12 still out there. really it is republicans themselves will get into a room and elect their leadership team, only difference is the speaker has to go to the floor of the house on january 3rd and elected by republicans and democrats, actually because the speaker truly is the speaker of the house, not the speaker of the republican party. >> carley: interesting part of this whole thing, leadership elections are starting before all returns are in, how do you do that? some members of congress won't get a vote. >> unless they are bringing in maybe members, if they are going to be members, they are not going to be members. always in leadership interest to have the election thchl is concern by many members saying why are we rushing it, we have time. what kevin mccarthy and other leadership teams are saying, we have a lot to do.

>> carley: things get interesting, there is some opposition in the republican party to both kevin mccarthy and mainly mcconnell, is that legitimate threat to their leadership position? if not them, who? >> probably not as much to mcconnell, that is done with majority only vote and tom cotton said nobody stepped up to run against mcconnell. say they have 219 seat majority, january 3, go to the floor, need 218 to become speaker and i was there for four or five years and we had five, or six or more vote against the nominee for republican speaker. kevin could only lose two people and not become -- >> carley: what would happen if he lost those two? >> this will never happen, they will know. if only two or three holding

out, there will be massive amount of pressure on people to not do that. it is mass interruption. >> carley: all said and done, you think kevin mccarthy, mcconnell, chuck schumer and nancy pelosi? nancy pelosi is a question mark. >>yia, that is interesting toy moo, every indicator before this election, nancy pelosi would step aside, that is where that may end up, if not democrat side is gone. >> carley: your home state of georgia, there is a major runoff race there. news to you, not really and herschel walker raised 11 million since kicking off the runoff campaign against raphael warnock and has an ad out. things are kicking up, some say because democrats control the senate with deciding vote with vice president kamala harris, this election matters less, is that true? >> it does not, it moerts
