>> you're looking live at a house in the small town of mass cow, idaho. that community stilling reeling from the horrific murder of four university of idaho students one week ago. police have not announced any official suspects or persons of interest in the case that has gripped the nation. welcome to fox news live, i'm griff jenkins. aishah: hi, griff. local police are getting help from the fbi and state police
9:01 am
in the search for more information and calling on the public, you, to report any tips. christina coleman is live in idaho with the latest on this gruesome crime, christina. >> oh, yes, it's horrific indeed. we've got new information hours ago from moscow police here to say the two young women at the food truck before they arrived at this house and were murdered. apparently they did not uber here, apparently they received a private ride to this house and that's critical information. go ahead and take a look af the surveillance video it shows madison mogen and katie near the food truck around 1:30 in the morning. and it's again, unclear who gave them the ride home. what could have been discussed during that ride and also unclear whether the driver of that ride has been interviewed by police. now, late yesterday moscow police also put out this map that pieces together a timeline of where the four college
9:02 am
students were hours before they were brutally murdered. katie and madison were in downtown moscow, they believe they went to a bar and stopped at the food truck. and ethan and zana were at a fraternity house across the street from the home they were murdered in. and now the coroner says the victims were likely asleep when they were attacked and friends of the victims, of course, are left shocked and deeply saddened. >> and all four of them truly touched countless students on campus, the lives of countless students. they're each, you know, social butterflies and they would always be saying hi to them out around campus or off campus and you know, the impacts have been felt across the entire community. >> and there's a lot of unanswered questions right now.
9:03 am
a lot of questions in this case and here is what we know. authorities believe this was a targeted attack. police say two other students were in the home at the time of this quadruple homicide. officers say those two students are cooperating with law enforcement. police say there was no forced entry into this three-story six-bedroom home. a murder weapon has not been recovered and authorities believe all victims were stabbed to death between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. last week early sunday morning. a 911 call was placed for an unconscious person at the home hours later just before noon and detectives have questioned local businesses to find out if a fixed blade knife had been purchased recently. former homicide d.c. detective williams, i met with him this morning and we talked about this, based on what we know about the brutal stabbing, this appears to be a crime of rage and he expects there to be a lot of physical evidence, a lot
9:04 am
of blood and the murderer in this case is at large. this is a tight knit community and a lot of people very shocked and saddened by this and of course, on edge because the killer in this case has not been caught. back to you. >> yeah, christina, it's unbelievable that we still don't know who the killer is, don't have a motive and so many unanswered questions all of these days later. thank you, christina coleman, live for us in moscow, idaho. griff: for more on the horrific murders and what we know so far, we're joined now by former new york state police, chief for forensic pathologist, dr. michael boden. thank you befor being here on a saturday. here we are a week later and yet so many questions. your initial thoughts on what's happening? >> well, there's a lot of confusion because of the changing releases of information from the very beginning in which first, it
9:05 am
was targeted. and then it was not targeted because the community at large had to be concerned. now it's targeted again and it's more targeted if everybody's asleep when the purpose perpetrator comes in and stabs them in their bed while asleep. if all four are up after they come back, it would suggest there are two perpetrators to control everybody who is awake. so this is a very big piece of additional information as to whether they're sleeping or not, but-- and that would have to be gathered by the positions of the body. they had changed their clothing, this he were in their night clothing, they were each in their own beds. the-- then one perpetrator could do this. this sounds more and more like a single targeted killing and only one person and really, the community at large is not
9:06 am
necessarily at risk. >> dr. baden, i want to know what we know from the autopsy report, the county coroner saying to a news cable channel, saying that the victims suffered multiple stab wounds from a quote, pretty large knife. what can we glean from that? >> well, if there were multiple stab wounds, especially on the hands to indicate defensive wounds, as was released at one point, that then it indicates that people were awake, they could yell out, they could scream, they would scream out. the other two persons who were in the house theoretically would have heard such screams if they were awake and fighting back, so, stab wounds in the back that are fatal could cause death without anybody getting up and out of bed and indicate
9:07 am
that there's a single stabber that goes from one to the other without anybody saying anything, but if there's multiple stab wounds in different parts of the body, that would indicate that there was a struggle and that the person was awake, then the issue of who did or didn't hear any of this struggle and the screaming that would come along with it becomes more importantly. griff: that's really quite-- i want to drill in for a second on that. i think you're raising an interesting point and pivotal question, how, if this is indeed one or multiple individuals and it's a crime of rage, how do you have two roommates that could sleep through four people possibly fighting back? i think that's really one of the really mysteries here. >> that's right. one of the problems here though
9:08 am
is if they're all asleep, then there could be a single targeted person, a perpetrator who was upset at one person, stabs that person, and then stabs the others so that they don't-- they can't identify him. especially if the others heard what was going on with the first stabbing, then the other victims become incidental victims because he then-- and i assume it's a male, he then wants to get rid of anybody who could identify him which would also indicate that it's maybe another person who's known to the-- all of the students, that is a strange might not care if he's seen or not because the individuals wouldn't know who he is, but it would indicate that the individual who is
9:09 am
known by all four people. griff: well, the killer or killers still remain at large and that's why this community is so on edge at this time. dr. michael baden, thank you for your insight and great analysis as always. >> thank you, griff. aishah: more details on the ftx records show that the former billionaire funneled money to the party, including nancy pelosi's potential successor. charles watson live for us with the details. >> hey, good afternoon, aishah. democrats are trying to distance themselves from disgraced ftx cryptocurrency exchange founder sam frankman fried who spent millions on donations to democrats during the 2022 midterm elections. according to open secrets, bankman fried made nearly 37 million campaign donations to democrats eclipsing the $240,000 he gave to republicans.
