out every week day don't forget to follow unfiltered on facebook instagram, at unfiltered on fox that does it for us on "unfiltered" see you back here next saturday night 9 p.m. don't forget to set your dvr if you can't make it live ♪ ♪ lawrence: good evening america welcome to cross country we have a big show for you tonight and exclusive investigation for a visit to new york. but first we get to that before we get there we begin with another fox news alert out of brevard county, florida more than 50 teachers and staff are quitting their jobs due to horrific violence and student misconduct. teachers are being assaulted,
1:01 am
and bitten. their investigations of bullying, drug use, and theft. a recent district meeting offered a glimpse into the disturbance state of these classrooms, you have to watch this. >> many schools we have egregious maifers we have students committing assault battery and on other student and elopement throwing of octobers sexual harassment and misconduct spitting, biting destruction of property drug use and theft occurring on daily basis throughout our county. lawrence: unbelievable. tonight i'm joined by a panel of brevard county school staff members. gene trengt and earnest thank you so much for joining me. >> alicia i want to go to you first you've been dloang for 19 years. what is the state of these classrooms?
1:02 am
it's scary it's not like it used to be and kids know there's not any consequences so they're not afraid, and it's just -- it's for me personally it is scary every day beginning to work. >> i want to follow-up with you when you say scary -- what is the classroom like? what are you seeing what is being done to you? >> we have about 20 kids and two extreme behaviors in the classroom, and those take most of our attention. i am deflecting being attacked, scratched -- she's students have gone for my throat. pulled my hair -- thrown me against the wall. and it's everyday occurrence right now. lawrence: this is assault. ernest you say that you need more control in the classroom.
1:03 am
so who's preventing that from happening? >> yes. well -- i think myself, i think it's the laws that own the books. that what a teacher can do and what a teacher cannot do a teacher need more control over their classroom. okay -- say for instance when you get a child that walk out the class a without permission. don't allow them back in the classroom. >> ernest, where are the parents? i mean, this is a direct reflection of what's happening in the household. i was more afraid of going home if i would do something like this. of what my parents would do to me if i did this to a teacher. >> well, see that go right back to the state again. because what the state do, the state tell the parents they
1:04 am
kids, the kids come to school undisciplined, unsupervised and they expect them to teach -- teacher to teach their kid and to raise their kid. the school is not -- the school is not a baby-sitter. they are not there to baby-sit your kid. they are there to train and teach your kid. okay, and this is where the state need to step in and change some law when these kids act up the way they do in class you sending them back home to parents and give parents enough team to come see to get their child. if they don't come that's when you sent sheriff deputy and conduct come in and you have to change it whereas these parents held more responsible. lawrence: we're going talk to the sheriff in just a moment and post some of those questions to him as well.
1:05 am
but gene i have to get use in. you're on the board. what is the board saying about this? because you guys very elected to not only represent people, the students but these teachers as well. >> yes, we are lawrence, and i don't know if you know but this is a new board. we flipped the board in november, and i truly believe that's why we're now hearing about all of the horror stories that are in, within our classroom pps i don't believe brevard is any different than any county in our state or country. i believe this is really like the me too movement of education. now, teachers are comfortable coming out and talking because of the makeup of our board so we need to provide the safest environment for our children to learn, and we're going to do everything legally that we can do and that's what we've started here in brevard county.
1:06 am
what you plan to do i want to read this statement from the school district hoping that you can shed some light on it. this is what they said behavior and discipline is important to our school board and that is why they have begun focusing even more time and energy on the topic. it is a conflict issue that deserving input from our entire community an important to note that behavior involves more than just the actions and attitudes of students. it also involves the actions and attitudes of staff, and families. our goal as a school district will always be to provide the best learning environment possible and we call on everyone in our community to help make that happen. we can do that if each person vows to treat each student each employees, and these family with respect and decency. wilding themselves accountable for their own actions. and i'm sorry, sir, it looks like they're victim blaming. because i don't see a lot of images of the students being bitten. i don't see image being released of bruising on the students.
