straight pipe exhaust, designs with the incredible wraps. matt bieber and his give away corvette benefitting hero was there, and my 72 mach one keeping us all warm. pafop.org. don't forget to dvr the show, here is "america reports." >> john: shocking scenes at the southern border, caravan as many as 2,000 migrants poured into the el paso region over the weekend. john roberts in washington, happy monday, we start a new week. >> sandra: good to be with you as well. that caravan, the largest group our team has witnessed since we began covering the crisis and comes just over a week before the expiration of title 42. >> john: critics worry it could lead to a bigger surge of
10:01 am
illegal migration across the southern border. >> sandra: bill, how many migrants have crossed in the last two days? >> 16,000, sandra. the chief of u.s. border patrol reported an hour ago, 16,000 people have crossed in the last 48 hours. that is an average of 8,000 people every single day. we'll show you what happened in el paso, stunning footage as you mentioned, single biggest group we have ever seen during our fox news coverage of this border crisis. a massive caravan of up to 2,000 migrants crossing illegally into el paso, texas. local media in el paso reporting this may be the biggest mass crossing the city has seen n its history, at least in several decades, and you can see in the video wave after wave of the migrants wading across the river, going on to the u.s. side and then they line up and wait. at times the line stretched really as far as the eye could see. it was chilly last night, so you
10:02 am
can see on the u.s. side, many started campfires to stay warm. but sources tell us they are overrun. el paso sector, more than 2400 illegal crossings in the last 24 hours. we are hearing they currently have well over 5,000 migrants in custody in the el paso sector, and as a result the city of el paso says border patrol has started mass street releases of migrants, several hundred migrants released on city streets in el paso this morning because border patrol is so overwhelmed. where did all the migrants come from? take a look at the second piece of video, bussed in and escorted by mexican police. this fox news police showing about 20 busses full of the migrants yesterday afternoon with the mexican police escort, the busses driving the migrants into the mexican city directly across from el paso, they dropped the migrants off at local shelters and ngos. they did not stay at the shelter, they immediately left, walked down to the river to the
10:03 am
border and crossed en mass into el paso, and you saw the result with that footage. eagle pass also inundated. take a look at this footage, predawn hours, a group of about 500 migrants crossing illegally. as usual, almost all single adults. eagle pass hammered in recent days, 650 the other day, and 704 the day before. a huge drain on border patrol resources and what's happening as a result. take a look at the last piece of video. over the weekend, the drone was over the border patrol tent facility in eagle pass, which processes the migrants. capacity of 1,000 and already it was starting to overflow with migrants lining up outside waiting to get inside as border patrol man power is stretched thin and they simply do not have capacity. back out here live, keep in mind what you just saw, with title 42 still in place, set to go away nine days from now, and with all the mass crossings along the border, mass releases are
10:04 am
underway. hundreds of people, sometimes thousands a day in different sectors along the southern border, guys. back to you. >> sandra: the pictures tell the story, day in and day out. bill melugin in mission, texas. a lot more coming up on this, tom homan will react and a democratic congressman, part of the growing chorus of not just republicans but democrats who are calling on this president to go see what's happening at our border firsthand. >> john: the white house is saying no reason for the president to go, we'll find out from congressman ro khanna why he thinks he should go. and ron johnson, wisconsin republican senator, a lot to get to you, including twitter and the pending hunter biden investigation. and the border, you have been working hard on. when you see the pictures of 1500 people across the border, despite the fact the press secretary says nobody is walking across the border, what do you
10:05 am
think? >> they are delusional, a state of denial. secretary mayorkas refused to acknowledge a problem, he calls it a challenge. a number of months ago calculation, at least 3 million people, months ago, have either come across, processed or dispersed or a known or unknown got-away. 17 states have populations less than 3 million people. it's averaging over 7,000 a day, and bill melugin said 8,000. we now have a whistleblower from hhs saying the government, these agencies know they are basically turning these migrants over to sex traffickers. we have called on our chairman of homeland security to hold a hearing on this and also provide answers on what they know, so this is a humanitarian crisis. it is a disaster. it's not good for anybody. it's got to be fixed. >> john: we talk about this in terms of population, like various states or the last two
10:06 am