9:10 am
mog among those who benefitted is new york hakeem jeffries poised as the next house caucus leader. he received the maximum contribution allowed by law and he's not alone, others got contributions, richie torres, and he told hillary vaughan that he would donate the money and insists that donations from bankman fried has no impacten on his colleagues. >> and 92% was spent for democratic. >> that contributed heavily to republicans, i'm confident in the ability of congress to conduct robust oversight. people are going to see the hearings and the tough cross examination and will judge for themselves. >> meantime, there are calls for bankman fried to be extradited from his
9:11 am
multi-million dollar penthouse in the bahamas to the u.s. so he could answer to a class action lawsuit to answer for ftx, and tom brady, gisele bundchen, shaq, and. >> ftx, is it-- >> i'm never wrong about this stuff, never. >> there have been questions what happened to nearly half a billion dollars that had disappeared in the days after ftx started to portray financial troubles. well, the bahamian security commission in the bahamas say they transferred the funds to a digital wallet in their control as ftx goes through bankruptcy proceedings, so there could be some relief for folks who lost out on a lot of money. >> we're going to dive deeper into this in the next hour
9:12 am
here, but for now charles watson reporting live from atlanta. thank you, charles. griff: well, the stars of the g.o.p. gathering for the republicans jewish committee in vegas. and alexandria hoff is live from the high profile event in sin city. >> good to be with you. the potential political rivals are plentiful. president trump is the only declared candidate, but that's set to change soon. here is mike pompeo. >> when i raised my right hand to serve the country, it wasn't to a person, it was to you, and the people of the united states of america. >> former president trump will
9:13 am
make his rjc address. and larry hogan had a common sentiment, that the party needs someone new. former vice-president mike pence was there and criticizing was less direct. >> and i'm sick and tired of our party losing. >> we must unite our party around a bold, optimistic agenda that offers a clear choice and lays a lasting foundation for victory in 2024 and beyond. >> so on the second day of the republican jewish coalition's meeting, speakers include governor chris sununu, tim scott, ambassador nikki haley, and governor desantis and benjamin netanyahu will make an address here. the morning program just kicked off and griff, this will be extending late into this
9:14 am
evening, back to you. griff: you will be there to cover it, alexandria huff live for us in las vegas. aishah: can't escape nevada, alex. and president joe biden is celebrating his granddaughter's birthday today and it's not all fun and games at the white house as the biden administration petitions the supreme court to unfreeze his student debt relief plan. lucas tomlinson joining us live from the white house, lucas. >> good afternoon, aishah, that's right, president biden's granddaughter is getting married at the white house now and we'd love to show you pictures, but it's closed to the press and we can't do that. in his first public remarks since returning from the overseas trip, president biden admitted inflation continues to be a problem. >> inflation at the grocery store is coming down slightly, prices for things like clothes and televisions and appliances are going down as well. gas prices are down, but it's going to take time to get inflation back to normal.
