first movement. this is a huge speech for him. he has to cast a vision for the future and talk about why his leadership is needed in america more today and contrast to joe biden. the republican party he wants to lead again. we will hear him make that case. >> sean: he is laying down a marker. he is in. whether other people get in or not, pete, it's anybody's guess. i think other people will go up against him in the primary. he is going to the podium -- well, maybe not. walking past the podium. one thing that nobody seems to understand when you look at anybody running for president, we don't know what it will be like in 2024. mike huckabee, in the economy

of whom find us detestable. our southern border has been erased and our country is being invaded by millions of unknown people. many of whom entering for a bad and sinister reason. you know what that reason is. we will be paying a big price for this invasion into our country for years to come. hundreds of thousands of pounds of deadly drugs including very lethal fentanyl are flooding across the now open and porous southern border. the blood soaked streets of once great cities are cesspools of violent crimes. which are being watched all over the world. this is what america and democracy is all. how sad. the united states has been embarrassed, humiliated and weakeneded for all to see. the disasters in afghanistan,

poland. 50 miles into poland. people are going absolutely wild and crazy. they are not happy. they are very, very angry. now we have a president who falls asleep at global conferences. >> [laughing]. >> was held in contempt by the pressure parliament over afghanistan. thanks to the words of wisdom, he said thank you to the wrong country for inviting him to a major summit on the environment of all things. fly for days to get there and he calls the country a name that was actually a country on another continent. >> [laughing]. >> he is leading us to the brink of nuclear war. a concept unimaginable 2 short years ago.

you can't mention the nuclear word. it's too devastating. the green new deal and the environment is all that is talked about and yet nuclear weapons which would destroy the world immediately are never discussed as a major threat. can you imagine? they say the ocean will rise 1/8th of an inch over the next 300 years, but don't worry about nuclear weapons that can take out entire countries with one shot. something is wrong with their thinking under biden and the radical democrats america has been mocked, derided and brought to its knees perhaps like never before. we are here tonight to declare it doesn't have to be this way. it doesn't have to be this way. >> [cheers and applause]. >> two years ago we were a great

just a short time ago the republicans won back control of the house of representatives. >> [cheers and applause]. >> it was with a great trump endorsed candidate congressman-elect kevin kiley. a fantastic person. i am happy it was his vote that did it. we won back -- this happened just an hour ago. much criticism is being placed on the fact that the republican party should have done better. frankly, much of this blame is correct. but the citizens of our country haven't realized the full gravity of the pain our nation is going through and the total effect of the suffering is just starting to take hold. they don't quite feel it yet. but they will very soon.

i have no doubt that by 2024, it will sadly be much worse. they will see more clearly what happened and what is happening to our country and the voting will be much different. 2024. >> [cheers and applause]. >> are you getting ready? >> [cheers and applause]. >> i am too. i am too! i do want to point out that in the mid-terms my endorsements success rate was 232 wins and only 22 losses. you don't hear that from the media. this is an elegant night at an elegant place. i am not going to use the term

fake news media. >> [laughing]. >> we will keep it very elegant. you don't hear that from the media. i think you will because people are starting to see what happened. that's some score. in the primaries 98.6% but they were still trying to blame me. the reason for the success and that unprecedented success rate the trump administration changed our nation on trade, on securing the border, the strongest and safest border and on islamic terrorism. we had no islamic attacks, terrorists during the trump administration. in fact, we got along very well with the various countries. including coming up with the

abraham accords. >> [cheers and applause]. >> it's because of cutting taxes and cutting regulations at the highest level ever and on building the greatest economy. any time in the history of the world from has never been an economy like we had just two years ago. despite the outcome in the senate we can't loose hope. we must all work very hard for a gentleman and a great person named herschel walker. a fabulous human being who loves our country and will be a great united states senate. get out and vote for herschel walker. he was an incredible athlete. he will be an even better senator. vote for herschel walker. we elected a group of america first leaders who will be stars of our party for many years to

come. and the popular vote not discussed for the house, republicans won 5 million more votes, the largest margin in many, many years over the democrats. 5 million more votes. that's a big thing. breaking the radical democrat's grip on congress was crucial. in other words, because of our great congressman and all of our great congress women, we have taken over congress. nancy pelosi has been fired. isn't that nice? >> [cheers and applause]. >> i told them, if you just keep a little bit lower standard you will have a big victory. they said let's win by 40 seats or 50. if you win by 2 seats be happy. she is on her way to another

country. she's been fired. we always have known this was not the end. it was only the beginning of our fight to rescue the american dream. it's 2 words you don't use. i don't want to be joe. american dream. that was not good what he did -- a lot of bad things like going to idaho and saying welcome to the state of florida, i really love it. in order to make america great and glorious i am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the united states. >> [cheers and applause]. >> [cheering].

