companies complying with its request. we are not able to speak to specific payments, the government is required to provide reimbursement for reasonable expenses related to searching for, reproducing or providing information responsive to the legal process. >> griff: jonathan gilliam joins us now. jonathan, what is your reaction to this story? >> i wish i had that sound bite that brooke just read, the quote from christopher wray. what he said tiktok is doing and what is possible, the threat they have, is exactly what the fbi was doing to the american people through twitter. so i think it is interesting, when you look at this and you look at how criminals typically act when they're questioned about this or evidence is brought forward, it is exactly like the fbi is acting now.

when we look at the twitter files and listen to what the fbi statement was, these things don't add up and we see a thing called minimization, which subjectses and crimes do when you question them, minimize their involvement and that is what is happening with the fbi. there is evidence now they have done this and the exact same thing is being done on all these other social media platforms and the talking points fbi uses is same talking points you hear from the democratic party. >> ashley: why can't they speak to specific payment and reimbursement? these are taxpayer dollars, is what they are doing legal and ethical? it is usually targeting conservative voices. >> it is illegal. and i'll put it this way, whenever the fbi or anybody in

and don't want to come back again tonight. >> i'm sorry, once again. >> ashley: does this change the investigation or the way you look at this at all? >> i think they knew this house was a party house, this shows the level of people that were in and out of that house unchecked. what this tells me, it is very important for investigators to try to build using cell towers and eyewitness accounts to build understanding of what that community around the house was like, who may have visited the house in the past and what it is like now. as they develop this understanding and that video is very telling, they're going to start to understand how broad this could be when looking at suspects. maybe not just looking at one particular person, they could broaden that scope.
