biden with mixed results. two new ads are playing throughout the commonwealth starring obama and his closing message to voters. >> we can turn a blind eye to white nationalism and conspiracy theories or we can fight for an america where truth matters. when the fate of our democracy and a woman's right to choose are on the line, i know john will fight for pennsylvania. >> i'm told to expect fetterman to campaign more with democratic gubernatorial candidate josh shapiro. he has a 22-point lead in the latest poll over republican doug mastery an ing. he is seen as more moderate that could help fetterman in the homestretch and president trump will hold a rally next saturday. trump will be here for dr. oz. >> dana: let's bring in bret baier, great to have you.
6:09 am
this is from "the new york times" call for number two. first line of the "new york times" piece this morning of the polls, president biden is unpop i -- unpopular every where. >> let's take a second and analyze the first line of a "new york times" story saying president biden is unpopular every where. that's stunning. but true in that these congressional candidates don't want president biden to campaign with them. they would much prefer former president obama, the star mess eveninger for the democrats. that said he doesn't have a huge track record to getting mid-term races to go his way as president or really as a campaigner post presidency. his message, though, is interesting. listen to bryan llenas in that clip. he didn't talk about crime. he didn't focus on the economy. he focused on abortion and a threat to democracy. and so far that has not really stuck in a lot of these races.
6:10 am
>> bill: bret, i think over the last 48 hours, i don't think you can look anywhere including "the new york times" where you can't find good news for republicans and bad news for democrats. and you wonder 11 days out are you peaking too soon or is this the reality? election will determine that. >> i agree. i talk to republicans shaking their head saying we look too good. it is 11 days. wait a second. we want to look this good on november 8th. there is this building momentum that when you start seeing other races starting to close, new hampshire, when you start seeing washington state, when you start seeing money that is flowing from democrats into coffers they didn't think they would have to defend. the fact that former president biden is going to michigan for a michigan governor's race is stunning if you think about it. that was not supposed to be a race. they wanted dixon as the candidate to run against. that race is closing as well.
6:11 am
>> dana: yesterday there was a chuck schumer hot mic moment. what he said about georgia. a lot of conversation this week has been about that senate debate in pennsylvania between fetterman and oz. president obama and biden going to philly is a smart political move on their end. listen to what schumer said to biden yesterday. >> dana: you probably couldn't hear that but you get the gist. fetterman didn't seem to hurt us as bad in pennsylvania. what are you picking up about how close that senate race is? >> really close and it's about turnout in philadelphia in
6:12 am
particular and republicans always have some challenges around those suburbs sometimes. but that's really where it comes down to. bill will know on the map. i think it's interesting to hear the senate majority leader saying the debate didn't hurt them too bad. i'm not sure the fallout from the debate has been digested. it was stunning to hear democrats on channels all over the place saying he shouldn't have done it. i think it tells you all you need to know. >> bill: not to point out the obvious but we mentioned philadelphia. look at the map from two years ago democrats had a raw vote total advantage of 470,000 votes in one city, philadelphia. across the entire state the difference was 80,000 votes. you see why biden and now in turn harris and now in turn barack obama on the calendar. call for number six, why they go back to philadelphia time and time again, bret. >> yeah. it's crucial for democrats in
6:13 am
pennsylvania to get out that vote in philadelphia. and, you know, if you look at big cities around the country, it is going to be crucial for turnout. their real strength is early vote and you heard the senate majority leader say our early vote is huge. we'll see because republicans really come with the heat on election day usually. more and more republicans, though, are voenth early and georgia i was just down in georgia, they are going to surpass their early vote total forever and shatter records. so it's tougher to make the voter suppression argument that stacey abrams is making. >> bill: you say the mid-term vote will top the presidentall level of two years ago, right? >> dana: it will be very close and shatter any mid-term vote they've ever had but almost equal the presidentall vote. >> dana: we're a week away from november 8th when you'll lead us on the election coverage. >> it will start at 6:00 p.m. on

"special report" time. we have a cast of thousands. >> dana: update. house speaker nancy pelosi says her husband, paul pelosi, was violently assaulted after a home intrusion and he is in the hospital. the spokesperson said they do expect him to fully recover. we asked jonathan hunt to look into it and he is live from california this morning. >> good morning. dana. this happened in the early hours of this morning at the pelosi's home in san francisco. it is in the pacific heights neighborhood of san francisco. according to a spokesman for speaker pelosi, quote, early this morning an assailant broke into the pelosi residence in san francisco and violently assaulted mr. pelosi. the assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation. mr. pelosi was taken to the hospital where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full

