80% of the economy is the top issue. and republicans over democrats to handle it by 14 points. instead of hitting up battleground states to take, the president will be in maryland to try to hold the focus on abortion. for democrats which has been their big push leading into the midterms, listen. >> or president joe biden will not let the filibuster get in the way of passing the women's health protection act, but we just need two more senators. literally, if we pick up two more senators. the president can sign it into law. so elections matter. >> don is the most extreme nominee for the u.s. senate that you'd new hampshire seen in modern history, and his record makes it clear he would be a "yes" vote for nationwide abortion ban. >> if we don't want a ban on abortion and for doctors and health care providers to be sent to prison for offering an

>> do you think police receive enough support in the city? >> absolutely not. who would want that job to begin with? >> i don't walk as often as i'd would eat at night and it doesn't matter if it's late at night or early in the morning. the police need to have our reese port don't support because they are part of the solution not the problem. >> what is the issue that matters most to you? >> the economy and things are not better than it was two years ago. >> why we have those levels of inflation because government spending is out of control. and no one is doing anything about it. it is important to bring adults back on to the room to fix these things. speak with us they can't do their job, why pay tax? i'm leaving next week and i'm going to florida and never coming back. >> i been a democrat all my life. no more. >> carley: that woman said i'm a democrat all my life but no

more. but one woman who didn't want to be on camera said she is a democrat but she will vote for lee zeldin. that is where you get into the conversation what that could mean for the governor's race. the race in the states. but i have done about a million men on the street, todd, and it's not the best way to spend an afternoon. you have a lot of people that don't want to talk. but this was a different experience. everybody wanted their voices to be hard and they had a lot to say. i just asked, you know when i said, do you have any thoughts as the inflation is number one issue facing you right now question at the floodgates right now almost everybody said crime and economy mixed in there as well. one of the things that i learned when it comes to these really tight races, the closing

arguments really matter. a lot of people did bring up what kathy hochul said in the debate to lee zeldin, about i don't understand why crime doesn't matter to you? hillary clinton sings conservative conspiracy theory and voters don't know exactly what is at stake this election cycle. yes, they do and those things matter when it comes down to whether or not people will even vote at all. they are so frustrated the democrats, you know what, i'm staying at home. then they move that vote. >> todd: the thing that i'm picking up that you said, people want their voices heard pure well, not everybody gets a camera put in front of their face. what is the one way every single american over the age of 18 get their voices heard? it is through their vote. this is all going to come down candid republicans turn out the vote? if they do, all the pontificating that we have been doing the last two years in preparation for this midterm, none of that matters. it will all come down to republicans, getting people to vote on crime and inflation. it is that simple. no amount of former presidents

for this person or that person, none of that will matter. tomorrow comes down to the average american who doesn't live and breathe politics like you and i looking at where they are and sagging, i am not happy, i want change." they will vote for the party that gives them that change. >> carley: when it comes to the governor's race and there are other important races like mike lawler, sean patrick patrick maloney. sean patrick maloney's job, it is to keep democrats in power. the fact that he is at risk of losing his job is saying something. but going back to the governor's race, if you think about crime and how that was a major issue forever when i spoke to on the streets, think about what kathy hochul said a few months ago in the summer when she was asked about bail reform. she said, "oh, i will address it but i will address it in january." she didn't say this race was going to be difficult for her to

win. and she was as i say kicking the can down the road until next year. people are saying that is not good enough for me. the last thing i will say gallup came out with a poll which party do you think will do better handling the issue that matters most to you? that is an interesting poll because they don't specify the issue. the person gets to pick the issue that matters most to them. 48% said republicans and 37% said democrats the wages, the widest margin in the long time. >> todd: the issue is the economy, abc washington poles revealing 80% of likely voters say the economy is their top issue combine that number with your number. that means a red tsunami. with that let's bring in rock layer, a poll analyst and ron joins us, ron, it is always about the economy. it always has been, always will be but more so this year. does that spell absolute doom for democrats tomorrow?

>> well, i think everybody is feeling it with inflation and gas prices and a whole bunch of other things. obviously the stock market all over the place. if you look at the polls, 15-point let's advantage and a lot of them for republicans. you look at crime 20% advantage and the funny thing is democrats in the montage earlier abortion is the number one issue but if you look at this poll, only 13-point advantage for democrats. they are not winning big on their issue but republicans winning big on economy and inflation. so i think a significant red wave. we see early vote numbers not as good for democrats and especially nevada a 5,000 vote shared when democrats have a huge, early vote totals from previous years. they are not getting the numbers. so i think we will see a pretty strong day for republicans tomorrow. >> carley: that speaks to voter enthusiasm, ron, what you

were talking about and mpc news poll the democrats are closing nine-point enthusiasm closed from october. in october the enthusiasm gap between democrats and republicans was 78% republican, 69% democrat but now split 73/73. if you are a republican candidate, should that pole concern you? >> the problem is our democrats to turn out election day or voter leak? that is the thing. they didn't have the enthusiasm during the early vote period. the result that take effect. so the democrats have a little bit of a search on democrat and a question mark it is possible. in people to temper their expectations as well. a lot of republicans thinking they won't win in washington. those places are great places to watch, but some of these polls say, "hey, we need to be sober about the results" end. certain states, the republican side like florida and nevada and

