decriminalize things. it's ironic that joe biden gave his speech from the city's main train station. the epicenter for homelessness and you can't even get coffee there because starbucks had to close their store there. >> laura: 5 years ago it was a great place to have lunch. it's different now. this morning on cnn hillary clinton had a different take on the crime wave issue. >> when they talk about crime, they are trying to gin up all kinds of fear and anxiety in people. they are not dealing with it. they are not trying to tackle it. i view it as an effort to scare voters. >> laura: are you trying to scare voters? >> no, i think voters are scared of democratic policies that led to this crime wave in american.

a wide open southern border with 5 million illegal aliens crossings. democrats called for defunding the police. they release prisoners. voters know this is the obvious results of soft on crime policies from the democrats. >> laura: i think the senate will go republican on tuesday. get out and vote. a lot of republicans are concerned if the republicans take control of the senate, they won't do the aggressive oversight necessary at the pentagon. i know your military background. this pentagon needs to be cleaned out. republicans say we can't defunding the pentagon. what can we do? >> the biden administration needs oversight to include the department of defense.

write it? >> i wrote it after the afghanistan fiasco last year. i wanted to layout the case for how the left is ambivalent about america. >> laura: how did we have that fiasco and no one lost their job? get this book. senator, great to see you. the democrats have a bold strategy on crime for the mid-term cycle. pretend it's not happening or blame republicans. how is that a political strategy. according to pugh 61% of voters say violent crime is important to them in the mid-term vote. the group that has the most people feeling that way? black americans. 81% say violent crime is important to the mid-term vote.

compared to only 34% of liberal voters. joining us is the florida congr congressman. what does this tell us that white liberals are going away from reality? >> it confirmed what we have always known. in america when you have violent crime in democrat run cities, it's because you have liberal politician whose do not care about the conditions of what is happening in urban communities. most are populated with black americans. i grew up in brooklyn, new york. my mother and i wanted safe streets. those are the streets i walked to go to school and to walk to the playground to play basketball. black americans have to deal with this because of the democrats that run their cities.

they are link to the liberals instead of the people. >> laura: this morning in new york, a homeless man with 25 priors was busted for the brutal rape of a woman and choked her until he passed out and robbed her. the left says they care about a woman's choice but not the choice to jog without being attacked. >> yes, they are selective. that's a horrific story. here in los angeles only a few minutes away from where i live a young woman was stabbed to death in broad daylight while working at a furniture store. crime in major big cities that are democrat run, people are emboldened to continue to commit crimes.

i worked with police officers in south central l.a. they said people don't care about the police. police are demoralized. >> laura: congressman, today fetterman addressed this crime issue. >> in this race we are the only candidate that has hands on experience fighting against crime. compared to dr. oz who has never done any kinds of hands of approach in fighting against crime let alone being successful. >> laura: his idea of crime fighting is chasing down an innocent african-american jogger with a shotgun. not talking about his career. >> he still hasn't apologized for chasing down a black man jogging through the neighborhood

with a shotgun. released a third of the violent criminals from prison. that's great, john. this is a joke. we know fetterman doesn't have the capabilities to be in the u.s. senate. everybody wants him to get better but his policies are radical and they hurt the families in philadelphia and in pittsburgh and all points in between with his radical out of control criminal reform policies which only helped the criminals and they leave the citizens behind. >> laura: omla, we just found out that oprah came into pennsylvania to endorse fetterman? will she put fetterman over the finish line after his stellar debate performance? >> i hope not, laura. the democratic strategy in mid-terms is to belittle and demean their opposition and roll