years, more people have come across the border than live in the city of los angeles, or live in new zealand, or live in ireland, like an entire country emptied out and came across the southern border. let's talk about twitter. we had the latest dump from the twitter files and elon musk saying the old twitter operated as a democratic party activist machine. when hearings are held in january, when republicans take over the house, what do you think they will show? >> they'll show that partisanship, not only twitter, but a number of other media and social media companies interfered in our election to a far greater extent than anything russia or china could ever hope to accomplish. it's just obvious. suppression of the hunter biden laptop story. as important as the twitter files are, i think the most important revelation there was the fact that the fbi was presabotaging the hunter biden laptop story. they had the laptop in
10:07 am
december 2019. there was a coordinated effort on the part of elected democrats in congress to undermine senator grassley's and my report. fbi were giving us unsolicited briefings, setting up the same thing, but when we know the fbi was out there talking about this, you know, hack and spread that information as disinformation and even mentioned hunter biden, i mean, they were set up just in case mr. mcissick did release the computer. and why didn't he release it until after chuck and i issued the report, he was afraid. fbi picked it up, warned him, our experience is people don't talk about these things don't get hurt. >> john: hack and leak operation is how the fbi was portraying it. was the fbi quietly winking and nodding to the social media
10:08 am
platforms, don't publish this stuff, is that interference, and the social media companies are so powerful, maybe twitter is changing to some great, can they ever be regulated or held to account? >> it's going to be very difficult, and try to do it legislatively, democrats will not help us out on that. this is to their advantage. this favors them. bias in the media and the social media companies. so, don't look for a legislative solution. i really appreciate what elon musk is doing by opening up twitter, hopefully the majority of the american people will be troubled by this but i'm afraid only the right will be troubled by it and democrats will shrug and go what's the problem here. >> john: and the other point, too, the fact that the fbi was talking to social media and we know that, the former head of trust and safety he said very boring business meeting not
10:09 am
about trump, wink, and not meeting with the fbi i swear, and then the suppression and censorship. is that a suggestion that government agencies were interfering? >> yes. >> john: in the 2020 election? >> it's obvious. they interfered in my u.s. senate election, unsolicited briefing, nothing in there. i knew it was a set-up, it was a set-up. they leaked it in may of 2021. basically tagging me as a puppet of putin. they have been interfering. interfered in the 2016 election, certainly understood the steele dossier was tainted with russian disinformation yet in march of 2018 they are saying it had integrity. this is corrupt, and i don't know all the connections between the fbi, democratic elected officials, 51 intelligence officials that signed that letter saying it had the laptop had all the ear marks of russian operation information, that
10:10 am
letter itself was an operation, perpetrated against america and interfered in the election. >> john: clearly we'll be hearing a lot more about this when republicans take over the election. good to spend time with you. and more on the hunter biden laptop and whole situation with jonathan turley later on. >> sandra: looking forward to that. we had james comer on last week, the congressman leading the investigation into hunter biden, although when we spoke to him, this is not an investigation into hunter biden, this is into joe biden through hunter. and miranda devine on as well. jonathan turley will lay out where things stand this week on all of that. >> john: always looking forward to seeing him. >> sandra: indeed. >> so this is a significant milestone for me, my family and all the families, and our hope is that we'll be able to find out what he knows and hopefully able to identify other co-conspirators so we can also
10:11 am
bring them to justice. >> sandra: 34 years later, victims' families hoping for justice now that the lockerbie suspect is in united states. prosecutors say he made the bomb that went off inside pan am flight 103 as that plane flew over scotland. killing everyone on board as well as 11 people on the ground in town of lockerbie. david. >> sandra, his name -- he was supposed to be in front of the judge about now, but that is pushed back, he'll be here at this federal courthouse in d.c. the case is unique, in the three men charged from december 1988, he's the first to actually face
10:12 am
charges on american soil and be extradited physically to the united states. we have a picture of him taken yesterday from the alexandria, virginia sheriff's office, it's a mug shot. he's accused of making, as you said, that bomb that killed 270, 259 on the plane and 11 on the ground in scotland, and more details how he was caught and eventually extradited. one of the victims, a syracuse student rickmanetti, there were 30 students, 190 were americans, here is rick's sister this morning. >> one of the goals that we have all had is to seek the truth, and hold those who are responsible accountable. and i think this takes us a step closer to doing that. again, this is just one more person who is responsible. >> in 2020, then attorney general bill barr announced charges against massoud, and
