5:06 am
thanksgiving dinner. he has a lot to answer for. here is what ron klain says. he said, "joe biden is tackling inflation lowering costs, and he took on big pharma." i don't think so. they paid another how many millions of dollars this summer on more covid vaccines that people aren't using. he claims the prescription drug and health care costs were brought down, and that they worked with republicans to rebuild infrastructure. he also claims that they worked with republicans to make more in america by passing the chips and science act, and that they brought republicans together to pass the first meaningful gun safety legislation in 30 years. they go on and on, talking about all of these things that many americans say don't really impact their lives the way inflation and gas prices do. >> lawrence: it's just so interesting, because you see the

polling that says 75% of republicans, democrats, and independent playlist believe we are heading in the wrong direction, and they blame joe biden. is he talking about that 25% that are going to be objecting at the table? when i talk with independent voters and democratic voters that wanted to give joe biden the shot, as y'all remember, went to every single swing state. there's a lot of buyers remorse when it comes to him. they h may have voted for the democrat in the midterm, but if he wasn't on the ballot -- i don't think they would have been waiting for him again. >> rachel: we brought in enes kanter earlier, new american celebrating thanksgiving as an american for the first time. he talked a bit about that he didn't say that joe biden was what he was think before, but he talked about what he was thankful for. take a listen. >> for me, it was the first time i came to america.
5:08 am
i was obviously thankful for my family, thankful for my health, and now i'm thinking today when we go around the table i know exactly what i'm thankful for: the freedom we have. people obviously criticize america and say things are bad, blah blah. i really want to take them, buy their plane ticket and take them to some of the countries out there like turkey, like china, russia, iran, north korea, venezuela, cuba. "listen, you are complaining here, but look what's happening." >> lawrence: you've got to give him credit. it's quite admirable for him to have so much joy in the midst of everything he's gone through, even to become an american citizen. i don't know how it feels not to be able to go back to your own country because they may kill you or threaten your family. >> joey: here's what's important about him and what i respect about him. i don't know his individual politics. i don't know how he feels a lot of the issues that we may argue about it our thanksgiving table.
5:09 am
he's not sitting there on some partisan stamp. he is sitting there on a purely pro-american, pro-freedom high. there's a smile on his face, he's ecstatic for the freedoms he just inherited by earning an american citizenship. it's not "us versus them" when he's talking. it's to respect and appreciate what you have here regardless of politics, because it's special. >> rachel: was also great about him, he's a new citizen, fighting to preserve the freedoms that many of us lost during covid and we need to restore. he isn't just enjoying the freedoms of america, he wants to preserve them, and he has put his own income on the line to do that. which is something -- everything, including his family and his friends, he he cannot now see back in turkey because he spoke of the truth about those countries and what so many of our corporations are doing in terms of their corrupt relationship with china, the largest human rights abuser in

the world. good for him. we need more americans like enes kanter. on the other hand, kevin mccarthy is calling for those who do not come here illegally to not enter our country, and he wants to hold those in power, like alejandro mayorkas, accountable for what they've done in opening up our border to those who come here illegally. listen. >> our country may never recover from secretary mayorkas' dereliction of duty. this is why today i am calling on the secretary to resign. he cannot and must not remain in that position. if secretary mayorkas does not resign, house republicans will investigate every order, every action, and every failure to determine whether we can begin
5:11 am
impeachment inquiry. >> joey: this is so important, because republicans waiting the house mean they don't have true legislative power when it comes to passing something. they can prevent something, but they can't make something pass. those who understand the civics, understand that the power to purse resides in the house, so they can affect budget and money but not administrative policy. they can't affect the border with republicans controlling just the house. what they can do is have an effect on those who do make decisions. so this pressure to be investigated, or that -- "you must resign" is more of the pomp and circumstance, but the idea to say, "we are going to investigate you, you better clean up your act, we are going to come looking." that is the one way republicans can have an effect moving forward. it isn't just about punishing mayorkas are bad and for what happened at the border, it's the way they can affect what will

happen to the border. >> lawrence: this is what they have to say. members of congress can do better than point the finger at someone else. they should come to the table and work on solutions for our broken system and outdated laws that have not been overhauled in over 40 years." i just got to mention this, because this is the headline we talk about today. of course the air marshals are under dhs, they are supposed to be keeping us -- they are taking the u.s. air marshals and sending them to the border. i mean, i just don't understand this type of policy right here. rob peter to pay paul? it's not going to work. >> joey: you live in texas. they have texas state game wardens patrolling the border. men and women whose job is to make sure that when we go out and hunt and interact with animals that we are doing it appropriately. they are in boats patrolling the border because there aren't enough people there. >> lawrence: they are supposed to be patrolling our highways, and there at the border.
5:13 am
>> joey: but the border is secure, by the way, according to mayorkas. >> rachel: and the reason is border patrol instantly processing and acting as travel agents to move these illegal immigrants further into the country with our own tax dollar. this idea of impeachment, we are all normalized to this, right? you opened the door to that, and what alejandro mayorkas has done, the dereliction of duty as homeland secretary by opening our borders -- by the way, just in october we have now apprehended -- and this is the only ones we have gotten -- 40 known terrorists have entered, just that we have caught, in october alone. >> lawrence: that doesn't include got-aways. >> rachel: or the 90 before october that we can't. there is an uptick of terrorists trying to enter our country.
5:14 am
so far more reasons to impeach alejandro mayorkas than we did with our former president. tom homan was on, by the way, and he talked about this with lawrence. listen. >> they do oversight hearings, there's going to be a lot of damning information that will put mayorkas in a very bad spot and force him to resign. so i salute mccarthy for doing this and i can't wait for it to begin, because mayorkas has violated the oath of office that he's taken, and his actions on the border have failed. as you know, lawrence, every month, a record number. he has failed for 18 months. time for him to go. why do they need air marshals? he just said the border is secure and closed. why do you need more people down there? i'll tell you why they are sending more people down there, to process quicker and release quicker, because they don't want the optics of overcrowding. because if there's not overcrowding, there's not an issue. keep lying to the american people that the border is secure. >> lawrence: that's an important point that tom is making.