people across the country black-and-white and hispanic and asian. many of whom we have brought together for the first time. when you look at the numbers and what happened with hispanic and african-american and asian, this is a party that has become much bigger and much stronger. much more powerful. can do much more good for our country. this is a job for grandmothers and construction workers and firefighters and doctors and farmers who can't stay quiet any longer. you can't stay quiet any longer. you are angry. our country is being destroyed before your very eyes. it's a job for every young person and hard working parent and every entrepreneur and every under-appreciated police

they would never speak to me and i would never speak to them. but our success was so incredible. like never before and then covid came in from china. we call it the china virus. some people call it other things, but it was devastating. we built it back and did an incredible job. when people say republicans or democrats or liberals or conservatives, i say we can all get together. we were doing that. that was happening just prior. the success was greater than had country has ever had. we were leapfrogging china and everybody else and everybody wanted a piece of it. just as i promised in 2016, i am your voice. >> [cheers and applause]. >> i am your voice. >> [cheers and applause]. >> the washington establishment

wants to silence us. we will not let them do that. what we have built together over the past 6 years is the greatest movement in history. it's not about politics. it's about our love for this great country america. we won't let it fail. i am running because i believe the world has not yet seen the true glory of what this nation can be. we have not reached that pinnacle. believe it or not. we can go very far. first we have to get out of this tich. -- ditch. once you are out you will see things that nobody imagined for any country. it's called the united states of america. it's an incredible place. >> [cheers and applause]. >> we are americans. we do not have to endure what has taken place in washington, d.c. this is our country.

right now. we go to them begging for oil and we have more liquid gold under our feet than they have or any other nation has and we don't use it because we are going to them. it's crazy what is happening. we can't let it condition. joe biden is the face of left wing failure and washington corruption. he had a big g20 dinner. everybody flew over. he never showed up. they are still looking for him. what is going on. g20 i used to love the leaders. i made deals for our country like you would not believe. give me the next one. we got them to stop taking advantage of our country. every nation took advantage of our country. we renegotiated deals with mexico and canada and usmca. we got rid of the worst trade deal ever made nafta and that's why the farmers loved trump.

we restructed our terrible deal with japan. i did it with the prime minister. a great man. we made it a terrific deal. with south korea and so many other countries. the best of all was with china. we made an incredible deal. after covid i don't talk about it because the devastation that caused the entire world is too much to bear. i will ensure that joe biden does not receive 4 more years. >> [cheers and applause]. >> our country could not take that. i say that not in laughter. i say that in tears. our country could not take 4 more years. it can only take so much. it's all fragile to start off

with. it can only take so much. in 2020 i received the largest number of votes of any sitting president in history by a lot. we will do it again. but with even more votes this time. many have noted the huge gains we made with latino voters. i believe we will set greater records with this crucial vote in eighty-four. -- 2024. the hispanic voter, the latino voter unbelievable. great people and they want security. i built the wall and they thought that would hurt me with the hispanic vote. no, it helped me. they understood. they wanted safety and security. they understood the border better than anybody else. we started that trend and we are continuing with that trend. what we have done in florida and what everybody is doing in florida and texas.

along the border in texas. i won every single community. the governor of texas called. a great gentleman. just got reelected. he said i would like to talk to you for a second. you have done something that nobody else has done. you won every single area along the border, the longest since reconstruction. i said reconstruction. you call that the civil war? that's what i call it. governor abbott a very good man and working hard. but it's horrible. they are just sending hundreds of thousands of people right through his state and right through arizona and right through all of the states. they are coming up in all of the states. we can't have it anymore. this campaign will be about issues, vision and success. we won't stop. we won't quit until we achieve the highest goals and made our country greater than ever

before. we can do that. >> [cheers and applause]. >> our victory will built on big ideas and bold ambitions and daring dreams for america's future. it's not enough to complain or oppose. we don't want to be critics. we don't want to be complainers. i never wanted to be a critic. i never respected critics. they tell people what zoning but they can't do it themselves. we will win because we will fight with every measure of our strength and with every ounce of our energy to lift up the working men and women of america and restore the respect of this nation. our approach is the opposite of the radical left. based on freedom, values, individual responsibility and just plain common sense. it's common sense. >> [cheers and applause].

