>> the final countdown to midterm election day is on, as candidates are out making their final pitches to voters this weekend, including in pennsylvania where you're looking live president obama speaking at a john fetterman rally in pittsburgh. later in the day, president biden will join them at a rally in philadelphia. not to be outdone, donald trump is set to campaign for mehmet
9:01 am
oz in latrobe at 7 p.m. eastern. welcome to fox news live. i'm griff jenkins, and anita. >> we'll bring you the latest in the g.o.p. fight for control of the house and senate and that contentious match-up for the pennsylvania senate is shaping up to be one of the closest in the country. and we have fox team coverage with bryan llenas in philadelphia and rich edson in pittsburgh. and i can see you've got the former president behind you there speaking. >> good afternoon, anita. former president barack obama 50 yards behind me. take the stage the first of two events. here he's campaigning for john fetterman and then out east and he'll join the gubernatorial
9:02 am
campaign. and he's talking about the erosion of civility in our politics and now he seems to be getting more political on the race issues here. let's take an issue. >> inflation is a problem, not just here in america, it's worldwide and it has to do with the legacy of the pandemic. it wrecked supply chains, disrupted the economy and the war in ukraine that sent energy prices through the roof and grocery prices going up, gas prices going up, a bite out of their paychecks and it hurts, i get that, but the question you've got to ask yourself is, who is going to give you something better. the republican like to talk about it, but what is their answer? what's their economic policy? they want to gut social security, they want to gut medicare and get rich folks and
9:03 am
corporations more tax cuts. by the way, don't boo. vote. they can't hear you boo, but they'll hear you vote. [app [applause] >> now it should come as no surprise that the republicans want to cut taxes for big corporations that's the solution to everything. when inflation is low they say cut taxes, let's cut taxes, when it's the evers they want to cut taxes on the wealthy, if there was an asteroid headed toward earth, they'd say now what we need? tax cuts for the rich. i mean, it's nice that you've got one answer to every problem. we've got -- remember when--
9:04 am
>> so that's former president barack obama talking about an issue that there has been criticism among even a number of democrats saying that democrats haven't gone on the offensive on inflation, on the economy, issues that there's been criticism that they've been spending the summer avoiding talking too much about issues like abortion. welsh the former president discussing that right now as john fetterman, the democratic nominee appeared just ahead of this. fetterman has caught criticism for failing to release his medical records in full, remember he had that stroke in may and had trouble speaking and trouble processing audio and he's been talking about his position on fracking, the debate where he said he's never been for fracking and tried to clarify saying he's always been for fracking as long as environmental concerns have been addressed. these are the final issues playing into this campaign,
9:05 am
that are playing into fetterman's campaign and he had a substantial lead over the summer that has narrowed now in much of the polling if you're looking at to polls that really show this race within the m margin of error and begins in pittsburgh and over to philadelphia to close this out. back to you. >> rich edson in pennsylvania for us. thank you for that live report. griff: anita and rich, and now we turn over to bryan llenas in and dr. mehmet oz. and they're looking at the trump voters who have been less enthusiastic about supporting him according to the latest polls. today former president trump will be hosting a rally for oz in an attempt to boost him in what is a tossup race against lt. governor john fetterman.