9:15 am
>> it's not just taming inflation on the to-do list for the white house, but student debt back. critics say that biden's plan is unconstitutional, and filed an emergency request fot supreme court hoping it can help the white house resume the student debt relief plans. our own rich edson asked if spending hundreds billions of dollars, up to $20,000 per student will make inflation worse. >> any potential inflationary effects for the plan for the administration. >> it's a good question that you're requesting, but look, the president has always-- i don't have any data to share with you on that particular question, but the president has been very clear he wants to make sure that he's lowering costs for the american people. >> president biden turns 80 years old tomorrow. the oldest president in u.s. history also becomes its first

to receive $1500 off your kohler walk-in bath. and take advantage of our special low monthly payment financing. >> welcome back. former president trump firing back after attorney general merrick garland announced the appointment of a special counsel to investigate trump, having government documents after leaving office. his response included a call to his fellow republicans, watch. >> it is such an unfair situation that's happening in this country to republicans and to conservatives, and you people have to fight. you have to fight to be strong. aishah: for more on this, we're joined by republican congressman from new york and member of the house small business and foreign affairs committee. claudia, thank you for joining us in person in the studio. i want to start off with the former president.
9:21 am
you got a shout out by the way in his speech, i don't know if he thought you were going to be there. look, he says he wants republicans to fight this. >> the republicans do have a fight this. we're seeing a barrage against the president, constant lawsuits, even latisha james is fighting the company. it's like a malicious prosecution at this time, they're trying to transform a liability into a criminal. and you see merrick garland who should have appointed a special counsel to investigate hunter biden and his relationship with his father, the president of the united states currently serving. the they're with donald trump and have some fear of him. it's not a partisan democrat thing, it's across party lines and a lot of people fear the president, do not want to have him in office and they gather against him.
9:22 am
aishah: going back to the question, how do you fight? do you investigate the doj? >> right now i think the doj, merrick garland is proving to be one of the most, i would say politically motivated attorney generals we've had that i can remember in the modern era and, yeah, i would say he goes from calling parents domestic terrorists for standing up to their school boards in virginia, to now going after the president for anything and then really selective prosecution, malicious prosecution of these things. i remember even in my first term, you know, we actually asked under president trump he was the president at the time, we asked then attorney general sessions to investigate hillary clinton, peter strock, lisa page, james comey and all of them have walked free without investigations. we laid out a letter, co-authored with now governor ron desantis, at the time a member of congress, we laid out in our letter exactly the facts
9:23 am
that we knew of that we were were in front and out in public and said these are the statutes violated civil and criminal, look into these and investigate. we have obvious violations, potentially criminal, with hunter biden. money laundering, all some kind of schemes and we have nothing, no investigation, an attempted coverup of the laptop. aishah: you'll investigate. >> yes, absolutely. aishah: you'll investigate hunter biden presumed to be the chairman of the oversight committee said he would not subpoena the current president, but he'll subpoena hunter biden. what about an impeachment hearing, do you support that? >> absolutely. i think we should look into all of this. so many issues about impeachment. some people don't want to go down the road, but we have legitimate reasons, and president trump was impeached for a phone call denied due process during the january 6th inquiry and investigating the
9:24 am
president over things like look like are mundane and other presidents have done without having their entire family and their home disrupted. so i think it's looking like malicious prosecution we should that, but in congress we have subpoena power, but don't have the department of justice. that's something we should consider when we take back the white house. aishah: and taking place and have to ask you about the ftx collapse. patrick mchenry, the top republican calling it a dumpster fire. this is how crazy it is. some of these democrats have benefitted from sam bankman fried's money, sit on some of these oversight committees. so they think they can do the job without any conflict. how does the majority handle that. >> boy, this is going to be interesting. i used to serve on the financial services committee and there's a famous video we can't proof the veracity of it,
9:25 am
but looks like the chair of the committee, maxine water is blowing is kiss to him, but this looks like a ponzi scheme and money was taken from innocent people, innocent investors, the money was used to fund another resource and people suffered, looks like enron and so many terrible situations and we need to investigate and patrick mchenry will do a competent job. aishah: thank you very much. have a good day. griff: great interview. and now for the other side of the aisle, we're joined by democratic congressman from california and member of the house oversight and reform, education and labor transportation committees. thank you for taking time, i want to pick up just where my colleague, aishah, left off with this ftx scandal and the money going to 92% of democrats. but first, as a member of the
9:26 am
oversight committee do you believe that there should be a deep dive into what happened? >> yes, clearly there was a huge irresponsible issue. it's being processed through our -- through the department of justice, but crypto current say h cryptocurrency has to have better oversight. did you yourself receive any ftx money? >> no, i will make certain that i don't. i have-- even before this i was dubious of the presentation of cryptocurrency. it seemed, i will agree with representative, like a ponzi scheme in this issue so we've got to have oversight and hold people accountable and that should be bipartisan. it's discouraging to hear the continued sort of posturing of
9:27 am
partisanship. we have disagreements with my colleague, but that doesn't mean we constantly have to be pointing fingers. griff: should democrats on the committee recrews themselves if hearings are forth coming? >> i think we should look at possible conflicts of interest, including where people get campaign funds and that's true for everything in congress. clearly there's a problem with money in our politics in terms of direct contributions to individuals, but a bigger problem is independent expenditures which are disproportionately spent for republican candidates, unfortunately. griff: while we're looking into the future. let's talk about leadership of your party, looks like hakeem jeffries is poised to be the minority leader. do you support him? and what can you tell us about how you would like to see your leadership shape up? >> i think, first of all, i think our previous leadership was historic.
