5:07 am
this is our best hope of protecting the people of texas, and the people of this country from illegal immigration and the consequences that bill melugin just talked about. >> will: mr. attorney general, i have to ask the biden administration is acting like they have a plan. there's something they are going to unveil. you would think they be coordinating with, for example, perhaps a border state like texas. do you have any indication of their plan if title 42 expires? >> you know that's been the frustrating part about dealing with them. there are massive consequences to our state whether you talk about the drugs that bill melugin was referring to or just the massive influx of illegals and the consequences of that. we've never been given information about a plan, and i don't surveillances we're going to get one this time and i'm very suspicious of any so-called plan that they have not shared with the border states. obviously, it effects us on a daily basis with five, six, 7,000 people a day crossing the border. rachel: let me ask you this , because this is a statement from
5:08 am
abdula hassan, the assistant white house press secretary. he says to be clear, the lifting of the title 42 public health order does not mean the border is open. anyone who suggests otherwise is doing the work of smugglers and spreading misinformation to make a quick buck off of vulnerable migrants. what do you say to that? >> i just say look at the facts and we had over 2 million people cross the border last fiscal year. we've had since the biden administration took over the presidency, over 300% increase in illegal immigration. i mean, the numbers speak for themselves so this idea that somehow title 42 going away which we know is going to cause a massive influx because what they are now going to do, that was our own remaining vestage of some type of law that prevented people from coming across and claiming asylum so now they come across and claim asylum. that's why the remain in mexico is so important. that's the provision of the law that deals with asylum and making people stay in their country of origin or be detained until they get to their

hearing. the biden administration wants to just let them all in, send them to where they go and hope some day they have a hearing. pete: so mr. attorney general, we know there's no plan. we know title 42 is expiring and you aren't getting support from the federal government. let's just set that aside as a given. we know an even larger invasion is coming. your job and the governors job is to safeguard the citizens of texas so sort of ask again, like what is the new approach texas can take in light of this invasion? it's unsustainable, it erases our sovereignty. are there more tools you haven't yet used that you can do to safeguard your state? >> so we've got the legal things i just talked about. we are arresting people that are crossing illegally that we can arrest for state law violations. the problem is, the way that it used to work is people that come across the border were trying to hide from border patrol and coming across all types of areas trying to avoid evading the border patrol and now, because of the biden administration, the cartels know

