play game three tonight. the first lady is going to be there. that will be exciting. the philadelphia phillies and the houston astros tied at one game apiece. >> the first lady will be there. her husband said wake me up before you go, go. >> join me on radio. guests herschel walker and tom cotton. stay within yourself. >> bill: thank you, guys, seven days, one week until americans votes. republicans headed for a decisive victory in the house according to our polling. i'm bill hemmer. hello to you. >> dana: i'm dana perino and this is "america's newsroom." with one week to go the power rankings are interesting and some people will be happy and some people not so happy. pay attention. our final set of fox news power rankings say republicans will extend their advantage in the house, a 19 seat majority
6:01 am
effectively cuts off any democratic path to victory. >> bill: for democrats to hold onto power not chamber they would need to win all 26 toss-up races and pick up another six districts republicans have the advantage. an extremely tall order. >> dana: the house may be slipping away but the senate is still anyone's game. it is expected to be decided by four key races, all of those in a dead heat with one week to go. >> bill: democrats separate to try to keep the upper chamber banking on former president obama to do this. he is going to nevada and arizona and later make a joint appearance in pennsylvania as they look to prevent republicans from flipping that senate seat. >> dana: the former president making it a point to address inflation and crime. two issues his party has shied away from. >> we have a plan. that's why democrats actually have plans. they pick up a few more seats in
6:02 am
both chambers they can force through extreme unpopular laws from education, to abortion. who will fight for working people struggling to pay their bills? inflation is a real problem right now. who will fight to keep you and your family safe? the republican politicians who want to flood our streets with more guns and voted against more resources for our police departments? joe is fighting for you every day. he has your back and doing everything he can to put more money in your pockets. >> dana: we've got fox team coverage to kick it off. kellyanne conway and josh kraushaar. >> our fox news power ranksings suggest republicans are winning on the biggest issues, economy and crime. it translates into a decisive house majority with 236 seats. a third major issue in the g.o.p. favor the border crisis. in terms of movement our power rankings forecast says for the democrats alaska at large is moving from toss-up to lean
6:03 am
democrat. arizona four from toss-up to lean democrat. kansas three from toss-up to lean democrat. nebraska to lean republican. pennsylvania 17 from toss-up to lean democrat. moving in the g.o.p. direction california 27 with republican mike garcia from toss-up to lean republican. california 47 from lean democrat to toss-up. colorado eight from toss-up to lean republican. connecticut five from lean democrat to toss-up. nevada free. new york 19 from toss-up to lean republican. north carolina 13 from toss-up to lean republican. organ five from toss-up to lean republican. virginia two from toss-up to lean republican. virginia seven from lean democrat to toss-up.
6:04 am
now let's look at the big house table. in the middle in gold are 26 toss-up races that will have a big impact on the final outcome. power rankings forecast of 236 republican seats. net gain of 23 seats assumes each party wins half the toss-up districts. if republican turnout is high the g.o.p. could win more than half of those districts and make it a red wave election. a strong democratic performance would see their party take the majority of toss-ups limiting republicans to 223 seats a single digit majority. republican map expands significantly in this forecast for example in new york where crime is the number one issue, particularly among independent voters. dana and bill. >> dana: thanks for the overview. >> bill: well done, mike. headline, the final power rankings give power in the house to the republicans. gop is over the magic number and
6:05 am
here is why. as michael is showing a democratic side of the ledger, this is the republican. toss-ups in gold denoted here are all on the democrat side. you have a tall order to try to hold onto power. you might be better off buying a lotto ticket. it is stacked against you as we have seen in the polls for several months now. advance it one time here. best case for republicans now 249. that would be a gain of 36 seats. that would be a pretty good argument for a red wave in 2022. on the senate side this has not changed in more than a month. democrats are solid in 47 seats. republicans solid in 49. four toss-ups. i'll explain what we're doing on the map here. best case scenario for republicans remember rick scott over the weekend said he believes and predicts republicans will gain 52 seats, maybe more. this is where he is getting that. best case scenario.