9:28 am
nancy pelosi, when you disagree with her or agree with her, the first woman, and she's a friend, grateful for that. and grateful even though we disagreed with her. congressman jefferson is a friend, even though he's a red sox fan, i'm a yankee fan, and another member from california all are good and i will say our transition has been graceful. and transparent. so, i'm very proud of what's happening in our caucus. griff: in just in the last 40 seconds or so we have left. pick up on the conversation between aishah and congresswoman tenney, and that is about your incoming chairman, james comer is going to do a deep dive into the biden family business. it looks like subpoena hunter biden. your reaction to that, are you okay with that, something you
9:29 am
believe should be pursued. >> i was a former republican when i first got to office. and i believe it should be facts. and i sat through the cohen hearing and the mueller hearing and i think the voters, the message you sent, whether you're a liberal democrat as i am, or a conservative republican, that we respect each other's ideological and principled view how we govern, but ultimately do what's best for the truth of the american people and let the voters decide. i'm fine with oversight appropriately done for anyone. griff: congressman, thank you for your time. and enjoy the rest of your saturday. >> thanks for inviting me. griff: shannon bream will interview republican recommend and senator tom cotton and an exclusive interview with senate intelligence committee chairman and democrat from virginia mark warner. check your local listings for

saturday. let's start with this culture reset at twitter, l. be straight with me. companies get taken over and there are new goals, and it's about making money and the bottom line. how is this takeover any different from anything else we see every single day in this country? >> i think one of the biggest complications that we have with this takeover with elon musk is that he's also barttering some of his stock and money from tesla to fund some of this. not only a standard takeover of a company, but someone who is working multiple enterprises and the success of one could potentially impact the success of the other. aishah: people are calling this chaotic and makes twitter look bad if people are fleeing twitter. how is it any different? i mean, this is what companies
9:37 am
go through. sometimes the culture changes. >> absolutely. that's true. companies, cultures do change. i think with this though, one of the biggest things, sometimes when it company is acquired, it's through a company that's public still. he purchased it, it's now private. that's a big deal. like i said, he runs tesla. what happens, for example, if china doesn't like some of the commentary going on in twitter. now china may not say it out loud, but a lot of his factory, a lot of his work is happening in china. is it potential that maybe they slow down the factory work if he doesn't do what they want in terms of censorship of certain content? what's something we don't know until it happens. there's complications in this beyond him taking over the chaos of firing people. the things that he's doing with the privacy and security of the platform that i think that everybody needs to be a little concerned about here. aishah: i want to ask you about that. that's the focus of so many
9:38 am
conversations right now is the free speech part of it. he's brought back people like kathy griffin, babylon b. and he put out a poll whether he should bring back the former president although the former president says he doesn't want to come back. could this be a problem if there are employees left to monitor, what people are saying? >> that's definitely a question, how many people will be left there? regardless he'll find people, but the big question, who is going to be the moderator and at the end of the day, it's going to come back to him, whether he wants to say it out loud or not, he doesn't want that. he doesn't want to be the guy the end of the day who everybody is pointing at, saying, hey, you're making the final decision and coming down to elon musk as the person monitoring this context. he's a business guy and he's leaning into this and forced into politics even more whether he wants it or not. aishah: i've got to get to the
9:39 am
ftx collapse, creating turmoil for other crypto companies and we'll have hearing for this on capitol hill for sure and calls for federal oversight. what do you think of other crypto companies looking at this, look, we followed the rules and we did it the right way and we're going to get -- we're going to have to suffer from it. >> there are companies out there trying to do it the right way. so happens at that ftx is one of the most public facing and everybody is hearing about now, it's in the minds of the public when you get an advertisement about joining a new crypto platform or purchasing a new coin. people are skeptical. they already were skeptical. it's only going to get worse now. i'm interested to see what happens in terms of allegations of fraud. you know, we just saw elizabeth holmes who got sentenced to 11 years in prison yesterday. what can happen to this guy? we don't know yet, but it could be worse depending what they bring to court and how it goes down and that's really not a good look for the industry.
