>> fentanyl. >> border security. >> small businesses. >> inflation. >> inflation. will: good morning and welcome to "fox & friends" where we spent the week and the coming days talking to the voters. we're just two days out from the midterm elections. many just a few days, we'll be headed to pennsylvania, wisconsin and florida to continue hearing from you and what's important to you as you cast your ballot in the midterm elections. good morning to you. pete: good morning. one of the best parts of the job, getting paid to go out and meet people as we are on the press precipice of an historical election. between the conversations we've been having in the break and between the caffeinated water that will cain is consuming this morning, he said i'm about to go rogue. will: yeah. pete: so the floor is yours. will: one of the good things about doing diners is we get to eat while we're doing

television. we made breakfast nachos here on "fox & friends". pete and i then went off the wall. i literally ran in for three seconds because i was eating breakfast nachos in the green room. and everybody was yelling in my ear, will, you have to go get on tv, right? guess what happened while we were on tv? our producers in the control room while rushing me out to perform television took our breakfast nachos. they're now in the control room -- [laughter] and so the producers won't be talking to us because they're shoving breakfast nachos into their mouth, and guess what? we don't have breakfast. pete: and that's why they rushed you into off the wall. i could have carried it for 45 seconds -- will: well, i certainly expected them to be there. rachel: why don't you order us nachosesome. will: is it my day? rachel: by the way, i want to have something he's happening. could somebody bring me a

hoodie? is it a man of the people? rachel: yeah. will: can you imagine for school, is he going to wear the hoodie into the senate if he's elected? pete: here's the thing, in his debates and a couple moments he's put the suit and tie on. so this is a shtick, and he'll go and try to play mr. senator. thankfully, i don't think he's going to win. pennsylvania voters have to see through this charade of gaslighting that are democrats right now in a desperate, last ditch effort to tell us democracy on the ballot. no, actually, the ballot is democracy, and they just don't like what the outcome could be. rachel: imagine being barack obama, and by the way, he deserves every moment of what i think must be torturous. fetterman hardly spoke, he's got this blank face, and then you've got joe biden who could at any moment wander off the stage or say something embarrassing. but really what you're look at right there with barack obama and joe biden, barack obama

orchestrated the biden campaign and essentially is responsible for all of the policies that we are experiencing now, the misery that's being inflicted on the american people. i think most people when we go to the diners tell us they can't believe not just how bad thingsing have gotten, but how quickly -- pete: how fast. rachel: -- how quickly things have gotten bad. and the only hope, i think, is in this midterm there will be a red wave that can reverse them. and that is what donald trump, who turned around the obama economy very quickly into his presidency and gave us -- pete: found the magic wand. rachel: yeah, he found the magic wand that obama said didn't exist, turn around our economy, made us energy independent and brought back american manufacturing, raised the wages of minorities and the poor and the working class faster than any other demographic. he was on the stump saying give dr. oz a chance. watch. >> is there anything better than going to a trump rally on a

saturday night in pennsylvania? [cheers and applause] unfortunately, we have so many bad things happening to our country, we can't celebrate until we start winning. we have to win, and we're going to win a lot. dr. mehmet oz was a great, great doctor, and he'll be an incredible senator. he'll be focusing on all of the things we're talking about with the crime and the inflation, but he'll also be focused on your health care, because your health care could be much better. there's nobody that knows more about that subject in the senate than dr. oz. he'll vote to end joe biden's socialist spending spree, and he'll fight runaway inflation, and he's a strong man. rachel: dr. oz. by the way, dr. oz does -- he mentioned he's a doctor, he knows about health care, but also dr. as was one of the early skeptics of the covid rules and mandates and prescriptions for how to deal with it. so i think he deserves credit on

that, because he was a very independent thinker very early on when he was getting slammed very hard because, remember, he kind of came out of that hollywood world that had one mindset about it. he deserves a little credit on that. pete: it's a tiny tangent, but you forget about the fact that isis was still on the march when trump took over, and trump said we're going to crush them, and he unleashed the military, and we did in a matter of months. with the right policy and the right leadership, things can change very, very quickly. people experienced that with donald trump and then the flipside of it with joe biden which is exactly why they're pointing the finger in the chest of democrats. will: we've talked about how unpopular many of the actual ideas of democrats, gender issues, shutting down coal plants, open borders, like, put on a blank ballot for most of the american people to say how do you feel about these policies, held garner minimal support. so in alternative what democrats

have focused on is democracy, one of those is voter suppression. that's been forwarded by stacey abrams, for example, in georgia for quite some time. by the way, here's early voting turn theout in georgia, 2.2 million, which i believe is a record. pete: 2.2 million suppressed voters. rachel: yeah. by the way, i hate early voting. i really wish we had a holiday for that. i get your point now. will: it's in the face of supposed threat to democracy, voter suppression. rachel: right. will: and then, of course, one would say how does saves city abrams respond to that? >> let's be clear, the false narrative that voter turnout dispels the idea of societier suppression misunderstands the effectiveness of suppression. it's about clocking the rafterye arteries of the process and stopping certain voters.

