thank goodness, it looks like we are going to have a republican congress to some degree and we can curb some of that spending and hopefully help americans out because we know we cannot rely on joe biden. >> steve: you know, you have touched on the most important thing, you know, if joe biden were really worried. joe biden would have been on the ticket on tuesday. he would have done everything in his power to bring down gas price that would mean he calls up all the gas companies you know what? we have been cracking down on you, we are going to open u.s. oil production up and the price of gas would have dropped and so would everything. >> yeah, well, of course, is he not doing that. >> steve: no. >> only thing he has done go beg opec and saudi arabia to help us out and, of course, tap into the strategic petroleum reserve. something reserved for war time and natural disasters. he is not willing to do what it takes to bring down gas prices. and here we are 7.7% year over year inflation. it's not going down. we are in a recession.
5:45 am
we have been in a recession. thank goodness the republicans are coming in because, man, we need it now more than ever. >> steve: so looking ahead. you know, we don't know exactly how it's going to shake out. it looks right now the congress is going to lean towards the republicans and it sounds like georgia is going to come down to georgia and another runoff. so, going forward, the republicans will be able to do, what? >> well, i think the good news is that the republicans are not going to be the ones putting forward these, you know, pork laden spending bills that are really hurting our economy. the fact is, you look at what the democrat have done, the inflation reduction act, what a joke, what an insult to the american people to put out that had nothing to do with bringing down inflation. we have seen time over time they are willing to spend our money to no end and put us further into debt the republicans will be doing the opposite of that. >> steve: see what the final tots are in all races.
5:46 am
thank you for joining us from virginia where you had a rainy night. >> we did, thanks, steve. >> steve: now a quarter to the top of the hour go from florida to california. >> carley: we certainly do, steve. in california, that's where a murder suspect is stopped trying to steal laundry detergent. taking action after seeing the man being chased out of the supermarket by the store manager after running his information and seeing the murder warrant, that suspect was hauled off to jail. the detergent was also returned. a protester taken into custody after tossing eggs at king charles and the queen consort. the ugly scene happened yesterday as the monarchs were greeting a crowd in the city of york. the young man who tossed the eggs was taken away by the police. he reportedly remains in custody this morning. oh, boy. it. >> brian: week 10 of the nfl happens to involve the dallas cowboys no surprise. fox really lucked out on this one. dak prescott and the cowboys will head to lambeau field to take on aaron rodgers and green bay packers. lead nfl panelist on the a team joins us now. greg olsen. thank you for joining us in your den it looks like. so first things first.
5:53 am
are the packers as bad as 3 and 6 records? >> yeah, we were there last week in detroit for that tough loss against the lions. they are just really struggling right now. there is really no -- there is a lack of continuity wide receiver with young receivers, rookies trying to get up to speed and then those guys are coming in and out robeio, dobbs, first play of the game catches a nice ball. he leaves, doesn't come back. we will see how long is he out. offensive line there has been some musical chairs upfront. aaron rodgers is playing with a really really small margin for error. and the longer you play with that margin of error throughout the nfl season, the more negative things that are going to happen. it's just kind of a combination of a lot of things right now for green bay. >> brian: dallas cowboys daca prescott injured in first week they thought the season was over. how has it turned around to where many believe they are in the upper echelon maybe top 4 in the league? >> yeah no, question.
5:54 am
give mike mccarthy a credit. week one we saw the cowboys seasons was going up in flames. zac goes out as you mentioned with the thumb. they get beat pretty goodbye tampa, and people thought it was over. next thing you know cooper rush comes. in he kind of keeps them afloat. the defense is dominant. michael parsons could potentially be the defensive player of the year. mike mccarthy goes back to green bay. kind of a homecoming for him. he spent, you know, obviously super bowl champion, long time coach in green bay. that's going to be a fun kind of moment for him and rogers to share the field again. i'm really impressed with this dallas cowboys team. dan quinn, the defensive coordinator. they have done a great job. their last game before the bye. daca was back looking like himself. this dallas team as you mentioned not only one of the best teams in the league but probably the favored to win the afc. >> brian: now the big story in new york is odell beck heam the team that drafted the giants, a giant would never go to the cowboys, but he went to the
5:55 am
browns, the rams, gets hurt, free agent. it looks like jerry jones really want to sign him. should he? how close is he to healthy? >> i think that's the question, brian. the key is no question when healthy impact player. we saw what he did last year out in los angeles with the rams on the way to the super bowl with devastating and heart breaking to see him get injured in the super bowl. that's obviously comeback and really pushed out the start of his season, if he is healthy, and he can go out there and be the odell that we have all seen for a long time then yeah i think he can help a lot of teams in this league. >> brian: you know you are having a big year and also a big announcement. fox nfl sunday always do something for the military on veterans day. now they are going to be air base in qatar, two hour show, happens to be the place of the world cup which we are covering. it's going to be pretty cool, right? i know you are going to be preparing for the game to see terry and the guys pretty cool they are doing. this i think it's really cool. what a cool opportunity for fox to bring over the studio crew
5:56 am
and be able to do it from an air force base, be over there. you mentioned at the kickoff of the world cup. i think the entire world is looking forward to watching that so we'll be in green bay. those guys will be in qatar, it's going to be a fun week. >> brian: new played soccer you would have pretty much dominated every head bowl. greg olsen, thanks so much, appreciate it. >> appreciate you. >> brian: meanwhile straight ahead i have got to mention. this don't forget the fox bet super 6 app. is offering you a chance to win terry bradshaw's money, $50,000: all you have to do is this is download the fox bet super 6 app. and picks packers game for a chance to win terry bradshaw's money. going to be exciting. soon he will be brooke broke. more "fox & friends" in a moment.