recovery. the statement goes on that the speaker herself, nancy pelosi, was not in san francisco at the time. the speaker and her family, the statement says, are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved and request privacy at this time. the big question here obviously, bill and dana, is what was the motivation here? san francisco obviously is no stranger to random property crime, random break-ins. on the other hand, obviously the great concern here is whether this was in any way whatsoever politically motivated. the bottom line, we don't know at this moment. we are reaching out to the law enforcement authorities in san francisco to try to find out what they know. but obviously the country is very concerned about violence in political circles right now. we have seen other public
6:16 am
figures assaulted. we have seen other violent incidents near the homes of other public figures. so it is a great concern. but again, we have to point out at this point we don't know. there is reaction politically coming in. the congressman bill pass kral from new jersey says i'm hoping and praying paul pelosi is okay and outraged the speaker and her family are going through this. cowardly, disgusting and disgraceful. the good news, though, bill and dana, we're told mr. pelosi, who is 82 years old is expected to make a full recovery. >> dana: thank you so much. we'll keep everyone updated. a report on the origins of covid putting a chinese lab back into the headlines and what we learn about the source of the virus. >> bill: elon musk is closing the deal and officially owns twitter and the man in charge and heads are starting to roll. >> dana: the biden administration is failing to get a handle on the migrant crisis.

>> bill: 22 past now. senate report on the origins of covid claims the pandemic was most likely caused by a lab incident and not at a live animal market down the street. griff jenkins on that in washington from there with more. griff, what are they saying? >> good morning. we may never know the origins of the pandemic because of the lack of transparency from china. the health committee concludes it was more than likely than not a lab leak. in the report they write substantial evidence suggests the covid-19 pandemic was the

result of a research related incident associated with the laboratory in wuhan, china. research-related incident is consistent with early showing the rapid spread of the disease in wuhan. by their original campus. the report doesn't rule out the theory it came from natural origins in a wet market in wuhan but no facts or evidence to date have been identified supporting that conclusion. meanwhile, as this report was hitting our in boxes, bill, china ordered more lockdowns after a third day of more than 1,000 new cases, including locking down some 900,000 residents in a district in wuhan that is ground 0 with the lab. we reached out to the white house for a comment and didn't hear back. one thing is for sure, if republicans win the house or senate you'll hear a lot more

about it. >> bill: griff jenkins in d.c. >> dana: arizona pushing back against a federal order to remove shipping containers used to close gaps in the border wall near yuma. the state is now installing new containers along another section of the border after suing the biden administration. let's bring in oopl yuma, arizona mayor. you have a full plate of problems. one of them is trying to deal with the border crossings and you have the biden administration say you can't do that. tell us about the scope of the problem and what you're trying to do to solve it. >> right now we're 5,000 to 6,000 people a week coming through the yuma sector alone and getting drug seizures of meth and fentanyl here at record levels. so those are all activity coming through just a porous border. working with the governor's office we're able to identify
6:25 am
some of the higher traffic areas and the governor did mobilize and very quickly get up shipping containers to block those areas. now, that shifts the traffic. it doesn't stop it. but it shifts it to areas a little easier to focus more on that activity. so it is more easy to address with law enforcement and border patrol. >> dana: what was the biden administration's objection to that innovative solution? >> they say this is federal land. it is. but it would be trespassing supposedly to put these containers on there. well, my contention is that 300,000 people that have come through this year alone, they've been trespassing and i don't remember seeing a letter going out to anybody to try to stop any of that. this is really about effective solutions in a timely manner. i understand the administration's going to be doing some fencing. we've been waiting. in the interim these containers are in place.
6:26 am
>> dana: you said 310,000 crossings right there just there in the yuma sector alone. i also wanted to ask if you agree with this. this is an opinion editorial in the "washington post." the headline is no, biden's immigration policies are not to blame for the fentanyl crisis going on to say if anything border crackdowns have exacerbated the crisis. a large supply can be easily concealed and makes it easy to enter the country through legal border crossings. the fentanyl issue affects every american in this country. and you would think that maybe some of the mayors across the country would want to help you to try to prevent the fentanyl from coming in. >> right. fentanyl is a nationwide issue. the more our border patrol has to spend on immigration issues, the less they have on enforcement issues with fentanyl and drug interdiction. i don't understand how the policies that have not supported our men and women in border
6:27 am
patrol would not lead to easier access for drugs coming through our borders. it just stretches those resources that just naturally it is easy to understand that drugs and other things will be able to get through easier because the resources aren't there to stop them. >> dana: i've long maintained that local government is the toughest government. my aunt patty sue in wyoming was mayor for a while and it was a very tough job and you need people in the rest of the government to help you out with a problem like this. appreciate you coming on, mr. mayor, thank you. >> thank you for having me on, dana. >> dana: you bet. >> i was in the locker room and the trans student walked in. i was really uncomfortable and left and told the school and said there was nothing they could do. i was later suspended because i voiced my opinion. >> bill: that is a high school student. she is 14. she is banned from the girls' locker room after raising concerns over a trans student.
