that in now pretty somewhat of an icon. i think he is the most of political figure in the democratic ranks for the point the whole conversation is about turnout. i think we have already set a record for turnout in these midterm elections. now, the number she put up on the board indicated a very high level of enthusiasm, shannon. it is high think among democrats for you look down and say same as before. democrats are really enthusiastic in 2020 what they saw as extremism. i think republicans have now come back. they decide to come home for they come home to candidates with of questionable quality we think a lot of republicans vote republican. i don't like democrats in voting republican. i think that is what we've seen this last phase of this campaign. think it is why it is so, so close. >> were things that happened during these primary contests was that democrats spent a lot
11:10 pm
of money to get more extreme, more maga they would stay out of the republican primaries thinking they be easier targets in the general election. walter journal peña reporting on this on the new hampshire races got surprising types. they said the campaign and the national democratic party were so sure they wanted to face her republican opponent that the democrats spent more than three-point to million dollars in the primary public and primary to attack his leading opponent too. some of this come back to bite them? >> it could shannon do some of these candidates they so enthusiastically promoted end up winning. what you don't know is how well this candidate would have done. i've offered had won the primaries, they might be doing even better. so you do not know that. i think basically the idea of trying to promote candidates you want to run against in the other party is cynical and it is not

good for our democracy. [laughter] quick speaking of that one, there is one report out of thinkers and newsweek said more than $48 million democrats have spent on people they now call election deniers. so if they are the ones out there backing these folks are they not responsible in part for that? >> no. look if you can do a fight shannon you want to go up against the weakest opponent so you can win. and for democrats the idea and i think you'll hear this later when you interview congressman clyburn, democrats view a lot of the republicans tromped back to republicans as extremist as a threat to democracy. to get 70% of americans of both parties have a threat for different reasons to democracy. that argument is been part of the closing message coming from democrats. and in terms of the strategy, they want those candidates that think it makes it harder for suburbanites, for moderates, for independence to say oh yes i will vote for that so-called extremists. >> okay let's talk about this. also as we mentioned the former

presidents out on the campaign trail, president trump in florida you know he likes nicknames he has a new nickname for the governor there calling him rhonda sanctimonious. there's a lot of speculation with those two and 2024. mike pompeo former secretary of state under president trump says this in a tweet not tired of winning, governor desantis you have proven conservative policies work florida is better for it, but for governor desantis. shades of 2024 and taking sides there. >> i think all this midterm you have had some people thinking well if this and 22 than what in 2024? the presidential election will get underway right after this midterm. president trump might not want to wait and who knows, i do not know if ron desantis is going to throw his hat in the ring. we have not heard from him yet. a lot of republicans fed to figure out a way to get back to unity after really tough primaries for that so the case in pennsylvania were oz and dave mccormick battled it out in that primary. i was not really beaten up. he had to crawl his way back and he has done that is basically
11:13 pm
tight if not one point ahead of fetterman. in florida courts ron desantis likely to win that gubernatorial seat next tuesday. that election is not been held yet. everyone gets a choice for what they want to say. republican unity is what a lot of these republican voters want right now because they would really like to push back and get what they see is the biden administration is a bad thing for their livelihoods, their safety, the worries about the border. all of those things fall into a desire to see some republican unity going forward. shannon: right thank you very much for a stay with us quick break right here. cap next president biden delivered a dire warning ahead of the midterms from going to check the third ranking house democrat congressman jim clyburn who is also raising eyebrows with his comment about what happens if republicans win big.

