but now you're an american and you you root for mexico over chile, cool. but when the united states plays mexico, it's america. rachel: real quick, first of all, you did lose me at sports, but i spoke once to a very prominent puerto rican politician, and he wants puerto rico to become a state. so i said, well, if puerto rico becomes a state, would to you be willing to not have a olympic team and you'd have to be part of the -- pete: i feel like that would be automatic. rachel: i didn't know. so i said how do you feel about that? and he said, yeah, that would be fine. and i said, what about in the miss world competition, you know, miss pert' coe, you know, they love. and he said, no. [laughter] we'll join the americans if we become the states in the olympics, but we will not give up miss puerto rico.

pete: i don't think it works that way. arizona does not get to compete in the miss world competition. arizona competes with the u.s. i'm sort of hoping we keep it to 50 states at this point. rachel: i just thought it was interesting it wasn't about sports for them, it was about the beauty competition. they love miss puerto rico. [laughter] all right. well, new oversight, fox news predicts catherine cortez masto will keep their seat in nevada. pete: even if georgia goes for herschel walker, vice president kamala harris will remain the tie-breaking vote. will: alexandria hoff joins us with the late'sest. >> reporter: republican adam laxalt admitted in a tweet that his victory window had narrowed, and by with last night catherine cortez masto was projected to keep her seat in the silver state. this was an ultra-tight competition that took over four

days to decide. over 75 president of voters -- 75 president of -- 75% of voters used early voting there. voters will once again choose between republican herschel walker and democratic senator rafael walker on december 6th in georgia. chuck schumer commended holding off the republicans. >> the american people said even if they didn't agree with us on the issues, that the other party is being taken over by a group that doesn't believe in democracy. this election is a vindication of the deep roots our democracy has with the american people. >> reporter: in the house republicans are poised to secure a 218 majority, they need just 7 more seats to do so. almost two dozen races have yet to be called. in arizona's race for governor, the vote count continues as kari lake trails democrat katie hobbs by more than 34,000 votes, but still 268,000 votes still need

to be processed. back to nevada, i mentioned that a vast majority of voters utilized early voting, and every registered voter in the state was sent a mail-in ballot, that's why it took so long as ballots were still being accepted through yesterday, they just had to be postmarked by yesterday. pete: every voter mailed a ballot. will: 75% of voting in nevada early or mail-in ballot. pete: and it was all because of covid -- rachel: well, they wanted that. when covid hit, so many democrats were saying this is our chance to get all these things passed. pete: sure. let's bring in "fox news sunday" anchor shannon bream. shannon, good morning. first, top line, your reaction to the calling of the race out in nevada and how that affects the race in georgia and the overall balance of the senate. >> i wonder what the excitement level will be for republicans in georgia knowing that even if

herschel walker is elect, they're not going to be able to overcome what the democrats want to do in the senate. my first thought was always where i go as the legal nerd, resident geek on that front is that judicial confirmations are a humongous deal if there's a supreme court opening. democrats will control that process, and they'll be able to put more of president biden's judges through, and that's a legacy that every president leaves, but it'll be much easier with democrats in control of the senate. will: hey, shannon, do you think now that democrats have achieved 50 senators in the united states what we'll see is a pullback in any way in georgia in terms of the investment, the money dedicated by both parties in georgia? >> it's possible. we know that millions of dollars have already poured in knowing that it's going to this december 6th runoff. please not january, we can only do this for a few more weeks. i am curious to see now that the senate is locked down essentially. whether some of that money or

star power pulls back, it would still be a huge prize for republicans to have that seat, and as someone here in the studio wisely said to me, democrats get to that 51 mark and without the vice president's vote, it makes things easier with regard to negotiating with joe manchin, and he's had an outsized role here in washington. and he will not enjoy that so much anymore, i don't think, if senator warnock is reelected. rachel: shannon, there were a lot of questions on the republican side, on the senate side about the allocation of money and given how this election has turned out for republicans in the senate, what are you hearing, what are the sort of, you know, monday night quarterbacking about how that money was spent? >> it seems like that that that that's e part of the conversation, let's hold off on our elections here in the senate because the people who were in charge of making sure there were more red senators than blue senators are doing a lot of head

scratching and thinking about places that minority leader mitch mcconnell, where his superpac and their money was sent. senator rick scott was many charge of getting more red seats, so that conversation, you've seen the letters and the tweets from folks like marco rubio and mike lee and josh hawley saying let's hold off and decide what we're going to do with leadership. is mitch mccobble in any real -- mitch mcconnell many any real threat of not being in leadership again? we'll see, that conversation's happening again. pete: who do you have this first sunday after the election on your show? >> we've got a couple of up and come orers, congressman jim banks is running for whip assuming that house republicans do actually take control of the house, and we're still waiting for a definitive pronouncement on that. but we'll talk about the leadership values, and governor-elect wes moore out of maryland. this is his first elected office, and already there is talk of him running for president. so we'll talk with him as well. and our reporters who are out

