from the year before it doubled the rate of migrants coming across from the trump administration. with chris magnus resigning police and agents working aboard are not optimistic things will get better pretty serious and angry choice the border patrol union said he was brought on to change the culture and policy of policing at the border. but the union says border patrol does not have a cultural problem and has a leadership problem. some direct quotes we have little confidence that his, magnus replacement will be any better. the court problem means biting kamala harris, and mayorkas. in an e-mail to cbp mayorkas said troy miller who ran the agency before magnus took over will take over on an interim basis, arthel back to you. arthel: mike tobin 11 texas thank you very much. eric: president biden is continuing on his trip to asia.

talks a tight wet congratulations to senator schumer were focusing now on georgia. and i know i am a cockeyed optimist. i am not surprised by the turnout i'm incredibly pleased. think it's a reflection of the quality of our candidates. parts of biden touchdown in indonesia a few hours ago at a pivotal meeting with the greatest economic military rivals first face-to-face meeting with chinese president sheeting being billed as a keynote event of this trip. the white house is sitting low expectations trekking out deliverables and framing goals run managing a contentious relationship after xi jinping titan grip on power with an unprecedented third term in the biden a few months ago u.s. troops would intervene if china invaded taiwan which the white house again walked back

insisting there is no change in long-standing u.s. policy. >> you didn't say if you would tell xi jinping personally you are committed to defending taiwan. >> and gwen have a conversation with him. >> in cambodia biden called out beijing's grab for regional dominance without naming names offering a full throated commitment to southeast asian nations pretty closely summit with sidelined means of japanese and south korean leaders to discuss north korea's growing threats following months of ramped up displays of force. when icbm missile ten days ago prompting evacuation in northern japan. biden plans to push chinese president to wield his influence biden will frame as a mutual interest year to get kim jong-un own to curtail those of force for another we are watching of saudi arabia he will attend a president biden is not slated to

meet with him, eric recollects. eric: right jacqui life for us thank you. >> i know xi jinping i spent more time than any other world leader. was very little misunderstanding with that affair with the red lines are in the most important thing to each of us over the next two years. >> present biden cambodia yesterday and his relationship president biden says he wants to establish redlines on hot button issues since president biden was elected former associate white house counsel tube president george w. bush and founder of the national security institute prospective the present had to say pretty that is familiar with president xi and they have very little misunderstanding. so if that is the foundation of this foreign affair, what does that pretend for the biden

president sheet relationship? how about unfold? >> think the president is hopeful the chinese in the united states will cooperate on climate change and the like. think that's going to be hard given that china's building half the coal plants already. but the president is optimistic about that for the same can the president's clear either differences between us we do not agree on taiwan, we do not agree on exports of certain types the u.s. regionally put in place significant restrictions on chinese ability to get semiconductor technology as well as to get parts manufacturing semi conductors for this would be something of a contentious conversation from the president said were going to figure out where our red lines are and to understand each other but hard to believe that we any real deals got in this situation. what if you redlines payment and taiwan, north korea, trade, how opaque indents willows redlines fee? quick scene of the 20 challenges i think we have it. figuring out how much to convey
1:08 pm
in him to hold those lights up as you know the obama administration was set that redline on sierra, did not enforce it. having a hard time deciding is made clear publicly saying we did not need to interfere militarily as the same time jacqui just said the white house walked right back. to the president is going to be very clear with president xi and understanding where the red lines are put at the same time he was to build that cooperation, that relationship that's going to be hard to do. arthel: present she is said put more military in the area that is going to tea me off it. president said he and president xi have to outline the most important things to each of them going into the next two years. what do you think will be tops on the wish list for each precedent? >> for the united states certainly were going to talk about china's relationship with russia. they introduces no limits partnership in the media lead up to the ukraine conflict.