while the polls are always going to tell the story you want to see, what we know is the untold story is that this is a tight race, neck and neck, and we believe we are on a path to victory if we can get all of our voters turned out and if they can navigate the difficulties put in place. pete: here to help us translate is fox news anchor and our friend, shannon bream. welcome. >> good to see you guys. pete: i know you've got a lot of big stuff coming up, your going to be a busy woman. >> we do. pete: we'll be watching. what do you make of -- >> well, okay, because i knew we were going to discuss this. we had her on "fox news sunday" a few weeks ago, and in this had just happened, all of our four-year legal battle about these claims of what's going on in georgia, the judge said fair fight action did not provide direct evidence of a voter who was unable to vote, experienced longer wait times or was confused about voter registration status.

that's what the judge said -- pete: fair fight action is -- >> that's her group. she wants to take it up with that judge, he said there was nothing that he found, that nobody could actually say i tried to go vote, i tried to register, and i couldn't make it happen because of georgia's law. will: and increased early voting turnout -- >> it's astronomical. will: it seems almost conspiratorial. >> i don't know about that -- [laughter] but i do know a friend of mine, she wore orange in this video on the today that the dogs were playing tennessee, is so my friend's biggest upset was the choice of outfit to make these comments on game day. rachel: is there any backlash for her saying these things? i mean, they're just so demonstrably false. will: it'll be flagged as misinformation, i'm sure. rachel: right. >> well, again, she can go against this judge who is clearly not a trump appointee, somebody who looked at this for four years, so it's the public

that's going to make the decision. and i think many of them have looked at this and said she's going to lose by a wider margin this time around than last time around with governor kemp -- rachel: and there were some prominent democrats in georgia who are now saying we're going to vote for kemp. pete: so you're saying stacey abrams wore orange in an ad -- >> in an interview, right. my college football fan friends were more upset about that -- pete: it's a big deal. [laughter] so maybe she is just a bad candidate, and the voters concern. >> well, there are some people who think her campaign itself has not been stellar, and she has some problems like all candidates do, but she's clearly not connecting there in georgia. pete: herschel walker is featured in the pregame videos -- will: star for the georgia bulldogs. pete: because, of course, you can't think georgia football without herschel walker, and she's wearing orange. will: so, shannon, let's stay on gubernatorial races and looking forward to what may happen on

tuesday. you look at stacey abrams, and she could lose yet again. you look at beto the beto to to roarke in texas, and it looks like he'll continue to lose again, can continuous losers continue to be the stars of the democratic party? >> i don't know if you read the piece in the atlantic that talk talked about this, but they're calling them superstar losers. [laughter] they get people out and they get a lot of star the power and that kind of thing, but when it comes to closing the deal with voters at the ballot box, that's not their strength. they continue to be stars. you can go back and and tick through all of the campaigns that beto's had, he's lost just about everything that he's run for. rachel: he seems to be really popular with the elite donor base, and when it gets to the ballot box, they don't make it. i can never forget the picture of stacey abrams sitting, you know, crisscross on the floor of a classroom unmasked with all these beautiful children with

their smiles all a masked and, again, pointing to what a bad political candidate she is, just not really -- and this was at a point where parents were already saying enough with the masks. it's just out of touch. >> she definitely drives a certain part of her party, but can you reach beyond that to the independent and swing voters. rachel: that's right. >> that's where it's more difficult because she's so progressive. pete: any predictions on election night? >> my stomach hurts thinking about this. but you guys love it, right? we know we're going to have to wait on pennsylvania. the secretary of state has been warning us it's going to take days, and i think if we knew that night there was a blowout, i think it would give us a picture about the rest of the country. but new hampshire's going to be early too, and if by any stretch the republicans pull that off, i think that would signal good news -- will: do you think georgia will be the only one we have to wait on? >> well, georgia has a runoff, then that takes us to december 6th. so we could wait weeks --

custody after police say she stabbed a man in the back at a new york steakhouse. the altercation starting when a group began complaining about their bill. this prompted one man to start throwing punches at staff members before another woman stabbed him in the back with a steak knife. the man is expected to survive. to the southern border where officials seized $8.6 million worth of meth inside a tractor-trailer. a drug-sniffing k-99 locating 2,000 pounds of meth during inspection at the laredo port of entry in texas. the bust comes as border officials ramp up security as deadly drugs like meth and fentanyl pour into our country. overnight the powerball jackpot soaring to more than $1.9 billion after nobody won last night's drawing. the winning numbers were 28, 45, 53, 56, 69, and the red powerball, the number 20. the next i drawing will take place tomorrow night.

