cost, they did -- they crunched the numbers, it's a 20% higher this year than last year. it's interesting. i have been listening to people who have been talking about how they are going to try to streamline things. some people are going to not do as many side dishes because they take a lot of time and they cost a lot of money. a lot of people are not going to have as many prebig meal snacks. and i have got a tip. do you know what the legendary cook, home chef, julia childs, do you know what she would serve as the prethanksgiving snack to her many guests? little gold fish crackers. >> ainsley: really? >> steve: that was all she did. she were also drinking martinis. >> ainsley: those are really good i eat my daughter's quite often. >> steve: have enough martinis hey who loves anything else i love these little crackers. >> brian: take a look how much everything costs. butter is up 26%. vegetables 18. the turkey itself almost 17. vegetables are 16.7.

potatoes 15%. and biscuits and rolls. there is a chance. ainsley, you have embraced this idea of a cover charge for your family. >> ainsley: right. >> brian: how are you doing? great to see you aunt sally, 28. dessert 29. >> ainsley: we each bring items my mom and my aunt do the majority of it because my grandmother used to split it with her. but then my sister will make something, i will make something. my brother will buy something and bring it. and so we all just bring different things and that i that way we share the costs. and less stress. >> brian: what about hungry man dinner they all have deserts there. >> steve: have that throughout the year. one of the suggestions they make is buy frozen. whether it's vegetables or fruit or turkey frozen is generally cheaper. >> ainsley: less work and cheaper. >> brian: shoot your turkey in the frozen tundra of minnesota and dead frozen. >> steve: another great piece of advice.

>> carley: we could keep talking about food but i have news to get. to say waukesha parade killer gets six consecutive life sentences plus over 1,000 years in prison. darrell brooks previously convicted of killing six people and injuring more than 60 others after driving his car through a christmas parade in wisconsin last november. dozens of relatives of those killed and injured attended the sentencing when the horrific attack unfolded, brooks was out on bail for a domestic violence charge. north korea firing yet another ballistic missile into the sea of japan overnight. the weapons test comes as the hermit kingdom promises to boost its military responses to new u.s. security commitments to the region. north korea has conducted a number of -- a record number of missile test this year. firing hundreds of artillery shells into the sea. the rogue regime saying washington is, quote: taking a gamble. it will regret.

>> that's not the evidence. >> steve: fox news contributor and u.s. marine vet joey jones joins us live from the patriot awards here in hollywood. good morning, guys. >> so what do you make of that? it looks like we were on the verge a couple days ago of world war iii if that missile was from russia, but now it looks like the ukrainians, according to our pentagon, shot it. >> you know what's interesting to me of the three actors saying something, poland, the u.s. and ukraine all saying what you would expect them to say. all saying what is most advantageous for them. ukraine says this is a russian missile. bring those nato forces in and go to war. of course the u.s. says no, that was not a russian missile and we shouldn't just bring those nato forces in and go to war. what do we do as the american people. see the exact same amount of skepticism. not over the legitimacy of ukraine fighting back but the information we are getting from our government about what's happening and there is nothing wrong with that it's true. it's very skeptical.