1:09 pm
we want to put pressure on north korea stopped launching ballistic missiles towards us and in the area of out allies. we also want them to stop turning taiwan. they sent 36 planes over the taiwan strait and bombers into the air defense base in taiwan. that is a real problem for us. the chinese in this article and say look give a lot of tariffs on a ship pressure on us with semi conductors. i want let us deal that stop saying we engage in genocide and dealing with her muslim uyghur population. there will be a lot of tension in this conversation both sides of things i feel very strongly about the question will be in there is there any middle ground to work together? the white house is optimistic on climate change i am not so much. so the fight of president xi is saying don't look at our human rights violations, don't talk about if you want to talk to me about any kind of relationship with the u.s. that's a little bit of a restraint i think, what you think? >> that is exactly right, arthel. he wants us to not talk with the
1:10 pm
bad things they are doing to muslim uighurs, and hong kong, the thoughts are making in taiwan. and at the same time he wants us to buy good firms them, sell them advanced capabilities, sell them till that's unlikely to happen is in the prussian president biden from congress on the human rights issues. he's going to continue to face those pressures here at home for sunday hard to make any deal with president xi at this meeting. arthel: 's would be something to watch. we'll have you back to talk about it again and again and again, always good to see a thank you. >> thanks arthel. eric: back your dome democrats oh maintain control u.s. senate and the next congress. that is senator catherine cortez masters victory against republican challenger adam laxalt projected last night. the party of 50 seats it seems it needs to hold the majority in the senate. chief correspondent jonathan hunt's live in las vegas with the very latest on that tight race, hi jonathan. >> hey eric good afternoon to
1:11 pm
you from las vegas. senator catherine cortez mastro was out early this sunday morning supporters of the headquarters of one of the powerful nevada unions which he did so much to push her to victory here. she gave credit to those unions but also to every voter who she said rejected extremism, listen here. >> nevadans rejected the far right politicians working to divide us. we rejected their conspiracies, their attacks on our workers, and their efforts to restrict your freedoms. >> senator cortez mastro republican opponent adam laxalt was ahead in early counting on election night. it was gradually whittled away as more folks were counting democrat heavy clark county, home to las vegas and three quarters of nevada's population. in clark county officials dropped their fine valid numbers on saturday night, senator
1:12 pm
cortez meso surge into an unsalable lead. in 2020 republicans led by adam laxalt alleged widespread voting and counting fraud in nevada in the presidential election. no evidence of which was ever found. and they has as of yet been no such claims from laxalt's team this time around. so senator catherine cortez mastro now becomes a two term senator and will perhaps forever be known as the woman who cinched control of the u.s. senate in the wake of the 2022 midterms. support jonathan hunt in las vegas thank you. arthel: eric and jonathan despite the senate been confirmed all eyes are still on the georgia senate runoff which will determine if the chamber will be split 50/50 or if the democrats will hold a one seat majority. democratic senator raphael warnock and former nfl player herschel walker are back on the campaign trail today.
1:13 pm
charles watson is too he is live in the land with more, hi charles. >> hey good afternoon arthel. this could be the event behind me but saw appearances for both income it democratic senator raphael warnock and multi- reporting platinum artist rapper little baby. it is been a busy weekend here in the peach state with both warnock and walker back out on the campaign trail trying to boost enthusiasm amongst the respective bases. which their campaigns will help you translate to votes in the runoff in about 23 days. terms of messaging we have seen that, that is very important for these two campaigns. both walker and warnock have really tried to tailor their message is enough there is a clear distinction between them to pray that is what we've been hearing for walker in interviews and it stops around the state he's trying to make the case warnock is a rubber stamp for
1:14 pm
president biden and responsible is partially for a lot of the issues we are facing nationally. including things like inflation and rising crime. moments ago we heard from warnock after leaving the stage with rapper little baby. he told supporters walkers not only intellectually disqualified to serve but also morally, take a listen to what these had to say. >> groceries are up, two years ago it was left. porter's''s unsecure two years ago it was secure now it's not only because of him for. >> people of georgia need a champion. a champion for working people. that is the work i've done my entire life is to the work i've been doing in the senate for its work i'm actually able to do print herschel walker's not. he is not able to do this work. he's demonstrated he does not the competence nor the char character.