10:13 am
barr was also the attorney general under george bush, sr. and here he was two years ago announcing the charges. >> let there be no mistake, no amount of time or distance will stop the united states and our scottish partners from pursuing justice in this case. >> victims still want answers, this was an effort that began under the trump administration, continued into the biden administration again, he will appear in court behind me and just under two hours, a big day for these families. 34 years later. sandra. >> sandra: we'll be watching for all that, david spunt, thank you. >> john: a triple demic of flu, covid and rsv, prompting calls to reinstate mask mandates.
10:14 am
is it about to be 2020 all over again? where you live? >> sandra: and are home sales about to slow to an absolute crawl in the new year. it is a question many homeowners are asking. charles payne will have the latest on the factors driving that and what it means for the buyers and sellers in the upcoming new year. >> we had the fed pumping money out like there's no tomorrow and like why should anybody be surprised that we have the worst inflation in 40 years. and the democrats' answer is let's spend much more. when moderate to severe ulcerative colitis persists... put it in check with rinvoq, a once-daily pill. when uc got unpredictable,... i got rapid symptom relief with rinvoq. check. when uc held me back... i got lasting, steroid-free remission with rinvoq. check. and when uc got the upper hand... rinvoq helped visibly repair the colon lining. check. rapid symptom relief.

10:19 am
flu, covid and rsv-related illness are all on the rise nationwide. some cities now recommending masks to get things under control. bryan llenas is live in new york city. it's deja vu all over again when it comes to masks, to quote a famous new yorker. health officials are warning it could get even worse. >> yeah, john. go afternoon. reality, a real concern when people come together for the holidays, it's going to lead to a spike in cases. cases are spiking so much, new york city has a mask advisory recommending, strongly recommending that people wear a mask indoors in offices, and even in schools, but also outdoors in crowded areas, especially in places like, for instance, where the rockefeller christmas is, where we went, this is the most crowded outdoor spot in the city this time of year and we found very few people wearing masks outdoors,
10:20 am
and really a general hesitation to go back to masking. >> i would not go back to masks. >> i'm comfortable not wearing a mask. i'm a teacher, so i'm exposed a lot, and you know, we followed the pr he cautions, etc., i feel safe. >> i think a lot of people are over it. >> i think we are protected enough. i think we are done all that we can to do away with this flu and vaccines. >> this is the earliest and hardest hitting flu in a decade. sickening 13 million people. this map from the cdc shows in just a few weeks' time, just about every time colored in red and purple indicating high or very high flu transmission. flu cases, hospitalizations, and deaths surged more than 70% during thanksgiving week alone, and covid-19 hospitalsations jumped 36% since thanksgiving, and hospitals nationwide are strained and have not really been this packed since the
10:21 am
omicron surge in january. in mississippi, hospitals are reportedly so underresourced they are sending patients to patients like tennessee and alabama. and john, the cdc is recommending people listen to their local health officials and that ultimately they do encourage mask wearing, publicly in public transit and please get your shot. they want people to get the flu vaccine, it's particularly effective this year. john. >> john: except with my kids, they both got the vaccine and both got the flu. the luck of the draw, i guess. sandra. >> sandra: experts predicting an historic drop in home sales. the chief economist at red fin saying 32 out of 1,000 households will sell in the new year. the lowest rate since the early 1980s. charles payne on that. we don't want to scare people, but this is a pretty dire warning for homeowners out there, and as i always remind people, this is the largest
10:22 am
asset that they will ever own, acquire and own in their lifetimes. >> epitome of the american dream, own your own home, pay it off and leave something to your kids, and maybe sell it if you want to move somewhere else later. but it is social the cornerstone of every financial dream. we had an amazing boom in housing, right, just one of these mind boggling booms, it was all over the world. you should see europe, canada, forget about it. any money in canada, it's all coming back down. inflation, federal reserve, interest rates, and here is something that really worries me. there's a firm, john burns, really great with the stuff, the cancellation rates right now are what's your key. southwest, 45%. >> sandra: to be clear, people who enter into a contract to buy a home and then bail before the closing. >> 45%. it was 9% a year ago. and it's like that all over.
