shortly after 10:00 p.m., presumably there were a number of people in there still doing their shopping. it's a super center so there is a grocery store in there as well. gunshots rang out. we now know from chess week seven dead, including the shooter, here is what the chesapeake police had to say in its first prefere press conferee a listen. >> they realized it was an active threat situation we switched our tactics to active threat response and went that motion. several hours, many other officers also f responded, we located multiple fatalities and multiple injured persons. later through the course of providing treatment we were able to establish that we believe it's -- we believe it's a single shooter and that single shooter is deceased at this time. >> and of the injured, five have been teen a local hospital and, of course, as i mentioned, seven

dead. unclear, guys, what the motive was or any details about the shooter. walmart put out a statement very quickly saying this: we are shocked at this tragic event at our chesapeake, virginia store. we are praying for those impacted, our community and associates we're working closely with law enforcement and focused on supporting our associates and there is a very large law enforcement footprint here already. the sun not yet up. we did have a little bit of reaction from one of the walmart employees that was inside, take a listen. >> just left out of the break room, management came in there and started capping people up in there started shooting, bro. sad, you know, we lost a few associates. i don't know how many. i'm not going to speak on it. he can tell you he plotted this

and of itself. they may still be finding people inside who are hiding once the shots wrong out. obviously in these situations all too accustomed to it people sheltering in there. waiting to get more details right now. the latest is obviously, the chesapeake police saying that the shooter believed to be among the dead, so, there's no active threat right now to this community. >> steve: "the washington post" is saying that the washington field division of 9 bureau of alcohol, tobacco firearms and explosives is assisting. do we know of any explosives that might be involved in this? >> we have not been. we spoke with the pio, the chesapeake police. we did not get any details on any explosives but fox news can confirm that the washington area atf is in route are already

suggested he is going to do, if he becomes speaker, what he would do is he is going to have hearings on the border actually at the border. obviously there were republicans there yesterday. if they have congressional delegation of the republicans and the democrats both at the border, he said the democrats will be able to see with their own two eyes what they simply have not understood. >> ainsley: well, he said he has the support from jim jordan, judiciary and congressman james comb his or her is oversight, and they support him to investigate the collapse of this border. when the white house was asked about it, this is what they said. >> the question that we have for kevin mccarthy, who is soon-to-be speaker mccarthy, you know, what is -- what is his plan? what is he doing to help this situation that we are seeing? what -- what is his plan? he goes down there and he does a political stunt, like many republicans do, that we have

seen them do, but he is not actually putting forth a plan. a plan to help us, you know, deal with an issue that we are all seeing that y'all are reporting. >> brian: his plan is exactly what was in place that was actually working. you actually pulled back the aid from the countries want to enforce their border. you quickly let everybody know, beginning with mexico that you need to put 20,000 marines back where they were at your southern border and set up weigh stations where people have to apply. the minute they cross into one country to another that's where they apply. on top of that not a matter of building the wall we already paid for. it's electronics that go with it that allow personnel to be funneled elsewhere essentially they will be the blocking that is necessary. keep in mind, that we paid for. all this stuff was in place. the remain in mexico was working, why? the remain in venezuela is working. do you know that they were yelling at our lawmakers from the other side taunting our guys to say you better let us in, we are going to be coming in shortly because title 42 is

we don't need to wait until the last minute and playing a game of chicken, frankly, is just unacceptable. ains aption tom, what's the solution? what do you want? >> it's simple, congress has two different things in front of them. they can enforce the deal, likely in terms of getting the number of votes that are required, likely the deal that was put forward and agreed to by the unions and rail and back in september. or, they can extend the deadline from december 9th, which is what it is currently at. kick the can a little bit. but, at the end of the day, it's time to put this matter to rest. >> ainsley: okay, tom, yesterday we were talking about gas prices and the administration was blaming russia. they have been doing that actually, for months. and now it's thanksgiving dinner. we are seeing prices go up. turkeys more expensive than ever. frozen vegetables. all the things we need to put on the dining room table for thanksgiving, and they are blaming russia for, this too. what's your reaction to that? >> you know, ainsley, there are so many reasons for higher prices right now whether it's war in ukraine. labor shortages.

that is going to happen. so they're just battening down the hatches. you know, we know from the first day that the biden administration made policy changes to allow so many people to come in across our southern border. even though mayorkas insists that it's secure. it's pretty easy to get. in however, the byproduct of that is this fentanyl come in. killing people in america every day. and it seems like they are turning a blind eye to it. >> yeah. the most frustrating thing for everyone in law enforcement and the republicans in congress who are actually serious about securing the border is every time we go to the border or every time we talk to a border patrol agent, they say the same thing, that this is a coordinated effort by the mexican drug cartel. they are sending people over who are paying the cartel a fee to cross the border safely into the united states. border patrol then goes and becomes the welcoming committee to the people the cartels have

sent over. while the border patrol is occupied with being the welcoming committee, then the cartel sends their coyotes across the border with all fentanyl. and that's how the fentanyl is getting in all 50 states. and everybody knows what is happening, yet, this administration continues to do nothing. >> steve: well, they say they are doing as much as they can to stop it, congressman. here's the thing. you look at the numbers. and we got the migrant encounters year over year. this year close to a quarter of a million people a year ago much short of that and you go back a couple of years, it was 45,000 as we put the numbers up right there. but, here's the thing. they have not expanded border protection to the point where they have got more people to handle the throngs, the thousands of people because if they added more people, they could process the migrants, and also, stop the fentanyl, they can't do both. instead, they are simply processing the migrants. one of the amazing things is the

border patrol union has suggested that the administration hire temporary workers. have you ever heard of a union to suggest hiring temporary workers? hiring temporary workers to process these people. right now one of the changes that joe biden made and mayorkas was they told the border patrol agents once you apprehend them, you are also going to have to sit in the detention centers, change diapers, provide warm meals, do whatever they need to make them comfortable while the drug cartel is sending coyotes across the border. it's preposterous the changes that joe biden and mayorkas have made. they are basically tying the hands of our border patrol agents. we need a military presence on the border. we need to allow the border patrol agents the freedom to do their job. and we can make a dent in all this fentanyl that's crossing the border real easily within 24 hours. >> steve: sure. and kevin mccarthy said yesterday that if he becomes speaker, they are going to hold hearings on the border, actually at the border. so, democrats who, you know, for
