capitol hill and biden will give speeches. >> carley: brooke singman with the details, brooke, good morning. >> that is right, elon musk sending mainstream media into a tailspin after suspending some accounts including cnn donie o'sullivan and new york timers ryan mac, "washington post" drew harwell and fox reporter eric. they violated the terms of service with direct links to an account tracking and posting location in real-time. he said, "criticizing me all day long is totally fine but doxxing my real-time location and targeting my family is not. it will be posed for seven days and the media is upset about it. the executive editor of "the new york post" said suspension of drew harwell's twitter account undermines his claim he plans to run twitter is a platform dedicated to free speech. harwell was planned from twitter without explanation.

know, he didn't and one journalist matt binder, he does technology news and he said "i did not share any location data as per twitter's new terms nor share links to elon's jet or any checking accounts. i've been highly critical of musk but never broke twitter's current policies." >> todd: all parties are in disagreement that he shut down. i understand this from both perspectives having a family and protect your family at all costs. if you see anything that endangers them you will speak up. the notion from the journalist, musk is a free-speech absolutes it's so why not allowing free speech in this context? i think the overall takeaway goes beyond that and it is as follows. where were these liberal journalists since forever? in many cases cold for the censorship of just a few trump,

does it really matter because then you still have the same president, the same administration and office and will they really enact this policy? the answer is "no." >> todd: texas is the underlying case and the courts at the elimination of title 42 is stayed until the court resolves the merits of the case. so basically this is on hold for now but we will toss it up to the courts and argue on the merits and figure out what the heck we do with title 42. the court was making fun with back-and-forth and that is because if you are confused at home, so was the court. this has been going back and forth and back and forth. we need answers because the situation you are seeing right now cannot wait. unfortunately, courts are slow so we don't know if this ultimate case will be resolved in weeks, months, years. yet, as we play around, people are coming to the border. we talk about these numbers all week. the worst-case scenario according to dhs is 18,000 per day and that equates to

mine. my brother was murdered by an illegal immigrant that was deported twice in the past. was arrested two days before he was murdered and because of the sanctuary city laws, the tulare county sheriff's department had to release him. i sent a detainer to the sheriff's department but because of the sanctuary city laws, they didn't have time to get a federal warrant to hold him for ice to pick him up and deport him. this is what is going on. and it is impacting every community in the united states. >> carley: it certainly is. i know the trump administration set of california was not a sanctuary city, your brother would be alive today. now you have president biden's messaging. he recently said there are more important things than going to the southern border and what is going on down there. what is your message in response to that from the current president?

building and get the situation to a point where the fire department could do their job and put out the fire. >> carley: officer duffy, it seems like a pretty big apartment complex. the call came in after midnight. you were knocking on these doors. some people responding, but a lot of people didn't. and you don't know if they are just not home or if they are sleeping, but you do know if you don't get everybody out, those people are going to die. >> yes, ma'am. it was a quickly developing fire. how quickly the smoke was filling at the building was alarming to me. i walked away with a lot of commemoration for colleagues who do this every day. every time we go into a room mostly come out and the situation was worse by half.

it is all we can do to get to every door as quickly as possible and make sure we at least make contact with somebody to get people out of the building. >> carley: certainly a joint effort between the police and fire. on the scene, how do you remember this night? >> intense would be an understatement. initially pulled up on the scene for totally unrelated call type. we were going to something completely different. when officer cometh he errored something else come indeed come a fire. when we arrived on the scene, the intensity of the flames just engulfed the whole east portion. we both realized we didn't have much time where we either had to get in there and help as many as we could or watch it burn. luckily, we had some other officers that were right on the scene after us able to help out our team. and led by a good lieutenant.

officer michael christopher, and cordell wentz also went into help. but it was chaotic. >> carley: you were called to the scene for something different but does this mean it was a coincidence that you were there when the fire started? >> i think it was a miscommunication or misunderstanding that the initial call for service liz shots being fired and someone standing out in the street yelling for help. in later attributed to the possible shots being heard. i assume things possibly exploding. and standing inside one of the air-conditioning units blew up. so we are guessing that is what the original call type was. >> carley: quickly, do you know what caused the fire to start?

>> not right now. they are still trying to figure that out. i wish we did, but we don't have that. >> carley: officer duffy, one person did die and several injured m&a displays because the apartment did burn down. this was an absolute tragedy. one resident said to a local station, "thank god for the officers. i didn't know how serious the situation was until we open the door and the smoke started rolling into our apartment. how does that make you feel? >> more than anything, a broken heart for the family who lost somebody. you know, for the families displaced here at the holidays, i do appreciate the kind words from the community, but that is par for the community that supports the police department. again, it was a team effort from the members of our team as well as the district who arrives with