ignatius watching to see which party would control the senate. right now distraught ball. as you'll see is from a fox news power right in the house is looking a bit more certain. write out power rankings are 26 house races as tall subs. either party could win particular cap box projecting best case scenario for democrats this, they could end up winning 212 seats. that is still would give republicans a majority but a slim one this potential best case scenario for republicans they could win two to 49 seats leaving democrats with very little leverage for the second half of president biden's term. my next guest says this could be disastrous for the country.
11:18 pm
joining us alkaline at congressman james clyburn for the third ranking democrat in the house. welcome back to box to send a break. >> thank you very much for having me back. speaks i want to start her the comment made a couple of days ago. this is what happens in a country that follows what happened in germany in the early 30s. this country is on track to repeat what happened in germany. it was the greatest democracy going elected a chancellor within co-opted through the media that's was going on this country. that is what will lead to the destruction of this democracy. shannon: congressman you repeatedly made comments about hitler, nazis in germany in the 1930s in recent years for you got a lot of pushback from that from jewish organizations and others who says it belittles the suffering of the holocaust of the millions who are lost.
11:19 pm
your response? >> i have talked to many jews there many jews in the district. they are supporters of mine. they know this is the stuff material rations and democracy. this is not anything about whether how difficult it was. i talk about slavery and how difficult it was. but to discuss the facts of what is going on here, election deniers setting up procedures white committees and black governors can overturn the results of elections. to call the press will. two co-op evangelicals. and i grew up in the christian faith, born and raised in a parsonage. i know a whole lot about
11:20 pm
religion. and i know there is always an attempt and that is what's going on here. if you want to deny that's fine. the facts are very clear. i studied history all of my life. i taught history and i am telling you what i see here are parallels to what the history was back in the 1930s in germany, and italy. shannon: are voters though out there listening to this message to infer from what you are saying that if they do not vote for democrats in this election they are somehow supporting something akin to the rise of hitler? >> no. they do not vote against election deniers if they don't vote against liars, people who lie know full well they are lying. we all know they are lying. this was the cleanest election in the history of the country donald trump's own appointee said it was the cleanest in the
11:21 pm
history of the country. so if they are lying, they are denying. they're trying to nullify votes, vote against that foolishness. >> okay congressman, to look back on some of those conversations about election deniers we have talked about the show democrats to set more than $40 million making sure some of this people got through gop primaries they could then face off in the election. do some democrats bear responsibility for putting this people now on the ballot? no we did not put them out. shannon: but you spent millions to get them there. >> you spent millions where you got many of them of the general election ballot. >> i have read about that. i believe that you should always try to best position yourself to win in the general election. i am not a proponent of that process. i understand it takes place on
11:22 pm
both sides. but i am just not a proponent of it. but i can understand it. shannon: okay i want to lay a little more language of the last week from democrats about what is at stake in this election. >> and democracy as know it may not survive in arizona, that is not an exaggeration that is a fact. >> but there's something else at stake, democracy itself. >> losing this democracy could very well be the end of the world. shannon: real asking voters to set aside what they feel about the economy? the wall street journal kimberly chris trostle has this piece voters have sought to this apocalyptic many times notes anticlimactic ending further visit searching for spare change to cover the rising grocery bill paid set about the economy worse about crimes of the top of all voter polls about what they are worried about but instead vote for you where the world is ending? nobody said the world has ended. shannon: you did say they are it could end of the world.
11:23 pm
no comment democracy will be ended by the world will continue to exist for the world was here before hitler world with your after hitler presented so we are seeing. the world will not end. the kind of world we have the kind of country we have we have got to decide how we want to exist in this world. and that is what we are talking about. this hyperbole is not part of what we are saying here. we are talking about what kind of country we have been kind of world we have. shannon: congress are going to read your quote is said losing this democracy could very well be the end of the world. that is a direct quote from you. >> end of the world? come on. >> a lot of voters feel that way when you say that they have the same reaction. >> if that's a quote from me i missed bucca. it will not in the world. no.
11:24 pm
that's good news for everybody had into about boxes on tuesday. >> we live in a world that we do not like. my forbearers lived through slavery. they did not like that existence for 250 years but it was not the end of the world. it may be the end of the world as they would have it. but it will not end the world. six we are reassured to hear her say that sir we thank you for making time for us congressman clyburn always good to talk with you bring. >> thank you very much back now at their sunday group, alright britt reaction to mr. clyburn's remarks there? i've always like he's a very nice man pretty came through his saying goodbye to you today. what he is saying is utter nonsense. shannon: even now he says it's nonsense for a quick look set aside the silly remark about the end of the wear but thing about the end of democracy and this
11:25 pm
continual refrain we hear that says democracy is on the ballot. no, democracy is the ballot. we are basically arguing is an exercise in democracy people while vote for candidates is the end of democracy? insider nonsense. shannon: wong? you heard from multiple democrats on the day include the present to get the last final speech part of his closing remarks for that is what he's been the time focusing on. >> again, i think or talk about turnout for retirement energizing people. i may be shifting some persuadable, she had entered the aftermath of something like the attack on paul pelosi i think i've seen numbers and polls indicate close to half of americans into the probability of real violence postelection. if people say i don't like the outcome i think the outcome was a result of fraudulent voting. new understanding tensions are that high the people both parties to there's a potential for violence for there is a real
11:26 pm
attack on politicians we know about the increase in the number of threats to politicians in the country, i think that is why your hearing that message loud and clear from democrats as they try to persuade people to say hey, there is something going on here. this is not your ordinary election. with the correction from congressman clyburn this is not the end of the world. but people think something different is in the water, yes. >> listen we got them to agree right dana. >> we've been friends forever. >> you guys have you both great guys. they now want to ask about this republicans could be the dog that catches the carpet especially over the house side. they're going to have to govern based on what kind of margin they end up with in all tha candidates are poised to rule the house gop hardliner publican gains in congress could elevate demands for impeachment, investigations and the debt ceiling showdown.
11:27 pm
how does potential speaker mccarthy handle this? >> in the "washington post" missed an opportunity to also talk about how mccarthy has recruited the most diverse class of candidates that the republican party has ever seen. women, african-americans, indian-american jeff hispanic, latino, all of the different faces and voices and experiences that are about to win. let's just see what the margin is before start thinking there are three people are going to ruin democracy. the other thing is, the democrats knew when generate 21st, 2021 they were going to likely to lose the house and maybe the senate and the midterm. that is how democracy works. i think the hyperbole obviously has to be taken back sometimes you say things in a campaign would not necessarily want to say by the voters are going to get to finally have their chance of the voices heard. my lapse point is this the effectiveness of the democracy, the end of democracy has been been so weak for the most effective messaging has been for
11:28 pm
example the senator of new hampshire voted with joe biden, 96.4% of the time. that message is stuck with the voters of the battle of the democrats are no whining they might end up with an election denier in the united states senate that they helped elect it. shannon: wiki millions poured into the race thereby democrats trying to get to the primary for which they successfully did but we'll see if it turns out. right thank you very much for to see you next week for cap next arizona's emerging as one of tuesday's biggest battlegrounds with toss ups the races for senate and governor. we've got a live report from there. plus my one on one with governor's state of oklahoma party finds itself in very tight race thereby to bring posters what to make of the data but he is