10:23 am
texas, northeast, north california, midwest, northeast is really reasonable but we never really had the boom other places had. >> sandra: and a lot of times historical it had because the economic situation changes, job situation changes, overall economy changes, a lot can go into that. >> mortgage rates can change, and they have changed so much. near 7% area, we were like 3% for so long, and i think a lot of people waited. i think a lot of potential buyers waited and potential sellers waited and were waiting and waiting and waiting. i don't think anyone saw mortgage rates exploding to, at the pace that they have. so everyone has been caught flatfooted. >> you look at the expectation for home sales to reach a 40-year low and look at the line graph of the change in the mortgage rates that we have seen as the fed has tried to tackle inflation, and it tells the story. look at that. this is what we have had to do to try to tame 40-year high
10:24 am
inflation. those interest rates have just gone up, and not consistently, and not, you know, on a measured basis. i mean, they have spiked. >> the definition of parabolic right there. that's it right there, you don't have to look up the word. and then economic woes, you know, whether we go into recession, a shallow recession. we know labor -- we know everything is going to become really different. people will lose their jobs, a lot of people are going to have anxiety, even if you don't lose the job, if the buddy next to you loses their job, you are going to probably put that home purchase on hold. >> sandra: sort of some speed questions for you real quick. sam bankman-fried set to testify on the ftx collapse. do you think we will get truth from him? >> no. is that quick enough? he was on the usual wells day on twitter thing, he's doing the twitter things all day and all night, he did obviously a whole lot of other network kind of
10:25 am
stuff. he's gone past delusional, and i know he just hired a famous criminal attorney and he's still on twitter talking. he's not listening to anyone, the arrogance is out of this world. it should be a show of just a cr crazed lunatic fell for his own stuff. >> interesting to see the lawmakers who received contributions in this year, 2022. we put together a scroll, there are so many i won't be able to put them up on the screen so you have to imagine as he sits in the hot seat many of them are as well. some, by the way, have said any funds they received from him or the company they will be donating to charity, some people say it should be some victim's fund going back to those who lost, in some cases their entire life savings. finish off by asking about the markets, a rally on wall street, 270 points on the dow. huge economic data coming out tomorrow, you are watching it. why. >> consumer price index is the
10:26 am
inflation report card, number one economic data point of any month, used to be the jobs report. all we talk about is inflation, and there's a hope that maybe it's coming down. earlier today the new york fed had their own version of this, it came down substantially, hence the rally we have now. if it comes in a little hotter, this market could get annihilated tomorrow. conversely, comes in lower, we could be up big. in other words, buckle up, tomorrow is a huge make it or break it day. >> sandra: we may need you to come back and walk us through that. >> i prefer it's a little lower and have something to cheer about. >> by the way, charles, you have a town hall thursday, small business survival. so important. you were out there with your ear to the ground listening to the folks. two-thirds of gdp, it is crucial to hear what they are saying. >> they need someone to hear them. very little representation in
10:27 am
d.c., don't have lobbyist. but they are the backbone of our country, i've got their back. >> sandra: we'll be watching. thank you very much. >> john: american college student vanishes in france. why security from a sport store may be the key to finding him. >> sandra: kyrsten sinema taking heat ironically from another independent senator, bernie sanders. does it spell doom. >> closest things the democrats have to a moderate, makes her fairly liberal, but compared to bernie sanders, they are on different planets.