6:06 am
dems have a chance to keep the majority in the senate 51 democrats is how we break it down now. one more map. if you look at the eastern time zone and all these races, okay? in yellow are the clear toss-ups, georgia, nevada, arizona. you see the shades of red in here? the shades of red is where the action will be come election night next tuesday night. these are lean republican. we believe ron johnson has the edge in wisconsin and vance has the edge in wisconsin and budde has the advantage in north carolina. but who votes and who turns out will determine the ultimate outcome in these razor thin margins here. a lot about p.a. and georgia, arizona, nevada. what you don't see on this map is republicans have been talking about for the last week. they think they are in play in new hampshire. it is shaded in blue as a lean democrat. that could be again one of the
6:07 am
surprises come election night. with that as a background let's bring in our team josh and kellyanne. josh, go first. do you care to argue what we see and present or do you care to confirm? >> this is a pretty important government on the political map, bill. it is clear that republicans have the political momentum one week to go until election day. a lot of those house races you are talking about, those are biden districts moving a little bit in the lean republican category. the projection is for about 23 pickups for the republicans which would by any definition constitute a republican wave election. the bigger question, bill, is on the senate map where the macro environment is definitely with the republican party but still some questions about the republican candidates in states like pennsylvania and georgia and also the state of nevada. arizona as well. pennsylvania is going to be the
6:08 am
key battleground among all the big early calls, all the big east coast states. that's the bell weather of bell withers but pay attention to pennsylvania, georgia and nevada. whichever party takes two of those three senate races is very likely to hold the senate majority. >> dana: kellyanne top issues nationwide inflation and higher prices 89%, crime 79%. yet you had the governor of new york kathy hochul suggest it was a conspiracy that people thought crime was real. >> that's right. that will cost her, i think it's a blunder of proportion we saw from terry mccauliffe a year ago when he said i won't make the parents tell the teachers what to teach the kids. people remember that. lee zeldin crime is centerpiece and people see folks being pushed in the subway tracks and
6:09 am
know people -- crime as perception is reality. it's confounding the governor of new york would not see and express that. back to the map i think the projections power rankings and what bill and you and josh have said are all correct in this way. that's a real governing majority for republicans. not just a squeaker night where then you have to find a couple democratic votes here and there to pass anything. a larger governing majority than speaker pelosi has had. rolling out barack obama is a great idea. he is a popular messenger but a very pessimistic message. this is not vintage obama hope an change. he is on a recovery and rescue mission. instead of attacking crime, attacking inflation, he seems to be attacking republicans. that's what the democratic party beginning with president biden have done. last point about the "wall street journal" poll that came out. i'm just amazed the republicans are up two points in the generic
6:10 am
ballot. biden 45% disapproval rating. suburban women, 20% have shifted 26 points to the republicans and working class latino voters are also voting republican. that's not just a republican lead. that's a reassignment of voters to a conservative philosophy. >> dana: the changes they've seen in the last six weeks as maybe people were paying more attention and decided to know where they're going. it's like the political realignment an both sides seems to be working in the republican advantage. with president obama going to all those stops, is it too little too late for the democrats? >> number one. working class voters of all backgrounds and races are moving toward the republican party. if republicans have a big, big election night, it is going to be on the backs of hispanic voters who have moved more towards the republican party and small shifts in the african-american vote maybe more open to supporting some
6:11 am
republican candidates. it doesn't take a lot of movement for that to make a big impact on the political map. we've been talking about the new york governor's race. how is a state like new york so competitive? not just the suburbs. a lot of voters in the city disenchanted with the high crime, a lot of them non-white voters are moving toward lee zeldin toward the republican in that race and you see the pattern across the board in many of the battleground states. if republicans are able to make inroads even more so with the working class voters, with hispanic voters you'll see a big red wave election. >> bill: last point. don't overlook pennsylvania. both parties see it as their way to control the u.s. senate. the gazette endorsed barack obama in 2008, 2012, hillary clinton in 2016. they went for trump in 2018. now they're going for dr. oz.
