[laughter] >> you and me both. you and me both, kari. it's great to have you. we really appreciate it. you've been on the trail, a number of appearances that amongst conservatives have fall galvanized folks in terms of how you fight back against the media. there's an ad running in arizona attacking you from a familiar republican -- sort of republican face. here's -- debateabley. here's 10 seconds of that ads

and it features liz cheney. >> i don't know that i have ever voted for a democrat but if i lived in arizona i absolutely would. we cannot give people power who will not honor elections. rachel: unbelievable. >> here's a portion of your open letter back to liz cheney. you wrote my team tells me your commercial should add another 10 points to our lead. i guess that's why they call the cheney anti-endorsement the gift that keeps on giving. quite an endorsement, kari. >> my goodness, i'm telling you, she will be our best fundraiser yet. we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars since her ad started and we put that letter out. she'ses just -- she's hated by sides right now. we're actually bringing democrats over to our movement. they don't like liz cheney either and for her to think that she can come into arizona and try to influence this election, it's comical. it's sad. and a little bit scary. i think the scariest costume you

[laughter] rachel: that was fun. you know what's not fun, kari? i just got back from the texas border. i am originally from arizona. i understand what's happening in terms of arizona in terms of the open border policies of this administration and we've sat here on the couch, you've said -- you made a promise to the people that you would declare an emergency. we all think you really will. what's that going to look like if you're elected? >> well, we've got a real frightening situation at the border. we do have an invasion. millions of people pouring across illegally. many of them do have criminal a backgrounds and we know right now that the cartels are in control of our border and we're seeing a crisis with the fentanyl that's pouring across, nearly 3, 3,000 arizona residens died of overdoses. liz cheney is running her mouth,

trying to prevent me from winning. she's more concerned with the january 6th commission than the migrant who came can over on january 6th and wanted to kill and tried to kill a border agent. we're calling it what it is, an invasion. we're going to send the national guard to the border to stop people from coming over and take on the cartels and end fentanyl trafficking through arizona. it's as simple as that. we have the right. it's in the u.s. cons tuesday -- constitution, article 1, section 10. we'll invoke those powers and the state of arizona will take charge of the border. >> that's something you said you will do within the first hours of being inaugurated. we've talked about that over the last couple months, we talked to two people who helped push the issue forward. the states have the power to declare an invasion. why -- i'm going to ask you a two part question. why do you think other republican governors have been hesitant to do of so and what

are the downstream implications you think happens after you declare an invasion and use state resources to begin to solve this problem. >> i don't know why other governors haven't done it. maybe a lack of courage or lack of will. concerned about maybe losing a an election. we're not -- it may not go perfectly every step of the way. no plans do. have you to make adjustments and there will be he detours along the way but we don't have the choice of sitting on the sideline and watching fentanyl pour into this country and kill people in record numbers. enough fentanyl has poured in to kill every man, woman and child in america several times over. we don't have the option of sitting around waiting for joe biden to do something. he's not. he's part of the problem. and in my opinion he's on the side of the cartels. so we don't have a choice but to et get down there and stop this illegal activity. we're going to do it. i'm not worried about being

reelected. i'm not worried about the political implications. i'm worried about health implications and losing our young people. i talked to way too many moms and dads who have lost a child, 17-year-old, 19-year-old, 20-year-old that are gone and i cannot bear that heart ache for those parents anymore and someone's got to stand up and he protect the people of arizona and that's why i'm running for office and that's what i intend to do starting on day one. >> we may get back to the border in a moment. i have a sincere question. you were well-known in arizona because you were a tv anchor for years. so people know you from the news. you have taken on the news and the media there in ways that other candidates have really across the country usually been unwilling to do. what's it like as a former member of the media to be targeted by the media so unfairly and then to fight back. talk to me about that dynamic. >> that is a great question.

i watched for -- we watched for seven years as president trump has been attacked and you would think okay, they just don't like president trump. i worked in the media in this town for 30 years. i got along with these people and now they're attacking me. and what it is, is they don't like conservatives, they don't like america first agendas. they don't want people who are going to fight for the people. i don't know what's behind it. but it's disturbing. they're spreading fake news about me, my opponent who has been campaigning out of her basement had a petty theft in her office. she tried to pin it on me, tried to make it into a watergate style breakin. anybody with half a brain would have looked at her allegation, saying it's not only defamatory, is f stupid. the mea media in the town ran wh it, pinned the burglary on me. it was a repeat criminal, breaking in, trying to fuel an add decision or something like

that and they didn't -- an addiction or something like that and they didn't do any background to the look into it. it was so obvious at the surface that it wasn't us that was behind it. they want the status quo, don't want people that will go in, shake up the government and return it back to we, the people. it's despicable. i'm trying to wake people up in the country as to what the media is all about. and i think i'm having an effect. >> i want to play a clip from a recent exchange about whether or not you're an election defire. i have a question -- denier. i have a question on the other side. >> if you're going to start throwing around terms like election denier, let's remember who the other election deniers were. hillary clinton and all the democrats. let's talk about he'll eggs deniers. -- election deniers. here's 150 examples of democrats denying election results. it's okay for democrats to question elections. but it's not okay for republicans? >> you know, kari, i spent time