1:07 am
i see it on the teachers. but they want to equally -- place the blame on the teachers as well. why is that? >> well that's unfortunate lawrence, and we woangts put up with that. this is not students on students misbehavior or violence that we're talking about here. this is bus drivers getting hit in the back of the head with a water bottle this is teachers being bitten, choked, we will not allow this to happen. this is not, then -- something that just come up overnight. we have found out that our teachers union has been asking our district to handle or to address these issues not this year not last year, but many years and it just has not work out that way trust me when i say i'm not always the fan of the teachers union. but in this case, we're all aware of what's going on and we in this new school board we're just not going to allow this to
1:08 am
continue. >> what dow to see happen right now? >> well, in extreme situations i feel like there needs to be some sort of of emergency plan there are federal laws that protect our children and they need to protect you feel our children and all of our staff so that there's a safe learning environment for our kids. and the kids should feel safe and secure at school. staff should feel safe and secure at school. so if it's a matter of, you know, we have to go by federal guidelines but there's got to be help and extreme circumstances as soon as possible. >> alicia we have the photos of the abuse that you've endured i don't understand how you're teaching but thank you all for what you do. hopefully we can get some anxiouses for you we go on to brevard county sheriff wayne ivy here tonight sheriff this seems like a lawyer and order issue.
1:09 am
this is assault, my first job was working in juvenile justice. there's laws on the books. so why is anarchy happening in the town? >> so, here's what we found as we peel back the layers of this onion what we have found is that there's policies in place within our district. they have not allowed the assistant principals an principal and teachers to enforce those potses -- policies to sheriff office is not in the discipline business but making sure our schools are safe and from active shooters and criminal acts. but what's happening is -- the glin issue is now blurry the lines they're crossing over into the criminal side of it. it is crossing over into assault and putting teachers and good students at risk. and it is not coming to us. so what you heard gene trent said they will not tolerate that you're seeing law enforcement you're seeing school board,
1:10 am
unions, everybody is partner together now to say enough is enough. it is a brand new day. students are going to come to school they're going behave they're going to have an opportunity to learn. and if they can't if they're acting like clowns in class then they and parents can keep them at home parents need to get involved we need to reempower parents let them be the chief law enforcement officer in their child's life if they're not schools will take to act but policies are in place. they need to unhandcuff the principals and teachers and let them do their jobs. >> sheriff, you know you're the elected official but you know what's happening on the ground who is preventing the educators from taking the next step? because we've got to get rid of those people that are there because as you said laws are in the book, policies are in place so -- who was impeding them? who are they? >> well, we already took steps to get rid of some of those on the board that were doing that as gene said. school board -- >> the previous school board they were not empowering the
1:11 am
school district was holding them hostage and not letting them do their job and not just teachers. bus drivers were not being allowed to do their jobs. we have i think somebody said 80 bus routs only 50 bus drivers. that's how bad this is -- >> sheriff i don't mean to cut you off but you heard me read that statement from the school district somebody, someone is leading the district is still there. that is tone deaf that is -- that once shared blame when you have teachers that are being bitten -- so there's still a bad apple there. is it the superintendent -- the assistance suggest who are these people? >> well, the superintendent is no longer in play. the new board took care of that. they just actually put a new interim superintendent in, it starts very soon here. look, the reality of this is -- as you said this is not about victim blaming. the teachers are victims. they're not to blame here. principals are victims they're not to blame here and put blame
1:12 am
on somebody there's two places or three places it goes. kids that are acting up. parents that aren't holding them account able and school district that's where the blame goes and quite frankly it's time for parents to hold their kids accountable make sure they're coming to school for the right reasons. the first thing this new school board has done is starting first of the year no cell phones allowed in the courtroom guess what there's always been a policy that products that but it was not never enforce sod we're going step up and enforce and i say we collectively -- the school board, the unions all of us are working together to present a model that is going to make a difference. >> sheriff, maybe i'm too texan but looks like kids need their ass spanked maybe that would do difference in that. >> and i said this in the video release that we did these kids don't fear in school suspensioner a getting suspended or expelled and they don't fear of getting cheeks of their ass torn off --
1:13 am
lawrence: that's right. >> parents need to hold their kids accountable good kids coming to school with willing to learn and teachers passion in and about creating future and leaders they deserve a safe environment to teach in and collectively going make sure that happens. lawrence: sheriff i have breaking news thank you for join megasir going to another fox alert sharon osbourne suffering a medical emergency while shooting tv show. first responders in ventura kngts, california got the call around 6:30 p.m. last night. but so far details are limited. entertainment reporter and friend lauren conlin you're always plugged in. what can you tell us about this? >> i'm plugged in from michigan lawrence so look what we know about sharon right now is that it's not life-threatening. that is what her rep is reporting. now, also sharon osbourne is no stranger to health emergencies. and health crisis so she's been
1:14 am
taking care of her husband ozzie parkinson's disease for a very long time and had neck surgery in july and sharon herself she went through a double mastectomy and colon cancer tbhak back in 2002 so this woman is probably exhausted. she works very hard she's 70 years old clearly hosting shows appearing on fox news and -- among other networks so i'm hoping that she just need to rest and take it easy for a while. you know? lawrence: lauren she's had a tough one too all of her friends turned against her. seems like corporate executive turned against her. she's exhausted on many levels probably emotionally as well but glad to hear it is nots life-threatening. >> yes not life-threatening, and you're correct. let's not forget she was fired from the view in 2021 after getting into an argument with her co-host sharon underwood that kind of turned into a race
1:15 am
war, and sharon was so concerned that she would be looked at as racist that she kind of just flew off the handle and said what she said and that got her in trouble. i think sharon is a fire cracker i'm behind her we know she's not racist. imrowr you're right she's emotionally exhausted. >> we're rooting for her we hear that she was taping the show -- hopefully things go well for sharon. we send her all of the best thanks for being political and giving latest on it. thank you. >> of course lawrence you look older by the way. [laughter] >> i'm getting old -- so coming up, new surveillance video in the hunt for a killer in idaho. what police are now asking people to look out for. plus -- after mongts of training a very important visitor has made her way to the big apple. don't miss it, queen nala is here.