6:12 am
show us the medical records and if you don't it gives us the impression you have something to hide. >> a remarkable endorsement. i read it twice this morning. donald trump was the first republican to receive their endorsement since 1972. his economic record and his record on trade. this is western pennsylvania. that's a very important issue obviously. two things about this. in that endorsement of mehmet oz they say fetterman's health may not be the issue but the impulse to conceal and mistrust of voters. they basically say he doesn't have a job with many responsibilities. they feel oz in that debate and overall with his own medical records is being more transparent and forthcoming with the voters, important to voters. i think that congressional district with -- it is a bluer district than the state of washington and held by a popular democratic legislator for years
6:13 am
but the rcc is investing money because you have the endorsement of oz. i think western pennsylvania is in play. >> bill: that's why we play the games, right, to find out. great stuff josh and kellyanne. thank you for coming on today. >> dana: tune in for tonight's special report spotlight, the ohio town hall. democrat tim ryan going head-to-head with republican j.d. vance. that's tonight at 6:00 p.m. eastern right here on fox news. >> master manipulators. they have this conspiracy going all across america to try and convince people that a democratic states are not as safe. >> bill: that is kathy hochul accusing republicans of making false claims about crime. we have details. >> dana: after voters have been saying for months inflation is their top concern now democrats are suddenly pivoting from social issues to the economy.

people see and feel your interest in the job can make a difference. watch new york state come tuesday night. >> dana: the supreme court heard arguments in two landmark affirmative action cases yesterday dealing with policies at harvard and the university of north carolina. they could change the way race is used to college admissions. our next guest is a "wall street journal" editorial board member saying it is a way to favor some races at the expense of others. bill mccarne. i mostly know about this lawsuit and issue because reading your columns over the years. you have been a committed person to making sure this is explained fully to the american people. the headline is affirmative action exposes the secret meaning of equity. what you mean by that and how important was that hearing yesterday? >> it was very important, dana. what i mean is that when people hear the word equity, they think
6:23 am
of what the dictionary says, equal and fair treatment for all. but really, equity is about favoring some races over another. and the ones that are disfavored by affirmative action today in modern american universities are asian-americans. and it is really insidious the way they do it. in its history harvard used character tests to keep out jews, to reduce the number of jews. today they use personality tests to keep out asians because they all score very low in these tests. it is deliberate and done because they want a certain racial outcome and they use -- they rig the system to get it. >> dana: justice thomas said this. listen here. >> i've heard the word diversity quite a few times and i don't have a clue what it means.
6:24 am
it seems to mean everything for everyone. >> dana: i want to show you the poll here. race in college admissions majority favor excluding race in admissions at 63%. do you think that the supreme court is going to strike this down? and what is the fallout or the benefit to all students or asian-american students if that happens? >> i do think they are going to strike it down. the question is how far they go. whether they declare race preferences unconstitutional or just a violation of the 1964 civil right act. it could be very far. the problem is that the universities will probably try to come up with another way to achieve their purposes. but what it has exposed is that the admissions processes are so secret and designed to be secret
6:25 am
so people can't see what they are doing. and they had a hard time defending it. chief justice roberts pinned them down that sometimes it means discriminating by race, and i think they don't really have an intellectual defense of it. and so i hope it goes. it is very unconstitutional. it gets us into all sorts of things. justice roberts, the chief justice, has referred to the sordid business of dividing us by race in other cases. i hope he takes that seriously and i hope they act. they seem very skeptical of harvard and north carolina's case yesterday. >> dana: it is -- could be an earthquake, right, if they decide to do this, then maybe there is a movement forward. i read this morning somebody from an asian american group said one of the outcomes of this should be that everyone across the board improves k-12