we had it at 1% for a long period of time. we had the value of the there. this country could make a lot of money. i fought other countries where they devalued their currency. i would fight like cats and dogs with the leaders of the other countries. they were stealing from us. they had artificial devaluation of their currency. i have not heard it mentioned in 2 years. it's hard to compete when they do that artificially. they had to pay a big pride whether they did it. i said we won't do business with you anymore. i can't imagine saying lets put

along. now we are losing. they are moving back into china and these other countries. it's horrible. that means low taxes. low regulations and fair trade. much of which i have already completed. now will greatly enhance. other countries should pay for the privilege of come into american marketplace. they have to pay to come into our country and make money and take it away frus. thanks to the trump administration the biggest and best country in the world is what we have. china was going to take over from us as the largest country in the world in 2018 or 2019. i don't like that timing. i talked to president xi.

he is now president for life. i called him king. he said i am not the king. you are president for life. that's the same thing. i said you can't do this thing. china was going to take over the world economy by 25. they took it down. it will probably come back in the near future. i found it very insulting. we will end joe biden's war on american energy. >> [cheers and applause]. >> you will see when that happens energy costs come down and because energy is so big and so important, youingly see inflation dropping and dropping. you will see it come down. it's a thing of beauty. will se inflation dropping and dropping. you will see it come down. it's a thing of beauty. what is complicated is this

watching with us. he went through the failure with the biden administration and how this country changed in the last 2 years. i got an early copy of the text just now. i am looking at it. we will go back in a minute with his important close. your thoughts so far? >> well, sean, nothing like the original. he went back to the themes that put him in the white house from fair trade to borders to ending foreign wars and saying we the people have been ignored by washington, d.c. it's a forward looking speech that recognizes the disaster of the last 2 years. he said as president, i delivered for you where other presidents have not. this looks likes trump in as good of form as you have ever seen him. sticking to the issues that matter to his voters and making

the case to the republican primary voters he is the guy to be the standard bearer. there will be others who leveraged their association with trump to get where they are. if he stays on message the way he does tonight, he has a formidable case to make to the republicans electorate. >> governor huckabee, we declare it doesn't have to be this way. america's come back starts right now. i kept my promises. we are a nation in decline. americans are suffering pain, hardship, anxiety and despair. america has now become mocked, derided and brought to its knees. could you have imagined all of this happening in 2 short years?

i could not. >> sean, the construct of the speech is pitch perfect. if he keeps on like this tonight he is unbeatable in 2024. nobody can touch him. not a republican. not a democrat. he stayed on message. one key thing: this is not my am campaign. this is our campaign. he reminded the american people the reason they voted for him once and twice is because he was fighting for us. he said this is not about critics and complainers. he is looking forward. this was a brilliant speech. the best in a long time. if he stays on this message, i agree with pete, he keeps it between the ditches and this focus, he is unbeatable. >> sean: i think you might be able to make the case, pete, he

talked about inflation and secured borders and his defeat of the caliphate and energy independence and how peace through strength worked and how he kept his promises. then he compared it to higher gas prices and record high inflation. surrendering energy independence and our southern border invasion and the fentanyl and opioid and the failure in afghanistan and in ukraine. many people over the years, pete, said the policies are perfect. does he have to fight that much? send out these tweets? i am sure you have gotten the same questions too. if you were lied about for 3 years about russia you might be defensive also. >> he had to fight to get on the

debate stage on the republican side. to be the nominee. then he was lied about. he had to be a fighter. he is the preeminent fighter for america first for our generation. no question about it. once he got there. he delivered on what any american first supporter wanted. he said he would do it. across the board he was committed. took the slings and arrows. they are coming out tonight. the headlines are pre-i have been. he took the arrows and delivered. if he reminds voters of that, stays disciplined and makes it about us and about we the people. they are coming after you. i am just standing in the way.

to the president. >> isn't it remarkable, sean and jim, on the same night president trump announces for president the republicans secure the majority in the house of representatives. president trump took a severe pounding over the last 7 years. i have never seen anything like it. it's a miracle the man is still standing. he has taken a pounding over the last week or so after the mid-terms. this man always put the forgotten man and woman first. when he said that line about this is not my campaign, this is our campaign all together. it reminded back in 2016 when clinton had a slogan that said i am with her. trump said i am with you. that kind of fighting spirit for the american people and it's not just a campaign programs anymore. -- promise anymore. he has a long track record of delivering for the forgotten man

elections are about the future. >> the tone was the right one. it felt more like a state of the union address and less like a rally speech. donald trump stuck to the issues. all of the crises in this country and it was discipline. he was positive in terms of his vision. took a couple of shots at joe biden but it was benign in trump terms. it reminded those watching of his accomplishments as president. he outlined the contrast with the biden administration and crime and the border and foreign policy. it was what he did not say. no talk about stolen elections in 2020. he didn't attack or insult opponents in the republican primary. that's smart. this felt more like an address to the joint session of congress. it sounded presidential. i think it surprised more than a few folks that he went about it this way. if he sticks to the issues, it's
