rachel: that's right. we're also learning more about the bureau's aggressive efforts to flag content after the 2016 election. pete: alexandria hoff joins us more live from washington with more. >> reporter: this comes from independent journalist matt tie yee buy who along with elon musk's blessing provided a deeper look into the kind of relationship formed. last night taibbi shared, quote: the task force created in the wake of the 2016 election swelled to 80 agents and corresponded with twitter to identify alleged foreign influence in election tampering of all kinds. according to taibbi, internal documents show they began to flag content for moderation. in one case an agent sent a list of names over to his, quote, twitter folks, one of them being alec baldwin's brother. twitter replied with its list of actions taken. note, mercy shown to actor billy baldwin. tie yee taibbi also dives into

an internal document where a legal executive wrote that the fbi had agreed to exchange classified information without impediment. he says this passage underscores the you week one big, happy -- unique one big, happy family vibe with the fbi's likely agreeing to no impediments to classified information. that's the question he's asking there. in response, the fbi shared this statement. quote: the fbi regularly engages with private sector entities to provide information specific to identify foreign malign influence actors, subversive, undeclared, covert or criminal activities. private sector entities independently make decisions about what, if any, action they take on their platforms and for their customers after the fbi has notified them. elon musk has been defending his position on free speech after suspending a handful of well known journalists who he says violated a new rule about a sharing individuals' realtime

locations. musk ran a poll asking twitter when he should unsuspend those users. musk followed up with the people have spoken, accounts who doxxed my location will have their suspension lifted now. in terms of the twitter files, the document dumps, they've been taking place for over two weeks now. yesterday musk signaled that they may be done for now. will, rachel, pete. rachel: alexandria, thank you so much. pete: yeah. and those revelations ended on, if they're over -- at least the sixth installment ended on the collusion between and the if coziness between twitter executives, content moderators and fbi -- will: can't imagine it's over though. pete: this can only be scratching the surface if considering this is just one social media company. who knows what jim baker and others deleted before -- will: and we really haven't moved into the time period of the biden administration yet. rachel: that's right. exactly. will: where we know it became so

popularly recognizable that they were censoring stuff about covid. it'll be interesting to see what kind of information about the war in ukraine, about january 6th, everything, what was censored later is going to be fascinating. rachel: but the irony that it was set up because of election interference in 2016 supposedly by the russians, and it ended up that the fbi was working with social media and the democrat party to interfere with our election. pete: they used a made-up ruse to do the real interference themselves. rachel: exactly. pete: let's bring in now representative kevin mccarthy, republican from california, house minority leader hoping to be the speaker. we'll ask you about that in a moment, mr. representative. thank you for being here. first, about the twitter files, what's your biggest takeaway? >> it's what we feared but it's even worse. when you look at government weaponizing businesses to go around the constitution the, to go after americans never giving that information, think of what

80 fbi agents could have done from human trafficking, from the kidnapping and other crimes they could have solved instead of going after people that those individuals had no recourse, had no ability to go back, didn't even know who was targeting them. but the next question drives even further, what about facebook? what about google? what about the 51 intel agents who signed a letter in regards to saying it was, saying it was russian collusion when it came to the hunter biden laptop right before an election? these are people that used to be the head of the cia, the clappers, the brennans, the hayden. remember what the head, hayden, had said. i'll paraphrase, he literally called republicans the greatest net of terrorism around the world. -- threat. that means going after you, me, your view ors, 40% of america. and they're using our own government to do it and hiding the fact. we would have never known this had it not been for elon musk

bringing it out. rachel: right. >> now what can we do with it? we're 17 days away from january if -- 3rd. we have a plan set for christopher wray to come in, merrick garland to come in and make these answers, from jim jordan to jamie comber, we've got to get our work going on the very first day. and that's why when you bring in the speak orership, we've got to move beyond this. the only shining light in the last two elections fighting government and everywhere else was the republicans in the house. we won both times when all the other republican entities have lost. we need to be able to have the strength to stop this biden agenda and get to the bottom of these and get the answers for the american public. will: i know you've made a pledge to subpoena those 51 intelligence agents you just mentioned that dismissedded hunter biden's laptop as russian disinformation. and i think i asked you this question with real hopefulness because i believe that the focus of the fbi is a political question, meaning priorities,

