and i've got this feeling. >> meet again movement that inspires. what exactly hapand welcome to tucker carlson. >> tonight, what exactly happened in yesterday'ned inersm elections? well, we wisprh you could tellwe you with some precision. that's our job., a number of kes but we can'tar because inl a number of key races around the country, we still don' no declared wi have a vote total.nne senate in arizona, for example, there is no declared winner in the senate race or in the governor's race. >> at this point, it seemsms l likely that bothik terry lake

rethey werthey were going to swd tsunami. that's what they told us .nest and to be honest, cautiously believe them.e to weeping but they did not sweep, not even close to sweeping p the republican party in the end may take control of the housar h and the senateouse, but only by thtiny margin at best. that's great. was n otbut it was not the plan. the plan was really simple.d iteasy seemed easy a week ago, n unpopular president , a faltering economy, an open border, the looming risk of nuclear war, how about that? thp thatall those together. how could there not be a massive republican win nationally wins everywhere? well, there weren't some exceptions, but overall there weren't. fact, joe biden was not punisheds out in fact, he was out there bragging about himself today. prettyf pretty frustrating. t you want the republicans to win, not simply because they're so greate so g, but bece democrats are so very bad.t >> and that's not an overstatement. e they'rso what happened? >> well, before we give you.onee our theories as to whateople wht happened, an obvious point, the people whose job it was to win but did not win should go do something else. speaki

now,ng we're speaking specifically of the republican leadership of the house and the senate and of the rnc.na there's nothing personal. some of them arete. no doubt nie people, but they took hundredsol do millions of dollars to paint the map red and they didn't.es doesn't mean they're evil. they it doesn't mean they shouldt be be jailed. it does mean they shouldn'te. be promoted. no one should ever be rewarded for failure. if there's a truly conservative principle in life, it's the principle of the merites that you reward excellence. you do not reward mediocrity. when you do, things fall apart.. democrats kept promoting tony fauci despite his obvious ineptitude. what is that? that's corruption.i despits ine. what is that? that's corruption. republicans should never do anything like that. >> and iike thf they do, what's the point of voting for them?fet >> they're no different. so the question is , why didd republicans underperform last night? you're hearing a lot oicans unde abortiont was about abortion. suburban ladies were mad about roe . that's certainly plausible in some places. probably truy e on the other hand , a number of resolutely pro-life republicans thrived

statewide. re that would include ron johnson in wisconsin, brian kemp inborto georgia, ted budd in northn carolina, pro-life rosol. >> sfacto abortion have been a factor, but it's not why the whole answer. many others are saying that donald trump is the reasonthat republicans didn't do as wel'sli as they thought they would. that's a more complicate thd question. the truth is we can't really thi see the entire picture this early. excuse us . i mean, the truth is trump has d blessingn a mixe politically. the downsides are marbled inwnsi with the upsides. but in thides d withs case, he's certainly not the single cause of anything. republicans last night suffere d d a fair amount of down ballot losses in races that hadp, i nothing to do with trump in o michigan, for example. so whether you like trumr p or not and many don't. and what do it's a lot more complicated than just him. >>am and then there's the most amusingly stupid explanation of thl these useless election talk .at >> s oveo bad candidates were the problem. and that's all over twitter. the twits aresayingdit telling you now the candidates were subpar and that was the problem. candidatates were quality mattef course, strictly speaking, thatf is true. a ctethe quality the candidate?

matter. but at really, how much does i td pres matter?idt two well, let's see.yeo from the >> joe biden got elected president two years ago from his basement. john fetterman became a us n senator last night. doesight anyone think john fetterman was a quality candidate? -ha-ha. is that why heis he won because td quality candidates on the left to the voteres of pennsylvania really want a brain damaged candidate who's never had a real job? do they think he was more impressive than the guy who spent his career doing heart transplants? >> probably not.m credit for you've got to give him credit for at least knowing who theyfe. were voting for and they votedwt fo dr john fetterman. he won anyway. cases what does that tell you?candid it tells you thaate t inqualitys the quality is not actually the most important thing.ll what is ?, they well, the mechanics of an election, they matter. in fact, metimes than matter somi more than any individualle running in the election. the way people vota bi vote makg difference to the outcome.e out. and so, by the way, this access. to channels of communication, why does that matter?es >> tha? well, because you can sa speaever you want, but if noll

one hears you, you're not really speaking. and that's the case for republicans. so often often. as if republicans can communicate their message unencumberedr me on a single caf television channel and a handful of relatively low traffiwebsites. c websites, that's it. >> the rest of the american media amounts to a gigantic filter designed to distort. republicans are saying it's a campaignn ape it apparatus any the democrats have it that yout can whin, e about that all the media are liberal, but it'so not about liberal orns conservative. it's about winning elections. and democrats ca they n because they have that. so if republicans want to win elections, too, they might spend some money to fix that, pay to achieve parity. >> so to restate, as of tonight, democrats haveel far more control ofecti, and alt the election machinery and almost total control o f the american media. d and republicanon'ts don't. quef these are not ideological problems. it's not a question of who's righ t on the issues. that's that's settled certainly in our mind, but probably ined indt probably in the the minds of even peopleepublica who would vote republican if it t occurred to them. t it