breaking down the tools on the will cane podcast, some of the tools and tech the sneaks you -- techniques you use, one is in a different clip where a reporter testifies that many people of color and critiques you and you question it who, what people of color, what surveys are you referencing. you have a talent of seeing the clips that many assume are he benign or objective questions. i don't where you gather that, naturally intelligence or 20 years in the media. many don't see what's happening in this relationship. >> yeah. i'm listening to the reporter. i used to be a reporter. >> listening. >> i consider myself to be a journalist at heart. and i know the tricks. i know where they're trying to go with those loaded questions, many people of color, surveys say, surveys prove. which surveys? and who is behind those surveys?

because i talk to people of color and guess what, i said to the guy, they want safe neighborhoods as well. people of color want their children to be able to ride their bikes outside and not have to worry about them, people of color want to make sure they have police officers when they call them, that they'll show up if there's enough on staff. i just reject the fake news, the narrative that they're pushing and i know in most of these news outlets, 90% of the people are liberals or even far leftists and so i know where they're coming from. and i want people to wake up that what you're hearing on the news is oftentimes not the truth and many times it's a pushed narrative coming from the left. rachel: kari, it's really interesting to see the command with which you take on as will pointed out and we saw in this clip the media. i think you've become -- i've always thought that feminism, it was odd that it was in the hands of liberals and that this new wave of feminism is really

conservative women like yourself who are leading the way at this moment where even the idea of what is a woman is being called into question. and i want to play a clip because i think so many women are looking up to you and seeing what you're doing, seeing what you're standing for in terms of life and family and children and the fentanyl issues and everything else. here's a moment from your campaign, unscripted and the kind of impact you're having on little girls. take a look. >> hi. look at that sweet baby back there. she's waving. >> i like you because you take care of babies. >> i do. that still warms my heart, guys. i see that clip and that's why i'm in this and, rachel, i mean, you know it. we're mama bears. rachel: hater. bear.rachel: that's right. >> once you trigger a mama bay because y -- mama bear, you hava force to be reckoned with and mama bears in the country are wide awake and activated, and i don't know if i can say it, they're pissed off. they're going to protect their babies. you've probably seen videos of a child get run over by a car, a dad gets super human strength to lift the car or a mom. and you go where did that strength come from? that's the inner source of strength you have as a parent to protect your child and the left has triggered us. they have opened that up to a nation of moms and dads who are so fed up, they're coming after

them and they're going to change policies, they're going to he get involved, they're going to affect this election by voting and they're going to get people into office who will protect their children come hell or high water. >> you mentioned they that inner source of strength and you had a campaign ad talking about something that gives you strength and that's your faith. we're going to play a portion of it. >> i remember sitting at my desk in my office and i just was praying to god about it and i took the bible and i just opened it up. first timothy, chapter 6, verse 7. you bring nothing into this world and you take nothing out of this world and i remember getting the message loud and clear. okay, message received, god. i got it. you want he me to go. me to go and right then and there i decided i'm leaving my career. >> the role of faith what is that in your campaign? >> oh, everything. i have to say, god has been behind this campaign since the beginning. i believe he gave me the courage

to walk away from my job and that moment in my bio which you can find on our social media, on our website, talked about that last part of me that was afraid to walk away from a big, comfortable paycheck and that moment where i opened the bible and that was the verse that was staring back at me. god has been such a huge power. i completely handed my life over to god. 100%, not 50%, not 75%. 100%. and when you do that, it is truly amazing where god will take you. this has been a wild ride. we're only just beginning it. we're looking forward to getting into office. we believe we're going to win and i know that god will be there to help me make the right decisions along the way. you can't always rely on people to help you. but you can always rely on god and he has been giving us just supernatural strength through this entire campaign. we're working from early in the morning until midnight some nights. we have done five to six, sometimes 10 events and meetings

a day and i don't know how i've had the strength other than to give god the thanks for it because he is somehow fueling us through this. we only have nine more days to go and we're not going to stop. we're hitting the gas and we're going to go through the finish line. rachel: you've been taking arrows and attacks that i have never seen probably since donald trump. it's been remarkable. i had a birthday a week or two ago and i told the guys on the couch that for my birthday i wanted kari lake lighting. maybe you could tell us the secret. >> i wondered if she was going to ask about the lighting. >> my husband is a video production guy. and it's really simple. we just have two lights. i think people think we have like an instagram filter. it's real simple. we have two lights, one above me and one below me and we have a really good camera. that's the trick. >> a good camera. rachel: sounds like you have a really good husband. >> i have the most amazing

you. covid revealed the importance of governors, that they had power that -- to stop what the federal government was doing or change things in their state. so i think these races are really important. >> they are really important and let's think about what some of the issues are. first of all, crime. crime is really top of the list for a lot of voters today and who is really in charge of your state's safety precautions and everything else? it is crime. in blue states like new york we're seeing that become a real problem for democrats but the second one that you're kind of referencing is education. glenn youngkin won a very surprising race in virginia because of education and a lot of these republican candidates are out there reminding voters that their schools were shut down. tudor dixon scored a big win when g gretchen whitmer said our schools were shut down for two or three months. that was simply a lie. you can't fool parents. you can fool people about a lot of things. you can't fool parents about

