they did not engage in shadow banning leading up to the 2020 election, shadow banning by the way one of the tweets secretly downgraded to the point where they are not reaching anybody anymore. they are basically just quiet. this all came to light after journalists bari weiss with the latest batch of internal communications last night. she explained in a tweet, "a new twitter file investigation the teams and employees build blacklist, prevent disfavored tweets from trending, and actively limit the visibility of entire accounts or even trending topics all in secret without informing users." and in a series of tweets, bari weiss said the company services strip covid measures were the targets. as was fox news dan bongino, who was rebuilt misplaced on a secret search blacklist. and bari weiss said twitter

conservative activist charlie kirk do not act a pipe. this was all done by twitter executives called the visibility filtering or shadow banning and again, she tweets, "think about visibility filtering as being a way for us to suppress what people see at different levels. it is a very powerful two." one senior twitter employee told us. so, ainsley, i don't know that a lot of people who have experienced this are necessarily asked surprised. they are just not -- you know, this is the first time getting the evidence it happened. >> dan bongino was on last night and he said i can tell you this was happening to me, i thought i was a conspiracy theorist but i was telling the truth but it turns out they are not telling the truth here they went before congress and said jack dorsey said, "this was not happening." but it was and is he going to be held accountable for that because he took an oath.

necessarily honest about what is going on on their platforms. what happens in the business world? how does the market deal with this? speak with the market is based on financial performance and this case twitter, elon musk. this is not his problem anymore, jack dorsey but maybe if subpoenaed or if subpoenaed for lying to congress but you mention all those employees no longer there and/or chose to leave twitter. but i think what elon musk is doing and a lot of ceos have come around and realized, bob iger at disney another example. politics and business doesn't work and it doesn't help your bottom line. you want everyone to come to your platform. you don't just want democrats to come to twitter but you want republicans, democrats, independents of all shapes, sizes and colors. that makes good business sense. so i think jack dorsey may have other problems but financially, he is out of this. but i think what will be

interesting is as time goes on and i don't know the d.a. agreements that these employees decide to get their payout because a lot of them were getting six months of salary. they are getting other benefits. i don't know what the legal ramifications for them, but i will say it is interesting that they get to talk about this and be vocal about what actually happened. look, san francisco company left leaving employees, of course they were censoring conservative spirit what i love and i will make this my final point, msnbc put on television, "oh, that it has been. twitter was not with conservatives." >> harris: tomi, this huge flurry of information coming through. i really want to see the raw data at this point. i need to see what methods and practices, not names and resources and all of that but as a journalist, i'm curious about how they carried this in the raw

kyrsten sinema. her question almost sounds like she is saying right now. she wants to be that voice and the room that is completely independent and you know, democrats must hate that. because now they have lost one trip for them. so we have two independence and a socialist and a bunch of democrats on one side and a bunch of republicans on the other. it narrows that majority but it brings the board, ainsley unpredictability. if voters love that because now more than 40% of americans are identify as independent spirit so she is brilliant to do this in a state like california and smooth in the state becomes purple, not blue or red. she is right where she needs to be in position right there. that puts a lot of pressure on people like mark kelly and others because there is no term limit and i assume she will run again. >> ainsley: what do you want to say, tomi but joe manchin has to make a decision because his approval rating before he voted for the inflation reduction act was in the 70s but now in the

they put everything under diversity, tolerance and equality. but you look at the repeat offenders, they are not held without bail because they can afford it and they had to steal bread for dinner. no, they are repeat offenders because they know they will get out with note the consequences. have democrats been asked why they continue to do these policies that good people in harm's way? by the way usually inner-city black and brown communities most impacted by this kind of crime. so why are we not pushing back beyond just crime everywhere? republicans talked about being crime everywhere. we see crime everywhere and you don't need an ad about it that you see it in big cities. why were not strong enough to say to democrats what is your version of criminal justice reform because republicans do have a version of true criminal justice reform that has integrity but what is yours? it is leading a free-for-all's extravaganza and the streets. republicans did not do that because we are afraid to get in there.