1:15 pm
>> it is clear both democrats and republicans believe this race will likely come down to has the best ground game. the campaign committee, just poured $7 million into this race to help support the ground game for the warnock campaign. republicans also believe they have a pretty impressive ground presence in their investing millions of dollars into the get out to vote infrastructure that helped catapult georgia governor brian kemp to victory in his reelection bid. >> we sent people all over the country reinvested on the gr ground. johnson we put $90 million on the ground. >> is still got to win georgia not one sick anything off the table but my job is to do everything i can to help herschel with. i'm going to be there for you today helping herschel. >> arthel, there's a lot of talk, a lot of money being poured into georgia for this race is expected to be a
1:16 pm
dogfight all the way to the end. but you're going be really busy charles watson, erica. sweetheart meanwhile a confession across the country fighting to stop the spread of election disinformation. or how the secretary of state they are set up a team to fact check in real time any false claims, will join us next or discuss the damage that election deniers can do to the election process. i brought in ensure max protein with 30 grams of protein. those who tried me felt more energy in just two weeks. uhhhh... here, i'll take that. arthel: the race for governor in arizona it remains too close to call. election officials defend their vote counting efforts with over 260,000 ballots still left to be calibrated senior correspondent is live in phoenix with the very latest, hi alicia. >> the last big chunk we got from maricopa county which is really making the difference here. those came out in public and carry leak. she is still trailing democrat katie hobbs by more than 30,000 votes. she and her team insist the additional vote count coming tonight and in the days to come are really going to turn the tide. it's about more than 260,000 in maricopa county it's more than
1:21 pm
194,000 which is why in the senate race or public and blake masters is not conceited give the projected wind of incumbent mark kelly. masters says he is going to wait until all of those votes are counted. they maricopa county election officials estimate the last week really defend the rate at which they are reporting results they have explained it is the law that allows for voters to drop the early ballots off before election day for this year it was a record number. even so the chair of the county board of supervisors says they are on track to finish in or around the same amount of time as the recent past elections. but they've been forced to spend extra time combating what they call misinformation. i'm not making a political statement here but sadly there continues to be a lot of misinformation from all different sources for their out on social media right now as we go forward in this count. so that is why we have to continue to do this. this is not something i relish. but it is something that we
1:22 pm
believe is very important to do and will continue to do it. >> a group gathered outside the maricopa county elections office yesterday for the sheriff saying the supposed resources from the other places the department would otherwise note arrests have been issued for arthel not to focus on this for a second period we are still curing comparisons to the state of florida. that is a fundamental misunderstanding of the laws here. in florida they had people drop off their early ballots on sunday. that cut that off. the state of arizona it's up until 7:00 p.m. on election day. that explains the backlog for it folks you don't like it, the lot needs to change, arthel. steve i thank you very much for clarifying that alicia acuna in phoenix, thank you. ask my question do you think this happening near maricopa county is normal?