[cheers and applause] pete: will: big names from the left and the right on the campaign trail in battleground pennsylvania to try and sway voters. the gubernatorial race between democrat josh shapiro and republican doug mastriano gives shapiro a 16-point lead as we head into the midterms. meanwhile, in the senate race john fetterman and dr. mehmet oz remain incredibly tight. this poll shows a margin within the margin with of error, a 3-point difference. joining us now though are two pennsylvania voters, mark goldberg and noreen johnson. great to have you both on the show this morning. >> good morning.

will: good morning to you. i would love to sort of set the stage with you both just really quickly. in the past, noreen, how would you have described yourself as a voter, republican, democrat, independent? >> oh, 100% republican. i would never have a doubt about that. will: and, mark? how would you have described yourself in the past this. >> i'm a registered independent. will okay. that sets the stage. you're in a swing state, as we mentioned, right now. two big races. the senate race, the more tightly-contested race. as you look at that race, we'll start with you, mark, as an independent, who has made an argument for you to swing you one way or another, john fetterman or his surrogates, joe biden and barack obama, or mehmet oz and husband surrogate, donald trump? >> well, it's certainly mehmet oz has stated the case very well. i still don't really understand how anyone in good conscience can vote for fetterman given how compromised he is. and then if you just look at how

the biden administration and the democrats having been in power, how much they're failing in every meaningful metric, it's very hard for me to vote for a losing administration. finish and that's what they're basically saying. they're saying, well, vote for john fetterman because he stands with us. and, you know, my life is not better off than it was before they took office. will: so, noreen, you heard what influenced mark there. i'm going to take it as a matter for granted, although please correct me if i'm wrong, that you would be leaning towards mehmet oz, a lifelong republican. but you heard mark bring up competency when it comes to john fetterman and also owning the policies of joe biden and the left and saying how those policies impact my life. am i right in assuming you're leaning toward oz, and disease if so, as we look at the screen, which ones meant the most to you, mayor lean? >> well, so, first of all, absolutely leaning toward oz.

and this is not a compassion issue when it comes to fetterman's health. everyone feels terrible for what happened to him. i have a lot of people in my life that have had strokes. however, this is him being able to go into the senate, be able to hold a conversation, said good morning instead of good night when it's morning and also just in general be able to debate the issues like crime, inflation, energy. pennsylvania is a huge energy state, and we are doing nothing with it except draining our emergency reserves elsewhere when we could be tapping into pennsylvania's resources, and i just think that between the inflation going on and crime in our state we have to focus on these issues when it comes to who we're voting for. of i'm very happy to hear that independents are, i think, i really do believe are leaning haver -- very, very much toward oz. will: what you just gave us is reflected in the polling towards crime. you mentioned inflation as well, and 33% of pennsylvania's registered voters say that's their number one issue.

rachel: welcome back to to "fox & friends." the big one is coming. that's a warning from a u.s. military nuclear commander who says, quote, it isn't going to be the very long before our country gets tested in ways that we haven't been tested in a long time. as u.s. military deterrence falls behind china. here to assess the real threat, fellow and director for chinese

strategy at the hudson institute the, michael pillsbury. michael, so great to have you on, as always. we had gordon chang, another chinese expert on, a few weeks ago, and he thought that military conflict with china was a real possibility even within the next year, and so now we have this admirable -- admiral giving us a warning and also saying we're not prepared militarily for this kind of a conflict. so, first of all, how unusual is it that we're getting this kind of warning from a u.s. navy admiral? >> it's very unusual because he's not just a navied a miller, he's the head of our strategic forests. he's responsible -- forces. he's responsible for maintaining the nuclear balance of power between ourselves, russia and china. so this kind of warning is very serious. it's not a warning of immediate conflict or war that we should all just jump in our shelters now, it's a warning that the long-term trend, especially since this past year, is in favor of china becoming the

dominant military power in the world. now, that's in peacetime as well as in a possible war. and the key issue here is the strange silos that china taliban to dig out in far western concern began to dig out in far western china a world or two ago. they told the world this is for wind turbine power, we're going to put these big wind turbines in here, then they began to test icbms with a lot of warheads on. so the admiral is making the calculation, which is probably correct, 360 silos, 10 war highways per missile -- warheads per per per missile, that puts china ahead of both russia and america in the balance of power. not that there'd be a war, but you could coerce people, you could try to dominate them, force them to do things because you were superior. you were, like, the number one bully in the world. and we tried to keep it equal between ourselves and the russians and also have stability