with qualifying internet. welcome back so new developments in moscow, idaho where authorities are still on the hunt for whoever carried out last month brutal quadruple homicide. a local property owner turned over surveillance video showing a white car drive by around time of the murders. but it is unclear if it is the hyundai elintra police are
1:20 am
trying to track down true crime blogger known as chronicle of olivia. olivia what is your theory when it comes to this case? because the public is still trying to get some sort of answers. >> uh-huh. in terms of my theory personally, i believe it was someone that knew the layout of the home. someone who possibly is acquaintance or -- knew them personally that's just the feeling that i get from this. lawrence: tell me this -- where are all of these tips because you know, they keep telling us they're processing but doesn't look like they're giving us any information when you look at the hyundai they keep telling us stock image no license plate this is not the actual car. so it is kind of hard to says you know if this is the person that did it or give the public something to run on. >> i mean i'm not exactly sure the origins of that vehicle.
1:21 am
i do believe that investigators have a reason why that came to their attention. but i do think that the general public can help find this vehicle and just find it behind videos or through surveillance just like the gas station employee who was looking through hours and hours of footage and came across the white car in the backyard zooming by around 3:45 a.m. in the morning. i feel that possibly this could help break the case someone who either is an employee working somewhere or locals, the internet sleuths possibly could help. >> do you think that a lot of the social media folks even folks like you are going to help break this case? and i wouldn't say it is too far off because we've heard from victim's families that they've been ones that have been altering timeline providing a lot of electronic data to police
1:22 am
and they've been correcting it. >> i think it's beneficial internet sleuthing a double edge sword i believe that it has its pros and cons when i was in moscow, idaho for a week about two weeks ago, i interviewed jeremy one of the neighbors, and he had an interview that went viral and a lot of people on the internet were just kind offing drag him through the mud and he was being almost cyberbullied and i intoak him and he appeared to be innocent, and i think that with internet sleuthing sometime there's a negative aspect to it where individuals who eventually are innocent are targeted and their whole lives are picked apart. but -- lawrence: it is so true we went cross country on the ground to talk to jeremy as well and they was one of the individuals that offered up his dna to police just to get cleared after his interview went viral. so you're right it can go both
1:23 am
ways on this. olivia thank you so much for joining moan the program tonight. >> no problem, thank you for having me on. lawrence: thank you. and joining me now is father of kaylee steve goncalves as well as family attorney shannon grey. steve thanks so much for join the program again. i made a promise to you that -- our audience would stay on this case and not let this case die. we have a cooling off period last week at a respect for law enforcement. bring the temperature down a little bit, what new can you tell us steve? i know we have this new surveillance video released by digital team today. what can you tell us? >> that film -- to the family we've had that film for a while. i believe the business reached out to us directly, and after they had given it to the police so it was kind of comfort to us because it's just two girls having a good time talking
1:24 am
about, you know, asking about their bar tender and just being girls on their way to the grub truck. >> yeah so you don't sthapt this guy adam this stated in the video is somehow a suspect or anything like that. you guys have known about this video for a while. >> we have, and we asked and we did the obvious due diligence when we looked into that and we were pretty -- it was pretty clear that this individual was not a part of the investigation as far as the suspect. lawrence: coif what can you tell us as far as the investigation, car, details being released as well. is there anything that we can do to get some answers for you guys so we can get this suspect whoever it is in custody. >> they've kind of informed us through communications that this
1:25 am
they've checked all of the easiest paths so like if this individual had this coverage straight to his name and it was something very quick that they could look up in the area and go right to his house they've done due diligence there and all of that so now reaching out and they're going look to the community, see if this individual borrowed this car. you know, it doesn't appear that it's something that they have real easy access to so he may have ranked and pushed narrative saying we can get these guys to focus on something that's really helpful which is this car -- and you know, find out if somebody says hey you know what, that car -- that looks a lot like mine, i'm going to come forward and just volunteer my information, and then, you know, they can figure out if somebody else had borrowed it or if it heck who knows. >> steve we talked about this off air. but one of the reason why is i want to bring this up is because i think it is critical to this investigation.