basics of much of the national focus of the fight for the balance of power in that senate and the house. voters in 36 states will also pick their governors on tuesday. we are seeing some surprises in these races including in oklahoma will republicans switch parties to running and seceding republican governor. in a minute were going to stick with that governor, republican kevin stitt oklahoma on his fight to stay in office.
11:32 pm
the first for the fight for the open governor seat is plenty of headlines they are. >> absolutely. good morning bring the two candidates for governor here could not be more different. democrat katy and secretary of state certified president biden's arizona win in 2020. a victory republican and former local news anchor kerri at lake did not even happen per democrats have bought in big names like former president obama to help out. not only hobs but incumbent senator mark kelly who watched a comfortable lead over republican blake masters disappear in the final weeks. an argument could be made a master storage could be made for more appearances with lake. former president that if lake has proven to be a headlining drawer in her own right now shannon, all this is happening as incumbent agenda come there's nationwide are finding themselves in tighter races than expected. inflation and frustration that

voters have over it has reached a fevered pitch making the argument for another go at the job is proving to be quite difficult. >> in arizona, thank you so much. joining is now oakland governor kevin stitt. welcome to fox news said event to warn our viewers is a little bit of a delay between the two of us for good have you back. hey, great to back the guys. shannon: okay governor first i want to ask how folks are turned down in southeast oklahoma. i know we had horrible storms and massive commute roll through there. xes, i was actually down in southeast oklahoma yesterday visiting the folks on the ground, getting all of our generators can overstate resources, i had a call with the fema director yesterday and homeland security. we are doing everything we can to make sure our locals have all the support they need. just on the ground it's oklahoma standard i saw firsthand for

11:35 pm
that equivalent for the nation that would be like 600 million being spent in the state of virginia. i will tell you this the disinformation is unbelievable. they're literally sending out flyers to people in rural parts of the state exam going to close rural schools. nothing could be further from the truth. i put more money in education than any other governor before me. for proud of our record have the largest savings account in state history. we cut taxes for every single oklahoman. we have been de- regulating and were number 11 in the country and people moving to the great state of oklahoma. so the economy is going well here. they have conflated the issue and some of those lies in that chaos is being spread is making it tighter than it should be. >> let's talk about your opponent which the democratic party and here's her explanation for that.
11:36 pm
our sour governor hijacked the republican party. he is driving our state into the ground. i'm aggressively immoderate, how always have been. clark she said you pulled the party too far to the right. others have made republican party a place she cannot stay anymore, your response? x well, if believing in traditional family values and not having men compete in girls sports is pulling too far to the right, i do not see. oklahomans agree with us on traditional family values. if believing in smaller government, lower taxes and d regulation is us to the right, i will gladly stand for that. but those parties that attack our jobs in oklahoma and not having an honest conversation about what the american people need to be energy independent,
11:37 pm
that is the real extreme party. they're causing 40 or high inflation at the gas pump. but at the grocery store. when she couldn't see path forward for herself end up flipping parties appear to think oklahomans can see right through that. shannon: . but one of the most well loved, well known oklahomans out there but former republican congressman, a football star jc watts pretty made an ad endorsing purities your democratic opponent has a bit of that ad. "i was a republican then and i'm a republican now. and friends i am voting or dust makes all of the scandal and corruption is just too much. shannon: governor want to give you a chance to respond to corruption scandal federal audit on the state had mishandled $31 million in covid money. a criminal investigation millions of state contract to the barbecue restaurants and on our website your opponent