talks, confidence-building measures, meetings all the time. we having none of that with china. rachel: yeah. we've been doing report after report on this show about our military not being prepared. so here we have this situation that is very alarming and, by the way, it sounds line our leaders were caught flat footed in terms of this expansion by the chinese. why don't you address that. how did our leaders get lulled into not seeing? if is that elite capture by the chinese government? what's happening? [laughter] >> it's a kind of elite capture, yes. what you basically have is a group of progressives who think that climate change is the most important thing. rachel: that's right. >> and since china's the world's biggest polluter, they want to get along with china. they're really hurt by the chinese calling off the climate change talks as a protest over nancy pelosi's visit. so this group of progressives combined with american wishful thinking has led to the idea that we don't have to pay

attention to a chinese military threat. i think it's a partisan issue. kevin mccarthy wants to do a rot about this if we get the red wave. rachel: they're saying the biggest threat is climate, and clearly the biggest threat is china. i have to ask you one last question. is joe biden compromised by chinese intelligence because of his family's business corruption, and how much will that influence our ability to respond to this in the next, at least in the next two years while he's president that we know of? >> i think it's an election issue. you find an awful lot of people concerned about biden talking about competition with china as though it's burger king against mcdonald's -- rachel: right. >> -- not seeing the chinese as a major military threat. i think there is a big difference between republicans and democrats on the china threat and a lot of suspicion about the biden family, i must say. rachel: yeah. no question about it, we need those questions answered in order for our country to be safe and to know that our leader truly has our best interests in

they're at. have you ever seen a party grasping at issues towards the end? >> desperate, i think, is the right word. maybe they're going to pull a rabbit out of a hat, but all the indications seem to be headed in a certain direction. and when you look at the closing arguments from these two parties, the democrats are saying democracy's on the ballot, occasionally mentioning abortion, they're insulting the intelligence of voters. republicans are talking about inflation, the economy, crime. and those are, if you look at the polling, the top issues for most voters as opposed to what the democrats are talking about. is so i think we're already seeing some what i call precriminations, finger pointing in advance of expected losses, and that's usually not a great sign for the party engaged in them. pete: for sure. you're both going to be watching this closely, as we all are. sean, give us a bit of a preview. what will be the story on wednesday morning when you look at the lay of the land two days out? what are the storylines you're looking for? >> so the republican candidates

are going to win races that the poll pollsters didn't think they were going to win, number one. and number two, democrats are going to sit back and say, we made a mistake. we were talking about abortion, we were talking about radical reflynns -- republicans, extremists, we weren't talking about the issues that matter to americans. and to this point, you're going to see them internally fight and throe -- throw stones because their loss is going to be so huge. pete: same question to you, guy. >> well, i think you're going to see a lot of people on the left talking about how democracy is now almost dead -- [laugher] because elections have been won by -- pete: because democracy happened overnight, yes. >> i think we'll be talking about a speaker-elect or a speaker-in-waiting, kevin mccalifornia think. pete: which will follow with a fight over who the majority leader will be in the senate. >> i think it will be cocaine mitch mcconnell, to borrow a name he's had in the past.

they get to 51, which i think is entirely plausible. but if you start talking about the wave sean is anticipating, we could be talking about 52, 53, way out there, 54. if things break, right, those late breakers all go in one direction -- sean: who's going to lead the democrat party? there's going to be a huge food fight as to who's going to win the -- run the democrat party. candidates can feel what's happening on the ground. they know the wind's to their back or in their face. they can tell how things are going. you talk to candidates, and they're, like, i've never experienced a cycle like this. this is really, really good, and i think they're the best indicators because they're touching so many voters. pete: the other thing that will happen on wednesday morning, the race for 2024 finish. >> begins. >> stop it. >> can we sleep for, like, a day? pete: not at all. speaking of no sleep for guy benson, you're cohosting a special edition of outnumbered

under german flags. all right, we have some college football action starting with my victorious texas longhorns, they upstate kansas state. not that inspiring. elsewhere, the georgia bulldogs dominating the number one team in the country during its 27-13 win over tennessee. that, now, was convincing. notre dame, by the way, pulled off a major upset over number 4 clemson, 35-14. it's the fighting irish's second consecutive win over a ranked opponent. and michigan state picking up a 23-15 win over number 16, illinois, on the road. and finally, lsu stunning the mighty alabama crimson tide in a wild 32-31 overtime victory. look at this, this gutsy 2-point conversion made the difference for lsu.