1:23 pm
>> this is incompetency. i hope it's not malice. >> i am going to stand for my stage. maybe not everyone here is but i am. we are doing things the right way. and i appreciate that you are all here. but we are not doing anything wrong at all. and someone from here would suggest that we are doing something wrong, that is frustrating for. >> are probably a gubernatorial candidate kerri lakin of course maricopa county arizona commissioner bill gates responding, pushing back on the laws and disinformation spring spread in arizona about that state selection process. strong defensive election workers is a sample of how election officials are addressing election deniers and those who are seen as making up false claims about the process because their candidate may have lost or is losing for it one election started a rapid response team to counter falsehoods as the republican secretary of state of ohio frank larose and he joins us now here on fox news. mr. secretary of state welcome and congratulations on your
1:24 pm
reelection. ask thank you eric. >> of course but first were there any significant problems that affected the vote and the results in ohio during the election process in your state? >> you know, nothing we would not have anticipated and works through pre-listen, the scope of the operation of election day involves close to 40000 election day poll workers, staffing close to 3500 polling locations. there are always logistical things that happen here or there and we always work through th those. things are quite smoothly in the buckeye state we had our election night results reported on election night. matt is something ohioans ex expect. eric: that is terrific for to make it clear that the machines in ohio were not connected to the internet. at even if something goes down you have redundant processes like the actual paper trail of a vote that can be hand counted? >> that is correct. not only can it be but we require that. i have directed the boards of directions to have a postelection audit that will
1:25 pm
happen about three weeks from now for that's when they count the hard copy paper and reconcile that to the electronic result make sure the two match up or we have routinely had accuracy rate above 99.9% will be due that postelection audit. you are right to say voting machines are never connected to the internet. that's not the final work the papers always there to make sure. eric: you can double check that of course. meanwhile a lot of different claims out there. what did you do? you started a five person team of five officials to really be rapid response in real time to what you see on social media? >> sure. not just on election day but in the period leading up to that. we've got members of our team that monitor social media. but also monitor traditional media in spot for when there's false information getting sh shared. and then combated because the best antidote to false information is truth and lots of it. had some great success stories getting people to be able to stop sharing this false information by very clearly showing i was just not
1:26 pm
trustworthy. super interesting point somebody puts up something that is not true. and then it spreads like wildfire on social media and that can be hard to come back for you. >> except for when you have the facts on your side produce a great anecdote from this most recent election debris there was an individual who claimed he was a county election official when he was burning up ballots. we were able to quickly ascertain a, this person was not a county elections official and the photo that he claimed was him burning ballots turned out to not even be from this year or from the state of ohio. we were able to simply do a reverse image look up and again, thankfully we were out able to put that out there make it clear it's false information britain to make sure it doesn't spread. this person a prankster or whatever else that's the kind of thing. we do not take lightly we do not think it's funny. eric: we should have the right now let's put up if you have it. goes up and said breaking poll
1:27 pm
worker from cincinnati, ohio suspected to have tampered with up to 4300 ballots for early voting set picture of somebody on the right under the not true in the truth got his truck burning and claims of ballots are in his truck. we are burning up being destroyed you guys put up not true warning do not fall for this satirical and very un- funny to eat the integrity of our election should be above child destroyed when like this for that's an example of what you did try to put stop to it. >> sure, it also happens in traditional media. there's a tv station in cleveland that simply did not the facts correct, claimed last-minute changes were made the cuyahoga county board of elections acted quickly, worked with that journalist to thankfully revise their store because again spreading that kind of fear just hours before the election to say there was a last-minute change in polling locations is just not something we are going to let slip by.
1:28 pm
so if i'm glad you got that change great personal you know how hard the election workers work. they are nonpartisan, it is unbelievable what these folks can do, do you take this disinformation of false claims personally? what does it do and does it make you more resolve to fight them? >> absolutely. the men and women who work in elections are dedicated patriots but half of them republicans have democrats at least that so it works in ohio. in my heart goes out to those who are struggling right now to get the results finalized in. it's not that the people out there are lacking professionalism or whatever they need to change their laws in states like that to be more like ohio's so they do not have to deal with that p but the men and women involved actually run elections deserve our gratitude they work very hard for us. eric: great point of finish on that 80% of ballots in miracle county came in on one day on election day. some states like pennsylvania they go for a few days because under state law they cannot even
1:29 pm
count any mail in ballots until 7:00 a.m. on election day will other states can have it alr already. there may be some laws do have to change besought the people it's the restrictions in some cases that are on the ohio separatist state frank leroux's thank you and thank you for what you do and thank you for joining us. rest up for the next one. >> thanks eric. >> of course, arthel. arthel: looks like control of congress will be split next year. so what does a divided congress mean for working and middle-class americans? that is coming up my most important kitchen tool? my brain. so i choose neuriva plus. unlike some others, neuriva plus is a multitasker supporting 6 key indicators of brain health. to help keep me sharp. neuriva: think bigger. it■s hard eating healthy. unless you happen to be a dog.