, hey there's a deal here. just bring as many people as possible to the -- pete: they want to be found. >> yes, to the border patrol and they turn themselves in which puts us in a difficult spot, because now, it's the cartels working with border patrol, not their fault, because the biden administration is told to do that and then the biden administration takes it from them so there's nowhere for texas to intervene. this is all setup to make it impossible for us to stop illegal immigration. rachel: attorney general, i have a question for you. i was down in texas not too long ago, and a local journalist there said the real story is the ngo's. the real story is the money going there. the way they're hiring people within the ngo's to vet people. she said she told me there was just like high school kids that recent graduates that are now doing the job of vetting people coming to our country and they are doing it within 24 hours. i personally witnessed at an airport people coming from
5:11 am
the dominican republic who have only been in our country for 24 hours so whose doing the vetting talk to me about the ngo's and the responsibility they bear and their role in this entire open border policy from the biden administration. >> yeah, and that's a great question. these non-governmental organizations we believe are participating in violating our state and federal laws and we're actually starting to look at that. we've already had an investigation believe it or not of our texas state bar foundation that we believe are participating and helping people come here illegally and not doing it the right way so we started that investigation several months ago. we just stepped that up and we're looking for information about other governmental organizations so we'll see if there's a way we can at least inhibit some of these non-government entities from doing illegal work for the federal government or for whoever. >> will: mr. attorney general i'd love to ask you one follow you'll to pete's question about
5:12 am
the tools at your disposal. we really appreciate you coming on and answering these questions , and i think we're all on the same side of hoping to solve what seems to be an impossible or maybe not impossible, an unwilling issue of the federal government to solve, and that is a few weeks ago, a month ago, you got in texas you declared the governor the declaration of an invasion. a vailing new powers in his statement for the state to deport illegal immigrants to the border. it was criticized by some like ken cucinelli, who said there's no point in taking somebody to the border. you have to take somebody across the border for it to be effective. what i would love to ask you today is a, your response to that and b, have you seen any appreciatable effect after you declared that invasion in helping this crisis? >> yeah, and it goes back to the challenge that i talked about. most of the people are not trying to evade border patrol. they are going directly to border patrol, so the idea of declaring an evasion is, it's a fact. i mean, it is and it should give
5:13 am
us the authority to do more. we have two challenges. one, the fact they are bringing people to the border but they are bringing them to border patrol which takes us out of the equation and second, we still have this supreme court decision, arizona vs. u.s. that was decided under under the obama administration that said the federal government had complete control over the border we need to challenge that so we're looking for angles where one of our state government officials whether it's the legislature or the . >> governor: for violates that, we get sued and then we can take it back up and say hey, that decision can't be right. it cannot be right that the federal government can have its own laws, avoid enforcing them and then say that the states can't protect themselves by availing themselves of the same law it doesn't make any sense because otherwise the federal government just passes laws and there's really no consequence other than to say now the states can't protect themselves. that can not be the right outcome. >> will: actively looking for that cans fusion all challenge. pete: attorney general of texas
5:14 am
ken paxton, thank you very much. merry christmas. when he was talking about that they were showing the images of the campfires people camping out waiting for title 42 to end across the border and what are texas dps supposed to jump in between the illegals and the border patrol and bring them over? like they want to be caught. rachel: of course. pete: so that means the federal government is facilitating as you've talked about the smugglers know that. rachel: by the way in el paso they said that people are coming out of man holes. i mean, it's just in credible the things that we're seeing happening and -- pete: where are these people going? where are they getting fed? where are they going to school? where are they getting healthcare? whose emergency rooms are they going to? >> will: everyone in america knows the answers to those questions. they're going everywhere and the reason i say everyone knows the answer to that question is you can anecdotally see it in your hometown. rachel: in your schools. in your schools as the class sizes get bigger, that certainly is happening and one last point.
5:15 am
those ngo's that ken paxton was talking about, they're getting richer with our tax dollars. this is a scam. they get richer. more voters come in, then some of the big donors -- pete: but they love people and you don't. rachel: right. pete: that's what they will tell you. it's a sham. rachel: it is a sham and by the way, child sex trafficking on the rise because of this policy. one thing that covid taught us is that when it comes to achiev ing their political and ideological goals, the democrats , the liberals are willing to sacrifice children. they are doing it in this policy they did it in covid. they are doing it all over the map. that's just what they do. >> will: turning now to your headlines we'll start with this beginning in chicago, two teens are dead and two others are in serious condition after shooting outside of a high school. the gunfire erupting just after dismissal sending panicked kids running and ducking for cover. police are pouring over

keeping and listening to all of the different current events and then it turned out between that day and the day that we had to leave the next day that they had appointed the vice president as president, and they arrested the president, so it seemed more stable at that point. they had a president and the president had tried to dissolve the congress, was under arrest, so we went ahead and headed out there, and we arrived on the 9th and we went to, so we arrived to kusco, which is the nearest town that has an airport, and then on the tenth and 11th we did our hike and then on the 11th we came back to kusco, and everything seemed fine, and we did a little tour on the 12th before the plane that we had to take on the evening of the 12th. when we got there, we had seen a little bit of peaceful protest before we left and i have a little video clip of that that i took. nothing major just looked like

evidence continues to link popular social media platform tiktok to the chinese communist party, and data is showing there's a harvesting push of many americans, including congressional lawmakers and for example, podcaster joe rogan and all of them together have called for a crackdown on tiktok. pete: donald trump said it in 2018-2017 we should ban tiktok but what is tiktok and how is it tied to the authoritarian regime today we're going off the wall to break it all down. so, you might know of tiktok because your teenager or 20- something is on there making dance videos or quick clips. it's a series of quick clips that can go viral very quickly based on an algorithm that is not disclosed to anyone. well it was launched by a company named bite dance in 2017 >> will: here is the important numbers for a quick overview of tiktok. 136 million americans use tiktok on average for 46 minutes a day. 70% of tiktok users are roughly

