show much of anything for the working class of pennsylvania. and it was really kind of a joke, i think, the first time around he got into office with previous governor having issues with folks in the legislature and even protecting the staff. we found this guy to run and thought it would be funny to put this guy in office. i was on the verge of potentially becoming the u.s. senator. that is a scary thought. it does have radical policies, and again, can't back them up when he speaks. yes, issues, but certainly that is not the case why people should or shouldn't vote for him. again, it is just a figment of the imagination for the democratic party as to how we get people back to the party,

the working class, and it's still not working. >> todd: what has been the reaction in your community among the constituents for you to not endorse a member of your own party running for senate in your state? >> it really is a difficult position to be in. people come out and they feel that i am a traitor. that i'm not a party royalist anymore. and again, this is not just one candidate, fetterman. but a gradual progression away from the party because of the radical ideas that they keep forcing on everyone. and there is no -- they were supposed to be a party of inclusion and have everybody involved in things matter. that is really not the case. this is constantly forcing their agenda to people. in question it in the least or have a slightly different

opinion than basically ostracized. >> carley: the battle for the union vote mayor taylor is a big deal in pennsylvania. this is obviously a voting block that is historically voted democrat, but a lot of union workers build the democratic party is out of touch. so from your perspective, how big of a deal is this? do democrats have the risk of losing their stronghold over union voters? >> i think they do, especially in pennsylvania. especially where pennsylvania has always been in carbondale, the pioneers in the energy world with coal back in the 1800s. we were front and center when shale developed and the whole energy really exploded here. now, right after the election, we have many union

workers just so upset that they are shutting down pipeline projects. they are calling for less fracking and drilling and so on. but we are finally able to take advantage of the resources that are here for union pacific. they cut a slap in the face for the union party almost immediately after the election of president biden. again, who was supposed to be a champion. that is going to be -- >> todd: what i can't understand is why? why is the democratic party abandoning people like you, people from your town in favor of the very, very wealthy coastal elites? do you have any idea? >> i don't. and i think that is what everybody is really asking, like, how did we get to this point? i asked myself that. as a senate democrat my whole life, i'm 44, and people a lot older than me and feel the same way. where did this go wrong?

what was the final straw for you, sir? >> shows the stealing of cars, man. going 100 miles an hour. i mean, for an adult to go 100 miles an hour and if you hit something, there is no coming back from that. >> todd: why? why do you think the prosecutors keep letting him back out on the streets? >> has of june 1st, they changed the laws for the juvenile justice system to where they can only be charged with certain crimes at certain times. and they've got to go through so many steps for they can actually make a move to really do anything against a child now. it is ridiculous. >> todd: now, that is the charges with regard to your son. now, the system wants to charge you. what kind of system threatens u.s. the dad for trying to institute some tough love with

regard to his own kid? >> i have no idea, man. i've been begging for help for my child 12 and a half years. i have had petition signed by the judges to send him for a mental eval. i have no idea what to do. i have tried everything. i'm at the end of my wits. what else does a father do to save his child's life? i mean, he's living with the wrong crowd in a dangerous area. what else should i do, you know? >> todd: if your son keeps living like this, are you worried one day he woke not come home alive? >> 100%. the last time he disappeared for over a week and he came home and we had to rush him to the hospital they said if we would not have brought him in, he would be dead. my son was born with a chronic lung disease where he doesn't get a full expulsion of his lungs, and he is smoking weed all the time, smoking

cigarettes, and it had gotten so bad he could not breathe. and so, i didn't even know it was possible but he pretty much overdosed on the inhaler because he kept taking it thinking it would help and it didn't help. eventually, it affected his heart and his lungs were so bad that they pretty much had to put tubes and stuff down his throat and nose to help him breathe to keep him alive. and they said if i would not have brought him in within a few hours, he would be dead. >> todd: that is unbelievable. anybody watching this sees you, sir, a father with undying love for his child, trying to do whatever he can to keep him alive and yet, you are going up against the system that seems to not care about him. they just want to propose and propagate their woke policies. it is not just society at risk. what is your son your son at risk as well. this is a horrible story. we wish you the best,

in politics. once again, the race became about issues and then mandela barnes record became exposed, he lost support. and literally, again, the crime issue. a guy that said he wanted to defund the police. he was one of those folks for cash was fail. he also said he wanted to depopulate the prisons. he said we could lose a third of the prison population and it would not matter. but you know what, it matters to the voters. >> carley: it absolutely does an crime is a major issue in new york. this is a big race because lee zeldin has a possible shot at taking this. real clear politics average still has kathy hochul up seven points. how can we clear this margin? >> you know what i don't think he has to clear this march end. >> carley: you think it says wrong? speak with average ten to be -- three separate polls where he's had slight leads.

is that a belief a lot of parents have that police are pigs? >> absolutely not. and i think a larger issue setting misread a side we have a school board bound and determined to face her in this position. they have proven themselves making unreasonable decisions. i've also been made aware that staff, district employees, union members and no one was asked for input on this. the community obviously was not allowed to vote for a position that usually is elected. so, it appears our order was so a deal legibly -- they were determined to have missed read. >> todd: the district doesn't care what you think. they defended their choice of her appointment, during the interview process, she showed herself to be a thoughtful advocate for the students of the school district. we look forward to work with her

to press equity and inclusion issues in the school district. we believe she will be important voice moving forward. was she the best person that your town, your city could find for this job? >> i can imagine that any reasonable person would think that. this is just completely baffling. nobody can understand what has happened here. it is quite frankly really made a laughing stock of our school board. it is really unfortunate. it is unfortunate for the community and our students that deserve better representation. >> todd: are you facing backlash or so for speaking out? >> i have not personally. in fact, i have had a lot of people reach out to me saying, "thank you, thank you for speaking out. we don't know what to do about this." it is hard to speak out publicly but we are at a critical point here. we have to make a difference with the school boards because they are so ideologically driven
