this one happening in new york city. caught on camera. one man eating another over the head with a baseball bat. that suspect you see walking away is still at large. reaction continues to orient on elon musk about how twitter blocked the biden story. eric: alexandria half on elon musk. nate on the latest disturbing attack in new york city. first, charles watson and chile new details on the fedex driver charged with abducting and murdering a 7-year-old girl. >> this woman said she has been sounding the alarm's about the 31-year-old fedex driver accused of abducting and killing 7-year-old athena strand.

the 23-year-old woman whose name we are keeping private right now said he sexually assaulted her in 2014 when she was a minor. the man who raped the f-16 eight years ago murdered athena strand, the 7-year-old girl. i hope the family gets the justice they deserve. i hope everyone who did not believe me when i talked about this for eight years does now. the woman has posted chat messages that date back to 2016 accusing him of assaulting her. we are not clear if there was or will be an investigation to this and he has not been charged in relation to dl legations. he is facing murder and kidnapping charges for the 7-year-old case. he admitted to up ducting her before killing her and dumping the young girl's body.

"she was perfect from her creation. she was born perfect. daddy and mommy were scared of how beautiful she was and we feel like we failed deal. i love you and love does not even cover it. mommy is broken without you." sad story.

as for the suspect in this case, he has jailed on $1.5 million bond. arthel: it is really heart-wrenching. charles, thank you. eric. eric: a nightmare for parents. a fedex truck drops up and drops off a package and then kidnaps and kills your child. the covid-19 pandemic has caused an increase of abductions because more personal interaction. in michigan in july police investigated a kidnapping attempt there. neighbors jumped into their cars and blocked in amazon truck from leaving after reports involving a young girl. how widespread is this? special fbi agent at this now. this was solved so quickly. fedex trucks have gps. some of them have cameras.

there may have been a ring doorbell. digital evidence as well as the confessing. >> the combination of all of the things that you just said our how they got this individual. when you look at the digital evidence that is out there and you combine all of these different things, it is very easy to track somebody if you have a combination of visual. if they have a tracking device on that truck and if the individual who kidnapped the girl has a cell phone -- i'm not sure of the 7-year-old had one on her, but the phone company in cooperation with law enforcement especially in an emergency circumstance, they have the ability to track a phone. it is just a click of a button. just has to have legal approval. this is what, i do like to see this in law enforcement.

when law enforcement works fluidly. you get to the bottom of things very quickly. there were about two-re- hundred, i don't know the exact number, of volunteers out searching. you have a community that came together with law enforcement. law enforcement worked fluidly and quickly to catch us individual and then the interrogators that worked with him to interview him were able to get the information and a confession out of him in a very short time. when we look at all of these things that law-enforcement a or may not do wrong, right here is a perfect example of what they do right and the community comes together with them. in this tragedy, that is one thing that we can look at. in this community, that worked. eric: hats off to the neighborhood and people in the neighborhood. when they hear that little athena is suddenly missing.

her stepmother is making dinner and she at some point when outside of their front yard. where she had an interaction with this fedex driver. do we know any information about that? details on that, why this time went by before the stepmother realized that the little girl was gone? >> i saw one report that they had had a little bit of an argument. her and the 7-year-old. she left out of the house. that happens every day all day around the country and the world. unfortunately, this predator was outside waiting. i would suspect that when they look into this one of two things probably happened. the fedex driver drove by and saw her and took a target of opportunity or he was there earlier or around that area before and picked up on this

young girl. there is a possibility that that occurred. we have seen that in the past with these types of predators. interestingly enough, when i was looking at the fedex page a minute ago, what it takes to become a contractor there, there are some hoops they have to jump through. one of the things that surprised me is if you have a felony or any other record or you are on probation or parole, they are okay with that as long as it's been a year since those things past. that is very interesting to me. in this country, if you have done something and you are a felon, you probably have a record of doing things and as we have seen from this report from this other individual, this person had a history potentially most likely of doing these violent things. >> a woman who claims that he raped her when she was 16 years

