4:04 am
dan bongino, charlie kirk, and others? >> well, brian, as you said, i think it just confirm what is we all knew was happening. that twitter had engaged in censorship and shadow banning and blacklisting of center right voices across america. looks like they particularly had it in for anyone affiliated with fox news, as you mentioned dan bongino, charlie kirk, jay bhattacharya school professor who dissented from the left's party line on the coronavirus lockdown policies. who often appeared on this network. but, it gets to a deeper, deeper point which is that the progressive left in america simply no longer believes in the principles of free speech and free inquiry and open debate. they rely, instead, on censorship and shadow banning and blacklists. that is very bad for our democracy. it's very bad for the spirit of open debate that any democracy relies on. and i'm very glad that elon musk

has exposed. this i have to say that some of these twitter executives have testified before that these practices didn't occur. so, the new house republican majority that i think just has another line of inquiry for their oversight hearings in a few weeks. >> ainsley: do you know what gets me? all the doctor said was that lockdowns are harmful for children. we all knew that at the time. we interviewed a million parents and they all said the same thing, my child is not doing as well. then the test scores prove it when you get back. you talk to any teacher who says the same thing that the kids are behind. i mean, that's what happens when you keep your kids out of school for a year. >> brian: who told them to do it. >> ainsley: exactly, we want to get to the bottom of that what he was saying was not so outrageous. second thing when jack dorsey sits in front of congress and he is under oath and he says he wasn't doing. this now, he says he wasn't shadow banning, maybe this wasn't semantics. >> steve: disability filtering. >> brian: which is had dough banning. >> ainsley: is he held accountable for that? what happens in that situation? >> yeah.
4:06 am
ainsley, i think our friend, jim jordan the new chairman of the house judiciary committee just got another line of inquiry added to long line of inquiries for the oversight that needs to be conducted on the administration and on their allies in corporate america. another thing i want to point out is i mean twitter is not a small company. it's remarkable this was happening. you had executives lying in public and in some cases misleading the public under oath. and not a single person in twitter spoke out. went to a newspaper or another website. went to the government, went to a representative in congress to be a whistleblower and say what was happening. it just goes to show how monolith particularly these left wick companies are. >> louisville, we wouldn't know any of it had elon musk not bought the whole joint for 40 billion bucks. but now it's being laid bare. something else we wanted to talk to you about know jaw dropping development in the last hour and 15 minutes. and that som is one of your

colleagues in the senate kyrsten sinema is no longer a democrat. she is now registered as an independent. the big question is whether or not she would caucus or meet with the republicans or democrats. if she met with your side, it would help you, you would be back to 50/50. ed to per gram says that fox is being told sinema is expected to maintain her committee assignments through the democrats, suggesting she will caucus with the democrats like senators king and sanders. so, what's your gut tell you this morning about kyrsten sinema saying so lock to the democratic party? >> well, it's a reflection on the democratic party and just how extreme and left wing it's become in recent years. they have essentially drug kyrsten sinema out of her party. we would be happy to have her slump in with us as well. i haven't talked to her this morning. this news was breaking.

4:13 am

not freedom of reach, it's not at all clear that he is not going to continue the practice of visibility filtering either. i think while it was a great public service that elon exposed this and i do think transparency is critical and good. there is also real open questions in my mind about what twitter actually does going forward if it is just not going to apply a new elon filtering shadow banning or different way forward. those are some of my takeaways. >> steve: vivek, it has been revealed and we are going to get more. matt taibbi is going to have the short round shortly. we know he now what was going on at twitter. they have been lying to all of us for a very long time. enough to the focus turns to facebook and google. what are they doing? >> i think still the far bigger issue, if i had to pick between the two, is the coordination with state actors to get done through the back door what could not get done through the front door under the constitution. we now know that was happening at twitter. it was almost certainly
4:45 am
happening at facebook, at google, basically all the big tech behemoths coordinating with state and with each other. that's the real meat of the issue. many were lying on it. basis for consumer fraud. that's where i think the focus needs to be. that was you where the first dump of the twitter files was focused. i think that this stories just keeps unwrapping itself. biggest take abe is when these folks lie about the smaller practices that reveals guilt and culpability and hopefully the path to accountability as well. >> ainsley: what happens in that case? what happens to jack dorsey? if it is true knew about this secret committee and shadow banning people and goes to congress under oath and says they weren't doing that. >> so, you know, i think some of the most agreeng just statements actually came from the managerial class in the lay below jack dorsey. revealing to me and disappointing to me jack in the first set of files apparently did not know what was going on. clearly didn't know what was going on and condoned it anyway.
4:46 am
twitter under jack dorsey wasn't that this guy was imposing that top down but that he increasingly disconnected himself and actually the corporate apparatus as twitter maybe purposely separated it so he could step and in front of congress and make vague statements what was happening. this was the managerial class still running the show. inciteful in certain cases dorsey had visibility. >> brian: he did. one of the lines was we got jack on board. he knew exactly what was going on. real quick bigger question next time you are are are on told them. the fbi, the iminged campaign, the biden administration, when it comes to covid-19? that's what is going to be the story. >> ainsley: is there a paper trail? elon musk, it might have been deleted. steve as they say we are going to have to stay tuned. vivek, thank you very much for joining us live. >> ainsley: thank you. >> steve: 14 minutes before the top of the hour and carley joins us with news about some bad news
4:47 am
for new yorkers. >> carley: bad news for new yorkers. survey finds nearly 14% of new yorkers are living in port. that is almost 2.7 million people, if you can believe it, it's higher than the national average over the past eight years. and the average rent in manhattan, look at that number right there. that's the average representative, hitting $5,249 per month. that is up 19% from last year. and it's third highest ever recorded. how about this? "the washington post" biting back at shark week calling the discovery program racist. the post saying the popular show features too many white male experts. the op-ed claiming scientists say shark week lacks diversity and over represents men named mike. they are going after the michaels out there. the article goes on to say the annual programming over emphasizes negative messages about sharks as well. i hear the sharks are furious about shark week, adam.
4:48 am
over to you, my friend. >> adam: i don't doubt that the sharks are very upset by that story. carley, the christmas spirit out here look at this. when were you guys chanting? what were you chanting when i came out here? >> adam. >> adam: i love it. brings out those forecast graphics. temperatures across the country, not too bad. big coast-to-coast storm we are seeing rounds of rain and snow out west. a little bit of snow in the upper midwest. see rain this weekend across the southeast. that's it. that's all the time we have. for the forecast. but we are going to toss it back into you. as we do it can i hear that one more time?
