11:04 am
downplay the story to prevent amplification from the hunter biden story arose first. and then twitter employees went back and found a basis for that and company policy that did not really exist before. they really cobbled it together. this does confirm more or less what conservatives had alleged all along. that it been dismissed as a conspiracy theory on the rates. we see in fact this was a politicized decision at twitter. eric: what about the communications apparently from the biden folks? about this directly to the twitter people? >> this is a concern that has arisen a lot during covid that the government was able to flag it tweets they did not like to social media companies that willingly complied with the will of the government. we sort of saw that in a 2020 campaign from the twitter files. the biden team is there reference on these e-mails from twitter employees were able to flag any tweets they did not like. and apparently twitter willingly

did the bidding of the biden campaign. we did not see anywhere near that same to the trap campaign. during the 2020 campaign. at this time the trump white house was in power biden was not in a power. the press secretaries locked out of her account for sharing accurate information on the social media page and yet you had this political campaign a political candidate who is not in government able to wield more power than the sitting government for there's a lot of concerns about how much deference was given to democrats versus republicans. >> only point of the sitting government does not have any right to tell people what to say our reporters what to report on. they can of course as a reporter weighing in with their views. how does this impact journalism first amendment, twitter and what is that constant back-and-forth tension between government officials and reporters, does that still fit

with let's say twitter? >> a lot of journals who bought the twitter line have been discredited by a lot of this for there are of journals who do not really question this line from the government from the intelligence agency the hunter biden laptop story was a product of russia disinformation for there's not sufficient scrutiny on that line that journalist bought twitter had this hacked materials policy that had not really existed before they'd never been relied upon her for that is being applied subjectively to the hunter biden laptop story. until for republicans were coming into her house majority obviously do not have a lot of legislative power controlling only one bank branch of government. this will be a really great topic for oversight which is the greatest power they will have has a house majority i do think the timing of this is interesting with republicans coming into town just a few weeks. quick stop at the oversight here is james comer talking to fox news about investigating twitter biden let's listen. >> every info employee twitter who was involved in some

father seeks office again. but twitter continues to wield influence over the public conversation with relatively few checks and balances. the republican party's been fractured in the past about whether to take regulatory action. think the incentive a lot of conservatives was to keep their hands off the private market is much as possible. i think you're seeing a greater consensus on the right help by revelations like the twitter files toward putting some regulatory action are they are able to wield. >> here of the washington examiner, thank you. we will await and report on whenever elon musk releases later on this afternoon. good to see a thank you. >> thank you. c5 the road to the white house melo no longer be getting iowa for democrats for the democratic national committee rulemaking arm has bowed to beat south carolina the first primary state starting 2024. the full dnc must approve the move which present biden's champ there is a way to better represent the party diverse

specifically was targeted. here is their response. quickly do believe this is in a targeted attack that's based on the information that we have provided all along that there did not appear to be any forced entry to the residence. there were survivors in the physical evidence has seen itself or were cleared to articulate those were not sure at this time we have not yet determined at this time of that target was the residence and or the occupants inside the residence. >> now, this is video from inside the idaho state police crime lab or test on the forensic evidence is being conducted right now. the lab director actually sent this video to us this morning for this video does not show the test being run on the evidence in this particular case. but i am told this is where scientists are working around the clock right now to quickly get test results to detectives for analysis in this brutal attack this brutal murder at this investigation for the dna evidence is going to be key in

11:23 am
is crossing the border is a concern those are just the individual to catch for this hundreds of thousands of got a ways every single month, month after month after month that we have to be worried about. so absolutely i think senator graham has valid concerns. arthel: if president biden sees the border and the situation there in person, do you think he would make securing the southern border more of a top priority? >> i think that is a great question. i think he certainly should see the border. the vice president should see the border. that's when the biggest crisis that we have in this country is what's going on at the southern part of the fact neither one of them have visited, if not talk to the men and women of the border patrol the folks that are down there, sworn to protect that border is a travesty. whether or not he change his mind and change his policies is open for debate. we do know is a strategy they have employed over the past 23 months has been an abject failure for the american people. it has done nothing to secure
11:24 am
that border. we see it continuing to go -- my getting worse month after month after month. and of course of title 42 that is going to expire here in a matter of weeks. we are only going to see that border continue to get worse because of that. because they have no plan in place for when that authority lapses. arthel: it will get to the part about the plan in place. because there is something that's in the works. we'll talk about that in the second period but first of all explain how title 42 helps border agents. >> will again title 42 is put in place during the covid pandemic and allows border patrol agents when they apprehend individuals coming across that border illegally they are able to return them back to mexico without putting them in custody without filing the paperwork. and so it's a relatively quick process. it keeps the border patrol officers safe during that covid pandemic they didn't have to bring them back into facilities.
11:25 am
that has allowed border patrol to quickly expel about 30% in various month-to-month. but on average about 30 -- 40% of individuals every single month. these are 30 or 40% of individuals and that equates to about 60000 individuals a month there will now be released into the country because it by demonstration has no plan for they have no plan for dealing with the increase coming across the border. to have us in chad we all know there's a big problem there at the border. there is no debating that. we keep talking about the bite administration not having a plan. they are not here but i do and to ask you are you in touch with current border leadership? are they aware of the bite administration proposed policy replacement for title 42? because there is a policy overhaul they are working on allegedly. >> i am in touch with a number of folks and border patrol and they're all frustrated as they have been frustrated over the last several months but yes obviously they are involved in a lot of planning this going on.
11:26 am
but none of the planning you see, you're here and they talk about a six-point plan the unveiled back in april. none of it is working it's really not going to work after title 42 is removed. arthel: i should not say legibly should say reportedly. so what works then? you are telling me there's nothing that works other than title iv that's it that's yielding that can help those overstressed agents on the border? >> know there are number of things that can work alongside title 42. look, title 42 is always temporary. obviously is put in place during covid. you always knew was going away for the question is one of the other enforcement measures that you are going to take along that border so that you send a signal that you put deterrence back into the borders which law enforcement should be doing but it should be consequences for individuals who choose to break the law. under the biting ministrations plan there are no consequences. they stopped a border wall construction they removed remain in mexico for the stop the
11:27 am
asylum cooperative agreements we had with three different countries. and they have put nothing in place that will deter the illegal behavior. which is why you see these numbers continue to increase month after month after month. individuals crossing the border illegally want to remain here in the u.s. if they do and they call their friends and families back home you're going to see more and more individuals come to that border which is what we are seeing today. arthel: deafly problematic for chattel we will do is try to get somebody from the biden administration who can give us a rundown and explained with the proposed policy is there on the southern border so we can see that they have in mind to try to stem the flow and stop the crisis. former acting home insecurity secretary chad wolf, thank you very much chad. >> alright thanks. supervisor putin's ruthless ronald reagan defense form, defense secretary lloyd austin give the keynote address there today. we are live at the reagan