9:40 am
because there are good actors, but definitely it's few and far between at this point, i think. aishah: they've got to extradite him from the bahamas first. joe, thank you. >> thank you. griff: well, the 2022 fifa world cup kicks off tomorrow in qatar, but a new ban on beer sales is causing havoc among the fans. alex hogan is live in doha with the latest, hey, alex. >> hi, griff. the world cup will kick off in less than 24 hours and people are coming here from all over the world. but one big change that's been making waves has been this new rule that beer sales will not be allowed. you actually can get some alcohol in the stadiums, but only if you're paying for one of the exclusive v.i.p. suites. everyone else in other sections of the stadium will only be able to buy nonalcoholic beer
9:41 am
and one of those will cost you about $8. now, if you're getting a beer at the fan festival or a designated allocated hotel bar, there you can buy a beer, but it will cost you about $14. there's been a lot of criticism about this change, especially since it came just two days before the start of the global event. we met some fans today who say it's just a couple of hours if you're actually watching the game, they can live without the beer temporarily, but it's the concern more so of the potential for other rules to change as international travelers descend on doha. the head of fifa gave a speech and fired back at criticism. >> let the people enjoy this world cup. let the people enjoy this world cup. it comes once every four years, how many occasions do we have to unite the world? how many? do we want to continue to divide? do we want to continue to spit

going through several bear attacks. and ticketmaster says we strive to make it easier for the fans, but that hasn't been the case for many trying to buying the tickets for the eras tour. >> saying we want to apologize to those trying to purchase tickets. we're joined by the taylor swift super fan and check this out. i was so taken this week by your frustration, but i want to get your first, your initial reaction to ticketmaster now apologizing? >> well, honestly, it's about time. it's taken a few days. i would have thought they would have apologized immediately, but it's a step in the right direction, what i'm concerned about though is what does this mean for the landscape moving forward. if they can take advantage of fans in this way with taylor swift, they can do it with any celebrity out there and any artist out there.
9:54 am
i don't understand what the long run what the apology is going to do. i would like to see changes. griff: what changes? what could have been done differently. it's a pre-sale, so the viewers understand. the public sale has been canceled because of the disaster in the pre-sale. what would have been done different? >> i don't know enough about ticket sales how it could be done better. this isn't the way. somebody overestimated or underestimated the fan base and the tickets and feels they should have been better prepared. they promised taylor they were prepared and she came out with her statement. and they kind of have a monopoly on the situation, i don't understand how they didn't anticipate the people coming through to see the concert and the least favorite part of ticketmaster going off and saying it has a little to do with taylor and it's her fault because she hasn't toured in a while and that's
9:55 am
ridiculous. it doesn't matter when she toured and when the concerts are. if the fans want to see it, the fans should be able to bout worrying about bots taking the tickets and selling them 95,000 out of vegas. the apology is nice, but ow how do we stop it in the future. griff: that's a good question and the doj, new york has an investigation into that, but the point that they at least heard the fans and you were one of them with the outrage on social media was like this. take a look, this was your reaction this week. >> this is really my first rodeo with (bleep) ticketmaster and this is going on the whole time and nobody's done anything? what are we doing? where is taylor, also, where is taylor, say something, girl. it's (bleep) crazy, crazy, i'm losing my mind. it's unfair for everybody. griff: taylor heard you and so
9:56 am
did ticketmaster and you're not the only one. >> i hope so. griff: you're not only one to be fair. >> i'm loud enough, i think. yeah, it's something that you get riled up about and frustrated about and twitter is the perfect place to go on a rant and yell about these things let people know your feelings and that's what i felt like i needed to do especially on behalf of taylor swift. we're all upset. griff: i've got six seconds left. did you get tickets yet? >> not yet, but i'm going to get them. griff: we've got to get them. check her out and cutting stems. get those tickets. >> thank you for having me. griff: it's almost 10 a.m. in moscow, idaho, where a massive effort is underway to find the killer of four college students. we're on the ground coming up next. personalized financial advice from ameriprise can do more than help you reach your goals. i can make this work. it can help you reach them with confidence. no wonder more than 9 out of 10 of our clients
