>> carley: three people are dead and two others hurt after a shooting on the university of virginia campus late last night. police are still searching for the suspect, who the university identifies as a student. they believe he is armed and dangerous. the suspect is former university of virginia football player and last on the team in 2018, but didn't play any games. school officials canceling class. the president is saying this is a message any leader hopes to never send and i'm devastated this has visited the university of virginia, this is traumatic for everyone in our community. police are searching for the suspect accused of shooting and killing a 13-year-old boy who

the front yard, him and his dad were raking leaves and it started to get late around closer to dinner time and went in the house to start dinner and jaze was let for a few minutes to finish one section. five minutes or so after in the house, he heard the gunshots, and then he came out and he saw jaze laying on the lawn a few feet away from where he left him. >> ashley: antoin, i want your response, you were with him, what do you say? >> yeah, what my wife is saying is pretty much how it was. we were outside, i was blowing the leaves and he was raking

them up, putting them in the bags and then i decided it was time for me to get dinner started. i went in the house, i looked back through our bay window and i saw jaze continuing to rake and when i turned my back, that is when we heard the gunshots and i ran outside and found him laying on the ground, not able to respond. >> ashley: juanita, you said this doesn't hit home until it upon has, how are you coping, what is going through your mind right now? >> it is painful, it is very painful and we feel empty. we are -- we are. there is that void that we feel.

he just said we are following behind china. and china's nuclear threat is near term problem. couple that what you said if and when china invades taiwan are we ready? how should would he be preparing right now for these really scary possible event actualities? >> well, first things first. we need to get our supply chains out and if we can't get them to the united states, then how about we get them to the western hemisphere or at least to an allied nation that's not going to use them as leverage. imagine that chinese communist party choking off all of our antibiotics because we don't agree with them or all of the lithium in the green new deal. those things are very real. they could happen. and, meanwhile, their navy is larger than ours. their space force is larger than ours. we need to get those supply chains out and have a reagan style military buildup to be able to compete so that every time xi thinks about making a big move. he says, you know what? this isn't going to work for me.