9:06 am
it was trump's endorsement that led to dr. oz narrowly winning here by less than a thousand votes. and he'll appear with gubernatorial doug mastriano, who is seen by too extreme by voters and losing by double digit races and he could, but courting moderate. >> we've got to unite, i'm a heart surgeon not a politician. in order for us the biggest problems we've got in my case which is a broken heart. i've got to bring us together, not divided. right now in america we need a sense of balance in washington. washington is getting it wrong with all of these radical ideas. >> dr. oz is now attacking president biden after he pledged to shut down america's
9:07 am
coal plants in a speech yesterday. oz tweeting this morning, president biden and john fetterman's policies have dismantled america's energy independence to satisfy the radical left. i will fight to unleash the full power of american energy production so that families, our nation and our economy can thrive. energy obviously a huge topic in this tossup race. pennsylvania, the second largest natural gas provider in the united states and moment heating costs are expected to go up somewhere between 11 and 23% on average for homes here in the northeast, griff. griff: bryan llenas live for us in philly, it's a close one in the keystone case. we want to go now to joliet, illinois, president biden talking about lowering drug prices and protecting social security and medicare. let's listen in. >> no one ever doubts what i say, sometimes i say all what i mean. think about in this district
9:08 am
alone, more than 100,000 people over 65 in district. some people have means. others are living day a day and social security and medicare. that's why lauren and i are going to keep protecting and strengthen these programs. i believe that hard work should be rewarded and i believe no one, leave no one behind, i mean, it no american, no american who's worked and struggled that's why, that's why with the help of lauren and members of your delegation, we pass the inflation reduction act because it made medicare stronger. look, take prescription drugs, folks, we pay the highest price for prescription drugs of any-- any developed nation in the world. same, same drug. same exact one made by the same
9:09 am
company sold in chicago and sold in paris and it's cheaper in paris. not a joke. no rationale for it, none. and many of these drugs they come up with are consequence of government research. i'm glad they came up with them. for years we fought to give medicare the power to negotiate what they pay for prescription drugs. just like we do for the veterans administration, the va's been able to, as they should. you want to sell us figuratively speaking, aspirin penny apiece, half a penny, don't want to sell it to us, go somewhere else. for years, big pharma has blocked us from being able to negotiate that. only exception, but not this year, we finally beat big pharma, finally, finally. >> and that's president biden
9:10 am
taking on the medicare companies, and you see there, the medicare prices social security not polling at the top of issues that voters care about, but the president taking a firm stance saying his administration has delivered in that regard. we'll continue to watch all of these live events as the day continues through. anita. >> good stuff, griff. in arizona, arizona democratic senator mark kelly rallying in tucson and defending his senate seat against republican challenger blake masters and voters are deciding on an issue that could change the voter requirements. and kelly from phoenix, what a beautiful shot there. what is happening there today? >> i know, it is beautiful out here in arizona. good afternoon to you, anita. we've got ourselves a tossup according to the latest polling in the arizona senate race. you've got blake masters gaining on incumbent mark
9:11 am
kelly, especially with libertarian candidate marc victor dropping out earlier this week. they're out there talking to independent voters about the issues they think are going to matter most. remember, those voters make up over a third of the electorate in arizona. we've been on the ground and hearing that the most important issues are inflation, border security, and abortion. now, masters is really zeroing in on the border, holding a round table with those on the front lines yesterday and kelly is seeking to make this election choice about abortion. one issue though constantly coming up that we're hearing amongst voter is election integrity, there's a ballot proposition 309 and seems to change the requirements for voter identification for mail-in voting you have to provide your date of birth and voter i.d. number and then the folks counting that would have to match the signature on that ballot with what's on your voter registration record and then for in-person, you would have to show a photo i.d., it would eliminate the alternative of i.d. that you're able to
9:12 am
show now instead of the photo. here is what voters are telling us about that? >> i just want to know that my voice is being heard and i don't see any reason why you wouldn't be showing your, you know, identification and proving that you are an american citizen. >> they want to make sure that, you know, what they have to say gets counted. it's very important. it's like, it's very much a priority. i think it's one of number one things here in arizona. >> and the g.o.p. candidates are really leaning into that. and we were covering a rally with kari lake and blake masters and they were trying to use that passion to mobilize people to get out in person and vote on tuesday and we'll see how that turns out, anita. >> kelly o'grady liv in phoenix. griff. griff: to the peach state we go.