as someone living with type 2 diabetes, i want to keep it real and talk about some risks. with type 2 diabetes you have up to 4 times greater risk of stroke, heart attack, or death. even at your a1c goal, you're still at risk ...which if ignored could bring you here... ...may put you in one of those... ...or even worse. too much? that's the point. get real about your risks and do something about it. talk to your health care provider about ways to lower your risk of stroke, heart attack, or death. learn more at getrealaboutdiabetes.com arthel: an updated devastating crash of dow's air show yesterday. police at least six people are dead after two world war ii airplanes collided in midair. nay boy is live with the very latest on this. >> there holding a press conference right now talking about this horrific scene from yesterday that thousands of people witnessed. they say they are in the
1:34 pm
beginning of a very long process in terms of their investigation. i want to show you the moment these two planes collided. more and all of our viewers assist very difficult to watch. you see it right here a single pilot p63 king cobra caches into a b-17 bomber for the see the planes break apart in the b-17 explodes into a fireball when it hits the ground. we are learning just now in the past 20 minutes it's now confer five people were on board the b-17. one person the smaller plane of the single pilot on the p63. now the air show is meant to showcase these historic and military planes. course the b-17 was crucial for the united states in world war ii. feet 63's were flown more by the soviets. but videos like what you are seeing right here are going to be crucial for the ntsb. please planes not have black boxes which often unlock a lot of information about how these four things happen, listen to this.
1:35 pm
>> unfortunately, mentor of the general aviation accidents we see out there there is no flight data recorder, steve got lots of time there's no video. so it's very difficult for us to determine the probable cause. plexus process is going to take a while for it so far we know two of the six victims. both of them were members of the b-17 crew as you see the fire paul is the b-17 bomber crashed to the ground here. the president of the commemorative air force who put on the airshow says the pilots involved are mostly retired military or airline pilots, listen to this. >> the people that are flying to the airshows are volunteers for there's a very strict process of training and hours. all of the pilots are vetted very carefully many have been flying for us for 20, 30 years or longer. >> again, arthel we are expecting a preliminary report from the ntsb and the next
1:36 pm
four -- six weeks. the full investigation is expected to take between 12 and 18 months. will send it back to you. arthel: so tragic though six people did not make it home yesterday. oh boy, nay voigt thanks for the report, eric. >> los angeles the mayor's race they are too close to call. the latest vote total shows democratic congresswoman karen bass holding a slight lead over billionaire rick caruso purrs a former republican and change his registration to democrat nearly 40% of belts and the city still have not been counted. christina coleman in the los angeles with the latest on that race. >> hi eric. more than $100 million has been spent on this close mayor's race make it the most expensive mayor's race in l.a. history for the overwhelming majority of this money comes from caruso's own bank account for the billing at real estate developer is trailing his challenger democrat veteran congresswoman karen bass by less than two percentage
1:37 pm
points. caruso recently tweeted as predicted this is a close race. there are hundreds of thousands of votes to count and as expected we're going to see different results each time. i continue to be cautiously optimistic for this mayors race has gained national attention as caruso a republican turned democrat tries to win over the deep blue city. he is talk about tackling crime paired this is been a top issue for both candidates. caruso is promising to expand lapd gang unit, at 1500 new officers on the street and address la's homelessness cr crisis. >> i see a more compassionate los angeles where we moved tens of thousands of people off the streets and into housing and treatments. i see a safer los angeles where our kids actually walk to sc school. >> and bass, longtime democrats promising to improve training for officers into bolster lapd homicide units also some democrat heavy hitters have been
1:38 pm
campaigning for bass encoding vice president kamala harris. she told voters last week that bass is a fighter. >> karen bass has a long history of always being on the side of the people. fighting for the people, fighting for the peoples whose voices are not in the room but must be present. that is who karen bass has always been. it is who she will always be and that is why she will be the next mayor of los angeles. >> here in california every registered voter gets a mail in bout they can postmarked on or before election day and received until november 15. it could be a little while longer before we know who won this very close race, eric. so for another wait, christina thank you. arthel: president biden will likely face a split congress for the second half of his first term. control of the house is still too close to call. got 20 seats still left in play. gop has the edge right now
1:39 pm
democrats will keep control of the senate by the weight with at least 50 seats. that means both chambers will need to work together to pass key legislation. heritage foundation visiting fellow andy putz at rates quote energy is about the jobs and anti- inflation issue with substantial national security overtones. given tuesday night election results in the genuine crisis facing our nation there are likely senate democrats who would support measures in both areas. that is the kind of bipartisanship americans have been hoping for. so former u.s. international trade commissioner peter marise he joins us now is also an economist and business professor at the university of maryland. so peter, you've got a taste of andy's thoughts. what do you think congress' appetite will be for the eco economy? and how much who will control the house matter? >> who controls the house matters completely.
