they are two of the four victims who were brutally murdered early sunday morning last week. in the off-campus home. they described her as a loving goal oriented young woman who made the dean's list three times. they say she planned to return home last tuesday to celebrate her mother's birthday. her mom said she is extremely grateful for the support from the community during this difficult time. >> people are giving, the whole community. everyone is hurting. everyone feels the pain of this. one shiny thing out of all this i never realized how beautiful my community is and how much love there is for people we just have one bad person and we have to find that guy. >> both kayleigh's mother and father just sharing how much it means to them to have the support. now police released new details on the case last night per

placed hours after the students were killed was made from the phone of one of the surviving roommates. two other students were in this three-story, six bedroom house at the time of the murders. those students are cooperating with police according to investigators. police also said the victims were likely sleeping when they were stabbed multiple times. and that they were found on the second and third floors of the house. officers believe this is a targeted attack and again the killer has not been caught yet. the murder weapon is not yet been recovered. the prosecuting attorney, bill thompson says a law enforcement is trying to expedite everything that could possibly lead to a suspect. he came here to the crime scene yesterday with investigators. he appeared very emotional. i saw him leave the house you could see the pain on his face. i had a chance to ask how he was feeling this is a dramatic crime scene he just saw. it's the aftermath of four young students who were stabbed to

death. >> end of this is a close knit community there is not been a homicide here in years. >> can you talk about the impact this is having even on law enforcement to just having to go through this had to be tough to see. correct is difficult for everybody. anytime there's a loss of life like this particularly young people like this it is horrible. it's going to affect the community comes going to affect the officers it's going to affect people in my office. it's going to affect all of you. >> there is a heavy law enforcement presence in this area right now but i have state police, the fbi, investigators going in and out of this house trying to solve this brutal crime. you can see some of them walk into the door right now. this whole area it roped off with the crime scene tape. law enforcement is going to have a press conference on this later today around 6:00 p.m. eastern time but we are going to carry that live and hopefully we can get more answers so many people

all of the students. >> hardy assesses brutal murder mystery? >> and michael is correct for there's so much we do not know. this is a targeted attack but whatever is at the scene, no matter how small it is, some type of evidence that indicates the suspect actually intended to kill one or more of these victims. it was not a random act. it was not an impulsive act. it was an act they directed toward that person present michael botanist talk about one person being injured during the homicide. that might bring it to the conclusion that was the first and primary victim in this case. doesn't play out with what we've play out before for their stabbed multiple times each,

they were in bed there could be three collateral damage. you could have three that were primary targets, three girls that live there. there has to be a little bit of knowledge even prior that day or before that when the suspect got in with no forced entry and was able to kill four people in bed. >> if there are signs that one or more of the victims tried to resist, tried to defend themselves does that leave you to believe potentially the killer or killers dna could be on the premises? >> you would hope so. he could have gloves, he could have a gator over his nose and mouth, he could have a stocking cap for this should be fibrous in a suspect at the very least there might be saliva pretty might've injured himself during the attack. as for people attacked. going through blankets or covers there were over the victim. the could be one victim who

actually woke up and confronted the suspect. there's through forensic. it's interesting. to look at exactly comes back in the beginning. there is no threat to the community. i begin the police a case here. they have been trained for active shooters in college towns and high schools. and when they got to the scene is obviously older crime scene because of the forensic condition of the victims. they knew there is not an immediate active person that just left that location. that was misconstrued by people

assess the state of the american economy? >> well, the american economy there is still inflation out there. although cpi came down last month, there were some promising things, for instance copper went down, freight costs went down, used car prices went down. if you look at prices for apartment rents, they begin to stabilize which is a big softening there is a big part of the component of the cpi. having said that, airline tickets for those people who want to get away for thanksgiving, they are up. food is up. you are going to have the most expensive meal on the history of thanksgiving up an average of 20%. so food and energy is still an issue for the energy is the question that got us into this mess it will continue to be the biggest variable going forward. >> and feckless sure audience some numbers for thanks giving this week, but are up 26.7%.