in that 14 i believe to 25 age range. pete: 2017 is when it started and if you go from 2017 to today and you have 2 billion users it gives you a sense of the explosion of tiktok. it bum rushed the scene. here is a detail that's really important. tiktok's not available in china. they have their own version inside china, which has called d oyan, they launched an alternative, that has a very different algorithm that shows very different things to chinese kids, so whereas the latest trend whether it's good or bad for kids, will pop-up in america , that's not what they see in china. they see what the state wants them to see on the state-run app >> will: so pete mentioned it. tiktok is owned by a company called bytedance. it was founded in 2012. reuters suggest it has a valuation of $78 billion. bytedance not only owns tiktok but it owns as pete pointed out a social media company named doy an in china, owns a social media company in

indonesia, in india. it has various social media platforms, really, ink across world. pete: they make most of their money on advertising, but the scale of what they created is what they are counting ongoing forward and certainly, more regulation in the united states on what they're able to do does hit their bottom line, bytedance paying a lot of attention to that. a big question is what we will talk about in the third wall here as well is what is the relationship between bytedance and the chinese communist party? well as we talk about all the time, if you're going to do business in china, especially if you're a chinese-started company , you have a relationship with the ccp, and you work in a friendly way with them at the very least. >> will: that's the main thing to takeaway here. if you do business in china you are in business with the chinese communist party. when it comes to bytedance it is official. the chinese communist party does own 1% of a subsidiary of bytedance, but that 1% really undercuts the influence the communist party has on this company. for example, the co-founder was forced out of the company under pressure from the chinese communist party as they
5:46 am
continued to exert pressure internally, pete, over big tech. pete: so what they say is only, it's 1% of the chinese version of tiktok that is owned by the ccp, the chinese communist party. they claim that 0% of bytedance is owned by the chinese communist party but again back to the big idea on this. anything doing business there is doing that bidding and you consider the amount of data they're collecting which we will go to next, that's why it's so powerful and problematic. >> will: and why it's so important to understand the role of the ccp when it comes to bytedance and infect tiktok. i want you to take a look -- pete: this is huge. >> will: on your kids. now some studies were done by researchers on how quickly this might happen. you join, create an anonymous account and within three minutes , these theoretical hypothetical created users were fed content that was suicidal. eight minutes, they were being fed content promoting, pushing towards, encouraging eating disorders. pete: same goes with transgender
5:47 am
rism or critical race theory. when you look at what type of content tiktok pushes in the united states, it's overwhelmingly not good for american teens because again , they control the algorithm. we don't even know the algorithm of twitter and facebook. inside tiktok, they create a maze that pushes certain content to the minds of american kids. we know they have a full spectrum warfare of you against the united states. why wouldn't you use social media to poison the minds of american kids? there's no reason they aren't doing that right now. >> will: we know the chinese have virtually admitted to being in a cold war with the united states and using all these tactics including pitting americans against one another. you put a lot of time into raising your kid. 45 minutes a day the chinese communist party gets to feed things like on the shallow end, mimicking tourette's syndrome, on the more serious end, racial conflict, political conflict, into your children. pete: here is a statement tiktok has given, explain explain

5:49 am
government devices. if you work for the state in any one of these states, you can't have tiktok on your phone. pete: again those are just government devices. think of the treasure trove of blackmail material the chinese communist party has against future generations of americans when they know what's on your phone, what you have been looking at. >> will: where you are. pete: it's like we've let them in the back door through these little phones that we let our kids look at. again i go back to what donald trump said. why are we allowing this at all in our country. that's where people should be standing. >> will: that's a conversation that is making its way to the forefront. pete: for sure. >> will: coming up we're cooking christmas dinner on fox square. their favorite festive dish is next. ♪ here comes santa claus, here comes santa claus, right down santa claus lane ♪ you get fifty dollars toward your home deductible. it's a policy perk for being a farmers customer.
