4:06 am
children. truly reprehensible. and this has led to a cascade of consequences for me and my family where i have received a very credible death threat. this was followed up by my opponent utilizing very poor judgment to actually shoot an ad out in front of one of my homes and display that home for all to see in the world. i mean, in the era of steve scalise and brett kavanaugh and now paul pelosi, this is just unbelievable to me. and he also used pictures of of my family in a complaint that he filed over the course of this campaign. and then two weeks ago, my parents are watching tv at 11:00 at night, just sitting in their living room and a bullet cracks through their home only 20 feet away from where my kids were sleeping that night. this -- this is politics at its worst. and the reason it's this way is because my opponent is desperate to do anything that he possibly can to talk about anything other
4:07 am
than what actually matters in this campaign, which is the economy. inflation, rampant crime, declining he had carriage outcomes for our kids. the crisis at the southern border. it doesn't matter what he has to manufacture, is he willing to trade my security and my family's security to score political points and it's reprehensible. >> will: hey, pat. i understand and appreciate you saying the investigation is yet to unfold. it's pretty amazing that you have already received what you described as credible death threats in the lead-up to this incident. i'm just curious. do your parents live in a high crime neighborhood? is this something that would have happened in the normal course of life living there? i don't know how long they have lived there. or is this -- is thi blue? lookn beret, i'm used to getting shot at. i'm okay with getting shot at. i'm not okay with my family getting shot at. it's another level. and when you take the totality

of what has happened across this campaign with the lies, and the demonization of my character, it just none of it adds up. folks just don't have bullets passing through their windows at 11:00 at night while they are watching television. while their kid -- while their kid, me, is running for congress, while my kids are sleeping at their house. the odds on that are just super long. >> katie: unbelievable. pat, you mentioned before this horrific incident occurred you had been wearing a bullet proof vest to your campaign events. your children are now in hiding. but you say that you are not going to be intimidated. how do you stay the course and continue to focused on the issues that you think are important to the voters? >> look, i can only control what i control. and that is my vision and my agenda for this district. i'm here to get this economy back on track, to tamp inflation down, so to stops crushing the

middle class. i want to secure our streets and i want more than 30% of our kids in the charlotte mechanic alanberg school district to read at grade level. that's my vision. i'm asking you guys to join me. at the end of the day, i think that the people of the 14th district are going to see through all of this. this is just a distraction from the things that truly matter and i hope that they hold my opponent accountable for his poor judgment because quite frankly, it ought to be disqualifying for holding public office. >> brian: pat, he has got to be worried buff it's a very democratic district and there hasn't been a lot of polling. but to get this aggressive with ads, obviously you are a there t to his political future. best of luck to try to continue to serve the country and that's all. you just want to keep your family safe. thanks for sharing your story, pat. >> thank you guys so much. >> will: you know, the investigation on this particular incident, the investigation on paul pelosi, many of these instances motivation still need to be determined but anecdotally
4:10 am
it just does seem that political violent obviously steve scalise, brett kavanaugh, it does seem to be on the rise. and this could be yet another example of that and it's fascinating when you put it if it's not political violence it's certainly crime. another example of crime everywhere on the rise. >> what you were getting at with that question lee zeldin had the shooting in front of his house. they weren't targeting his family but a lot of people get hit in the crossfire and that's what happened. you wonder but this looks like it's targeted. >> speaking of lee zeldin, his democratic opponent, governor of new york kathy hochul is finally admitting that crime -- that the state has a crime problem. >> i acknowledge there is a crime issue. that's why it's not new to me because it's election time. i have been working on this throughout my entire time as governor. we worked so hard on this issue getting guns off the street. but now to come down to that i'm soft on crime. he is soft on guns, and that is a real problem. >> will: that's a pivot by the

4:14 am
for governor is saying. >> people see the videos, the pictures. they see the news reports. they want leadership. they want action, solutions. zero tolerance. taking back our streets. this is hell. but, instead what we are getting is that i don't understand why this is so important to you, congressman zeldin. well, when she says that to me, she is saying that to everybody else. that's why we are doing as well as we are. because democrats and independence are agreeing with us that we need to save this state. >> brian: i would love for lee zeldin to call up bill bratton and ray kelly and say listen, you did it before. we need to do it again. kept the city safe the last 25 years. still here, you are back. they are engaged. i have him on the radio all the time. still engaged in what is happening. he knows the formula in boston, los angeles, and let him do it in new york again. >> will: head over to carley shimkus who has additional headlines for us. >> i do from crime guys to the border. mexican authorities stop a tractor-trailer crammed with more than 120 migrants heading to the u.s. southern border. the group trapped for more than

quviviq works differently than medications you may have taken in the past. quviviq is thought to target one of the biological causes of insomnia - overactive wake signals. do not take quviviq if you have narcolepsy. don't drink alcohol while taking quviviq or drive or operate heavy machinery until you feel fully alert. quviviq may cause temporary inability to move or talk or hallucinations while falling asleep or waking up. quviviq may cause sleepiness during the day. quviviq may lead to doing activities while not fully awake that you don't remember the next day like walking, driving and making or eating food. worsening depression including suicidal thoughts may occur. most common side effects are headaches and sleepiness. it's quviviq. ask your doctor if it's right for you. ooh, the chewy app. clumping litter. salmon paté? we have enough to splurge on catnip toys! i feel so accomplished. pet me please! great prices. happy pets. chewy.
