three other tables in the room tried to buy drinks, and we said we'd had enough. how about dinner? that's already taken care of. dessert? how about breakfast tomorrow? the people here are so friendly, the restaurant was fantastic, and everybody is ready for tonight. >> ainsley: when we were walking through the lobby with our luggage, people had gotten tables around in that restaurant, in the lobby, so they just sat there and they watched as the fox personalities were walking through the lobby, which is really cool. they were taking pictures, they were so nice. we are surrounded by people who watch every single morning and we feel so much love. >> steve: we are part of your family, and your part of ours. >> brian: and power, talking about washington, some power has returned to the republicans. it seems as though yesterday afternoon was official. they got over the 218 threshold to be the majority leaders and house of representatives. 218-211. they could lengthen or split the difference. it would be impossible for the

democrats to catch up. the biggest question will be, nancy pelosi, now that she's out of power and has to give up the gavel, or have somebody else give it up because she didn't want to, today she is supposed to announce her future plans. some have speculated this is the perfect out for her. she can't say she is humiliated in a wave, she can say the numbers were against me, the party in power always loses, and nice glide out to retirement, maybe make room for people younger in the 70s. >> steve: she gave up the gavel anyway because the republicans took power yesterday when mike garcia for california's 27th district became the 218th republican. >> brian: but not until january does sheepishly give it up. >> ainsley: january 3rd. >> steve: she's going to keep it to january. >> ainsley: she could get up there and say, i represented my district for 35 years, i've been in leadership of the democratic party for 19 years. my husband was just attacked. this is a great time for us to

from south carolina, and a new crop of democrats, the new generation we've been talking about, you got to wonder, will aoc be part of the equation? >> ainsley: will she ever write any legislation? >> steve: she's very popular with certain elements of the party. >> brian: but maybe not enough. we'll find out. a lot of people are jealous of her social media presence, but she doesn't really do anything except walk around and talk to herself on her iphone. mitch mcconnell does survive, it looks like he is going to be the minority leader in the senate, so he got seven votes. overall, the balance of power, as you know, is 50-49. so mitch mcconnell did have some competition, but he said i have the votes, i've got the majority, i get to stay. let's see what he's going to do, is he going to look to cut deals? is he going to keep his power for two more years? because in two years the power is almost guaranteed to go back to the republicans, and then he would be the majority leader.