but it doesn't because they don't know what they stand for. thesthey don't know whate are q of who's right and who's wrong,a but who makekes s into elected c office of who wields power ie,n many. care about th the right don't seem to understand this at all. they don't care abouetar the details. two and a half yearsago, ago, the last administration and its republican allies in congress watched passively, seemingly in glassy eyed sedation as the democratic party used the pretext of covid to rewrite election laws around t the country in order to get its own candidates into office. they didn't do it by accident. ce. th accidenthey knew what they wg last night. those laws, many of whic h are still on the books, paid offtern generously. b john fetterman bombed in his public debate. he you saw it. humiliated himsel he humiliated himself. he made a mockery off. the election, but it didn't matter. by that point, thanks to earlya. voting veterans margin was already in the bank. nearly 70% of democrats hada voted early. in the pennsylvania races,f repu only 20 percent ofbl republicans did. so, okay, it's over, but itese r doesn't need to be repeated. t r

these are fixable problems.ut. you can get your message out. t you can force the other side. if you try hard enough to agree on fair election rules. but you can't do anyf othatf te unless you acknowledge these problems exist. so those are probably the real problems. but enough of the depressing recap. there were bright spots last e we night. re there were, asy ha as dispiritee may have been. imtportanink it's importan .to enjoy them always.ing. the good news is worthece of savoring. so the first piece of good newse is actually the flip side of the worst piece of news, which is tha ews, which it john ketterman won won withou pennsylvania and then went to john fetterman win, but heeas yoingln without speaking a singe coherent sentence foru the entire campaign. sense it's now, you may hav ae been appalli by that, but in some sense, instead, achievementev. l john fetterman in winning shattered the thickest of allcer glass ceilings, which foier the centuries has prevented the unapologetically brainunapol john fet damage from winning statewide election. so john fetterman is not justu.a a us senator now.pioneer. he's a pioneer.s and there's nothinnog

the democratic party loves,an a reveres and elevates more quickly tha n a pioneer. >> take a look at the white house press secretary. so the question is , given hisan or inspiring achievementsp,fr how can john fetterman not be the front runner foe rdemocr the democratic nomination in 2024twenty , twenty four ? we can't control that.d we let him in kamala fight it out. but in the meantime, expectfor e a huge amount of uncomfortable entertainment value from senator johnnajohn fetterman. savor every moment. so the second piece of good news for republicans that they really should celebrate because it's greatgreat, imes soe watching your enemies get vanquished is a virtue in itself. virtthe triple c congressionallf chairman sean patrick , th, maly ,lost probably the wealthiest, slipperiest, by far notmember the stupidest member of oe congress on the democratic side. decratic side, losing to michael waller in a race when he lost to a man called michael lawler in a race thatho nobodyught a thought a republicn could ever win. in a moment, we'll speak to lawa and ask how he did it. o but it seems like lawler wone fs for a couple of reasons. thathe first is that seanr and

pat cipollone, like so many other democrats, spent the last year and a half huffing and puffing about january 6th. >> they're going to winhe on january 6th. and unlike most of i them clevers, he is more he seems to actually believe it. he's the one who claimed that officer brian was, quote, killed on january 6th last night after defeat. u maloney once again invoked, can you guess it, january 6th, a short while ago, i spoke to my opponento, michael lawler, and congratulated him on a goodh win. some of th we hope the high watermark of some of the anger and the division that we have dealt with this entire cycle from january six on through. and we hope for something americ better for our country because that's what americans deserve. we mentioned he was clever.a grc so whaiot seemed like a gracious concession and we're all in need of those on both sides.h it was, in fact another attack6th,t on januaryhe six ,s interestings

the insurrection. >> what's interesting is that moloney' thas district is fairli upscale. it includes the north suburbs of new york city. it went for biden by five points just a couple of years ago, and that support collapsed last night. trouble winni rew, there's one group republicans have had trouble winning recently. cently, since the inversion of . it's upper income white collar voters. but in that district, they wento republican . so republicans should study what happened there and not e, t just there. all over new york , democrats lost several seats across the hudson valley, long islandnn ,in very blue areas. blu and that means the democrat this is their base, upscale suburban voters. vulne democrats arrae more vulnerable than they believtheye they are.. and again, republicans should study how exactly that happened. ce that udiedone race that willd is wha for quite a long time las and enjoyed for at least six years is what happened in ohio last night. republicanned ths in ohio stunnd the democratic party. now they'll tell you, oh, wass a

a republican state. but even by the standards ofrepc a so-called republican state, t republicans dominated in ohioem lastocrat , i don't know, democt came within ten points of any republican in races fornow, in o executive positions or supreme court races. now, ifamous racforn now famouso senate in ohio, democrats spent tens of millions of dollars. more than the winner did. that would be jd vance but j.d.. e wo but jd vance one and only . did he win? he won as a decent person.e in and that's rare in any legislative body, any one on the right message. >> watch this. j wh now, the people ofat ohio haveot given the job and what we needr to do over the next couple ofe l year -s, over the next six years for the full the full length of this senate term.ma, whatever the president looks whoever is in the majority, e whatever the president looks like, we simpl a very simple jot to do. it's to go to work every singloe day and fight for the people of ohio, fight for our workers,