1:26 am
these a lot of these young people were teenagers and there may have been some elicit activity that was minor that they would have gotten in trouble for and it may be preventing them from coming forward. what can you tell these young people to kind of motivate them to give up some answers don't worry about all of the petty stuff four innocent lives were lost here. >> yeah. i want kids to understand that this is such a big case that that -- these guys guys have their hande full. i wanted to go out there to tell everyone we support we support the local police officers so much so that we want them to be able to work on this case. i know that this is way over the normal workload that they normally have plus they have patrols. they have to patrol now this guy is not caught. so -- you know there was some rumors that i -- called these officers a coward that was not for these officers. that was for lawyer that was
1:27 am
standing in between what the lawyers what the officers would like release and what is actually being released. and i called that individual, and this was just about coming forward saying that the profile is a male. you know, i feel like at a month we could rule that that's not going to hurt the case. it is pretty clear even -- you know the coroner said it was a very strong individual two people had defensive wounds overpowered those people so i'm trying to steer the conversation into a way so i have another -- person who is going to school there. and i don't him walking around those streets if it is not safe. so -- you know, we know as a family what we're looking for, and you know if they see an individual looking a certain way i'm telling my kids you know, steer clear of that. i want other families to know -- >> steve this is your i'm sorry to interrupt you brother but this is your first christmas without kaylee. how are you doing? how's your family doing?
1:28 am
>> to be honest we're not even really going to have a christmas because you just can't. you can't get yourself there to where it would make sense. one of my children the youngest one is going to go stay with some families because they're going to have the normal type christmas and she deserves that. but for us -- we can't do that. it's too close to our heart, and how do you have a celebration like this when -- you lost two of your favorite people in the world. >> yeah. brother, we continue to pray for your audience as well thank you so much for joining the program. >> thank you, sir. glawrns so coming up, want to know how bad homeless crisis is getting in los angeles? the city's new mayor just declared a state of emergency she's a democrat. the details next

lawrence: democrats may be finally admitting there's a catastrophe going on in los angeles but is it too little too late newly sworn in mayor karen bass declared a state of emergency on first day in office. and attempt to combat the city spiraling homeless crisis. this comes after years of dem run cities trying to brush deadly problems under the rug
1:33 am
fox news contributor author of the wise man who found christmas ramon joining me with the pleats so sheeted to see the city council 113-0 vote is this just a pr stunt. what does chef to gain? on the surface is sounds like mayor bass is doing state of emergency what this is really sb loosening restrictions so she can build 3,000 about units of homeless shelters and when you have a state of emergency lawrence, federal dollars come pour manager that's what this is about but when i talk to law enforcement in los angeles, people on the frontlines of the homeless crisis, they will tell you this is a drug issue predominantly saw that walking the streets but you go to venice beach there's drugged out homeless people in front stoops of homes next to schoolhouses. that's not supposed to happen but as sheriff villanueva told both of us, they're not enforcing the law. >> raymond he lost.
1:34 am
i did -- we did so many stories they're on the ground he was trying to clean it up. >> he was and he's a democrat. and they sent him packing. >> right he was out now new sheriff in town the problem is she's focused on the money, and building shelters and here's the other thing. she mentioned i guess in an interview -- that she would like to take a -- plot of land in lancaster, california. 70 miles north of larntion she wants to sending homeless there to yesterday -- the people in lancaster the mayor there declared a state of emergency against mayor bass. lawrence: are you serious? >> they don't want homeless coming into los angeles homeless coming into their city. you don't dump your problems somewhere else. you deal with them. and this is a drug crisis. this is a homeless crisis, that has been allowed and tolerated for years. and you remember we went there when you went i went in -- urntiond the interstates is where a lot of homeless people shelter because it is federal
1:35 am
land or state land, and the city can't touch them. >> you know raymond this hopelessness this poverty, crime, this homeless problem -- it's not just in l.a. in all of these liberal cities and your hometown, new orleans. >> my gosh. lawrence: now the murder capitol what's going wrong? >> about to be murder capitol again and 275 homicides and mayor is now in a standoff with the city council she wants to appoint her new new orleans police chief without the city counsel input. she has until january 1st when a new law kicks in in the city council will have to be consulted. so i expect she's going to probably appoint somebody already on the police force, they want to city council would like national search. that's what new orleans really needs. i mean, lawrence, you're going much more to cover in the new year we have a tourist man from st. louis his wife watched him get beat to death in the hotel room. somebody knocked on the door in the middle of the night killed
1:36 am
him a police employee she's an über driver at night stabbed the guy said i just woke up and i knew i wanted to kill somebody today. we've got to address what's happening in the cities and drugs and evil is loose and we have to somehow address this and restore public safety. >> she doesn't want to do an interview we tried to work the mayor any time -- we'll bring whole crew there. i'll even buy her lunch and we can come up with a plan of action. but as all of these liberal cities they avoid us because they don't want to be held accountable ray monday thank you for tips and letting us know what's happening on the ground we'll keep filing brother. thank you, brother. coming up the latest fallout from multibillion dollar cryptocollapse and what this could mean for the world of tech. plus i've got some exciting news about cross country very own queen nala that's coming up.

