telling students to shelter in play as they search for the shop they warn is still armed and dangerous. multiple agencies are involved. this does include state police helicopters. this is the man they are looking for this. is christopher darnell jones jr. the university officials say is he a student and a former football player and was on a team in 2018 as a freshman. police believe jones is wearing a burned jacket blue jeans and travelings in a van with university plates. this is a message any leader hopes to never have to extend send and i'm devastated that this valence has visited the university of virginia. >>this is a traumatic incident for everyone in our community. class is canceled and grief counselors are being made available. the names of the victims have not yet been released. we'll be looking out for all of that. back to you guys. >> steve: ashley, apparently they have released information that the shooter was a student

>> steve, this looks like a bad flu season already. it's an early one. we don't usually see a peak until january. here's what's happening. i think the last couple of years when people had their masks on or were home, they didn't -- weren't exposed to viruses they usually see like the flu. we had very mild flu season so we didn't get the immunity we usually do. and now along comes a strain from the south from australia that's actually pretty severe and people, again, that weren't exposed to it before are getting pretty sick from it. also, flu vaccine is down 5% this year. not as many getting the flu shot as should and this flu shot looks like it's pretty good coverage. so all of that combined with a lot of rsv infections and still plenty of covid out there, you are seeing a lot of upper respiratory infections especially in our kids which concerns us the most. >> steve: dr. siegel, i was just talking to our family doctor. i told him i was about to do this segment and to your point fewer people are getting the flu
