4:09 am
there are a number of people in your republican caucus who are balking at the size of the amount of money the united states has extended to ukraine now, if they go ahead with $45 billion in this omnibus, that will push our investment over $100 billion. are you hearing from your constituents or other republicans about that's just a lot of money? >> yeah. we need to be honest about whether a this money is and what it isn't. a big chunk of this money, there is a lot of confusion in the reporting, so when president biden announces a, you know, 1 billion, $2 billion package, that's actually a drawdown previous money authorized by congress. a lot of this money is going to restock our own u.s. military supplies here in the united states. the stingers, the javelins that we previously deployed over the past nine months to ukraine. i think it's important we do an honest accounting of it. i also think, steve, it's important that we not create this false argument that we have to choose between supporting

4:11 am
if you notice from peter's report, he said that this administration isn't dealing with title 42 because they are now focused on zelenskyy. again, i think the american people are upset that the focus is on a border, you know, all the way out in ukraine versus what's happening here. so, it would be nice to think we could do two things at one time. but are we and are we dooming our economy and impoverishing americans in order to help ukraine? >> >> well, there's a lot there. >> rachel: i know. >> inflation, i mean, obviously, that's been caused by the reckless spending, mainly the american rescue plan and so-called inflation reduction act. both of which, by the way, we are going to try to roll back portions of that when we are in the majority january 3rd that will go a long way to fighting inflation. with regard to ukraine, we wish that volodymyr zelenskyy didn't invade ukraine like we wish world war ii didn't happen. these are decisions made by evil dictators in other parts of the world. the question becomes what is the alternative? do we abandon ukraine on the