what their kids are learning or not learning. rachel: because they were home with them. >> they saw what was happening. rachel: they saw it. what races are you interested in terms of governors. >> in particular, arizona and georgia. i'm a big fan of kari lake. she exhumes something that is uniquely different. rachel: we saw that. >> absolutely. i think that's what america needs overall. i think we need individuals who are understanding, who are em pathetic to people. right now, you have the democratic party pushing abortion, abortion, aborings, -- aboabortion down the throats of americans. people have said it's not a significant issue right now. inflation is, jobs and crime. those are he key important issues. when you have the president going on the tour, talking about -- reminding people what republicans did for abortion. that's not important to people. rachel: it's interesting you say that. they are talking about abortion. one of the swing votes that

hasn't been talked enough about is the catholic vote. there's a survey that came out, there's a lot of cross-over with the catholic vote with hispanics who don't like abortion but also they are just a working class vote. so talk to me about that. >> and people forget, it's a quarter of the country, a quarter of voters are catholics. it's a very big number. joe biden pretends to be a he devout cat lick. catholic. where do his views line up with catholics. not on abortion. joe biden is espousing abortion with no limits up to nine months. cardinal dolan came out attacking the law as being inhumane. it truly is inhuman. the hispanic voters toned be more conservative -- tend to be more conservatives than democrats are today. in a state where catholic vote is going against joe biden,

hispanics are a pretty big part of that even in georgia where it is 5% of voters. rachel: a lot of catholics are having buyer's remorse on joe biden. >> 12.2% of catholics strongly approve of what joe biden is doing. they are frustrated right now and they have talked about their key issues. they have said it's inflation, it is jobs. the reality is when you cannot put food on the table as you used to be able to do, so quickly and swiftly, with ease. now you have to get a second job to make ends meet. people are tired. he's not meeting the needs. he's not a people's president so-to-speak. rachel: so many working class families going to food banks. it's a terrible time right now in america. thanks for joining us. we're looking forward tour pre -- forward to your predictions coming to pass on election day which is just around the corner. thanks for of n joining this morning. inflation now so bad most

laptops, hang on, i'm just getting going here, fossil fuels are used in mris, pacemakers, iv bags, surgical instruments, wait, there's more. stethoscopes, prosthetics, hearing aids, glasses and pete, you're a superior athlete from your college days i won't say where, tennis racquets, golf ball, golf clubs, tents, tires, ball point pens. you see where i'm going on this. the first thing i think that the republican congress should do when the calvary comes and they take power january 3rd and i think they're going to go there is they're going to take the handcuffs off of the war against fossil fuels. they will launch a permitting bill which will allow permits and pipelines and fracking and shortages in home heating oil which you probably know about, natural gas is short. we have two weeks of diesel supplies. if you can believe that.

which is going to be a supply chain problem. two weeks of diesel supplies. it sounds like hr-1 and s-1, a big republican permitting bill. that will lower inflation. that will increase growth. but my point is, in everyday life we need our fossil fuel resources and to talk about zero or net zero carbon is just nonsense. >> not to one up you here, larry, because you came up with all this info. diapers, pacifiers, toys, soaps that people at a home i'm a big hand washer, very important. aspirins, pharmaceuticals, the list goes on. so when petroleum is more expensive or we're not producing it here, do those items get more expensive as well. >> sure. the costs are passed along. that's one of the reasons why the spike up in energy prices over the last two years has been killing family budgets. i mean, and they're having to make tradeoffs.

look, here's another one for you, pete. fertilizers. food. fertilizers require, right, fertilizers require fossil fuels. so when you look at the cpi under biden the last, whatever, 18 or 19 months, grocery prices are up, i don't know, i think 15 or 16% or 17%. so the point is, all of this green new deal radical stuff which w would not just allow renewables to grow side-by-side with fossils, they want to end fossils. you can't do that. everyday life is too dependent on fossils. it would take 100 years or would take 200 years. i mean, i'm not exaggerating. so it doesn't make any sefnls it's damaging to the economy. it's jacked up the inflation rate. it's damaged family budgets enormously. it's caused wages -- people are working hard, doing the best

morning futures, maria bartiromo. you don't see this often, day one, all of you, you're out. maria: it's true, will. good morning to you. look, i think that elon musk seems to be going about this the right way. he is doing a deep dive into the problems and what's going on at twitter and how he is going to bring this company back to free speech and a platform for all. we all know that there are political operatives running this company and they have been putting their political ideas before any real news or journalism and it has hardly been the public square for he everybody. so the fact that he came in and fired the ceo, the cfo right off the bat sends a strong message to the company and to the world that he is in charge and he is going to make some change. we all want a free speech platform where lots of ideas can be heard. but unfortunately, the powers that be at twitter have created something different and we all know it anecdotally myself.