dictating where the fbi should be placing, for example, the attention of 80 agents. is there something you can do, is there something through the political process that can the actually hold in this instance, for example, the the fbi to account? >> very much so. their funding comes through us, their oversight comes through us. they lied in the process because, you know, i'm part of gang of eight. i've never heard that they had 80 agents going after american citizens. this is what we have to get to the bottom of. if you look at american history, we started something called the church investigation because of a senator when they had gotten out of control, these agencies, doing -- running amok. we have talked about internally. we have our oversight and accountability committee run by jamie comer, we have judiciary that has oversight of fbi with jim jordan. we've talked about a subset to go in. this is becoming so detrimental that they're using government

agencies, they're weaponizing american businesses at the same time to go after american citizens. we've got to turn the it on its head and get to the bottom of this. the number of whistleblowers that have come forward that worked in the fbi that have given us the information, we cannot delay and make sure that we can start on day one with the subpoenas and get the answers to the american public and make the changes needed to protect the american citizens. rachel: congressman, pete hegseth has on his arm a tattoo that says, we, the people. and right now i don't feel like our elections belong to we, the people. i believe that the fbi was interfering in our elections in 2020. i think that's so serious. and as you move into january 3rd, hopefully you will become the leader of the congress, what can you do to restore people's confidence? because if we don't -- if we believe that the fbi is working with social media and the democrat party to alter elections, to hide information so people don't have the right

information going into an election, this, i mean, we had four years of investigations over russia, so-called russian interfeerchlts what is going to happen? >> well, a number of things are going to happen. we have an entire plan. remember what they did when they weaponized the intel committee. no longer will adam schiff or eric swalwell serve on those committees. where they took a committee and made it political working -- this committee has the oversight of all these agencies, and they drove it. you've got those in the intel community, those 51, you've got them weaponizing every other social media not to play the new york post article when it came to hunter biden. and remember, this is in a short time frame right before an election. all of that has to come forth. to know the truth so it never happens again. and then follow the truth to put in any safeguards to make sure our elections, that this can never happen again, that the american public gets all the information, and they can make

their own decision so we, the people, control what is happeningment. pete: it's incredibly important. rachel's exactly right. real quick, the d.c. beltway press is abuzz about will kevin mccarthy be the next speaker. we're told there are five or six members of the republican caucus that are the holdouts and they're demanding motion to vacate which means they could try to vote the speaker out at any time. what's the status of the negotiations inside the caucus? how confident are you right now? >> i'm very confident. look, i've been leader for four years. in the battle that we just had for the last two election cycles, we've won the majority. we're going to be able to stop biden's agenda. we have the majority and we fired nancy pelosi. now we've got to get our work going. the challenge here is what they want is a motion to vacate means empowering everybody. eric swalwell could come to the floor every today to challenge whether the speaker can stay in the or not. we need to be able to have the strength to do the job is, to

look into places that they're not going to want us to look into, to have the subpoenas to be able to move out, to be able to secure our board or. here we are just a few days away from title 42 being liftedded. if we don't get the speaker situation situated now, we're delayed in all these plans and actions. we want to have hearings down along the border so the entire country knows what's happening, and the democrats can no long or hide from it. the cameras can show the president if he won't come down there. we'll have the power of the purse, the appropriation process. what the senate is doing today with an omnibus is wrong. pete: yeah. >> they're empowering -- pete: why is mitch mcconnell doing that? rachel: have you called him? >> not only have i called him, he's got two senates over there that will not -- no longer be in office in 17 days writing this. what we spend on the very beginning, $100 billion more than what's now. they're going to lock in democrat wokism. when you can wait 17 days and we

could have more power. you know what we can do in appropriation bills? we can put legislation in that changes and secures our border, helps us become energy independent, lets parents have a say in their kids' education. watch what we are able to do the when we first after the election to lift the vaccine mandate for our military, to make sure the parents at dod schools have a say in their kids' curriculum. we have shown from the if very beginning after this election some of the victories we can have. why would we lock anything in with the democrats? and think about in the, the democrats control the house, the senate and the presidency. they didn't do their job. why would the republicans help hem do their job now before we have a stronger hand to play and the gavel in 17 days? pete: it's true. it's insane that mitch mcconnell would rather work with nancy pelosi than house republicans on an omnibus bill, locking things in while they still have control. rachel: it explains a lot -- pete: it does. rachel: -- about what happened during the trump rules, frankly,

