what i see this past week for example a combination of patients coming in testing positive for flu and influenza, rsv and covid appeared a little bit of everything and testing negative for everything means another type of virus, but the good news is, todd, most of my patients the symptoms are mild. i haven't had to hospitalize too many patients and those who i have had to send to the hospital are the younger ones with complications from rsv. we compound all of this was shortage of basic medications, it becomes a problem even though rsv and covid and flu all viral infections, sometimes secondary bacterial infections which requires an antibiotic peer that is hard to find sometimes. >> todd: in those instances the antiviral medicine can be life-saving because the disease can be the ones that ultimately really makes you sick or god forbid kills you. why is this happening?

because so many people getting sick at once or supply chain issues or why, dr.? >> wood is a combination. it is ca dome at community gap. we have lockdowns, shutdowns and social distancing and masts. we don't get exposed to the bugs and bacteria to build up our immune system. so babies born during the pandemic, they see these viruses for the first time. for some of them it is severe. and a shortage of medication like tylenol, fever reducing medications antibiotics because of supply chain issues and because of a lot of the ingredients produced overseas or manufactured in places like india, china and bring that manufacturing back to the united states to not worry about this bottleneck effective shortage. it is not just about antibiotics and things like tylenol. other important medications like cholesterol notifications,

cancer meditations, high blood pressure medications. so we really need to work on bringing back manufacturing to the united states and make sure we are not prescribing unnecessary medications and that prescription that are unnecessary. most don't treat viruses. >> todd: children's tylenol because you think there are not a lot of options but what alternatives do parents have? >> it depends on your age. based on their weight and age, you can only use tylenol if over six months of age. you can use anti-inflammatory medicines like children's ibuprofen. but also hydration is important. if your child is feeling unwell give medication to help them with a runny nose for it if old enough, keep them hydrated and use a humidifier.

the national border patrol council brandon judd on that front. brandon my belief we have you, there you go. great to see you. i think this marshall thing, air marshall thing will come as a surprise to a lot of people. you have hundreds of air marshals being taken from their post. these are trained guys being sent to the southern border described as humanitarian work during the busiest travel period of the year. what do you make of this? >> this is absolutely crazy and the typical robbing peter to pay paul for failures of the secretary. you can't destabilize one agency and expect that you will be able to continue to protect the american people. we expect there is going to be air marshals in the error to ensure another 9/11 doesn't happen. now that you are taking people out of the field, sending the clear message that it is open season for air traffic as a

means to harm the american public. you can't do this. another thing you have to look at it does not matter we have air marshalls or not, dhs is creating a safe and orderly immigration system. that is absolutely false. what we are seeing right now is anything but orderly. it is inhumane. if you think they clearly shows and sends a message to the cartels that they can do whatever that they want. and people can cross the border. we are not enforcing our laws right now. even if you have the error marshalls and continue to release in the united states, we are not creating a safe and orderly immigration system. this administration has clearly failed as far as border security goes. it is absolutely a free-for-all on the borders. >> carley: this is coming from dhs, the department of homeland security. the department was created after 9/11. now you have secretary mayorkas sending air marshals to the

border taking them away from their post to do what they weren't trained for and then straight humanitarian work. how far have we really come over the past 21 years since 9/11 happened? where is he on that? where are secretary pete buttigieg pushing back on this as well? >> we obviously have not learned anything from the past failures and past experiences. like you said, where is pete buttigieg? why is he allowing dhs to pull people out of his department to, again, destabilize one law enforcement agency to help another law enforcement agency when you are not doing anything for the border patrol by bringing these people over? we have got to have policies and programs. that will secure the border. not pulling your people from one agency to another agency. if we have the proper policies and programs, we could come in fact secure the border peer of

the problem is that the night i was on a midnight shift in every single one of our agents, performing administrative duties rather than patrolling the border. you can't do that at and expect that we will stop the criminal cartels from bringing across mental, criminal aliens from specialists in the country. we have to do better. >> carley: you bring up fentanyl and that guild americans in 2021-202275000 americans and these candy machines, a drug that will reverse the effects of fentanyl so hopefully people won't die. these narcan vending machines are popping up in small towns across the country. one small town of 7,000 people forced to read talks seven times in one month alone. is this a sign of just how bad this fentanyl crisis is getting? >> this is basically giving up. this is basically saying that we will not do anything to stop the drugs from coming in.

lot of americans will be doing this year? we just can't afford to do that. >> todd: this is america, to your point, we shouldn't be doing that. but again, amber, this is one holiday stealing christmas as well and even for something as simple as biting your tree. let's focus on the holiday itself. will you have to downsize christmas as well this year? >> oh, yeah, definitely. i'm really concerned about that if we are completely honest with you. i have four kids and i have to worry about the cost of formula when i can find it for my twins were on top of the fact with inflation, toys have gone up. everything that we would usually get our kids for christmas, that has gone up. my kids are not going to understand. there is a whole lot lists under the christmas tree. they will wonder why santa didn't bring what he usually brings.
