the current vice president kamala harris. they will also be appearing with letitia james. they are trying to prop up all the democrats. with just five days left. that would suggest she, hochul, is in trouble. >> ainsley: i don't know how many people are going to go see them though. >> steve: it is new york there are a lot of democrats here. >> ainsley: that's true. the front cover of the "new york post" deals with an issue that is affecting every family here in new york city, especially. and that is crime. if you look at this hochul failed kira. this is the mother of kira, she was killed. her name is kira benfield. she was a buffalo mom and she was 30 years old. she was allegedly killed by estranged husband on october 5th and her mother is blaming new york's governor because he had been released from jail less than 24 hours before for savagely beating keaira. she posted that 8 minute video on facebook punching her,

kicking her and slapping her relentlessly. he was arrested. within 24 hours he was out because the charges that he -- that he was charged with, were so -- were low level charges and they prevented the judge from setting bail, including third degree assault. fourth degree criminal mischief. second degree. >> brian: during the debate. lee zeldin brought this up why is this so important to you this whole thing about crime. this is ha why it is important. when people are arrested, which isn't often enough they are let out which is way too much. tammy hudson. >> ainsley: the mother brian the mother says she should be charged for the crime. she is also responsible for the crime meaning the governor. we need to be heard as people who are going through it. steps need be taken, i'm sorry, oh, i'm sorry, is there anything i can do? well, when there is nothing you can do because that person won't ever come back again. she failed me. she let me down and my daughter down.

and she needs to make a change with bail reform, which she revved to do. in fact, when the mayor went up to albany, after winning the election and said we have got to do something about bail reform. they basically laughed in his face. they just mocked him. and he came back down and he said, you know, albany, the capital of new york is not changing. when will this governor realize it has to change? this is like seven or eight drafts who are now siding when lee zeldin. >> steve: i got the answer it will change when lee zeldin wins. he will fire the manhattan d.a. and people in this state will realize you know what? this new coshocton bail thing it was an interesting experiment but it did not work. and that is what current governor of the great state of florida ron desantis said yesterday with sean hannity, when he istalking about in thise zeldin, who has been right at the forefront of crime because a

lot of seats in blue states like california, like governor newsom who is having his little rivalry with texas and florida while so many people are dissatisfied in heir state. the governor of new york is going to lose a lot of seats because she has no ground game. kept all the money to herself and does almost no campaigning when she does campaign she talks about abortion whether that's about fifth on everyone's list in new york. >> ainsley: yeah, inflation and crime number one on everyone's list here. i would say crime here probably even more than inflation. >> steve: all depends on who you talk. to say some of those polls third or fourth on the list is the threat to democracy. i don't quite -- that seems pretty broad. i don't know exactly what different people say is the threat to democracy but axios has been talking to some people. democrats in particular about how they are worried about what is going to be hang in the midterms six days from now. and what -- what a strategist

says who is working on house campaigns says there apparently is a direct correlation between the performance of kathy hochul and gavin newsom and the effect it's having on house candidates. i think republicans are noticing this, too. especially in new york. they are not even running ads anymore with pelosi and biden. running ads with kathy hochul. unless hochul and newsom pick it up, we are going to lose house seats. yesterday "the washington post" had an item that said apparently joe biden definitely is going to run, unless something unforeseen happens, he has been working with a small group of advisers, including jill biden, ron klain, anita dunn, they reached out to former obama and clinton campaign re-election people to get them on board. at the same time, yesterday, gavin newsom, who we told you a couple weeks ago was going to run, he says now is not the moment to run. so, joe biden sounds like he is