old. we don't know the disposition of that case. the number of missing children, those now watching could be worried. the fbi, 300 30,000 missing children last year. 395 attempted abductions. only 142, i say only when you compare to the 200 30,000. there it is right there. 142 nonfamily abductions allegedly like this. here is what the missing kids of california say. here is a good slogan. if asked to go in your parents don't know, shout no. if asked to go and your parents don't know, shout no. run until someone. teach children age seven to resist. make noise, make a scene if someone tries to get them to go someplace. they also say in terms of dealing with the young children that if you are seven-10 you

need close supervision. going back and forth from school ensure your child understands. it has always been the rule. don't approach strangers. stranger danger. tragically, it may have failed. so sad in this case. what the fbi is saying is these types of cases are up because of the pandemic. >> right. i will tell you something. when i was in the vi and i was working with a parade, i got a girl that was lost, 10 years old, a be a little younger, the terror in that little girl's eyes is something that still stuck with me today. luckily, we found her parents very quickly and all the things were resolved. once that occurs, if there is not summative their responsible, they could be gone forever.

know who he is. they release this video hoping someone will be able to identify him. a very disturbing video. you see the man dressed in black sneaks up on the man dressed in red. he lets a bystander walk by and then he pulls back from underneath his clothing, takes a full crow hopping to the man in the back of the head. he goes down. the man dressed in black stands over him. unsure if there is interaction before this or why this person was targeted. you see the victim sits up. he went to the hospital nt should be okay. i want to show you a picture of the suspects face. this picture taken on the same day, the attack played out tuesday in upper manhattan. police just released these images yesterday. unfortunately, take a look at these numbers. crimes like this are pretty

establishment in new york. your e-mail. is that your plan? >> i think it's really important as we look forward that republicans are not just saying what we are against. joe biden criticizing democratic party policies, plenty to criticize. the movement is based upon telling people what they are investing in. what they are getting by electing a republican president. the next level of energy and did you see as him. to that point about going to blue areas. if you are trying to compete in pennsylvania, we are not going to go into philadelphia because we will get creamed there. we will just go everywhere else. these media markets, like the philadelphia video marketing plenty of others, new york city, the people getting the news in the suburbs, they care about

that city, they care about those issues. there are a whole lot of democratic voters who when you show up say we've been waiting a really long time for you to be here. they are ready to hear our message. ticket splitters or lifelong democrats ready to try something different. eric: what would you do? you did very well in new york city. how would you try and spread that nationwide for other counties? >> so, clearly, recruitment, campaign manager talent. the way that they are prepared to lead. the ability to fund raise and spend the money efficiently. to ensure with the messaging that we are articulating what we are for. leading into election laws. i am against valid harvesting. in the state where democrats legalize it, then republicans

need to do it better than the democrats are doing it. make them regret passing it in the first place. the election efforts are certainly important as well. collaboration. i am a military guy. not just about bottom down, but top up. there is just a lot more that we as a party need to do in order to ensure that we are most competitive in 2024. work ethic is key. ensuring we are not just going to the places where we do the best to improve and increase republican engagement and turnout but to go to places where they have not seen republicans in a really long time. when you go to a black community or asian community or hispanic community, the key is not to show up and say vote for me. what they want to hear is that we care about the safety on your streets. here are our ideas to make it better. we care about the quality of the education of your kids in

school. it is our ideas, our positions of why we are republicans and putting talent in the way that we articulated to ensure that all of these people who have voted democrat in the past are willing to try voting republican in 2024. >> i do think that the election deniers made a mistake. are you concerned about the threat to democracy? and what we have seen in some of the lies we have seen about the election result. >> the election integrity is something that should be very important to everyone, regardless of whether your candidate comes in first or second. we should be having a conversation because we should be finding ways to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. if there is somebody that has some type of verified confirmed complaint, we should be able to hear them out so we have more trust in the process. what a lot of americans want to

the world against active volcano in hawaii and it is erupting for the first time in 38 years. the lava threatens a major highway on the big island.
