will be held today. ethan shapen and three others stabbed to death in a murder case that has left the moscow community and the united states in disbelieve. ethan loved life. he laughed contagiously and smiled when he woke up and still smiling when he went to bed. may we all try to make the earth a better place and all live like ethan. his funeral service will be held in his home state of washington. meanwhile one week into the investigation and authorities are still searching for answers moscow's police chief says no suspect, no murder weapon and no clear motive. >> can you share with us i believe they are targeted killings and do you know who, if any of the victims were the actual targets. >> y are all the structures we e

last week. they are probably going to be leaving in a day or two. and that means a lot of people they would like to talk to are going to be gone. >> ainsley: ethan chapin the 20-year-old first one to be buried today was a triplet. all three went to the university of idaho. his sister is mazie and his brother is hunter. and his parents said he loved his social life. he loved golfing, surfing, pickle ball, loved country music and the comedian of the family and echance siblings were the ones who had to tell their parents that he dived because the parents said there were no drugs involved. no weird love triangle that's being reported by some outlets. >> steve: a lot of crazy rumors out there it. >> ainsley: he spent his night at his girlfriend's house. xana's house which is one of the five girls in that home. >> brian: 8 hours between the time of the attacks and the 911 call and the phone that was used

and why no one knew about this going going. in one thing is clear listening to lawrence jones talking to the parents. they dent think the ex3w0eu6rd who was probably going to be a future boyfriend. wasn't involved. cops agree. a guy with a whited t-shirt around the food truck. they say he is not a suspect. the private driver they used the night of partying. they talked to him. he is not a suspect. so, who is a suspect? and was the door open at night? did they penetrate their way into the place the night the type of knife they say the military doesn't use anymore. may be the type of knife handed out to rotc students on campus. >> ainsley: no signs of forced entry on. >> steve: woods nearby. story in the daily mail surmising whether or not the killer might have hidden in the thicket and watched the victims inside the house for a while. that is just purely speculation.

what is not speculation though in the month of october a few months earlier an elderly couple in that town their dog was found filleted and skinned dead. and some are suggesting that perhaps between the knife used in that attack on the dog and could it be the same person who savagely killed those four co-eldz there in idaho. >> they said it's a three story house. i am wondering if there is basement and they consider that the first floor. when you look at the aerial pictures of this house looks like only two procedures that. two people were killed on the second floor and two killed on the third floor. >> here is dr. michael baden this morning? >> d.n.a. can be gotten by touch d.n.a. if a person isn't wearing gloves or by the person cutting themselves on the bloody knife that he is stabbing people with or by the fingernail scraping

put up a fight. >> ainsley: which smart if you were able to do that because maybe the suspect's d.n.a. or the killer's d.n.a. is under their fingernails. >> brian: think if anybody went to the hospital they had to be somewhat cut up to a degree if someone is going to struggle. adults struggling for their lives. can you just imagine if anybody went to the emergency room anywhere in the area. probably very few in an area like this that they might be looking or anybody who went to a cvs or a target to pickup bandaids didn't want to go to a hospital. >> ainsley: interesting they said they were killed between the hours of 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. last sunday after they had gone out. some to a fraternity party some at restaurant or bar food truck that you see there. they weren't discovered no one called 911 until 11:58 the next day. i guess in college people get up, they go to classes, come home at lunch or maybe they slept in.

don't know about it doesn't mean that they don't. >> steve: to that point, i think you are right. i thought it was very curious in the press conference last night where the chief said that the 911 call about an unconscious person was made with one of the roommates' phones but apparently it wasn't a roommate who made the money call and the chief would not tell us who that person is. and it's like well, when are you going to tell us about these other people, apparently some friends were there at the house at the time. >> right. yeah. i mean, they are just going to try and maintain the integrity of the case. and, you know, there is not a lot of information are public. they will give the public what they need to. to further the investigation. i know they were talking about two girls didn't hear anything. s that's what is known publicly. you know, there is a possibility that maybe they did hear something and have a crucial piece to give to the case.

but, in order to protect the witnesses, they wouldn't let us know that. >> steve: yeah. i know the chief said yesterday he felt that it was a targeted killing but he didn't know for sure whether or not any particular person was targeted. what does that mean? >> well, i mean, you have four victims. each of them have their own lifestyle and, you know, what that may bring into the case itself. so, it certainly looks like they were targeted. certainly looks like there was some anger going on there with, you know, the reports of multiple stab wounds. so, that in and of itself, you know, investigators are going to have to go back to the timeline, relook at the videos and anything that they have from the point before until the time when

they believe the murders took place before 3:00, 4:00. will. >> steve: now that the fbi is with them as we look at the timeline right there. now that the fbi is on the case and they said yesterday, they have got over 20 investigators there in idaho, i'm sure they have already started triangulating and following their cell phone patterns because your cell phone is like a tracker, they can figure out, since they know the number, where all those phones were that night. and it's just a matter of time until they release that you would think. yeah. i mean, it's early in the investigation even though it's a week old in terms of the murder, it's still early in the investigation. those records take a while to get sometimes. i'm sure they are going over that, doing the tower dumps to see who was in the area where the girls were at the food truck who was in the area where the

per year we haven't come up with $100 billion yet. no guaranteed that wealthy countries are going to pay up. first of all promise that can't be delivered. taking a step back and realizing tried to solve for 30 years ago and has failed. shifting from solving asking for money. rich countries don't feel flush with money and not will to do this and poor countries need to get out of poverty. this is not about handouts, this is about getting them into the global economy, getting -- lifting people out of poverty. that's how you solve vulnerability. >> let being take a look at emissions chart. by far, number one, doubling us virtually china emits $14 billion metric tons per year. u.s. is closer to 6 tons of metric ton and getting better.

solution. neither for climate change nor for development. will. >> brian: here is what worries me negotiator from 200 country have agreed to establish a fund that would help these poor, vulnerable countries you mentioned with climate disasters so every time there is a tornado or a hurricane it's going to be because of the highly developed nations who are going to write billions of dollars worth of checks. and i sense, this is not your area of expertise but a democratic leader will just write those checks without even going through congress. >> yeah. i think biden would find that very hard. i think a lot of countries around the world are going to find it very hard to come up with trillions of dollars. just just not going to' ha. secondly, also, why are countries like pakistan very vulnerable to floods? it's because they are poor. and so, again, we seem to say oh, we should just make handouts instead of making sure that these countries get out of poverty so they stop being vulnerable so they can actually deal with many other problems
