up his true wealth. irs had a long standing policy from the 1970s to examine each president's taxes but did not happen until 2019, well into trump's first term. democrats want to do more to hold the irs requirement accountable. outgoing speaker nancy pelosi says they will move swiftly to advance the chairman's legislation requiring the irs conduct an annual audit of the president's finances. house republicans insist democrats are playing with fire. they fear the irs will be only further weaponized in the years to come. >> our worry is that this will launch a dangerous new era, a new political background for frankly politics is more divisive, more painful and i think more disheartening. >> we have reached out to former president trump's team but have not heard their reaction to the latest move. a lot of people are curious when the returns will come out. >> john: we'll wait for that and see what the reaction will be.

but the fact that a democratic committee is releasing these records gives some people the idea of politics. >> certainly. >> sandra: john, fox news alert as we anticipate president zelenskyy of ukraine's arrival at the white house. the shot is up, he's about a minute out from arriving there. he will meet with president biden before he and the president hold a press conference at the white house and then of course, john, this will culminate in an joint session of congress and address to the joint session of congress this evening. >> john: you are seeing the south portico, the red carpet out on the south lawn of the white house. visit coincides with getting the details of the latest package of aid to ukraine, $1.85 billion, which does include one patriot air defense battery and the munitions to go with it. also includes 8500 javelin anti-tank systems, 1600 stinger

surface to air missiles, man pads, 700 switch blade tactical unmanned drones, those are the drones used very effectively, basically a kamikaze drone, and h howitzers, attack 'ems, the longer range missiles, they are not in here nor are the gray eagle or reaper drones he's been asking for, that the president just believes that giving those to ukraine and the ability to actually strike inside russia would be unnecessarily provocative. >> sandra: quite a remarkable moment, live at the white house for his arrival there. zelenskyy has not left ukraine since russia launched this brutal invasion. that date was february 24th, so, 300 days into that invasion

ukraine, you are seeing ukraine suffer through these massive power outages, john, caused by russian strikes on civilian infrastructure there. zelenskyy, through the white house, has revealed his intent is only to be here in the united states for "a few short hours," but we know of course that involves a sit down with the president about to happen and we are told through the white house as well that this will be an in-depth strategic discussion about the war, military aid, and tightening sanctions before zelenskyy heads to the capitol tonight. >> john: and it takes place the same way that russian president vladimir putin met with his puppet president in belarus, and now there is activity in southern belarus near the border with ukraine that many people have taken as potential preparations for an invasion of ukraine from belarus. we don't know if vladimir putin

convinced lukashenko to join the fight or not, about you that would change the whole calculation. if ukraine was fighting in the east as it has been against russian forces and had to turn attention to the north, it already have been beefing up the defenses along the border to try to fend off an invasion from belarus. that may change the calculation of how the u.s. responds in terms of the supplies and munitions prepared to give to ukraine. >> congress is poised to pass the aid to ukraine as part of the 1.7 trillion omnibus funding bill, total u.s. assistance to over $100 billion, john, and the latest through the wall street journal, that republican voters are holding an increasingly skeptical view of additional aid to ukraine in a moment where zelenskyy is here most likely for that, to ask for more

assistance from the united states. >> john: and texas governor greg abbott says look, we are giving all this money to ukraine and giving it readily, and willingly, and yet in this new omnibus spending bill, massive 1.7 trillion bill, not a dime for border security. so abbott was suggesting every dollar we give ukraine we should give a dime to border states to defend their border. it's ironic in abbott and other people's ice, to beef up border security in jordan, egypt, oman, but nothing in terms of the southern border. we have had 2-2 minute warnings and both have been rescinded