10:31 am
from gas to groceries, we're all dealing with higher prices, and we could all use the security of extra cash. with today's home values near record highs, the newday 100 va cash out loan is helping veterans homeowners get more money than they've ever imagined. cut your expenses by paying down high rate credit cards, personal loans, even car loans. and at newday, we look at your total picture. when banks say no to a veteran, newday can say yes. >> sandra: police in france searching for an american college student missing for more
10:32 am
than two weeks. the 22-year-old has been studying abroad there but his parents say they have not heard from him now since november 27th. david lee miller joins us, he has the latest for us. what are authorities telling his family. >> in two words, not much. the family says they are being told almost nothing about their missing son because as a 22-year-old he is an adult. privacy issues prevent them from being informed about his whereabouts. his father told fox news digital "we have hit a brick wall". the parents have launched a website to find their son, and part of the quote, we cannot receive updates. december 3rd at a sporting goods story, this is a screen grab from a security camera. he spent 8.40 and then vanished. he had been staying with a host family while studying at the university of grenoble, alps.
10:33 am
november 27th, he traveled two hours south, on november 30th the phone reportedly pinged but has since been inactive. the french university filled out a missing persons report but his parents say they are kept out of the loop. this morning they took their plea before the public. >> i say kenny, kenny, just call me, pick up the phone. you can talk to me about anything. that's what i texted him, call me. >> not characteristic of kenny to not reach out and let us know what's going on. he loves to travel, so the trip is something he's really looked forward to. >> they say officials are award he is missing, telling fox news digital "we share information with families when we can". his classes end later this week
10:34 am
and student visa expires in a month, and the family put out another post "we fear the worst and we want him to be located." >> sandra: gosh, horrific story and hope that they get somewhere with this soon. two weeks now, david lee miller on that. >> john: senator bernie sanders of vermont criticizing sinema after she decided to leave the democratic party and register as independent. sanders is even suggesting he would back a progressive challenger when sinema runs for re-election if she does in 2024. kellyanne conway, fox news contributor and former senior counselor to president trump. over the weekend, bernie sanders not being kind when talking about kyrsten sinema. >> i think the democrats there are not all that enthusiastic about somebody who helped sabotage some of the most important legislation, a corporate democrat who has along
10:35 am
with senator manchin sabotaged enormously important legislation. >> two-fer there. >> senator sanders acts like they have a 60-vote majority. so look, the vitrile upon the shoulders of kyrsten sinema because she has gone the way of most in arizona, away from the democratic party, roughly 70% of registered voters in arizona are either democrat -- and she is saying i don't like the two-party system, rewards those with the loudest mouths and says the most extreme things, and she's much more honest about her voting record and her new political affiliation as an independent than independent bernie sanders. this is a guy who caucuses with the democrat, he did not think much of joe biden to the point
10:36 am
he ran against him for president, made it to the last round, frankly, did not think joe biden had what it took to be the democratic nominee but does not have the courage and the guts to leave his party line sinema has, and be an independent vote for vermont and the senate. they are mad at her like manchin. refused to kill the filibuster. >> john: they thought it was an important principle. >> sure, but they wanted to get rid of it, they wanted to retain all these years and rid of it because they did not have a big vote margin. >> john: no, no, i meant manchin and sinema thought it was an important principle. >> they did indeed. and honest about title 42, trying to get 2 million dreamers, citizenship, i believe, in exchange for not stopping title 42 so abruptly,
10:37 am