[laughter] pete: i'm talking about wes moore and his prospects as a future nationwide candidate. it will begin -- rachel: does it remind you of what happened with obama? pete: a little bit. will: living in search of a star for quite some time. rachel: what do they like about them in -- him? peter: he's a vet, he's an author. i haven't seen him on the stump, but he's good on tv. the money crowd here in new york city likes him, the networks like him -- will: one thing that sets him apart from previous candidates is that he won.

beto o'rourke and stacey abrams, celebrity candidates who never managed to win, at least he has won an election. pete: previously a republican governor there, so you could say it's a pick-up -- rachel: it is a pretty blue state. wes moore getting a lot of fawning, but a democrat who doesn't is representative hen i cuellar -- henry cuellar, and that is because he is a border representative. he also wants the democrat party to be tougher on the border. he's been begging president biden to come down and see what his policies have done to the people of his district. and here's what he told neil cavuto during a recent interview. listen. neil: you have not talked to joe biden since he was running for the presidency? not since he got the presidency? >> that is, that is correct. but again, i offered myself as a resource because, again, i don't

just come visit the border, i actually live here at the border. pete: so this, that interview happened yesterday, quite a stark admission. not all that surprise considering his stance on the border, the administration. by the way, we talked about chris magnus on the program yesterday, he's, he was biden's top border official. they wanted him to quit or resign or threatened that he'd be fired. he said, no. well, yesterday he did officially resign from his role, preventing him from if being hauled in front of congress, frankly, should the republicans hold the house. will: this is a story we've talked about for quite some time. with the outcome of the midterm elections, you have decreased optimism that anything will be done about the border. kari lake has promised she would declare an invasion in arizona. pete: good point. will: that would be to the relief of many like jim chilton who's an arizona ranch owner. these are the conditions he's

dealt with going on two behalf years with, more. listen. >> my wife, super sue, was home alone, and she heard knocks on the door. he goes and opens the door -- she goes and opens the door, and she recognized the people standing out there were ms-13s. they had the tattoos, and they're easily identifiabling. it was kind of scary. that's just life on the border. this is my home. i'm staying. i'm not going to leave. many of my fellow ranchers in this area have left. they can't take the pressure. but i have a family cemetery, and i'm either going to be on top of the ground or below the ground, but i'm not leaving. rachel: oh, god, you've just got to love that guy. little bit of yellowstone in there, isn't there? will: there actually is. rachel: i've got people buried here. people say a lot of ranchers have left the area. i've met some of those ranchers who have said i don't feel safe, they have young kids maybe and they're leaving. but this is their land. this is america, and they're so mad that, you know, this is happening and that people in washington don't care and won't even come see it. pete: it's true. will, you mentioned kari lake. if you're looking for optimism right now this morning, look at her race. there's still a lot of ballots to come. charlie kirk, who follows arizona as closely as anybody, says be patient. we shouldn't be waiting, but the ballots that are coming are from areas and based on timing that are very good for kari lake. in fact, the last dump last night went 52-48 for her. if she wins in arizona a, if you care about election integrity and it not being election month, if anyone's going to attack that problem, it's going to be the californialy lake. -- carr --

kari lake. she has said she will declare invasion from day one. a. rachel: i believe her. pete: she could become at the state level the democrats' worst nightmare. so there still in a cher -- is a cherry on top of this you know what of an election. yes, the senate was called, that's a big one -- rachel: what did charlie tell you about who's watching all this counting going on? pete: they say that arizona has, the republican party there, turning point and others, have ramped up, and they have full mobilization of poll watchers involved in the process act we'vely. you know, he's -- actively. he's been skeptical about anybody, but he said we worked hard to make sure we had that canvassed and covered, and he's getting information that we're -- the ballots that are putting into box 3 to go to phoenix to be counted, many of those are are, he says many of those are election day republicans because everyone in arizona when i talked to them there, are you voting, they said

we're voting on election day when i was at that dine, they feel that overwhelmingly cuts for carly lake. will: as we -- carrie lake. on that note, we don't have to resign yourself to election week, it is possible to have election day. that's been illustrated in florida and the reforms put forward in florida over a number of years to rehabilitate that election process. on that note of optimism, you do now have a republican governor in nevada who the two states we continue to limp across the finish line and watch were arizona and nevada. you now have a republican governor in nevada. potentially, a republican governor in arizona. and you have a right to expect you can accomplish the same types of reforms that were accomplished in florida. pete: that's the standard at this point. if you're not willing to do what florida is was willing to do, why did you run for government? rachel: i agree. i'm from arizona. a lot of people on on the edge of their seats.