9:13 am
republican senator candidate hershel walker wrapping up in athens along with florida rick scott and walker campaigned with burt jones. as polls show the race for the senate seat is continuing to tighten. aishah hasnie has the latest from the peach tree state. >> hey there, griff. senator rick scott says the majority runs through georgia. of course, he is the nrsc chair and the man in charge of securing a g.o.p. majority in the senate and he was campaigning here in athens, georgia, with hershel walker today as the latest fox news polling shows walker has the momentum heading into election day. he's still one point behind incumbent senator rafael warnock, but closed the gap from the five-point margin back in september. this is a big win for team walker, but neither candidate is polling over 50% so we're
9:14 am
looking at a runoff. i caught up with scott before the event today to ask him if he expects enough of a republican turnout on tuesday to avoid that? >> are you ready for a runoff? >> we're ready for a runoff, but i believe we're not going to have a runoff. he's beginning every week. >> do you think they're doing a good job with voter turnout and getting out the vote. that's what's going to matter the end of this. >> the big thing, get out to vote. get your family to vote, your friends to vote and that's happening across the country. >> on the other side, griff, incumbent rafael warnock fighting for every single vote out there. he's stumping in the atlanta metro area today and this week, he had some help from senator jon ossoff on the trail as he courts independents, split voters, too, here in georgia, selling himself the candidate that can reach across the aisle. >> and the fact is, i'm the 18th most bipartisan senator in the senate.
9:15 am
i know how to work with people on the other side of the aisle to get things done for the people of georgia. meanwhile, my opponent is campaigning all across georgia with one of the most divisive people in the congress. >> and griff, because this race is see tight, neck and neck, we've seen a lot of big names thrown on the campaign trail in the last couple of days. we saw tulsi gabbard here yesterday, nikki haley is here campaigning with walker tomorrow, griff. griff: aishah hasnie there, and there's the contest again the d bulldogs and the vols. >> always bringing it back to sports. and joining us now, republican
9:16 am
strategist and former joe manchin's campaign director and capital llc partner, gentlemen, great to see you here in person today. appreciate it, a big weekend. jonathan to you first. we've seen a shift in the polls in the last couple of weeks in many so of the key states. what do you think accounts for that as we reach the 11th hour? how are voters really listening into the messages coming out and what's really important to them as we approach election day? >> i think all elections narrow as you get closer. unfortunately for everybody who's worked on the campaign, most voters aren't paying attention to you in april and may and they start paying attention now and that's why you see the polls tightening, you see morallies, more tv ads, you can't turn on the tv in a battle ground state or district and not see eight ads every, you know, commercial break. so that's why i think that people are starting to take notice now and that's why you're seeing celebrities out there. that's why you're seeing former
9:17 am
president obama out there and why donald trump is going to be in pennsylvania. >> lots of big people on the campaign trail and let's put up a poll from georgia and just heard from our reporter aishah ha hasnie, things are close there. the incumbent rafael warnock 44% and hershel walker 43%. he has really gained a lot of ground in the past couple of weeks. colin, what do you make of that? how has he been able to gain so much territory in these closing weeks? >> well, jonathan is right, these polls tighten toward the end as people start paying attention and one of the things that we've seen time after time after time, whether it's inflation numbers, whether it's the interest rates, whether it's yesterday's job numbers went in the wrong direction, the economic warning signs are flashing and there's an avalanche of bad economic news out there that we see in poll after poll after poll that is drawing republicans and helping propel them. 2022 is poised to end as it started, which is a sizable republican wave and these races
9:18 am