accused via a filing taxpayer benefits to your own businesses. i want to go to respond to those accusations. x well, again oklahomans are too smart. this is an election season with $50 million in special interest trying to buy this election for my opponent. of course are going to be coming out with that stuff up. jc watts, it's disappointing he's actually on the board of pay calm. those are part of the folks that are trying to buy the selection. is on the board, makes millions of dollars is contracting for the other operatives. comments can see through that alliance and the chaos and distrust of something polls that went on.
11:39 pm
shannon: governor it will take a second i need to interrupt you here because i want to make sure you answer those for thousand federal audit. there's a state investigation. in the accusations about your business for if you could quickly give us in specific responses to those accusations. >> yes, here is the deal. i started the company with $1000 and a computer shortly after college we have grown that we'll have over 1000 employees today. so long before he became governor we have some quality jobs programs with the 600, 700 other companies listing the truth with something our company and the private sector got in place long before i was governor along with every other company that qualifies in the state of oklahoma is just nonsense and oklahomans can see right throu

estate losing over tens of thousands of businesses that are never coming back after the code lockdowns brady got a deeper economic development after those lockdowns and people are very concerned about the education system they are. guy named jolynn barta is a veteran he's a sheriff of clark county since 2014. at the law enforcement and military background. doing a really good job holding us to select responsible for many of the failings in vegas. our latest poll but he's gaining that's when i'm watching. parks what about you mark? >> a half a dozen fastening governors races. zeroed in really on new york. because your job item one by 23 points, hopeful was substantially well ahead. in selden's focus on the single issue, crime rates a good of ken this issue of crime really changed politics as we know it? particularly in new york. look, even if he comes within single digits it will send a message to democrats, you cannot
11:42 pm
ignore crime, immigration and inflation the core issues that people see their daily lives. shannon: we talked a polls have shown really significant swings with the methodology of a spot on i do not know pointless but one that showed up in the wall sojourn this week. it finds that white women living in suburban areas who make up 20% of the electorate now favor republicans for congress by 15 percentage points. living 27 percentage points away from democrats in the journal's august bowl. is it an outlier? is it accurate? whether you want to believe it or not. >> no actually most people do not realize those voters saying the wrong the election of most presidential elections voted solidly republican. the impression was they didn't. the democrats made headway on them in the last bid terms, that actually was the story. the fact that they bounced back and are typically more interested in how my going to
11:43 pm
put food on the table question at the fact they bounced back at the very, very significant finding. i believe it is probably true and it probably will make the biggest difference in this upcoming election for. >> they also said that's one of the most to get out and vote. one that makes your life in tough but do not pick up the calls in the given item about you guys if i don't recognize the number i don't pick up these calls either. headpiece this week that said this idea of nonresponsive bias. they said in 2020 white registered democrats are more than 20% likely to respond to service and white registered republicans. the hallmark of nonresponse bias looks as if it is a back over a white registered democrats were 28% likely to respond to arsenic polls and republicans. how tough kellyanne does that make because of your jobs? >> it's tough and that's overstated. respect i think that your times of trying to do a little cya they said donald trump at 8% chance of winning michigan by 15% of being a president overall. he won michigan, became the

president. they're doing it in a way that cannot be wrong. there's a way to make the both feel comfortable to speak to many americans do want to express themselves and feel that they are participating in the voice matters way head of the election. find it to be very dangerous and disappointing to hear a current. the democrats out there basically scaring people away from voting. they're all out there saying elections in ours are looking them saying you are inflation desires your rising crime deniers your education lost learning and reduced test score deniers. that's why a lot of those women that you talked about are willing to talk to pollsters but are willing to come to the polls and say look i'm swinging over the issue is uncomplicated and straightforward for its inflation in the economy. it's immigration but it is also education parents a year after going won that race came close to new jersey. parents are still parents for they are still upset about what they see as a hangover from all the lost learning and test
11:45 pm