[laughter] way. rachel: i could. pete: turning now to a few additional headlines this morning. a deadly shooting outside of a high school football game in orlando leaves one person dead and three others injured. officers were patrolling the grounds when they heard gunshots coming from the parking lot. orlando police say they have a suspect in custody, but officials are still investigating the crime scene. and a reuters investigation reveals a billion dollars of customer money has disappeared

from cryptocurrency exchange ftx. this comes after founder and ceo sam bankman-frieded is accused of secretly transferring $10 billion to his trading company, alameda research are. he claims there was just confusing labeling. ftx is moving millions of dollars into offline crypto wallets citing unauthorized transactions after reports say $473 million in crypto assets were stolen. what a mess. will: wow. pete: the company filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy on friday. he's a big democrat donor, by the way, pledged a billion in this cycle. didn't quite live up to that. a. rachel: he's so young to have all these billions of dollars. pete: that's crypto. yeah. the biden administration, get this one, guys, denying a tax break for member members new york's fighting 69th infantry on the terror-torn kenya task.

they're in ken ca ya -- kenya with fighting terrorism there. joe biden has not designated the area as a combat zone, so those in the infantry have to pay taxes while serving overseas while in you're in kuwait or any other combat zone, you're not paying taxes. members of the fighting 69th are preparing for deployment to the horn of africa. they say it would cost about $175 million over the course of the deployment to do right by these deployed service members. will: it has to be declared a combat zone? pete: it's all inside the pentagon, but if you're going to a combat, it's a tax-free deployment. if your not, like -- you're not, maybe on a training exercise or to europe, you do pay taxes. there are a lot of places around the world where bullets aren't flying, and then you go to kenya new york politician out there,

someone will take up the cause of the fighting 6 9th to get those guys paid. ray it's amazing the things that americans should really get behind, they're not doing. pete: by the way, we paid ten times that much for trans troops in the military than the $175 million. just saying. rachel: do you want to depress us more today? pete: doing everything i can. jinping face to face for the first time since he became president. here to react is senior fellow at the gatestone institute the, author of "the coming chance of china," our friend, gordon chang. gordon, thanks for being here. the stakes of this meeting, he's talking red lines and all that, but xi jinping's just consolidated his power. what's at stake? >> well, xi jinping on tuesday told china's military commanders to get ready for war. pete: yes. >> now, we've heard that before, pete, but xi jinping's comments were unhinged, and we've got to remember that he's engaged in not only the biggest military buildup since the second world war, he's also mobilizing chinese society for war. so this is the both civilian and military. this is a whole-of-country approach, and this means we don't know what he intends, but we do know what he's trying to be capable of, and that means

we've got to have reciprocal actions to prepare us to defend ourselves and our allies. pete: do we? because he's been very clear about his one china policy which means taiwan is ours, and they've been building, as you said, building up militarily, preparing the population culturally for that. if it comes, do you believe this administration is prepared? >> no, this administration is not prepared. you know, they had this general notion that china is war-like, but they say, well, if war comes, it won't be before 2027, probably will be sometime in the middle of the next decade. and you hear this also in the pentagon, not only the senior civilian officials like lloyd austin, the defense secretary, but also among the three and four stars. there is a hack of a sense of urgency. -- lack of a sense of urgency. and this is at a time when china is getting everybody ready. this is the mismatch.

they can take us by surprise, and this is a failure across the american political spectrum. of it's not just biden, it's a lot of other people in washington as well. pete: the foreign policy consensus on china was wrong for a very long time, but you mentioned that. the prediction of 2027 brought to you by the very same people that said, oh, don't worry, the taliban won't take over in afghanistan. or, don't worry, we can prevent vladimir putin from invading ukraine. those are signals -- if this were to start, how do you think it would start for us, gordon? >> yeah. a lot of people in washington say that we'd is a lot of notice of china invading taiwan, but i don't think that we would because i believe that the first thing that china will do is to spread a disease in taiwan and maybe other places as well. so this would be a silent start of the war. and then, of course, we'd see the other things like attacks in space bringing down our satellites and all the other things. but we have a defense

will once again be the tie-breaking vote. here is fox news contributor charlie hurt. we were just talking leading into this conversation, to some extent, georgia doesn't matter. >> you're exactly right. will: it's been decided, democrats now have the senate. >> the only thing that matters is sort of a procedural thing, does kamala harris have to motorcade from the white house down to the capitol on tight votes where it's going to come down to a party-line vote. but you make the point it's right, it doesn't matter. democrats are going to be in control. the one vote that's going to matter which is who's going to be majority leader in the senate which will be, in this case, chuck schumer, they have that whether they need kamala harris to put 'em over or not is the only thing -- will: it's been pointed out, it may matter to joe manchin. is he no longer the man who can decide every vote? if they end up with 5 51 senators, perhaps it relieves some pressure off of manchin. >> and also takes away a little

