4:12 am
it be el paso? they have been sending buses or governor greg abbott? one's a republican, one's a democrat. there is bipartisan agreement that this is a major concern when it comes to texas border security, from those two government officials. and then on what dhs, that statement that they released, that griff read, the last line as temperatures remain dangerously low, all along the border. no one should put their lives in the hands of smugglers, risk life and limb to cross only to be returned. that is so true. then earlier this week henry cuellar posted a tweet which i thought was interesting, what he was hearing from the federal government on the possibility how they're going to handle the end of title 42. he said my understanding is that the administration plans to ask mexico to divert all migrant traffic from arizona, new mexico and west texas down to the rio grande valley sector. but then he said the problem

thing. i think on this christmas morning, it is so incredibly important to say thank you to the men and women of border patrol, in rgv, eagle pass, arizona, all across, away from families today on the border to try to deal with it. one thing i learned with two years of this crisis, how frustrating it is for those agents that want to try and do their fundamental core job which is to protect the border. instead they have to transport migrants, process migrants. they see a lack of leadership from their leaders, namely dhs secretary alejandro mayorkas and we had former border patrol chief ron vitiello on a little earlier talking specifically about this failure. listen. >> what we're seeing in real time is their failure to do their job, right? dhs was created to protect us from threats, some of which come across our southwest border, our

4:16 am
near the border, where was it? el paso, right? carley: yeah. griff: rgv which has more resources as sector, nine sectors across the southwest border and rgv is the largest. at that additionally they got the most migrants. perhaps there are political considerations in here right now the rgv is not seeing numbers of migrants they traditionally get. traditionally over 1000, 7, 800 in the last 24 hours, whereas el paso was over 2,000 yesterday. they're trying to move it a little bit. one thing is for sure, that is not not going to be redirect things. they will have to get some enforcement to stop people from coming, putting out a statement like the one we read isn't going to be enough. todd: sum this up, cartels running mexico, i have friends in the upper echelons of paramilitary community, guys that do the dirt work. mexico is the two nations. nation of mexico.
