these are getting more boisterous every day. you can see the people in china fed up with the zero covid policies. the white house isn't saying anything about it. >> a couple of things, it's interesting that you bring up tiananmen square because if you look at the chance and the songs they are seeing, they are socialist, non-communist songs and they sang these very songs before what we saw happened before our eyes back in 1989 in tiananmen square. we did have a spokesperson from the national security department today pushback on this. but i think that the white house has to be very careful here because when we bring up tiananmen square, we know this even the people they want freedom, this isn't going to happen overnight and it's certainly not happening in a vacuum. we have a communist country that is looking at their people that they would perceive as being out of control and we've seen what they have done in the past. we saw what was done in hong kong, what's been done in china. protests are very rare in china. on this scale almost unheard of. >> trace: it really is one of

but also demonstrates the whole fallacy of the entire climate change nonsense. venezuelan oil isn't more climate friendly than american oil. it's ridiculous. it's a disgrace and it needs to stop it's going to remind me of people going on a plane and point out their mask so they can eat for 20 minutes. oh, the virus is fine. it doesn't spread through the cabin. you shut down american oil. the incentivized production in venezuela. what's your defense of this? >> i think we need to look at the facts. this isn't something that just happen. this is something that was happening and then it was stopped because of humanitarian abuses. maduro was not willing to work with the opposition party not only to have a discussion but to have any kind of money that went toward public safety, public health, education, and food security.

fox news spoke to some students who seemed to be feeling okay. >> i feel safer on campus. there's a lot more campus security so i'm feeling good. if you like i can walk around and feel safe wherever i'm going. >> the murder investigation carried on over the holiday weekend. fox's dan springer reports the fbi's behavioral analysis unit went to the murder scene and met with the county prosecutors. the father of kaylee g goncalves turned information over to investigators. he's received information from private investigators but police told him not share the details. the father is pleading with people not to be worried about submitting evidence to police. >> if you can share your information, if you can post it. it's the internet. you can do these things anonymously. for those people who are afraid.

like maybe i was intoxicated, i am underage. that's not what they care about. >> moscow police say they collected dna evidence from inside the murder home and there is anticipation to see whether any of that dna pings with national databases. >> trace: let's bring in former l.a.p.d. officer and detective tim williams. detective, i go back to this my keep looking at the things of the idaho police say. they say they believe this was a targeted attack. they won't say which student they believe was targeted. they keep going back and forth on whether somebody might have been stopped. one of the students, going on to say "it's similar to the whole stalker. if there was a stalker that would be someone of extreme interest. we are trying to find the various potential participants." can't they at least lay out some cards for the family?

the family is frustrated they are not getting enough information. >> having investigated many homicides during my career, there are certain things you want to keep to yourself. this first investigation goes. number one, there are certain individuals of interest that may have the information that you're looking for that's not been publicized. only they would know. so you've got to keep that to yourself or to the confines of the investigation. number two, this was a very bloody crime scene. there's a multitude of evidence and things that have to be looked at the hasn't even talked about. perhaps bloody footprints. blood spatter has to be looked at. do they have certain knives in the kitchen or on the premises that may be unique to the

wounds. >> trace: he talks about the number of physical pieces of evidence. do you know from your reporting and how much evidence they have pulled out of there? >> moscow police say they have taken in 113 pieces of physical evidence but they also say 488 pieces of digital media, digital evidence have been submitted. >> trace: i wonder if you think that's a lot or if you think maybe there should have been more because it was so bloody and because it was so sloppy, as they say. speak. >> it's a lot of evidence. a lot of it could be dna evidence, forensic evidence. harvest of your warrant. certain things that are germane to this case to take some time. i think the governor give a million dollars to this investigation. what that covers is the personnel. they have to be working. the analysis and has to be done and everything else. it has to be paid for.

>> trace: i want to move on to the crime around the country. manhattan. these are the felonies, manhattan. the d.a. alvin bray, these are the felonies downgraded to misdemeanors. in 2019, 39% were downgraded. now it's 52%. misdemeanors resulting in convictions. 2019. all the way down to 29% and look at the misdemeanors resulting in jail sentence. 2400 just three years ago. now 522. you look at this and you think what is going on here? somebody has got to put somebody in jail. >> you look at come as a detective, working in the administration, i look at things differently. this is a story behind the story. the thing is they put stats out, they start with 2019 and they go to 2022. what happened to 2020? >> trace: we have the information in between and it's grown. this is the big drastic thing.
