buying or not. joe: that is a car payment, something to put back. the difference between three roommates and having one roommate. depending where you are in the socioeconomic scale $433 is an impact your life. rachel: so many are choosing between groceries and heating. i stop thinking about people living in cold places that are saying they are cold and this is america. we have people who are cold who can't afford their gas bills, can't afford their heating bills and it is so intentional. it doesn't have to be this way. a business cycle we can blame on unknown forces, these are intentionally done through green policies mostly and making people poor. will: another thing that could have a huge impact is there's a rail strike.

there's been talk with the union and major rail carriers. the biden administration attempting to step in earlier in the fall, that has been rejected by the rail workers union. it is expected if there is a rail strike it can have this impact, $2 million per day, from the association of american railroads, these are things you can expect, any type of passenger rail problems, rail is one of the major transportation -- trucking and rail, major transportation. rachel: so much energy is transported by rail because we have an administration that killed the keystone pipeline, rail was the backup plan, looking at energy, will people go cold because we can't have energy? not just food for us but food for our food. people in the south, got to do an interview on thanksgiving

secretary, everyone said -- morgan ortagus called him boy wonder, he has been a disaster. will: this would be a disaster if the administration can't avert a rail strike, steve more said this would be a black eye for the administration. >> people feeling they are poor and they are. we have this rail strike, would be a great danger to the country, you think things are expensive now, wait until you have a rail system shut down and i hope we can avert this strike but half of the merchandise you by auy at the store whether it is groceries or other items, some energy is transported by rail. this is a real black eye for the administration who told us they have this rail system solved before the election.

rachel: rail workers are saying they are not getting paid enough. any other concerns, what the rail workers want. will: i believe -- not confident this is the case, it is paid leave days, they want more sick days, they will be paid for those sick days. the biden administration sold to the american public they had a deal. in a way, not like the student loan crisis where they say there's a big economy and before the midterms. afterwords, they stepped in and said this was unconstitutional, can't hand out money for student loans and than the midterm elections are in you have potential rail strike. rachel: the saudi's sold them out. there was that memo that said

rachel: welcome back to "fox and friends," potentially devastating rail strike looming over the holidays and could impact every industry in america and that includes chemical manufacturers which shipped 30,000 carloads of product per week. that is worth $2.8 billion and the chemistry council says their trade could be one of the first to hit your wallet. the american comes to council president and ceo, chris john, joined me now. >> good morning. rachel: you are the president of this chemical industry, their counsel. explain the impact it will have on your industry and how it will impact every day

americans. explain how that connection is. >> chemical manufacturers would be one of the first industries impacted by threat of a rail strike so to prepare for shut down railroads stop taking chemicals in advance of the strike, we have a deadline of december 9th to reach a deal but they will stop accepting a lot of shipments by december 2nd. our members would be forced to either curtail or shut down production within a week of the strike beginning. the reason it matters to your viewers is the chemical industry supports throughout the manufacturing process everything made in this country, to automobiles, pharmaceuticals, refining, semiconductors, the industry supports every sector of the economy. rachel: i'm amazed at what will

president biden did a victory lap and bragged about it ahead of the midterm saying he had resolved this issue. what happened, why did this breakdown after we thought we had terms in september? >> civil unions voted to disapprove the agreement that was reached between the labor leaders and the railroad so we are in a situation where most of the unions approved the deal but some have not. and because those unions will cross the picket line the entire network could shut down as soon as december 9th but for our members that would be a week in advance. that's why it is important we have leadership from the white house and congress to move ahead so we are looking to president biden to engage with the unions, the railroads and congress to prevent the strike from happening. rachel: thank you for joining us this morning.

rachel:st doocy taught me to put the pumpkin pie in the blender. >> turkey hash with poached eggs. what we are doing here is making a shepherds pie with all the leftovers and i'm focusing more as i told you on plant-based things. so i'm using walnut meat, california walnuts, just grinding them up, put them in the food processor and you end up with consistency of meat. you will really like it. i'm heating up olive oil and i will put this walnut meat in here, you can freeze it too. rachel: it is just crushed up chopped up walnut. >> when you use it it is mushrooms. joe: all of my foody eats plants. >> i have a walnut here.
