4:04 am
that's using the platform to reveal sensitive internal deliberations at the company around again that laptop in the fall of 2020. now the details were given to substack writer who's a long time critic of online censorship and he posted portions of the leak in a lengthy twitter thread last night. here's part of it. by 2020 he writes "requests from connected actors to delete tweets were routine. one executive writing to another and more to review from the biden team. the reply would then come back, handled". it wasn't a few tweets and there's evidence to suggest that the platform's officials e-mailed back and forth whenever they felt like censorship needed to be rolled out and then of course subsequently was handled. and there's more, celebrities and unknowns write alike could be removed or reviewed at the

behest of a political party, ie, the democrat party primarily. what's more taibbi notes that twitter took extensive steps to remove the hunter biden story and removing links and posting warnings it may be unsafe and even went so far as to block the transmission via direct message. that's a tool usually reserved for extreme cases like child porn and white house spokeswoman and contributor had her account locked out because she re-tweeted a story about the laptop, that was posted by the new york post and then led a public policy official at twitter, caroline strom to ask what gives. taibbi wrote "strom's note returned that the laptop was removed for violation of the company's hacked materials policy". most surprising of all is the
4:06 am
suggestion that then ceo jack dorsey knew very little about the censorship. taibbi writing the decision was made at highest levels of the company but without the knowledge of ceo jack dorsey with former head of legal, policy, and trust playing a key role. i should also add this from fox news digital, it reports that the fbi repeatedly met with social media companies and even warned them that the russian laptop story or hunter biden lap stop story rather could be a hack and dump or hack and leak operation. obviously that is not the case. in case you're just joining us, elon musk says there'll be a lot more on this later today and we'll all be watching very carefully, i can assure you of that. will: absolutely. pete: more to come. it's one of the moments he said the twitter files are coming and it was a little -- it was 45 memberships late and we're still

4:11 am
-- scascandalous part. pete: they were deleting direct messages inside of twitter. you couldn't send the story to me, that's something they use in cases of child pornography. except in this case, they're doing it on the hunter biden story. so the government was doing their part, twitter going above and beyond any of their guidelines to suppress this. rachel: so this election was a close election in 2020. everyone knew it was going to be close and everyone knew that this story was explosive for all the reasons you said. they knew it was probably true, and so this altered the election and this is basically an in kind donation to the democrat party and to joe biden. it is a priceless, i mean, you can't buy a commercial with that much power. pete: please delete my political opponent's tweet.
4:12 am
okay. that's what was happening in the twitter files. i don't like this, delete it. rachel: this is coming from the people who told you that democracy was on the ballot in the last election. these people are full of it. they rigged the last election in 2020 election, now we don't know where to go to get back our election and if this doesn't change and if the republicans -- we'll have some republican congressmen on later on in the show, if they don't do something serious to break up these monopolies to make sure this can never happen again, to invoke as they said and make them act like publishers or hold them responsible as if they were the new york post in terms of what they're censoring or not, the republican party is over and this will essentially become a one party system. pete: the democrats in the house just elected as their leader an election denier, hakeem jeff reese and denies the e --

jeffries. will: nba star lebron james was upset with his court of media minions. he was upset with them, disappointed was the word he used. why in because in the weeks prior, there was a story in the n ba where kyrie irving, a former teammate of lebron james tweeted out a film that's been described as anti-semitic. it was a big story, kyrie was suspended, i believe. pete: five games i believe. will: lebron had to answer questions about that, it's the nba and former teammate. then a story last week in the washington post where dallas cowboy's owner jerry jones of the nfl was revealed in a photo 66 years ago in the 1950s at his high school when his high school was being desegregated. and he's in the crowd, he's 14 years old at the time. pete: 14? will: yeah, he's in the back and craning his neck to see what's happening and it's ugly in the front and a bunch of teenagers

yelling in the face of poor black kids trying to go to school. all we know from the photo is that jerry jones was there; right? and lebron's upset he wasn't asked about this by the media. he said i was wondering why i haven't gotten a question about the jerry jones photo. that's one of the moments our people, the black people, i feel like as a black man athlete, when we do something wrong, every tabloid and news coverage is a bomb ticker and the whole jerry jones situation has been buried under and i was disappointed i haven't receive that had question from you guys. rachel: interesting. pete: interesting. first of all, they know they're gonna get asked about things like that. that's the nature of the business. i'd be frustrated if i was lebron being asked about everyone else and giving a hot take in that moment and probably gets tiresome but to your point, there's a point when you look ao and don't know if we have it. it's not like jerry jones was in the front and that was a really
4:15 am
unfortunate chapter in our history, which thank god we've moved beyond and done our best to rectify. otherwise am i un-aware of racist accusations being made against jerry jones? rachel: can i say this, lebron james wants to talk about something that happened 65 years ago because it won't cost him anything, by the way, it costs him nothing to bring that up. if he talks about china where there is real slavery right now going on, he won't do that because it costs him money. by the way, how much more money does lebron, he's like literally the one person in the nba who has so much money it probably won't make that big of a difference to him to actually stand up for realtime modern slaves. but he wants to talk about an incident that happened 65 years ago that eludes to something that happened 200 years ago in our history. this guy is a fraud. and we should talk about the human rights abuses in china and
4:16 am
we will. will: this is why -- okay, you don't just -- all right, so lebron james doesn't understand why he's asked about kyrie but not jerry. that's what he's disappointed in. his explanation is because kyrie is black and jerry is white. he said that when a black athlete does something wrong it's a bomb ticker and the white person is not questioned. it's a skin ticker and not that one happened 66 years ago in a different sport and it's unclear the lesson from the story. the other is a former teammate of yours in your sport and that's why you're being asked about it. but, okay, lebron, want to be a general social commentator and want to comment on jerry jones in a different spot. that's what you want to be. i'm with you now and you go, okay, why don't you comment on the place where you make hundreds of millions of dollars that's employing slave labor in the present tense and talking about china now, not simply a random country. not asking you about burma or

other place withs human rights issues. i'm asking you about the one you make money on. if this is who you want to be and you want to comment on everything under the sun, why don't we start with this one. they're protesting in the street as you're talking. pete: i see what you're saying and would like to employ that to "fox & friends". if i like the topics, see you at 6:00 a.m. and if i don't, i'll be in my hotel room. i like how you put it. there's a personal sacrifice to commenting on china, which he would be unwilling to make. rachel: can i tell you, this is why people respect elon musk and even donald trump. these are two people who have taken huge financial hits to do what they think is right for the country. lebron james not only doesn't do what's right, he's a powerful guy in the nba trying to silence other people about china. he's not only not willing to stand up against modern day slavery in china, he's telling other lesser players he has power over to shut up and not say anything.

4:26 am
this was the runup to the 2020 election when we're talking about it now. they got away with it. they were emboldened by it and there's no telling what they did or to what extent they took this since then. they've been manipulating the american people aggressively whether it was covid or, you know, the lockdowns, you know, the maga and white supremacy threat they've put out all the time and they've been pushing this and there's a direct line to call in to social media, to twitter and tell them this is a list of people we want permanently banned or blocked and they do it for them. that was a presidential candidate at the time who's now our president working also in conjunction with the fbi. we know they had a role in this early on prepping them for this and we have our own government, the fbi and presidential candidate and now president working directly with social media to undermine their political opponents. this has to be fixed and what will happen, rachel, is when we get the house back, we'll have subpoena power and decide what