with mitch mcconnell. will: congressman mccarthy, thank you for being with us. rachel: we wish you luck. all right. pete: yeah. it's mind-blowing. love what you said about election interference. i was just at an event in california with a bunch of grassroots conservatives, each one of them demoralized. yes, we want to look forward, but if we can't protect our ballot, if it's been stolen from us, how demoralizing that it won't happen in the future? rachel: and how different is it from the chinese or russians interfering in our election? if our own agencies are interfering in our election. it's supposed to be for the people. i don't understand why there's not more outrage in the country over this. where do we go to get that election back? will: from outrage to holiday cheer -- [laughter] rachel: sorry. i wish we had a better transition here. pete: now for christmas cheer. earlier this morning santa claus himself went skydiving for operation toy drop. you didn't know, kids, he could do it.

♪ pete: the white house insists it ises preparing for the end of title 42 set to happen in just four days, but they won't say how they're going to do it. it's some sort of a secret plan. this after a federal appeals court denied to extend the policy. will: and the biden administration is claiming anyone who says the border is open is helping mug hers and

spreading disinformation -- smugglers. rachel: here to react, democrat texas congressman henry cuellar. congressman, welcome. merry christmas. we're glad you're here, it's the perfect today to have you. you've come on and defied your party to expose the fact that the border is open. are you helping smugglersesome. [laughter] -- smugglers? >> absolutely not. look, you know, what we need to do is to address what's happening, the reality down can here. i don't just come visit the border, i live here, i know what's happening down here along the border. i spend a lot of time talking to our men and women in green and blue and other city officials, county officials, and the border is open. and once title 42 goes away, i've been told that there's more than 50,000 people and more, counting, that are waiting for this title 42 to go away so they can come in, into the united states. that will -- i will tell you that next week is going to be very challenging and very

chaotic. pete: congressman, it does not appear that the administration has ever had a plan, let alone a plan for this. the big question for me is the why question. what is the why as to why they are the willing to leave the border open and facilitate illegality? >> you know, i, i think that's a question you've got to ask 'em. i've tried to get that answer from them, asking them when is when? that is, you know, how far do you go allowing people in. look, i understand the asylum laws, but i understand that as a country we can have an orderly, a pathway for people to come in and ask for asylum, not just cross the river. so let's say the administration comes up with a move next week where asylum seekers have to to come through a bridge, and they come in between bridges, then they should be sent back. a rule like that will actually, if they enforce it, that type of policy would be very helpful. will: so, congressman, just to

follow up on that question, your answer, i appreciate that question needs to be asked of the administration because the motivations lie within. but you probably have some ideas. you probably have some speculation as to why they are doing this. and just to build upon that to your question as well, what inflection point is the action point? when is enough enough? if you were trying to answer those questions, what is the why and when is enough? >> yeah. and i've asked that the questions many a times. i think the white house has a particular thinking that leans more to the immigration activists, but who's listening to the men and women in green and blue? who's listening to the border communities that i represent? and i think, and i'll say this as i've said more than once, they need to let homeland security do its job. will: all right. congressman henry cuellar, we appreciate your perspective on this and joining us this morning on "fox & friends."

will: another twitter dump, the sixth installment highlights the fbi's social media-focused task force created in the wake of the 2016 election, and it swelled -- pete: swole is what happens when you lift weights. [laughter] rachel: we're also a learning that the tech the giant held weekly meetings with the fbi, dhs,, the oj and the dni officials. pete: host of unfiltered, dan bongino, has watched it swell, he also gets swole, he's a pretty big dude. [laughter] good morning, thanks for being here. what's your take? 80 agents might just be the beginning, might be just only what we know of. >> oh, this is unquestionably just the beginning, and it's unquestionably not just twitter either which i'll go into on my show tonight. i'll get to that in a second. but i had two big takeaways from