we're talking about, these were always the big four races and quite possible the republicans sweep the board and propel themselves to majority come january. >> yeah, poll after poll does show the economy is the top issue, economy and inflation, and let's put up the polls from pennsylvania, another key state in this election and really, a close race there between john fetterman and mehmet oz. so, mehmet oz was always trailing in this race and now you see him closing the gap. he's four points behind, but, you know, there's still a few days ago and bringing in donald trump to campaign, why is pennsylvania so important this time? >> pennsylvania's always important. pennsylvania is your bellwether state. you know, i think we remember back in like 2006 and 2008 we use today say it's ohio and i think that tim ryan is going to prevail there, but pennsylvania is really showing what the country is about. you have pittsburgh and philadelphia, but then you have a red area in the middle. i think dr. oz ran a good
9:19 am
campaign. the problem is he's going to stand with two very divisive people right before the election if i'm a voter in pennsylvania i look at the democratic said and i have joe biden, barack obama, fetterman and shapiro versus mastriano who stormed the capitol. you don't want what your closing message should being. dr. oz has been smart in campaigning with him and i think it's a horrible mistake to be on stage with him right before voters decide. >> i want to ask you a question about something in the news today. you oohed to work for senator joe manchin and the other day president biden talked about wanting it shut down coal fire plants around the country and joe manchin spoke out about that saying it's a mistake, he wants an apology. what's your take on that? >> joe manchin does what senators should do. he's standing up for his state and what he thinks is best for his state and the country. he's been telling people, i'm willing to look at alternative energies, i'm willing to invest in it, that's what the ira did,
9:20 am
but you can't get away from coal. we still need coal. if you're going to turn your lights on, you're going to power the country you you're going to need some coal for some time and i think that joe manchin spoke for a lot of voters in the country, this is not the wrong time and i hope he gets the apology. >> interesting to see what happens there. colin, let's put up one more poll and let's put up something from arizona. that's another tight race there and also, one of the key races we've been looking at. mark kelly has been leading the entire time, but blake masters creeping up on him. how do you think that will go. >> this race was written off by republicans and come on late, one of the reasons and the top of the ticket and the attention around kari lake who has become a natural superstar before she's won her election and by con katie hobbs has struggled to articulate a message and don't discount the southern
9:21 am
border. we talk about the immigration issue, it's not esoteric for people from arizona and it's real. and you've got vice-president kamala harris that the border is secure and. >> we heard that from our reporter kelly o'grady, too. thank you. griff: and the border crisis is one of the hottest topics, more on that coming up. ur goals. i can make this work. it can help you reach them with confidence. no wonder more than 9 out of 10 of our clients are likely to recommend us. ameriprise financial. advice worth talking about. okay everyone, our mission is complete balanced nutrition. together we support immune function. supply fuel for immune cells and sustain tissue health. ensure with twenty-five vitamins and minerals, and ensure complete with thirty grams of protein.

>> and welcome back. you're looking live at images from our southern border. migrant encounters continue to soar as voters in border states head to the ballot box. our bill melugin is on the ground in eagle pass, texas with more details on this. bill, what's happening there today? >> well, the record-setting numbers aren't slowing down, neither are the number of massive groups crossing the border illegally. case in point, take a look at this video our drone team shot this morning before sunrise in normandy, texas. yet another massive group much several hundred illegal immigrants crossing into the normandy area. this is the fifth day in a row we've seen this happen at this exact same time. at this exact same spot in normandy. you can see them wading across
9:26 am
the rio grande, shuffling into texas where they eventually crawl underneath a fence put up by the state of texas. there's no resistance on either side of the border. we've been seeing this day after day. this second piece of video, same act location before sunrise, a bigger group of several hundred migrants crossing illegally, once again into the normandy, texas area and you'll just so how nonchalant it is, they walk single file into the state of texas, giving themselves up to the state of texas and not trying to run away, they believe in this administration, if they give themselves up on u.s. soil, they'll be processed and released instead of being deported and in this section mostly, cuba and nicaragua are not subject to 42 and likely not going to be removed.