1:42 am
madoff when they have a brokerage moving money between him and stolen money totally illegal there's laws against that he's faces 100 years in jail if he did what he did he'll spend a long tile in jail. >> joe do you think more people knew about this and just went along and they thought because they bought, you know, all of the democrat politicians and then the squishy republicans that they would get away with it? >> i don't think people necessarily knew that he was committing fraud but few around him must have known and face consequences too and trying to get off by helping feds against him that's probably what's going on here. but you know listen, i mean people are they see something going up they all want to be and friends in miami and palm beach like joe this guy -- you should come meet him he's doing thawfl stuff all of a sudden out of nowhere worth $30 billion and i've been in technology for two decades and people tech billionaire who is built companies due to take ten,

15, 20 years idea of getting retch that fast worth that much that quickly you have to be skeptical imh you see that. lawrence: it was a red flag for you. average huge red flag listen, there's really important innovations in the cryptoworld i'm not a cryptoguy per se but i did buy bitcoin as amazing people involve there had the idea of decentralizing not getting a lot of power to central government that's something a lot of us who are proliberty and most what's happening with cryptolast few years was centralize stuff it was ponzi schemes and a lot of nonsense it was people speculating there's a lot of easy money in the world. they want to be part of it. not unexpected there's big messes in it. j there's no easy way of making money. >> you work hard you know that. i'm trying brother -- what do you think needs to happen to this guy because you know i'm not look i don't to retaliation but i think a example does need to be made, i mean, there was some people
1:44 am
that -- invested their money and they didn't have much but they invested little that they had and now they're screwed they're not going to get that money back. >> listen and they're rightly angry it is totally unfair a lot of people lost a lot of their livelihood in this. whether or not there was speculative thing it is looks like they were defrauded right so that's against law should go to jail. listen i don't agree with elizabeth warren that you -- she's always want a government to have infinite power or everything and warrantless reports on the whole sector as excuse to go in and wipe it out and put a government in charge of everything and, obviously, you have to be careful it is you have a healthy response in terms of regulation. this is already illegal right so let's punish them for what was already illegal and have a fair trial. >> only way to get justice is can't have retribution in that way as well. thanks so much for coming on program and taking a break off your little vacation -- >> no problem. good to see you man. up next headed to srk kicking off across country

we spoke with parents and teachers from across the country and it is no secret we're facing an education crisis in america. from the nation largest cities to the smallest towns, i want to bring you to one of those small towns bauman, south carolina where a councilman named carter decided to take matters into his own hands he reach out to fox news in response he saw about literacy lab the problem he saw impacted his own community people like ike that may be the change we need to get our nation's children the help they deserve. so let me introduce you to him. watch. >> so sir, tell me about the vibe of the town with what's happening with the education system, and the hopelessness little poverty. >> well i think -- education is changed where people in the education system administrator and people have kind of taken a attack that
1:50 am
parents should not be involved. my opinion is that parents are integral the education of a child starts at birth with the parents being involved. and we have so much issues of children like single family, single parent families, and poverty in this area in bauman and a lot of times i don't think people really look at the numbers of people that are not literate. >> someone from town born and raised and grew you hear literacy rate is it so great how does that make you feel? >> actually it makes me feel terrible this is my home this is where i grew and where i lived and i've been mad at it sometimes and other times i'm in love with it right now i'm in love with it and trying my best to contradict as a councilman along with mayor and other council people to do what we can. but as you go up the ladder, there's a lot of road blocks. you heard about what -- >> what is the catalyst? >> it could be this today. you put this on the news and
1:51 am