1:40 pm
because without the house mr. biden cannot push through further new programs and initiatives. he is basically it will be playing defense. with its energy policy, entitlements or what have you. the one critical area he won't so he has a lot of leverage is a good number of the trump tax cuts expire in 2025. it will be up to this congress to extend those for the next congress comes in in january open on the dime to do some something. almost instantaneously. but i expect there to be a lot of wrangling over the budget, over the debt ceiling and so forth. but the republicans will have a very narrow margin i'm thinking 222 republicans are 213 democrats. so they are not going to have a lot of room to maneuver. arthel: explained to me by the expiration of former president trump's tax cuts is going to play well for president biden? >> well, because they expire if nothing happens. if there is no new law.
1:41 pm
so they have to pass a bill that he is willing to sign that senate democrats are willing to accept. and let's remember house republicans do not have quite the same track record as house democrats at sticking together, being cohesive whoever's the speaker inside his caucus with chuck schumer and then democrats and the other chamber part and with the president. his situation like that it gets pretty hard to get what she wants. as a question about who will be the speaker the republicans gain control of the house. working-class and middle-class americans are watching. they've been hoping for bipartisanship. and beneficial policies to them. which party has to do more in it
1:42 pm
which areas? >> the most significant thing they can do is the energy pulse if mr. biden will cooperate. we have over constrained the production and refining of oil and petroleum products in the united states. in blue because electric vehicles heat pumps cannot be billed out fast enough. it's very difficult getting out of has to be more realism. looking for under republican leadership's on the interior department and the energy department on these issues. through executive orders. arthel: that is true standard energy versus the newer energy the electric energy et cetera, solar energy for that right there is a political hot button. i cannot see compromise they
1:43 pm
are. >> i don't know that is impossible. the permitting of pipelines and the permitting of mention had a lot of good ideas that could garner 60 votes in the senate enough republicans go along that's the point especially on the bickering already dealt both the dems. if you caved to the death of the spirit to set about caving to the republicans it's about serving the people you were elected to serve. >> now they're going to the position of being responsible. but they cannot legislation that the senate compromises on the has a bipartisan focus those
1:44 pm
guys bought me a business in 2025 per than joe biden will get reelected because he will be able to blend the mess on them. they will lose the house and they need to focus on that. arthel: will be watching, everybody is watching this midterm in the way it turned out is making a lot of people go wait a minute we have to rethink what were doing here. alright mr. professor peter received thank you very much. >> happy send it too. >> 's dr. appropriate to i do now to shortchange you. >> have all that stuff but just call me peter. [laughter] see if i'm okay peter thank you. >> take care of. eric: how about pd? >> no. [laughter] i got my flag on because it is veterans day weekend and the u.s. is not the only nation marking that, great britain honors those who make the ultimate sacrifice in a solemn memorial led by their new monarch, king charles first i will have more on how they are marking this day.
