before we have a full picture of what the motive was, why this happened, so senseless just before thanksgiving. >> thank you. >> our country may never recover from secretary mayorkas' dereliction of duty. this is why today i am calling on the secretary to resign. he cannot and must not remain in that position. we will investigate. investigation leads to impeachment inquiry we'll follow through. >> house minority leader kevin mccarthy making that promise with the border as a back drop. he and several republican colleagues visited the epicenter of the illegal immigrant crisis and called on the president to do the same. the white house firing back. >> what is his plan? what is he doing to help the situation that we're seeing?

8:07 am
who signed up to be chasing the bad guys on the border. cartels and smugglers, the gotaways, not doing paperwork and processing and data entry. congresswoman escobar says that is one area where she thinks there could be bipartisan solutions to getting more agents in the field. she says republicans so far in her opinion haven't offered up any solutions that would actually work. take a listen. >> we tried it the republican way, addressing migration and immigration as a border-only policy. expensive and been a failure. the plan to attempt to impeach the secretary doesn't get us any closer to any solutions and doesn't offer any tangible results. >> despite her criticism for those republicans she did tell us yesterday she is more than willing to work with minority leader mccarthy and house republicans to try to find some areas where both sides can come together and find some sort of compromise on this border issue which continues to get worse and

8:09 am
he says when the gop takes majority he wants to hold these hearings literally on the border to force democrats to go there. what do you say to the white house calling this a publicity stunt? >> it's absolutely absurd coming from an administration that they have done absolutely nothing but facilitate the trafficking of children and drugs across our southern border. their plan is they have no plan. to criticize republicans who have not only put forward a plan through the commitment to america but offered legislation time and time again for the past 23 months of which nancy pelosi has soundly rejected and refused to have a vote on the house floor. it is incredibly disingenuous that democrats are saying well, you know, i think we can work together on a couple of these issues. we have tried. they have rejected every single attempt that we have put forward to secure the border, support our agents, to stop the trafficking of children, to stop the flow of narcotics. they have done absolutely
8:10 am
nothing. and now they are going to reap what they sew. we need to be very aggressive in immediately secureing the border and supporting our agents. they have not received one ounce of support from this administration since biden took office. >> talk about the lack of sympathy to those border patrol agents. in fact, just four recently committing suicide. the morale is at an all-time low. illegal immigrants crossing our border at an all-time high and you have the dhs secretary mayorkas testifying under oath last week that the border is secure and he is also claiming the border is closed. clearly that is not true if you check out the number of migrant encounters for fiscal year. we have them. there were over 1.7 million in 2021. over 2.3 million in 2023 and fiscal year this year with more than 230,000 migrants encounters
8:11 am
in october. the highest number in october for years. either mayorkas is lying, or he is absolutely clueless about what is happening on the border and that's why the gop wants to start holding news conferences there to show them what is really reality. >> absolutely. i have had the opportunity to question mayorkas myself in front of the house homeland security committee multiple times, 5 or 6. each time he has lied outright. when i press him on the very numbers that his department publishes, he says that they are inaccurate. when i confronted him on the 1.4 million illegals who have been quote unquote paroled into the united states on a five-year temporary system where they in five years are supposed to turn themselves in so they can be deported, which is laughable, he says that's not happening. that's wrong. then he presents this righteous indignation front where he just says oh, you know, you are disrespectful of agents. no, what's disrespectful is not

allowing the agents to do their jobs. they aren't babysitters or processors and they need to get back on the line. what i saw in el paso was 12 miles of border that is unpat rolled by a single agent. think of the national security. >> i want to talk about the legal letter that's coming out stating that more than a dozen republican attorneys generals are urging a judge to keep title 42 in place which has been used to expel migrants to mitigate the covid pandemic. the judge ruled the biden administration must end the policy if late december giving them the time to prepare for an expected influx of illegal immigrants. title 42 was a trump-era policy. those states that are now urging to keep it in place include arizona, louisiana, alabama, alaska, kansas, kentucky, mississippi, nebraska, ohio, texas, west virginia and wyoming.
8:13 am
republican states trying to make a change. and this administration is pushing them tooth and nail to make no difference whatsoever. do you think they will have any luck with this by this letter that they just sent to a d.c. judge? >> i think so. what we've seen as a result of open border policies that biden has allowed to continue and facilitate is every state in the united states is a border state. every town in america is a border town. and these governors have a responsibility to protect their citizens of their state. they can't do that when you have gang members, terrorists, fentanyl killing 300 people a day in the country, you can't protect your citizens when you have an open border with anyone who wants to come across from over 151 different countries just coming across. i think they will be successful. the other thing that i will add on title 42. it was never designed to be permanent but the only tool left in the tool box that our agents have in order to stop this. we'll see upwards of 18,000
8:14 am
people coming across the border and we don't have the agreements if place to send them back to their home country. >> thank you very much. that's all the time we have. we have to move on. thank you very much. appreciate it. meantime karine jean-pierre is snapping at reporters in the white house. watch this. >> dr. fauci, only 13% of >> hold on a second. we have a process here. i am not calling out on people who yell. >> i didn't hear yelling and also did he or did he not? new claims by the white house on the president's conversation with china's leader and the origins of the pandemic. we have brian kilmeade on deck and he joins me next. : if you're on a fixed income, today's rising prices are a big problem. but as a veteran, you already have a solution. it's your powerful va home loan benefit. it lets you borrow