expand for another year. >> john: 2024, and how it will play out in the senate. washington post noting senate democrats had a good 2022. 2024 could be brutal. three seats, ripe for the gop favored trump by at least eight points in 2020, montana, ohio and west virginia. when you look at the overall map and then well, democrats will probably run their own candidate against sinema in 2024, it could split the democratic vote, maybe let a republican run the middle. how does the map look for 2024? >> great for the democrats in 2022, they barely got a majority out of it and outspent the republicans in some places 3-1 and more. the map looks just as great, if not better, for republicans in 2024. we cannot take that for granted. we have some work to do, banking and early ballots as discussed previously. >> and fundraising. >> look at some of the states
10:38 am
are up, montana, west virginia, nevada again, michigan, or arizona, and they are coming for sinema instead of saying how can we work together with you, you vote with joe biden and the democrats over 95% anyway, instead of taking we are going to take you out. the pettyness, the childishness of the democrats against the democratic senator has been an independent voice for arizona. i feel good about 2024. these are the democratic senators ee lebted in 201, the first midterm for president trump when he was there, and very hard for them to defend their records here in washington when they get back home. >> john: just barely finished with the midterms but a lot to talk about for the next two years. >> it's already started. >> john: we'll be seeing a lot of you. >> sandra: good to see kellyanne. t.s.a. touting new security technology to speed things up at the airport. sounds great. will it take you way more time
10:39 am
and more of your privacy in the process. >> john: and illegal border crossings, calls for the president to see it for himself. the white house solution, billions in additional border funding. tom homan on whether republicans should get on board with that. >> it's unconscionable the president and the secretary have refused to do their job. they have abdicated their responsibility. we believe strongly mayorkas has to do, he has to resign, we have to remove him. cole hauser is an award winning actor who has starred in good will hunting too fast, too furious and the current hit show yellowstone. beyond his impressive career, he is a proud supporter of the tunnel to towers foundation. i was able to spend some time with cole and his family to reflect on those who have sacrificed so much to defend our freedom.
10:40 am
i know how much you care about america and our veterans and all the things. but you have such a platform now. yeah. and to share that with us that we need to get the word out that we have to take care of these great heroes and their families. you know, as i started to be more and more successful, i was like, how can i help? but when i heard of the tunnel of the towers, and i met brandon in idaho and his family, i was like, wow. there's actually a charity where we know where the money's. going to go. we have 95.1% of every dollar goes to our programs. and i think brandon's a great spokesman for t2t and and his wife, shannon, has two daughters. i mean, oh, my god. they're just special families. so pretty much, if you put your life on the line, if something goes bad, they're there. that's awesome. yeah. they're incredible people, man. you saw all the stuff we put in these homes, right? i was i was blown away. and they deserve it. they earned it. this is not of course, we give them a mortgage free home, but look what they gave up. they gave up their bodies
10:41 am
so, cole, why should americans give donate help? tunnel to towers foundation. i mean, is there any better organization to help the people that has fought for this country and the freedoms that we have? it's that simple. it is that let's take care of each other. and you're going to join us on that mission. thank you. hey, i'm cole hauser. i want you to join me in supporting our nation's heroes and their families. it's only $11 a month. go to t2t dot org.

10:44 am
the end of title 42 migrant policy to happen in just over a week, expected to make the already overwhelming border crisis even worse. tom homan, let me ask you, what's going to happen when title 42 ends. what do you forecast? >> going to be seeing a lot more people come across that border. border patrol is already overwhelmed now. 70 to 80% off the line processing, which means only 30%, the border patrol workforce is actually doing the homeland security duty of securing the border. when you increase the number at the end of title 42, even more are taking out the border, how the fentanyl comes across, unguarded portions of the border, and known suspected terrorists will come across. devastating what the administration is about to do. however, it isn't the end of the world on title 42, they could put remain in mexico back in place, they won't do it, they want catch and release.
10:45 am