9:27 am
and again, yesterday, another enormous group by eagle pass. two hours after the thermal video we showed you. a couple hundred migrants, single adults and not seeing the family units like last summer, but a source tells fox news, within the last month alone since october 1st here in this del rio sector, already have been 50,000 illegal crossings. we continue to see this every day and sometimes multiple times a day and nonstop since the springtime. border patrol when they have to deal with the big groups, it stretches their resources thin. they've got to get sucked up doing paper work and processing and transport. when that happens, there are fewer agents on the front lines able to patrol the border elsewhere. we'll send it back to you. >> it's shocking how routine it is for all of these people to just cross the border like that. thank you for bringing us the
9:28 am
images. and bill melugin, thank you. griff. griff: anita and bill for more on this, we'll be joined by acting ice director tom homan. and you heard bill's great reporting and just mentioning in del rio sector this fiscal year essentially 30 days, 50,000 in just del rio. border-wide i've been told it's 200,000. seems that things are not slowing down. >> and my sources says about 210,000, 30 to 50,000, and a quarter million. a quarter million people in one month. the scariest number is 86,000 got-aways. last month 86,000 people entered this country. didn't turn themselves in, to claim asylum and be released. they avoided apprehension, the roan they didn't do that. and didn't want to be fingerprinted, and because
9:29 am
they're in drugs, fentanyl, or terrorists. and they're coming from countries many of them sponsors of terrorism. 86,000 people entered the country and got away. why? and i don't know how many terrorists crossed the border we don't think that a single one came from a country sponsoring terror? this is the biggest security disaster since 9/11. griff: and how important to this midterm election, tom, is the border issue, is what you're talking about with the national security risk? >> i'm hoping people are looking beyond. again, regardless what their opinion is on illegal immigration, they need to look beyond. this crisis is so big, up to 80% of border patrol officers have been called off to process. and that's the fennel nil and the mi13 and the criminal
9:30 am
issue. since joe biden has taken office, more than one million get-aways, one million people didn't want to turn themselves in. and last month 86,000, spread that out over 12 months, that's one million got-aways. it's a huge national security concern and i hope the voters remember that. >> if it's a big enough issue, places like arizona, for example, in tucson pima votes heavily democrat, but enough crossover put someone this, like blake masters and kari lake and republicans in hoves, what do you hope they do. >> take it back to the house and senate, and president biden has the power of the executive pen, but now we have the power of the purse. a couple of things, we can stop the ridiculous legislation and still going to do executive action, but we can hold this
9:31 am
administration accountable, look, if you don't do something, take steps to secure this border and secretary's got to stop lying about security border. 86,000 escapees is not, and then shut it down. 100,000 americans dead. 86,000 people crossing the border last month that weren't arrested at what point is enough enough? we've got over 1400 migrants-- >> if the republicans take the house, looks like at least and/or the senate and try to draw up impeachment papers on secretary mayorkas? >> absolutely, on day one, that man has violated the oath of office he took, lied to the american people. perjury in front of congress when he said the border is secure, and the country is less safe. taye one he needs to be impeached. >> former ice director, tom homan.

>> as we enter the final days before a midterm election day. candidates are battling it out in many tight races across the country and we have fox team coverage from the campaign trail in ohio, in nevada. mark meredith in columbus. alexandria hoff in las vegas. let's kick it off with you. >> good to be with you. both candidates have been a statistical tie in this race and there was a time when nevada was a republican strong hold, but in recent years it's become blue at every level and adam laxalt is trying to change this at the get out the vote rally today. he will be joined by senator tom cotton. >> this is giving us a huge contrast in the race. the democrats have been able to try to blame other people for
9:37 am
their policy failures over the last two years. guess what? there's no one else to blame. >> so yesterday, laxalt made a stop and strategy to boost numbers in rural and red areas to offset in urban areas. and he's focusing on the gas prices and crime numbers are high. and democratic senator cortez masto is trying to break out. she brought in hollywood star power, singer camila cabello and kerry washington to help participation. >> it's not just protecting a woman's right to choose, it's making sure that everybody has a right to vote. it's making sure that nobody is left behind in this state. that's what's going on. >> you know, early voting
9:38 am
proved very popular there, and that wrapped up. and nevada is among the states that allow for same day registration and it's time for candidates to persuade voters who perhaps have not cast a ballot in recent years to come out and vote on election day. >> all about that turnout. alexandria hoff for us in las vegas. >> high profile politicians are joining candidates on the campaign trail. mark meredith with that. what luminaries do we have dropping in today? >> anita, right now, a gospel group that's performing beautiful music, certainly you can hear it. they're pretty good. as this event that's getting underway here in just about 30 minutes and hear from ohio democratic congressman tim ryan trying to get out black voters ahead of election day and it may be pivotal as he goes up against jd vance. all along we've seen
9:39 am
congressman ryan appeal to more moderate voters in the state and union vote and trying to get union turnout and he has been getting some support from the democratic party, but not the sweeping support that others have gotten in some of the battle ground states, but we're hearing from ryan who says he believes it's going to be the small donors and everyday folks that get him over the finish line. >> we're raising a ton of money every day from these low dollar donors who are like, we know that the national democratic party has always gotten this wrong and we're investing in the tim ryan because they need to follow the rank and file numbers of the democratic party not the people stuck in the d.c. or new york echo chamber. >> but ryan's opponent republican jd vance is spending time, money and energy trying to paint ryan as a rubber stamp for president biden's.