[laughter] will: no doubt. along with power comes pressure. what about on the republican side? chuck schumer's set to be the majority leader in the senate. what happens on the republican side in leadership? >> to me, that's the most interesting question going forward because mitch mcconnell is the highest elected republican leader in the country, and his responsibility is to build majorities in the senate and govern as a republican. and this is a massive failure on husband part. obviously, the senate -- his part. obviously, the senate map was difficult, but in this environment where you have 75% of americans dissatisfied with where things are going, the idea that not only --ing it appears, and this could change with georgia, this could be the one thing -- not only did they not capture the majority, but they could be looking at having lost a seat, and that's devastating. but to sit there and listen to chuck schumer talk about how they have a mandate and how this is some sort of a, an approval

of senate democratic leadership in the country is, i think, a dramatic misreading of the election. will: i think so as well, charlie. what you would think would set them up for massive failures in 2024, but i thought there would be massive failures in 2022 based upon the issues, based upon the polling, based upon the headwinds for joe biden. so i'm real hesitant to say, well, is chuck schumer 100% wrong? i think he's wrong to think he has a mandate, to feel emboldened, but it makes me wonder, when to they ever pay price in. >> well, no, that's a great point. and, obviously, we got over our skis in predicting exactly what was going to happen in this election. and i have to say i am very surprised by how it's turned out. but it does sort of remind me a little bit of the 2012 election where barack obama eked through, but -- and the fact that he eked through, everybody, democrats said, oh, look, we won, everything's okay.

the democrats lost a thousand seats across the country under barack obama's leadership. and then, of course, what followed 2012? 2016. will: right. >> and it was that pent-up frustration that didn't get vented in the 2012 election and, quite frankly, i think that's the situation we're in right now is where that frustration didn't get vented in this election, and it's, and then, of course, the senate map looks much better for republicans in two years and in four years. and if so i think that that venting is going to come, it just didn't come time. will: all right. we'll watch. two more years. which actually starts, i think, this week. >> exactly. headlines, florida residents got quite the wake-up call yesterday morning when a massive spaceship landed causing a sonic boom. [background sounds] rachel: many floridians believed the noise came from a ufo. it unexpectedly returns to the kennedy space center. i used to live on edwards air force base, and i would hear those sonic booms from the space shuttle all the time. two men are sentenced to at least seven years in prison after using construction equipment to steal atm machines. one of three robberies in england in which the burglars used a large claw to tear through the building and steal the cash machine. authorities were finally able to track down the suspects after using dna tracing. officials say the total damage caused is stated to be more than $2 million. and those are your headlines.

launching his own classical catholic school built on lessons from his military training and his catholic faith. pete: great story. lieutenant commander ali gafari joins now. thank you for your service -- >> pleasure. pete: you said i don't like what's going on at school, tell us about it. >> yeah. we're a military family who's traveled all around the country. my last tour i put my kids in the local schools, i thought they'd be well off and realized i was not getting what i was hoping for. and for me, i want my kids to go to heaven, to love jesus, be saints and live lives of virtue, and that wasn't the math i felt they wered rodding -- path. my middle daughter, she was struggling. they were doing common core math at school, and every night was a battle. i said we can't do this. and then i heard about classical education, and then i thought about potentially starting a

school. i went to visit one, i was absolutely amazed by what i saw, the depth of the questioning, the teachers asking the question, why, why, why and kids going deeper and broader. and that's what i want for my kids. will: would you do me this favor, and for many watching just because pete sits on couch and he's written a rot about it, rachel's made this decision as well, would you explain the choice you made not just for your family, but your school, classical education. >> it comes from the greenings. the greeks wanted to know what does a good life look like? and they came up with living lives of virtue and asking the big questions and living a life that, that is hon rational -- honorable. and that life frees you to have many choices and do many things whereas a life that is vocessed on vocation, it kind of hems you in to one particular career, and it doesn't give you opportunities to do other things. a classical education focuses on training these children up in

virtue. and it does it through the greatest works of western civilization, these books that are so inspiring, have inspired generations for 2,000 years. the kids love hair homework, they love going to school, they love studying and discussing big topics. it's wonderful to see. rachel: so you're a veteran, but you say there is a war on the souls of our kids. >> yeah. the education that our kids are getting out there in the public schools and even, sadly, in some our parochial schools is very secularized. and that agenda is contrary to them going to heaven, and it's very focused on the here and now. it ignores the heaven and the eternal. and so bringing that back and putting god back at the center, where he belongs, in the focus, for us we do that with mass and the rosary and chapel every day, and god's the center of our curriculum. it doesn't mean we don't do many other things --
