saying. pass them quicker. there is too much here. mayor adams, gavin newsom, everybody else, mayor lightfoot, just give us money we'll deal with it. will: this is coming at time budget deficit in the places, people moved out of new york, san francisco. jobs have left as well. their tax base is deteriorated. they're looking budget deficits, how do we cover mta, how do we cover mass transit? this is state of emergency. we know money. pete: none of those democrat politicians are talking about actual solution gets rid of incentives. california is the sank wear of states of sanctuary states, as is new york city. that is so important, el paso, democratic mayor. not saying build the wall. empower the border patrol to deport people, remain in mexico. help us move 48 hours, because we can't push them out fast enough.

private property is taken very seriously, rightfully so i don't know what the eminent domain laws are. with a state of emergency it makes i would argue it might make a lot of sense for a state to be able to build a wall even through private property, i say that not knowing the local dynamics. ultimately if you own the land, hard to build on it. sounds like they made progress in some negotiations. but not build the wall. will: individual decision for each one of the property owners. in this case you allow in this case it would be the state of texas to build a wall on your property. you have to have easements to get in and out to fix the wall. before you know it your property doesn't feel so private anymore. i'm not saying that is not the right decision, it is easy on a couch in new york city, i will not totally do that i don't know how many acres. each and everyone is private. rachel: i read an article about a landowner basically said, listen i bought this property because i like looking out at

♪. rachel: the biden administration insists it is prepared for the end of title 42 on wednesday but our next guest, the wife of a texas border patrol agent disagrees. she says no one is ready for what is really coming. kelsey french joins us now to explain. thanks for joining us this morning. i can't think of anything more interesting than to speak to a spouse who truly knows what not just your husband but so many of his colleagues are going through as well. so you say they're not prepared. what has your husband and his colleagues told you about what they expect to happen come

wednesday? >> i mean it is just common knowledge that the numbers are going to increase substantially. anybody that can, that is paying attention can see the people sleeping on the sidewalks in el paso. our agents are being sent to eagle pass already. i imagine we'll have less agents here in del rio to protect us here the surrounding areas. rachel: we've looked at some estimations what we think could happen. as of wednesday, expectation of 14,000 per day. 420,000 per month that would be over five million per year. how do you feel as a spouse that joe biden and kamala harris have not yet gone to the border to see what your house has to go through? >> i mean it is just willful ignorance at this point. you know, if they come down here they have to admit there is actually a problem and they have to be held accountable.

so, i think they just ignore it at all costs. rachel: yeah. i want to bring this up, 24-year-old james elling, the border patrol agent died trying to rescue an illegal migrant out of the colorado river. he was only 24 years old. but also kelsey, we have 14 border patrol agent committed suicide this year, which is a record number. what do you make of that? why do you think that is happening? >> i mean, you're enticing all these people to come and they're so desperate. we have so many tragic situations that our agents are exposed to on a daily basis. i think people ignore that. they just don't realize how taxing this job is on them every single day and they take that home with them and it is just, you know, men have a hard time i think expressing any kind of emotion. so for them to have to live with that every single day.

it is just compounded, i just don't think that they're given a fair chance really. rachel: yeah. it is something we don't think enough about, the trauma, the traumatic things they see every day. the lack of support from our federal government. accusations of racism that come the way of border patrol agents just doing their job. it really highlights the importance of a spouse as you said. some of these agents are men who don't express their emotions the way some of us women do. so, kelsey, thank you for what you do. you're on the force as well in some ways. we appreciate you joining us this morning, giving us a little bit of a insight and a view into what it is like to be a border patrol agent and border patrol agent family. >> merry christmas to you. pete: well-done, rachel. good to hear from you. a few headlines.