9:40 am
and some are fed up out of washington. >> the message is clear we need to take the country in another direction and not going to do that unless we get out and vote and throw out the current relationship of washington d.c. >> on monday, the event of the election, former president trump is going to be in ohio, not here, but helping vance get over the line with the republican voters and congressman tim ryan holding events and he's got the chair of the congressional black caucus with us, trying to get the turnout in the final stretch of the race and maybe a hope and a prayer at this point. anita: that's why they've got the gospel group there, right, mark? thank you, mark. griff: anita now let's turn to the key issues concerning voters in the conservative race that could shift control of the house and the senate to the g.o.p. now the house under fox's latest power rankings likely to go to be in republicans hands, by how much, we don't know.
9:41 am
the senate, both parties see a pathway and in the final rankings, four tossup states, they are pennsylvania, georgia, arizona, and nevada. so, let's go, anita, to the map and look closer at those. let's start in pennsylvania where, as you see, fetterman and oz perhaps the most talked about race, they are neck and neck. but to get to some sense of how the battle goes. the top issue in this state is inflation. overwhelmingly. the second one would be abortion. now, if you look at the last presidential election, you can see a close, less than 3% there. but it is the suburbs, look at this, here in philadelphia, and places like buck county, that matters because we're learning that white suburb women may be a huge key for the first time in a long time soccer moms now 15% favoring the g.o.p. that may be a big part of the race there now.
9:42 am
if we go back to our map and just look down in georgia, where we've heard so much about warnock and walker, you also can look back at the presidential election and it will be the suburbs and perhaps white women in the atlanta area, that may make a little bit of a difference. only time will tell. one thing is for sure, it's going to be a suburb type conversation all night long on tuesday night, anita. anita: no kidding, that was the story coming out the other day, white suburban women looking to vote for the g.o.p. candidates. let me ask you about the other two key states that you mentioned quickly. arizona and nevada, you said in pennsylvania, the top issues were inflation and abortion. what's going on with issues in arizona and nevada. >> let's go to arizona, that one is really important. blake masters trailing mark kelly by two points. inflation is top, but the second one is the border issue. that matters because when you go in to the breakdown, you can
9:43 am
see here, this is your border right down there. but of course, that .3% close in the presidential, if you go in to cochise county, it really is overwhelming, you can look here and see the-- excuse me, the turnout there in cochise county was overwhelming for trump, but go over to pima, it flipped. so, this is going to be a big issue right here along the pima and tucson area to see if enough voters cross over to vote republican. that is going to be a big question come tuesday night. anita. anita: yeah, we heard in kelly o'grady's report that the border is a big issue in arizona. could be interesting. griff, great job on the touch screen. moving out now, russia has relentless shelling of ukraine's power grid leading to regularly scheduled blackouts across the country. we are live in kyiv coming up next. n's disease or ulcerative colitis symptoms are stopping you in your tracks...