some of these other places. may be, like you said may be new hampshire and washington but i would look at ohio and florida for the republicans to close the strongest now. >> todd: speaking of florida, dade miami-dade county could flip bread for the first time in decades. these numbers are scaring a lot of democrats because not expected to have 6,000 vote edge at this point for early voting. register republicans over registered democrats. i will flash forward to election night will miami-dade county when they ultimate final numbers come in and they will get it done early because florida has looked at the errors of their ways and realized, we need to get the vote done quickly. will that need a bellwether for the country on election day? >> i think as a good chance. i don't know if necessarily bellwether but republicans in the future how win over the

hispanic community. miami-dade there are unique issues at play. along with the messaging, especially on crime in the economy as well as governor desantis doing a great job handling hurricane the end. his wife miami-dade will be a county to watch and really florida will be a pretty big red wave in and of itself because governor desantis has done well, especially with en but a lot of economic issues here and you know, again, republicans have to look at miami-dade and say how can we do this other places like loudoun county in southern california and some of these other suburban areas we haven't done well in the last few years? maybe we should learn something from governor desantis and florida republicans how to reach out to diverse communities. speed to one of the latest poll shows desantis is up ten points by 50/50 3/43 so a ten-point margin there. ron meyer, thank you for joining

doesn't this prove stacey abrams is absolutely desperate at this point? >> absolutely. it also shows that she's trying to lay the groundwork for her sore loser campaign of saving our voting laws are suppressive. we all know that there was record turnout in georgia, 2.5 million voters so far in early voting. we have 17 days of early voting. that is 500,000 more voters this election thank 2018. it is the opposite of voter suppression. i would say that the voting booth and a ballot booth is wide open for anyone who wants to vote in georgia. >> todd: to mention black men in their specific response to stacey abrams here at the top advisor to president biden say the black men are being targeted with misinformation. take a listen to this claim. >> i listen as my kids watch nba

once but twice. first the coal comment in the white house walked it back and he comes out with no more drilling comment yesterday. this is just a few days ahead of midterm elections. obviously the economy is the issue on everyone's mind. when you hear the president say something like this, what goes through your mind? >> good morning, carley. i think the most aggravating part about it is, i don't know how many times over the last 18 months or two years that we hear that my administration isn't doing anything to hinder energy production in the country. and always blaming it on someone else like ukraine war were covid or even though oil companies antennae make statements like this. it is extremely aggravating. >> carley: we saw what happened when he entered office. he killed keystone xl pipeline and you have another one now, but he was politically criticized for that from republicans but also democrats

as well. when you look at the swing states, there are 15 coal plants in ohio and 24 coal plants in ohio, michigan plants, do you think this is an issue that could sway the voters one day out from the midterms? >> well, i would like to see if you are a boater and you haven't been through the early voting, can you go vote tomorrow, i hope this is one issue that you will look at. because as far as keeping any promises, this is one promise that biden has kept. he has destroyed energy in this country. i hope some of the voters will look at the candidates and realize how important and energy is in the country and tied to inflation because i don't think the feds raising interest rates will get inflation under control, not to the point where it needs to be. we have to realize the energy plays in this. >> carley: they are tied. eric holcomb alone count

accounts for 22% of electricity in the country. if what the president says turns out to be true and he is successful in shutting down the coal plants, and that's not exactly what he meant, that is what he said. if he is successful in shutting down the plants and replacing with wind or solar, what would that mean for americans? >> well, we always hear the administration to link these workers to go get other jobs and in the green energy field, but a lot of times these workers get labeled as being scared to change. we are not scared to change. we are scared of stupidity. that is what this administration has brought to the table when it comes to energy policies and the country. >> todd: you mention the biden administration assuring people about those jobs and green energy plans. let's take a listen to him saying that. >> we invest in climate resilience and infrastructure. we create opportunities for

everyone. that is the heart of jobs plan. >> by helping families pay the upfront costs for energy efficiency upgrades to their homes comic we are also lowering energy bills, bringing down hou jobs, and fighting the climate crisis. it is all connected. >> carley: but neal i don't need to tell you, a rapid decline in energy sector jobs just last year. petroleum jobs down $31,000 and the coal industry down 70,000 jobs and fuel sector 29,000 jobs. i remember when john kerry stood up there and said, "everybody who lost their job and we shut down the keystone xl pipeline can just get another job in wind or solar." i wear those opportunities? have you been able to find anything in that sector and have you been looking? >> right now our energy is

concentrating on keeping the pipelines and refineries that we do have up and running because we know how important they are but the scary part we have not added any capacity when the demand for oil and gas is on the rise. not only decline but as far as the vice president saying they are doing everything to lower energy bills. i see diesel prices through the roof, they energy bills. i don't understand what she's talking about, but that is nothing new. >> carley: inflation and energy are certainly on the ballot this election cycle. something tells me you will be excited to vote. >> car>> i can't wait for the president. >> carley: two years from now. neil, thank you for joining us. >> thank you. >> carley: taught over to you. >> todd: sports headlines, joey legato the nascar cup title with a season ending victory.