>> julie: we'll get to all of this with brian kilmeade. the white house now claim president biden did in fact discuss the origins of covid-19 with xi earlier this month. the president, however, said nothing about that issue in his news conference after the meeting. the white house notes on the meeting also didn't mention it eventually. white house national security spokesman john kirby dodged the question. >> the president has been very clear that we need china to be as transparent as possible when it comes to helping the world understand how covid started and how it advanced the way it did. certainly it was an issue. >> julie: but yesterday a white house official approached

several outlets including fox claiming the president did, in fact, raise covid origins and pressed xi for transparency. dr. anthony fauci spoke yesterday and what is expected to be his final white house briefing before his retirement next month. here is what happened when reporters tried -- they actually dared to question him on the origins of the virus. >> dr. fauci, only 13% of -- >> hold on a second. we have a process here. i'm not calling out on people who yell. >> she had a valid question and asking about the origin of covid. dr. fauci is the best person to answer. >> i hear your question. we aren't doing it the way you want it. this is disrespectful. i'm done, simon, i'm done. i'm done with you right now. >> julie: so my goodness. brian kilmeade "fox & friends" co-host and host of one nation

i mean, he contradicts himself. we have that sound of fauci saying these remarks. >> if you look at the data, they are just profoundly striking of the curves of death and hospitalization of unvaccinated versus vaccinated, versus vaccinated and boosted. so there is a relatively smaller difference in vaccinated and unboosted versus vaccinated plus boosted. it doesn't mean you shouldn't get boosted. the real danger in the people who have not been vaccinated. that's where we expect if we see a problem this winter, it will be among those people. >> julie: it's okay for him to continue his narrative but when questioned by reporters on contradictions, he refuses to answer and then gets yelled at by the white house press secretary. i don't understand what the point of that press conference was. >> so say goodbye.

8:26 am
why would you tell me that two weeks later? i don't know. >> julie: it's more mixed messaging. i have to move to another topic. reaction is pouring in after the usa men's soccer coach where this shirt at the world cup. it is saying states instead of united states. an opinion piece says it speaks volumes about a nation divided playing into that on the world's biggest stage in front of a global audience feels like we lost before we even stepped on the pitch. it feels down right unamerican. brian, the world cup is supposed to be a chance for countries from around the world, hence world cup, to come together for a common goal every four years and this usa head coach turns his back on his country wearing that despicable t-shirt. not united, no red, white, blue, no eagles or flag or nothing. it's as sterile as can be.

critics are calling it appalling. i call it disgusting. >> i don't know whose decision it was, if he was a national team player or the coach or nike. nike pays a lot of money for this moment on the world stage. when nike does that they say we need you to wear x, y, z. that looks like a black and white shirt or dark blue and white with white logo on it that stays states. harold ford getting ready for the five. he said i think it looks cool. i don't know if they were trying to get a look. i've never seen the word states ever in anything. but a time a hard enough time getting athletes to stop kneeling on the world stage. half the women take a knee up until recently. the women's world cup team. to get them standing is one thing. can we get the red, white and blue and united states there? i thought nike would be a little more cognizant of that knowing they had the ceo come out with a statement a year ago saying we're really a chinese company,

need biden? i'm not sure, kathy. the vice president not invited so far. kamala harris also dodged a question herself whether she would go stump for warnock saying this is her quote. i haven't made a decision. i'm trying to figure out what i'm doing tomorrow. that's okay if somebody asks me that. she is the vice president. >> in theory she has a team of people telling her what she is doing tomorrow and make time for whatever people want her to do. maybe campaigning for a very important seat in the senate. this is what we saw in democrats all last fall and last year is that they have evaded talking about their record. they have evaded talking about the very policies they know have made life more difficult and expensive for the american people. warnock is talking about want georgia to turn out for him. as he has been senator georgia their energy prices have gone up

don't get me wrong. not a good time. >> i think what president biden is saying is that the economy is still climbing back. inflation is still high but high around the world. look, people are -- it's not new that grocery prices are high. the democrats have the better plan to bring down the prices. they have worked really hard to bring down the cost of gas, worked hard to insure that funds are reaching states, and so we know that prices are high but people are going to get together and happy thanksgiving to all who are celebrating. >> julie: i will give you the last word, cassie. does it make the president look out of touch and do you think putin will join him in nantucket? probably not. >> well, of course it looks out of touch. we know while prices might be high around the world they are higher at home because of democrat policies, the very policies that president biden has championed and signed while