twitter files, drop six. number one, i was a federal agent, so i'm intimately familiar with the process. you have to understand when you're acting on behalf of the secret service, the dea or the fbi, it is the assumed, assumed that, obviously, you are acting on behalf of the united states government, right? that's what your commission book says. it's that flip you -- thing you flip if open, fbi, secret service with the badge attached. so if you're acting on behalf of the united states government, there are constraints on what you can do. those constraints are limited by, you know, the constitution. the constitution's a document of negative powers, what the government can't do to you. so it's no longer a question. so let's stop stop the shenanigans and the bs and stop wasting anybody's time that this is a clear first amendment violation and presidentially criminal if you look -- can potentially criminal if you rook at that -- if you look at that piece in the "wall street journal." this conspiracy to violate people's civil liberties.

you understand this may be criminal. so, again, there's no longer a question this is a first amendment issue. the liberals can stop your whining and wetting your diapers and stuff. we now know that for a fact. the only question is the extent of it. remember, the fbi to do this kind of stuff, guys, has a process. there's rules of evidence, there are criminal trials. you can't just willy-nilly go to private companies and go, take this down. this isn't north korea. one other point, and i think i heard rachel mention it before, or pete as well. isn't it supremely ironic that the fbi invents the russia hoax, then uses the russia hoax from 2016 as a pretext to interfere again in 2020, going to social media companies going, hey, russia interfered in our election, the last one, so we're going to interfere in this one because what was made-up about the russians the last time in the last one with. pete: it's amazing. >> we 'em lated the soviet union. -- emulated. it's like this is a bad mystery

novel. rachel: yeah. i mean, it's just no different than when, you know, the chinese interfered in our election or if the -- in fact, it's worse. i expect the chinese to try and interfere with my elections. i expect the russians to try it. i don't expect our fbi or our intelligence agency or dhs to interfere in our elections. this is such a betrayal of the american citizens. i don't even -- my head is just about to explode. >> no, you just kind of really hit the nail on the head there. this is absolutely far worse. we expect, of course, geopolitical foes to insert their intelligence people to try to screw with our country. none of that's new, it's been going on since the inception of sentient beings. i get that. and it's not just the fbi or the, the ni, director or national intelligence. the dhs and the pfbi were using the weaponized powers of the american government to interfere in multiple elections? it's got to be the biggest election scandal of our time.

that's bacon on top which makes it off the chart because her husband, todd the, our friend the car guy, he always insists on a side of bacon. rachel: that's pretty amazing. pete: they go together. if. >> off the chart, right? speaking of bacon, yesterday i showed this because, you know, things are very expensive. prime rib is $25 a pound. so why not rather than prime rib year make an entree like this that is so pretty, everybody's going to take a picture of it. it is not only budget-friendly, it's beautiful. st called grandma's braided bacon meatloaf 2.0, and so many people asked how we made it because we showed it yesterday, and will's trying it right now, we'll get the review in a second. i put together a video to show you exactly how to make it, and it is so simple. watch. that meatloaf is too pretty to cut, but when you do, off the chart delicious. kathy and i have been perfecting my grandma's recipe for 35 years, and it's amazing.

and there it is, it's on page 232 of our simply happy -- # 2 -- 222 of our simply happy cookbook. the bacon makes it beautiful and, you know what? st simple to make. let's start by sauteeing onions and garlic million brown and set that aside. in a large bowl, mix together ketchup, a couple of eggs, a1 sauce, worcester sauce, a cup of bread crumbs, a can of diced chill lees and then the -- chiles and mix it together. time for the meat. we use a beef, veal, pork blend and mix that together into a big meatball. place that into a baking dish and form a loaf. now grab your bacon and lay out some parchment paper. time to make bacon weave.

how cool is that? now in a small bowl mix together ketchup, light brown sugar and smoked paprika and pour that glaze onto the bacon. then take the weave and place right on top of the loaf. just like this. heat the oven to 350 and place inside about 90 minutes until it's done. how great is that? now make sure you take some pictures before you dig in. this is so good. and the reason we're featuring that a, it's a great thing for you to make on christmas or new year's,st budget-friendly. but it's delicious -- rachel: you don't feel like you're skimping at all. it's wonderful. >> not at all. people go, wow, look how easy -- pete: you said take some photos, steve. we actually made it in our house, i think we have a photo of my wife jen with the braided