. so that is really good news.'s a lly goodalmost as good. we will not see for quite some time the likes of beto o'ru o'rourke and stacey abramsrkagas again, becauset, they lost yet agai yn how many offices have these to run for? how much money have democratic voters, donors spent to get them elected? >> a lot.ha-ha- it doesn't matllionsha of dollas .te and both are unemployed because it doesn't matter how much youhh spend on the advertising campaign for the dog food ofsp e the dogs don't like it. >> they will need it. campaign o that's an old song from political consultants. and in this case, itg po is tru they do work. and stacey abrams rejected thoroughly in favor of people who are not professional politicians in a number ofably cases on the republican side. so the now the lasthappened l and probably biggest piece of good news, as you alreadasy kno, t inhat happened last nigh the state of florida. put bluntly, ron desantis absolutely killed. itis. >> and the closer you look at the numbers, the more interesting and revealing and heartening it is .
10:16 pm
votersf evereduc oatiof every el supported ron desantis over charlie crist. ro that is not happen typically in elections statewide, ron desantis even won among postgrads by seven percent. if you think that sounds normal, go look at the past five elections. republicans do not wintewide statewide among people with postgraduate degrees. but santos did. he won all but desan five countiesti inloa florida. so to the astonishment of msnbc, and the entire democratic political establishment, does, santos even managed to flip miami dade county? now, miami dade is by definition a democratic county, but he was not the only flipp republican who won there. another did as wele l. 3 miami-dade went for hillary clinton by thirty points in 2016. >> listen to the audible gasps at msnbc is they realized hispanic voters had betrayed their explicit instructions. i'm told we just got miami-dade. this is a big one in florida.a. let's take a look at this.we we got yeah. let's put this in

was out of the ordinary, and pro. as we told you a minut unexpectede and profound.r thi and as wthate told you a minute ago, the other thing that great happened was kind of great that we're enjoying is that the guy in charge of getting democratste elected to congress himself lost. his name is sean pat cipollone. s namewho represented the hudson valley, who was beaten by mikehs lawlor's.on now the congressman elect, congress and he joins us tonight. >> congressman elect, thanks soa he j much for coming on .oinsks for c how'oming on how d you do this? me, thanks for having me. tuckerr., well, look, democrats control everything in washington, albany, in new york city for the first crea time in our nation's history.n b soand they have created anear ro absolute mess of forty one yearo record hign,h on inflation, surging crime, skyrocketing energy, costs and a porous southern border with not only a massive inflow of illegal immigration, but drugs comingr into our communities, killing three hundred americans a day and voters w in new york were fe up and they had enough. they wanted to restore balance and common sense to every level we'v of government we've pickede pi f

elections we seem to have here in arizona. we're going to change that. this is one of the reasons people are voting for me. one of the reasons that i will win is the voters in arizona are tired of shoddy elections that are run by imbeciles. that's going to change. >> tucker: they're proving your point. really quick, what's your plan tomorrow? >> well, we're going to wait for the votes to come in. we think they're going to start go heavily our way. we'll see what happens from there. we do feel very confident -- i have 100% confidence that we win this. i'm sleeping well. we know how things work in maricopa county. they drag their feet. we will wait. god did not, you know, decide this was going to be an easy route. when you are trying to work through corruption at high-levels and incompetence at high levels, you've got to dig through, get to the other side of that. when we get to the other side of this and win, that's where we will start to make sure we root out all corruption in our government and all incompetence.

10:59 pm
national hurricane center makes this big yellow bubble to say where are the disruptive winds. well, then we have the strongest winds right here in the orange. watch as it comes ashore here tonight. so about 1:00 in the morning, we expect the peak winds right at the coast. that's called the treasure coast, south of cape canaveral, the biggest push of water will be there. the water will be piled against all of the florida coast. then tomorrow, it continues as a strong winds cover the entire northern half of the state during the day. then finally by late in the day, things start to let up. the system moves up the east coast. heavy rain all the way up to new england over the weekend. tucker? >> tucker: all the way up to new england. brian norcross for us, fox weather hurricane specialist, nice to see you. thanks for that. we've got continuous coverage of what is called hurricane nicole on the fox weather app.
